Marlon βthe chiefβ as he kept reminding me was very rude when I brought up a request that me and about 10 others that I play basketball with in the gym were requesting.. And that because heβs never seen me in this gym (Ive been going to this gym weekly for 3 years) that he does not care what I have to say nor will he hear me out. And that nothing is going to change because he is the chief and this is his show to run lol his words. Called me liar that I donβt go to this gym cause heβs never seen me. Just very unprofessional I repeatedly told him I was not trying to argue with him but he was just very confrontational. Not the way to be towards veterans that come to this gym.

Sprawling gym with a lot of options for cardio, progressive resistance, free weights, etc. There is an indoor track upstairs for inclement weather. Well appointed and well maintained. Some of the court space has been converted to specialty equipment such as a punching bag and dumbbells.

I have military adult kids that donβt no longer have a id, but I love working out with my daughter, but she canβt come with me because she doesnβt live with in a 50 mile radius,, which is so crazy to me because we are having all these other rights!! but I donβt understand why this rule is still here! Makes NO SENSE but whatever Iβll join a gym outside the rules are whack and upsetting!!

It's got your essentials. 3 flat benches, 2 inclines, 2 barbell shoulder press stations, and I think 1 decline bench. 2 squat racks, 2 smith machines. A variety of hammer strength isolateral machines. Several cable machines.
Basketball/volleyball courts, racketball courts (though I've never seen them used), and a full sized rubber track across the street. Half sized hard floor track upstairs.
Tons of cardio equipment - elliptical, stationary bike, treadmills (including woodway), Jacob's ladder.
There's a tiny room where a small toddler could play with a couple of cardio machines.
Juice bar at the front.
There is a power tower with a punching bag and crossfit-esque stuff in the back room next to the racketball courts

Great place to work out if you gave access. I would say this is easily the best fitness center in the entire city. The staff is top rate. The clients are well mannered. You have many options for activities under one roof to include an indoor running track on the second level.

Brought my teenage son to do his leg day. Excellent facility. Google maps will make you go in circles and you'll never find it with that app. It makes some sense that it wouldn't be accurate on a military installation, but it was still irritating. Google will put you in a parking lot on the far side of the track with no way to drive to the other side. If you see the pool you're close. Park directly in front of the rambler facility, unless part of what you want to do is walk to get there. I hate Randolph's layout. Yes, it's cool, if you back out: the streets are laid out to look like a tank. But it's horrible to try and drive. Once we got there my son had to wait his turn with the barbells, but they were busy. I did use the locker room and it's huge and impressive. Great weight room and lots of choices on how to spend your time in it. There are even benches for people like me (I had already spent a couple of hours in 100 degree heat gardening), to sit and read a book as I waited for my son to finish. Great place for retirees and dependants to go to keep in shape.

This gym has the potential to be a fantastic gym for people stationed at Randolph. However, for a few reasons, if I can avoid going here, I will.
1. It is one of the busiest gyms I have ever been to. As active duty, I cannot go to the gym before work, during lunch, or after work without having to navigate hordes of people. Often, every single cable, free weight <40lbs, and all squat racks are taken at the same time. Iβd estimate about 90% of the patrons are either retirees or dependents, and there are lots of groups of teenagers that hang out there after hours. It is often busy even after hours with the 24 hr access. If I could recommend anything, it would be that retiree and dependent capacity be limited during the peak hours for active duty personnel, such as 1100-1300 and 1600-1800. I know that wouldnβt be popular, but itβs pretty disheartening to see a majority of airmen paying for off-base gym memberships because their on base facilities are too busy use.
2. The staff do very little to maintain the facilities. Itβs quite often that weights, cable attachments, and equipment are scattered about. Some machines will have every weight possible and some will be completely devoid of all weights. I often see the staff sitting at the desk scrolling on their phones but rarely see them working to keep the facilities in good condition. Additionally, the staff readily enforce the dress code for any woman in a sports bra, but donβt say anything to the men wearing minimal stringers. They are very kind employees, but the facility needs some work.
3. On the positive note, this gym does have a great selection of equipment (if anything, Iβd love to see more squat racks) and the outdoor track is great.

Nice equipment and lots of certain stuff, like cardio and machines. Poor utilization of space. Thereβs a giant open space with nothing in it on your way into the weight/cardio area. There is a giant staff area in the middle of the floor with no staff or seeming purpose. Too many fitness machines, not enough plates, lift cages, pull up bars and cable trainers. Always packed at all hours. Wish there was a second gym on post, even if it were just weights or cardio to draw off some people. Very clean, staff seem to take pride in the place.

This gym has everything you could possibly need...but...It is always packed. There is never a good time to be here. Even when it's closed and only people with 24 hour access can get in, it's unbelievably packed. And even if it wasn't, even if there were only 2 other people in this gym with you, those two people would somehow be simultaneously using every piece of equipment you need. They'd be rushing around to jump on a machine before you. Or they'd have every bench and dumbbell occupied somehow. Go for a run on the track instead? Nah, there's 6 people doing walking lunges all the way around 6 abreast. Cables machine? No, 3 people are doing flies. There's only one machine but there's somehow 3 people on it. I wanna love this gym. It's close by. It's full of great stuff. But the people in it and the number of them is ridiculous. Go somewhere else. Please. For my sanity. Go somewhere else.

It's one of the better fitness centers I've been to. Equipment seems new, but only issue is lack of plates, lack of deadlift area, only 3 squat racks, bench press are too congested and difficult to traverse/squeeze behind to spot, and a few other issues. But hey, it's free if you're active, dependent, or retired, so I won't argue the price.
Edit: They did move some of th equipment around, so it opens it up some and flows better. However, a few more changes need made before it will increases its star rating.

1 srar for the rules. Be sure you bring your facial decoration. I got approached by the facial decoration police because I didn't have mine covering my nose. Even the CDC has stated that they are only facial decorations and do not protect against any variant, so why are the healthy people having to wear them?? 4 Stars for the Equipment. They have what you need to get your workout done. 2 Star for the bathrooms. The mens bathroom smells like old urine because members aim at the floor, and the urine does not get mopped frequently.
