They scammed money from me. A few months ago I purchased a 4-class package via Mindbody. They continued to postpone their classes until the 4-class package expired. When I reached out to try to get an extension/refund, nobody replied.

came to a beginner yoga class with a friend and it was great, our instructor Grace was so welcoming and explained the poses very well and then she would come around to “correct” so gently. I’ve always been kind of shy to attend a class like this but Grace made me feel super safe and I will absolutely be coming back soon to learn from her

DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE. Before getting into my review, I gave this company 3 business days to get back to me/make things right and have heard nothing. My friend and I booked a beginner aerial yoga class months before the class date. Upon arriving to the studio it was closed and dark. We called, got voicemail multiple times, texted, emailed, tried to contact on Instagram and Facebook messenger with no escalation of the issue. If I could give this place zero stars I would. They took my $ for the class and have ghosted me. Now I have to go through my credit card to do a charge back for the funds because this company refuses to answer. They also still have booking options open online, so don’t make the same mistake I made. After sifting through other reviews for this place I found two reviews of people who had similar experiences. So unprofessional and disappointing!

**After the long arduous process of getting our membership cancelled, they STILL charged us for the next month and claimed their system was "finicky". This is highly unprofessional.
I went to their free open house the first Saturday of the month and there wasn't anyone there. They allowed me and my friend to do their free intro aerial class and were nice and helpful.
Then, the owner offered their beginner membership to share between the two of us, and I heard it was $20/month and even asked the owner if it was $20/month and she didn't correct me. I only agreed to it (despite not planning to use it) because I felt pressured after the extensive 1-on-1 teaching experience we had just experienced and figured it was only $20. My friend was then charged $80 which I only found out afterwards which surprised me, and I assumed she had been precharged for 4 months. Then, I looked up on their website that it was $80/month AND a $150 cancellation fee which is outrageous, especially if you want to cancel after 1 month.
I want(ed) a full refund because I felt scammed - even if it was a "contract," none of that had been communicated to us before we signed up and paid (I didn't even know the original cost of the membership!)
Then I texted their number and emailed two times, before I finally called. Their "solution" was to deduct the $80 from the $150 cancellation fee, even though we weren't planning on using the membership AND HAD BEEN MISINFORMED ABOUT THE COST. I had to follow up several times after this to get our membership fully cancelled.
We were scammed $150 for classes that we will probably never use because it feels awkward to return back to this studio. Highly disappointed and don't recommend.

I have been practicing yoga at this studio for years! All of the instructors are excellent. Amanda is amazing at teaching concepts and explaining different techniques, Geneveve keeps me relaxed with her soothing voice and Ivan is awesome for challenging us with core work and increasing our strength and mobility. Taking their classes is a must! A huge bonus is that the studio provides us yummy ginger candy which is such a nice touch.

Bottom line: Prissy and Ditzy service. Check out something else to do. Because of the reply to my original post implying the failure is a lack of basic due diligence on my and my friend's part, I'm updating and going into detail:
There were many points of failure, but the biggest one is the defensiveness, lack of professionalism, and refusal to acknowledge their fallability. When I pointed out the disconnect, I was rudely told "not to overthink it". I cannot and will not recommend this place. They can keep their measley credit for all 3 of us. I won't be coming back, let alone buy packages. I will also discourage anyone I know to visit.
1) The class we signed up for was specifically labeled mixed levels online. When we arrived we were told it was intermediate only and we needed to take the prerequisite Beginner class. Either they failed to label the class correctly online or they gave us the wrong info when we arrived today.
2) Both me and a friend tried calling at different times of day between last Thursday and last Friday (yesterday) to ask questions - no one answered and no one ever replied to the chat function except to send an email saying that email was the best way to reach them as they are often in classes. Up to you but is not customer friendly.
3) Last of the detail I'll go into cause I'm not letting this place take any more mental space with their passive aggressiveness - the lady there (she never offered her name) said she texted both me and my friend yesterday. When we said we never received it, she wouldn't deign to check herself. It's just after I posted the honest review, she texted me that her original text didn't go through LOLz. No thanks.
Original Post:
Poor experience. Lack of professionalism and simple communication. Will look at rock climbing as an activity.

Purchased an aerial yoga class online and was very excited to go. Arrived to see two other ladies standing outside to a closed studio. We all waited about 15 minutes after class started hoping someone would show or send a cancellation notice but neither of those happened. I sent an email before leaving the studio and haven't heard back yet! Quite unprofessional for a fitness studio.
--In response to the studio's reply--
Since students are required to sign up for class, you have all my contact information including my name, number, and email address. Also, since no teacher showed up, all of us who paid for a class should receive a full refund. Lastly, as stated above, I too sent an email yesterday and included my contact information - have yet to hear back. This was not a scheduling issue, this was a no-show with zero communication to your clients. It's very unprofessional. Please don't try to save face publicly without realistically solving the problem. It's tactless. Thanks.

Find any other aerial yoga to go to, do not go here!!!
Me and a close friend were super hyped to go try out Aerial Yoga but The instructor Amanda was snobby and rude! She made a remark about me being on a budget when I did not jump at the idea of buying Disney socks. She was not very friendly she gave off a horrible attitude when my friend asked about the price of renting a mat. I would hate to say that her attitude was because of me and my friend being of Hispanic decent but it sure felt that way;the bio says they’re inclusive but they’re totally not.

Today was my first time trying Aerial yoga. I went to the intro beginner class where Genevieve was the instructor. I was very nervous going in being a plus size woman but both Amanda and Genevieve were awesome with making me feel comfortable. During class Genevieve was very helpful and didn’t mind coming to my hammock to help. I’m excited for my next class and look forward to this journey! Highly recommended for people looking to build strength !

Republic Aerial Yoga is by far my favorite yoga and wellness studio in Houston! I have attended countless ground and aerial yoga classes at the original location and current location, and love how RAY supports the Houston community as well as other local business through their events and social media presence. I also love that the classes are challenging yet fun, and there are so many opportunities to capture your experience through community photoshoots, private lessons, and private group events.

Do your body and your mind a favor and head right to Republic Aerial Yoga. I’ve taken yoga several times in several cities and this is by far the BEST experience I’ve had.
Amanda really cares about not only taking you through the poses, but also teaches you about the philosophy of yoga. She said the terms slow enough to understand them and even spelled them, so I was able to do research after class. Whether on the ground or in the air, she explains the poses in a simple and effective way that made me realize some of them I had been doing wrong for years! My form has never been better.
Yoga in the air intimidated me at first, but I’ve been going for a week and my back and shoulders feel AMAZING. They even offered to set up a private class for me to gauge my ability and what’s comfortable for me in the hammock. (This was super important because I have Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis and and ostomy, so I often have to modify poses as I rebuild my strength.)
The class is actually properly socially distanced and the hammocks are sanitized and cleaned. VITAL for someone like me who is immunocompromised.
On top of all the health benefits, aerial yoga is just plain old fun!
I also took Pilates and it was challenging, but a great workout!
For either workout, I recommend starting with the $5 intro class and then getting a class pass! You will thank me later!!

if you’re looking for a yoga studio that is small, intimate & local with chill energy, this is your place. I love that classes aren’t typically packed (at least when I go they aren’t); it makes the session personal and more fun. I’ve been taking classes with Amanda, and she’s f*cking awesome, very down to earth & knowledgeable. She is a great teacher, not just an instructor. I’ve only taken aerial classes so far, but they offer much more! Yes, regular yoga, too.
This studio also has a little boutique packed with local handmade goodies and art. I really love that they support local artists, shops, & Houston-made products.

I looked all over Houston for a great Hatha class, and Republic Aerial Yoga is the only studio that offers quality Hatha as well as a range of other Yoga practices. Where else can you find acro and aerial yoga and get your Hatha and Flow practice in? Amanda and her staff are warm, welcoming, and to be completely honest very "real." You won't get the feel of a corporate studio here. Members are diverse, kindhearted and welcoming, as well. Amanda leads the class in consideration of everyone's limits, giving several level options for poses, and she will work with you to make sure your posturing is correct so that your body is getting the most restorative properties out of the poses. This studio also offers CBD honey sticks, which I partake in ahead of every class. I feel relaxed, calmed, and centered and my overall mood is improved after taking classes here. Also, I wake up feeling like a queen. It's been decades since I woke up ahead of my alarm clock feeling like a goddess. This studio is by far the best yoga studio in Houston.

I found my new yoga home in Republic Yoga. Great vibes, great space, great teachers. I found this location from folks who rave about Amanda and the studio. After meeting her and taking a class I totally get it. She is extremely welcoming and knowledgeable. And so is her team of yoga teachers. She is really living yoga and sharing that in her classes with her students. I love the mixed level classes where you get to really break down different poses and why you are doing them and try new things. Whether you are beginner or intermediate she makes it accessible. For these teachers, yoga is about the health benefits not only on the mat but off. The adjustments and hands on assists in the restorative class were amazing. And I love the yoga triangle. Yoga for beginners, advanced practitioners, spiritual nuts, anatomy nerds, the integrated, the disenfranchised, seekers of corporate liberation.
No goats, some chakras, naps are encouraged.
Amanda gives off serious maternal vibes. She nurtures you as you practice. She does the old switcheroo on your pre-conceived notions. You don't need that idea of what Yoga IS. Forget it, and remember instead something you didn't realize you forgot.

Absolutely love this studio! I've been attending classes for about a month and have loved each of the three instructors I've practiced with; Alaina, Amanda & Lonny.
During every class with Alaina, I have discovered some new and obscure muscle I didn't even know existed! I love that I leave her classes feeling empowered, strengthened and more knowledgeable. I also get the best sleep after Alaina's classes!
Amanda is incredibly knowledgeable about yoga and beyond and is amazing at breaking down poses in an understandable way, no matter your skill level. I love Amanda's sense of community and acceptance and how it is radiated through her practice and the studio.
Lonny's classes are full of unique poses and her shavasana adjustments are pretty great!
Overall, the studio is very welcoming, accepting, fun and classes are small so there is plenty of individual attention. Not to mention the variety of class offerings (beginner, flow, aerial, etc) at a very reasonable rate.

Let me start by saying, I hate yoga. I know it’s good for me, but I hate doing it. However, the atmosphere at Republic Yoga is so positive and laid back that I actually enjoy doing yoga here, especially aerial.
Amanda’s a very good teacher in that she finds what works for each indiviual and finds ways to explain things in a way that makes sense. She also continues to educate herself about new techniques and insights into how the body works and how it responds to various methods of stretching and healing. She doesn’t just draw on yoga, but also other methods and forms to create an holistic practice.
All around, Republic has been the best yoga experience I’ve ever had.

I have never tried yoga before but was drawn in by one of the only places offering aerial yoga. I got a really cheap month trial where I can try as many classes as I want. I’m the third day in and I’m three for three on coming to yoga. I enjoy it so much I am doing two classes tonight. Acro yoga was another class I tried and brought my boyfriend. It was extremely bonding and helps work on communication and trust and now he is hooked too! Very small so it’s not an awkward judgey place. Everyone helps even other students! The classes are so small you get highly personalized experiences. They have modifications for every skill level. It’s been a really great experience that I look forward to every day of the week. I would highly recommend this place with its unique as well as classic class options.

Started coming here a few weeks ago through the new student month special and I've got to say, it's well worth the money. There are lots of different classes and styles of yoga to choose from; whether it's on your mat, in the air or with a partner. I've done a different style of yoga for the entire length of time I've been practicing, it's nice to find a place so close to me where I can expand on my practice and learn more skills. The classes are relatively small which creates an intimate atmosphere and everyone seems to interact as friends there. Last night these two girls practiced together and it seemed like they knew each other, they ended the class by introducing themselves to each other lol! Love the vibe, the teachers and the cost. Highly recommend!

This studio is so dope! I've taken 3 classes here so far and I love it because it's really a healing focused studio. I'm not a fan of the traditional style flow that you can get in Houston. If you like to take time to feel into your poses, are a beginner, or suffer from injuries or pain, this is the studio for you. Amanda is really attentive, and knowlegeable. I've taken her gentle flow, and aerial beginnings class. If you're lucky you'll get to work with a partner in your aerial class for help in release poses. I also took Laurens Sunday class at 12. I'm glad I did because it's not only improved my running but also improved my strength, flexibility, balance and overall state of mind. I'm now a big fan!!

As a runner—flexibility and core strength are important to me. Amanda works that into every class. Classes aren’t large and Amanda is able to give personal attention to everyone during class. I leave every class feeling stronger, more flexible and more centered. Thanks Amanda!

I love going to Amanda Field's studio, Republic Yoga....it's bright and welcoming with beautiful skylights and a comfortable temperature. Amanda is incredibly knowledgeable with a diverse background in several styles of yoga. She takes the time to explain the mechanics behind poses and teaches to all levels. You get individual attention here that you won't get at a bigger studio. I'm happy to find this gem!

This is one space yoga TEACHERS need to visit in Houston to up-level their game. I always walk away from Amanda's classes with something for myself and something more for my students.

Amanda is amazing. She understands the importance of teacher-student relationships and builds on those relationships by asking the students about their personal yoga goals and needs. She also gives hands-on assistance to those who request and respects students who are uncomfortable with touching by giving great verbal cues to facilitate any class she teaches.
The studio size is great for individuals who want to go deeper into their practice and Amanda has profound knowledge on yoga breathing techniques, ansana benefits, as well as many tools, tips, and tricks for you to get there.
Come see for yourself!

She is great for folks like me who have very little idea what this yoga thing is about. And from what I can tell the more experienced folks get a lot out of it too. Like other reviews stated, she focuses your attention on breathing and giving your body the strength to achieve what it needs to be healthy. I would give her a sixth star for her cat that helps demonstrate the poses if I could.

Taking a yoga class from Amanda is the best thing you can do for yourself. Amanda always makes me feel welcome and she treats you like the intelligent person you are. She is able to help me understand a pose and actually feel and know when I am getting it. I have been to many studios and have taken classes from a variety of instructors, and I can unequivocably state that Amanda is the best instructor.
I also love the space at republic yoga. It is like home to me. I now look forward to going to my yoga classes and it is becoming a part of my routine. I finally understand what it means to practice "my yoga."
Try this studio and you will know what I mean. Namesta.

Amanda took over a morning yoga class where I had been practicing for a while, and I feel so fortunate for having met her. I've been practicing with her at other studios since 2012(?) and am absolutely thrilled that she has her own studio now! And my schedule has finally allowed me to take classes at Republic Yoga Studio! The studio has a very warm, welcoming atmosphere. I love the skylights that provide the natural lighting. Amanda is incredibly skilled and knowledgable about yoga, but what I adore about her is that she is so genuine, down-to-earth, and just overall awesome. Her style of teaching is creative, mindful of each individual's skill level, limitations, injuries etc., and always fresh. You will never get bored in her class because she is always incorporating new things into her classes, as she continues her own learning. Her attention to you and the adjustments she makes for you are so beneficial, and the essential oils she uses during shavasana are wonderful, such a nice touch. Highly recommend!

I love practicing yoga at The Warehouse with Amanda. Her teaching style is creative, fun, friendly and tailored to the needs of each individual class.
I really like her approach of starting in an easier version of a pose and then working towards a a more full expression for those who are able. This is very welcoming for less flexible yogis and integrates well with the more advanced practitioners.
A lot of focus and attention is given to correct form / body alignment with small enough class sizes to facilitate individual attention / adjustments where necessary.
What you won't find here is a formulaic class from someone who teaches yoga as a hobby or considers yoga as a fitness workout. What you will find is a talented teacher who obviously loves her job.

I've been enjoying Amanda Field's yoga instruction at Joy Yoga since the beginning of the calendar year. She is absolutely one of my favorite instructors and I'm incredibly pleased with the growth of my practice under her tutelage.
I recently had the opportunity to practice at Amanda's studio- Republic Yoga- and I wish I could arrange to practice there every day. I have always found Amanda's instruction warm, powerful, and healing; it was even more so in her own private space. Expect natural lighting, aromatherapy oils, and personal attention to alignment and accessing poses you find personally challenging.

This is my favorite studio with a great instructor. Amanda is an excellent teacher - throughout class she takes the time to teach what she knows about yoga - all of it. Not just about the physical vinyasas. She covers breathing (pranayama), meditation, etc, too. And she is quite skilled at designing the class around her students depending on everyone's skill levels, interests, injuries, etc.
This is the real deal! Amanda studies yoga extensively herself, has been teaching for a number of years, and so she has lots of information to share. The Warehouse is a cool space too - the neighbors are all artists, you practice on hardwood floors, and the overhead windows let in a really nice light. Try out a class - it is a very welcoming atmosphere.
