Great classes, great location! I hate to see all of the negative reviews because of people showing up late to their own class that they booked lol. LI really enjoy my workout here and I think that the staff is very welcoming to beginners. If I had any request it would be more nighttime and afternoon weekend define classes. I love it here!

We arrived 1 minute late, and I could feel merciless glare of the staff members eyes burn a hole through my clothes as me and my friend asked about joining the class. I understand if we were even 5-10 minutes late, but being only a minute late and being that snobby about it is just unforgivable. Def not worth checking this place out if you’re in Houston, there are other studios that are nicer and honestly the studio size was pretty small so their facilities aren’t spectacular anyways.

Unfortunately I arrived at the studio doors 1 minute after start of class and was denied entry. As a working mom the stars have to align for me to be able to exercise, and not being allowed to do so due to "safety concerns" of a late arrival? seriously? Is every other studio in Houston that has a 5-minute (or more) grace-period "unsafe"?
I am impressed they are able to stay open with this business model, I won't return.

My sister and I booked a barre class via ClassPass. We arrived to class 1-2 minutes after the scheduled start time and were denied entry into class. By the reviews of this studio, some other people have had the same experience and have been reasonably upset by the studio’s policy and lack of flexibility. My sister and I were also a bit upset and confused about the late policy, and being new to both ClassPass and PureBarre, we decided to ask the receptionist questions to better understand moving forward.
Understanding that we would not be allowed in to class, my sister and I decided to take a seat in the reception area and talk amongst ourselves (in Spanish) to figure out next steps and ask for clarifying information around the reasoning behind the studio’s late policy, if we could rebook the class, and if we would be charged a fee by ClassPass. My sister and I remained calm and professional in speaking with the employee at reception, and after understanding the we would need to go through ClassPass to resolve any issues around fees, my sister and I left the studio.
Not long after we left the studio, we received a phone call from the studio manager who stated that her employee at reception had described our interaction as “confrontational” and was calling us to get our perspective before filling a report with ClassPass. I was shocked at the description of the encounter seeing as there was no confrontation between myself, my sister and the PureBarre employee. In fact, the employee was very helpful in explaining policies and next steps so I was also very shocked at how quickly the situation escalated and how the receptionist seemed to be wanting to instigate a problem after my sister and I had already left the studio.
From our conversation it seemed that the manager had the impression that the situation needed to be escalated. I told her that surely if the encounter was as “confrontational” as her employee described she could review footage from a security camera to which she replied “don’t tell me how to run my business.” I don’t appreciate such a serious accusation being thrown around without cause. I am left wondering if the employee at reception felt threatened or insulted by my sister and I speaking in another language and that was her justification for escalating the issue to her manager. The situation seemed to manipulated and misrepresented which I wholeheartedly do not appreciate and was grossly unnecessary.

My sister and I booked the 10:45 a.m. morning class this Sunday. We arrived 1-2 minutes late to class. I had booked this class via 'class pass' and being that I am fairly new to class pass and new to the pure Barre studios, I did not realize I would not be allowed into class. I was not aware of the strict studio policies. My sister and I were upset and asked the receptionist for further clarification on the late policies and then sat down to problem-solve, often slipping into conversation amongst us in Spanish, and figure out how to avoid late fees via class pass and/or re-book for their 12 pm class.
The studio owner called after we departed and stated her receptionist described our interaction as confrontational. The studio owner wanted to hear our side of the interaction before proceeding with writing a report to class pass. Yes, we were upset but we remained calm and asked for further clarification on their policies. I understand maybe the employee felt some discomfort but although we were upset we did remain calm, professional and respectful. I did not leave there feeling the interaction would go any further. I am left wondering if the conversations in another language amongst my sister and I made her uncomfortable in some way.
Over escalating the situation is not necessary in this scenario. I am left wondering why it was necessary to do so. We simply engaged in a conversation with the receptionist about the reasoning for their late policies then sat down to problem-solve as adults. The receptionist was even very helpful in the moment and was the first to mention trying to book another class for the same day or contacting class pass directly. I am wondering if the employee felt so threatened or uncomfortable by our interaction that she felt the need to escalate the issue so quickly.

Definitely expensive. Seems like good work out but a bit too much for me need better stamina for these I think. Staff is nice but over bearing they blow up your phone and emails.

I really like going to this place but their schedule is the worst out of all the pure barre studios. Why is there only 2 early morning classes on a Thursday and nothing else? Doesn’t make any sense…… this is the closest location for me and I wish I could utilize their studio more often but with their wonky schedule it’s almost impossible.

I booked a class through gym pass for 8am. She did not allow me to enter the class even though I arrived at 8am. The owner is unapologetic and rude. I will not come back to this studio or the other location that she owns (which she spoke so proudly of). Learn how to speak to potential new customers and be clear about the rules upfront.

It’s a decent workout. If it works for you SLAY. Some basic familiarity with barre would be very helpful. Taylor, Kendall, Lauren, and all the other instructors are willing to help after/before class to break it down for further understating. Tonya the owner is phenomenal. She makes the studio so much fun on holidays with black light classes and glow lights. Who knows what she has up her sleeve for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. Bet Valentine’s Day is lovely. A genuine person sharing her love of barre, business savvy, and compassion for others. She goes above and beyond to give a good experience. If you have an issue just talk to Tonya- she’s a good person.

After driving 30 minutes and trying to make it on time, ‘Late comers are not allowed in class and have a good rest of day’ of course is the best way to start my weekend.
I’m a huge Pure Barre fan but I’m really mad about their late policy. You are not allowed in the class at all if you are late for ‘safety reason’
It’s my fault that I was late. But I was not expecting a locked door and a aloof face.

Absolutely love this place! Bethany, the Sale Manager, is absolutely wonderful. She really knows and understands the members and will check on them if they are injured and missing class. She definitely did that for me!
The instructors are amazing also! They take time to read your file and work with you on reaching your own goals. I never feel ashamed of using modifications in large classes.
The studio itself is clean and inviting. The bathrooms are cute! They always have the best socks to purchase.
I went to this location for about a year and will sorely miss it. I hope my new location is as half as great as this one!

Jocelyn's class is the best. This is the best Pure Barre studio in the Loop. The teachers are obsessed with form in the best possible way. They give you a lot of corrections in a really kind and encouraging tone. They get excited when your muscles are shaking. The community at the Voss location is really nice. It's a really diverse crowd of women, lots of ages, body shapes and languages spoken. I've been to other barre studios in the area where the teachers are kind of snooty and the experience is more about showing off your lulu than getting a good workout - this is NOT like that at all. People are just really focused on getting a good burn. The teachers don't say any body-shaming stuff, they just want you to focus on getting stronger and feel good.
