I found this yoga studio about a month ago.
I have taken classes at several other yoga studios and even had private lessons before but there's just something about this studio that cannot be replicated.
The amount of peace you get from this place is indescribable. I can be full of anxiety unsure of my life path, I take a class and immediately all my worries dissipate.
It allows me mental clarity to be able to navigate through my life.
All the instructors are super knowledgeable about yoga and they make it easy to follow along. They have a yoga model who flawlessly displays the correct poses in case you're ever wondering what you're supposed to be doing and that helps a lot.
I feel very accepted here and have begun to share with all my friends and clients about Rasa yoga and I will continue to do so.

Yoga is my medicine. Through my yoga training, I am becoming aware of the patterns of my thoughts and my responses. I am strengthening my ability to see these patterns and then make conscious shifts and I am reducing my resistance to pain and anxiety. I am very grateful for the increased sense of power and well- being that I am cultivating.
Update: Seven years later, as I have continued to train, I am stronger, more confident, and find more ease in my life. I am even more committed to training!

The most loving and challenging place to upgrade your Asana training and yoga studies. This community combines the wisdom of the sages of the East with an approach of studying at a university level of the West. You have to try it to believe it. There is a class or a workshop for every level from beginner yogis to advanced teachers. If you want to find equilibrium in your life, visit Rasa Yoga.

If you truly want to learn yoga, this is the school for you. I have trained here for 11 years. In that time I have transformed many things in my life, I have learned functionality of my biomechanics through Asana classes, I have learned what true meditation really is and what it’s not, I have learned who I really am and what i forgot by being in this game on Earth. You will know when you’re ready and when you’re ready and this might be the school for you if those things I have learned matter to you

Rasa Yoga School is more than just a a place to practice yoga, it’s a place that will push your boundaries, thoughts and beliefs. I was a student for about 8 months, consistently practicing and then drifted off to other things. I have found myself back and the instructors and community have met me where I am, right now, In this moment. If you are looking for a place to start your practice or find inner peace, I 100% recommend Rasa yoga. The yoga instructors are nurturing , supportive and informative. The owner, Padma offers many free sessions on the how and why of yoga to help guide you through some of the ups and downs a yogi can experience. I am currently in this place and wanted to share. Please take the time to check out a beautiful place with beautiful souls . You deserve it and you are worth it. Namaste!

Please BEWARE!
I usually don't write bad reviews, but I can not stop thinking about, that people should know about this.
LOVE is a word often used at Rasa, the owner Padma will lead the way and overwhelm longtime as well as new students by the excessive use of the word.
Getting to know staff as well as the spiritual leader Padma better, I learned to look at their actions, not only their words.
Membership yogis, teacher training students as well as long time "inner circle members" get tied up in endless upselling at Rasa.
Additional workshops, required volunteering for yoga teaching, special courses, required purchases, required google reviews, and lots of other required volunteering as needed by the owner.
Some members are even asked to give percentages of their salaries to Rasa.
There are endless schemes to lure people in and make them spend more and more on things they don't want or need.
I am not saying every person at Rasa is this way, there are some lovely people too, but most staff as well as lots of long time members are trained to repeatedly tell people anything to lure them in.
The sad truth is that they do it to get to your wallet by putting emotional pressure on you.
If you don't spend enough you might find yourself in an "accountability meeting" with your mentor, where you are reminded that it's all about LOVE and that you need to spend on some kind of workshop or training to elevate yourself or to keep up with your "Registry requirements".
I speak from personal experience, being lied to by Padma multiple times.
I also know plenty of members who (if they dared) would tell you that it is a never ending story.
I can assure you, it is not normal to spend years and outrageous amounts of money on extra workshops to get your RYT200, and in some cases 9+ years of active participation and training to hopefully get your RYT500 some day.
A lot of the reviews and comments you can find about Rasa are written by staff or students who were required to write them.
If you are looking for teacher training or yoga classes I would recommend looking for other studios in the area, there are good options where members and employees are treated with dignity.
If you decide to give Rasa a try, please be careful and watch their actions not their words.

Even just walking into Rasa Yoga calms my spirit! The teachers are all lovely. Padma, the owner, takes the time to get to know each of her students. Ayurveda and yoga are treated as one here, not discrete subjects. Love this holistic perspective, not just to yoga but for life!

I have been attending Rasa Yoga since January of 2018, and I am receiving many benefits. My body is going to serve me well in the coming decades. I am also finding more peace of mind, and can return to it more quickly when it is disrupted. It's not easy to change, nor is it quick. Rasa Yoga provides the education, tools, workshops, and support to go as far as you want to on the path to personal freedom. If you want to learn just yoga, the classes are excellent no matter what level you are. But you may find you want to learn a whole lot more about yourself and the life you really want to create.

I walked in the door 4 years ago looking for something different to add to my exercise routine. I had no idea that adding physical movement to my day would be just the tip of the iceberg of the benefits and personal growth I would see from joining this school. The first moment through the door, you feel a sense of peace. The environment is welcoming and calm. The staff and teachers are knowledgeable and kind and are living examples of the benefits one can realize from a traditional yogic lifestyle. They have a variety of classes to suit any skill level or schedule including livestream classes. They have workshops that you can attend to learn more and deepen your practice. They also have formal training paths if you see that you want to progress more deeply in your training or become a certified teacher. The community of people and friendships I have made from attending Rasa Yoga is my favorite benefit of being a student here.

I began my journey a Rasa Yoga School of Yoga and Ayurveda in January, 2020 - and I have never looked back. The moment I walked into the studio, I felt a pervading sense of peace wash over me. Teachers and staff are all so openly warm, friendly, and helpful. The sense of community is all encompassing. Rasa Yoga is not just an ordinary yoga studio; It is a school - one of the very best in the country. It is a school that provides each member with the freedom to choose their own, personal yoga path/journey.
I began my personal journey towards self mastery in the beginning of March, 2021, and I have not regretted a single day. I have grown and transformed in ways I did not even imagine: body, mind, spirit… Even my relationships with others. My stress level has decreased drastically.
Rasa Yoga has something for everyone. If what you seek is simply physical practice, there are general classes for that. If you want to learn how to meditate at a higher level, there are workshops to help you get there. If you wish to take your practice off the mat and into your every day life, there are classes for that, as well.
The point is that it is your choice. You – and only you – choose your personal path and how far you wish to take your practice.
Rasa Yoga School of Yoga and Ayurveda has helped improve the quality of my life. Feelings of peace, joy, and fulfillment have permeated all aspects of my life.

I studied closely with the "guru" here for 9 years...until I woke up to what I was involved in. I loved it in the beginning but 'things' changed as the years progressed
It took most of those years to earn my 200 and 500 hour teaching certificates which is a very long time as training goes; but this is pretty normal at Rasa Yoga. Repeatedly taking and paying for required workshops is what is expected, and it keeps the money flowing.
When I became a part of the "leadership circle" the demand of my time, effort and money became even more intense than before. We were asked to tithe 10% of our income to this business, like a church.
My intuition, family and friends kept telling me that I was in a cult. I responded as I had been taught. Yes, this happens so frequently that they train students how to deal with their loved one's concerns about being a cult.
I read a book called "The Covert Narcissist" and WOW! - it perfectly described my experience at Rasa Yoga and it all made sense. My vacillation about leaving was over.
If you just want a yoga class and can tolerate high pressure sales, then this is a place to go. If you want teacher training, there are other schools in the area where you won't have all the extra "stuff" to deal with and can get trained in a reasonable amount of time on budget.
I left Rasa Yoga a year ago and it was one of the most freeing decisions I've ever made! I feel stronger, happier and healthier than I ever did while attending #Rasa Yoga.

I started yoga for the physical benefits, but never would have predicted the mental and emotional benefits that come from training at a school like this. This weekend I participated in a meditation workshop online and found it so effective and helpful. Meditation is challenging for me and I appreciated the practicality of how to practice and the opportunity to start putting all of the pieces together in the workshop. The teachings at Rasa are so helpful and relevant to our current times. Beyond the physical benefits, we also learn about thought patterns that are and are not helpful and practices to start to shift these patterns. The teachings are very applicable to all aspects of life. All of the yoga classes, workshops, etc. have been made available both online and (limited) in person since the pandemic started. The school has made a ton of improvements in the online experience and for the yoga classes, you now have the option to turn on your camera and interact and geed feedback from the teacher. The teachers are all fantastic. I highly recommend this studio for any level of student, not only for the asana classes, but for all of the other classes and workshops they offer as well.

I've done yoga at several schools in the Houston area and with many teachers. The reason I give this school only 2 stars is not the quality of their classes, which are excellent, it’s the constant upselling. Students are constantly pressured to spend, spend, spend, for workshops which are the same material over and over, most of which are a venue for the owner to talk about her life and not teach any actual yoga philosophy. Why so much pressure? Because the studio and its funding source, Visible Belief Foundation, have lost their 5013c status, contrary to what their website says. (This information is publicly available.)
Students are expected, not asked, expected, to provide free labor when the school needs something, such as painting or landscaping, or cleaning the owner’s house after a workshop.
If you’re looking for yoga classes, I’d look for a studio in Friendswood or League City.

Rasa Yoga has made me a better person. In very meaningful and lasting ways. I live my life more fully and, more importantly, live my heart more fully. I can now embrace friends and family with a level of intimacy I had only previously hoped. I listen better and, once in a while, even speak less. Those many things that have and can still hold me back – the self-doubt, guilt, withdrawal – I now accept with more ease and self-love. I am more aware of my gifts and my challenges and am more able to consciously create and contribute as my heart calls.
Had it not been for Rasa Yoga, these shifts and miracles would probably not have occurred. The service and devotion actively embodied by Padma, G, D, and many others provided me much needed comfort and revealed to me a path through storms and into the life that’s been calling. Their compassion opened the way for me to see the Truth of who I am.
What you receive at Rasa Yoga are a Founder and key leaders that consistently serve and support each member of the community. Rasa Yoga are not weekend warriors looking for the next pick me up. They show up every day, devoted to the community, the people, and to a yogic and ayurvedic path that can make a difference in your life. That difference, however, is ultimately up to you.
If you want to live and love more, to find more comfort and awareness in your own storms, and to uncover your path to conscious creation, I couldn’t recommend Rasa Yoga more.

When I walked into the studio at Rasa Yoga 10 years ago, I immediately knew I had found a home! Rasa yoga offers a peaceful, harmonious environment in which to practice yoga on the mat and learn about the ancient teachings of yoga. Through my training at Rasa Yoga I have come to see yoga as my medicine. I have developed strength and stability in the physical body and I have also noted these same benefits of strength and stability in how I deal with emotions and distractions in the mind. Rasa Yoga offers a community of like-minded people seeking to uplift and thrive!

It is a place of true community, a place for me to learn to thrive.

I have studied with this school of yoga and Ayurveda for almost 8 years. I begin going to classes and quickly joined the Master Path program for teacher training. I am still on this path with many others and now studying for my yoga therapy certification. This school is one of very few to be certified by IAYT and they are in my backyard. So blessed. They even have the teacher training completely on line now and self-paced!! I will say that my work life as a Project Manager has become richer and a part of my practice. Same with my relationship tp others and especially to myself. That is not to say I am problem-free by any means. I just have new tools and I remember to use them more! I have much more mercy for my humanness. Padma Shakti (the founder) has been a great teacher for me in this respect. She has learned to embody mercy (and many more yoga principles) which i am still learning. Her desire for each student is to know there is nothing wrong with you!! Give it a try, you might be ready for transforming a few things, too. Check out the Facebook Page to for free short meditations and community talks by Padma.

I used to love coming here. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I specifically enjoyed buti yoga and for Valentines Day they were running a special of 20 buti yoga classes for about $150. I was moving in August so at the time of purchase i figured I had plenty time to use the classes. I only got to use 3 out of 20 classes. However, due to the pandemic, the studio was closed for about 4 months and no in classes were being offered. Once they reopened I explained the situation and asked for at least a partial refund since I was moving out of the area and was too far. I was denied twice. No exceptions. I asked for the contact information of the owner and I had repeatedly asked for the owner to call me. Because I never received a call, I ended up emailing my situation and why I was upset.
Her response was very unprofessional and passive aggressive. There were no apologies for her not trying to contact me when i asked FOUR times nor was there any thanking me for supporting her business since I had been a student there for a year. She told me I would get a refund BUT then proceeded to insult me. She said the only reason I was getting the refund was because other students were supporting it. I was in shock. The money originally came from my pocket that I earn myself. No other student supports me so Im not sure what she was talking about. The comment was unnecessary and untrue. Not to mention disrespectful and unprofessional. She also told me other "loyal" students were "opting to donate unused tutuions".
I highly doubt people were given a choice. If that was the case, I wouldn't have had to go through emailing the owner since initially I was denied TWICE. I felt belittled and hurt by a company I spoke highly of because I did enjoy going there. I ended up getting full refund eventually but I was talked down to and disrespected in the process of it. I learned I am not welcomed there and they only care about money. You have to pay in full upfront so I would be cautious because there are no refunds and only care about your money.
*** Response***
Padma/Tracie,
I understand your policy about refunds but I asked MULTIPLE times for you to call me so I could explain my situation verbally. You never attempted to call. So don't tell me if I have an issue to reach out because I couldn't of I wanted to lol. And there was no excuse of the rudeness of your email. You were unprofessional and insulting. I sent you an email explaining why I was offended. Not ONCE did you apologize to me or thank me for my business. Don't pretend you care on the internet because I gave you so many chances to reach out to me and all you do is talk down to me. I talked to Gracie and apologized to her that I couldn't go there anymore because I moved and also I didn't feel welcomed. I told her that her and Jenn were all very great and worked hard. They made me feel welcomed. Gracie also was very kind and professional by listening to me and apologized as well. I applaud her work ethic and give her credit.

I love the atmosphere! As soon as I walk in, you take your shoes off and it feels like home. Then you notice the scents and how quiet it is, very calming. As you open the door to step inside the studio, you are greeted with a warm and accepting smile. Sometimes they are holding the door because it's busy period and the energy flowing is uplifting. Each person, especially the instructors and long time practitioners, are open and kind. Sometimes, I just want to talk to someone so this one person just listens. Then sometimes I need a little encouragement and this person does just that, she keeps it simple and gets straight to the point with kindness. One person is always so bright and cheerful, it's contagious! :D I could go on but I'll end here for now. I recommend Rasa Yoga to anyone and everyone who is remotely thinking or interested in yoga! Bait and Switch alert: had a Groupon to Yoga Rasa and while they would fully honor the Groupon, they tried this sales pitch that was basically no longer valid if I used the entire Groupon. I don't remember the details but I do remember that I had to chose
1) Their special offer
or
2) Use the entire Groupon but not be eilliglbe for their special offer
I don't like the "take it or leave it" mentality so I didn't even end up using the full Groupon.
Other than that, the studio was clean and peaceful. I would give them another shot if I lived in the area.

Unscrupulous, money-grubbing spiritual charlatans, huge scam and rip-off. Beware! A friend recently moved here; she has studied and practiced Zen Buddhism for more than 20 years: years at the Providence RI Zen Center, and months of retreats at Zen Centers in Chicago, S. Korea and Furnace Mountain KY. When she arrived in Houston, she had difficulty (since remedied) finding a mediation/study/sitting group/center similar to the school she trained in. She had already been practicing yoga for some time to supplement her spiritual practice. Without a sitting group, she was out of place, a stranger in a strange place, and looked for a like-minded spiritual connection/like-minded folks. She stumbled across Yoga Rasa, visited, and decided she should enroll in their teacher-training program. Before even granting her an admission interview, Yoga Rasa demanded a NON-REFUNDABLE PAYMENT IN FULL (+$5000), with, of course, all of the legally binding paperwork. I cautioned her. This would be like paying in full for a car before you are given a test ride. Or (since I have a background in higher-education) like a college demanding full payment for a four-year degree before granting an admissions interview. Anyway, she paid (IN FULL, NON-REFUNDABLE) and she went to a couple of sessions. She felt humiliated; after all of her years as a Zen Buddhist student/practitioner/teacher, she was being treated as an unenlightened and childish novice. So she stopped going. She's out several grand. There's a teaching in everything in life. In this case, the teaching is: don't trust these dollar-enlightened folks.

I want to applaud Andy for being bold. I had the most remarkable savasana today in Andy's class, it brought me to tears (in the best possible way ) and reminded me what Christmas is all about. Thank you Andy!

Yoga Rasa isn’t “just” a yoga studio. They’ve got meditation classes, zumba, pole, special workshops, parties… there is always something exciting going on. There’s a Chiropractor, Salon and Spa. One-stop shopping for mind, body and spirit. It’s a community of like-minded individuals who chose to uplift each other rather than tear down. I love being a student there and feeling like I’m part of something bigger. Thank you Tracie Brace Hatton for creating such a healthy and fun place!
