I’m a regular rower and dropped in for a 7am row Downtown while visiting Austin. It’s an amazing, hard workout and a beautiful view of the water. The coach paid close attention to everyone and encourages you individually. The class is very friendly and welcoming. I wish I lived here so I could come all the time! Pay attention to the parking instructions that they send when you sign up because parking is tricky in the area.

I am so grateful that I discovered Ro Fitness 7/8 years ago. I love the classes and because of their Ro to Go program I was able to continue rowing on a machine at home during Covid. The workouts are fun and challenging. I highly recommend checking out a class!

You aren't going to find a cardio group fitness workout with a better view! I am not an avid rower but I have taken rowing classes before, and it can be tough to make them challenging. Ro's method of racing against earlier versions of yourself is effective, and I always break a sweat. Connor seems to always notice when I space out or am otherwise not putting in the effort, and effectively pushes me to work harder. Plus I enjoy his playlists. Biggest downside of this place is how tricky it is to find parking, but it's downtown so I won't hold it against them. Plus they will validate a nearby garage so that it only costs $5. If you have trouble finding a form of cardio to stick with, I recommend giving this place a try!

I went to Ro with a colleague while on a business trip to Austin. A great, fun workout. The location on the river couldn't be better, and Chelsea is an excellent coach!

I am coming up on my two year Rō anniversary, having never really even considered rowing previous to my first "Intrō to Rō" class in July of 2021. Never previously rowed on a machine nor in a boat. Since my first class I've been attending classes about 3 times per week on average. On top of surpassing my fitness goals in record time, and discovering how strong I actually am, I'm most grateful for the community that Rō Fitness offers. It's deserving of the highly esteemed "Keep Austin Weird" category of small business. (Forget Soul Cycle or Barry's, if you really want an authentic to Austin (workout) experience, Rō Fitness is where it's at). I Rō at both locations: the coaches are amazing. What keeps me coming back: the strategy and community. It's not just a workout. Yes, you'll get fit, fast. But you'll also learn to understand your body in a way you never have before and you'll quickly build beautiful technique -- and before you know it, you'll know how to row. And on top of that, you'll make new friends too!

I discovered Ro Fitness (boathouse/downtown location).... 7 years ago (in 2016) and it truly changed my life...at least in regards to physical fitness. I have NEVER been a part of a workout and community like this in my life. It definitely transformed my strength and body within 6 months to a year, but more than that it has kept me active, engaged, and challenged (and yes, that is including through CoVid).

Plus, the views are INCREDIBLE. Great views, fun people, challenging work out that is full body and achievable at any level? What more could you want!

Took my first rowing 🚣‍♀️ Class on Saturday and the experience is worth writing a review for. The scenery was beautiful. Initially I thought the class would be indoors but it was actually on the patio outside overlooking the water, where they had high powered fans going at all times and a privacy screen. The instructor , Connor was very accommodating. He was aware of it being my first class and there was another individual there who was also taking there first class. He was so welcoming and made sure to be attentive and show us the euipemnet and proper form prior to the class starting. He was extremely personable and energetic and had a great vibe going throughout the whole class. He encouraged us to keep pushing in the best way and do our best. I left there feeling rejuvenated and motivated. I would definitely suggest checking out this rowing class on Saturday mornings, I know I would definitely take it again.

This is the workout you are looking for! If you are tired of the same old exercise classes, or pushing yourself on your own to improve, give RoFitness a try. It’s rowing on a ergometer in a class with others, and a coach who leads everyone. It’s tough but never boring, and you’ll find a welcoming community of good-natured rowers.

My favorite workout in Austin. The instructors are helpful and motivating and the waterfront gym is one of the coolest places I've ever worked out. Highly recommend.

I'm from out of town and wanted to find a fitness class while some gyms are still inaccessible and am so glad I stumbled across Rō Fitness!
It's been almost two years since I've been on a machine, but Chelsea, our instructor was welcoming, informative and got me over that 'awkward-new guy's feeling immediately.
Classes are currently held outside overlooking the river 🤩🤩 which is an amazing start to any day.
Can't wait to come back over the next few weeks!!

You will not find a more challenging workout or more encouraging coaches. Plus, the view from the downtown location is perfect.

This is truly a fun workout. It’s not easy to get right away. It takes 3 to 4 classes before you understand how to challenge yourself. And then once you do, it is an incredible cardio workout. Very much worth the effort and the people around you are so supportive.

Rō Fitness is awesome!! It is such a great workout that pushes you both physically and mentally. The instructors are fun, friendly and motivating. Love when the ergs are moved outside on the balcony so we can enjoy the nice weather and scenery while working out. A unique fitness class that is challenging, rewarding and will have you coming back for more.

I love Ro Fitness! It's a great workout and the instructors are all fantastic. They keep an eye on you to make sure you've got good form to keep you injury free. The workouts are a different theme each week which keeps it fresh and challenging. I've had hamstring issues for years and the rowing machine workouts have helped my hamstrings making me a stronger cyclist.

What a great place to get an upbeat, fun and most importantly demanding workout! I had never done any sort of rowing exercise prior to coming here and I have got to say its one of my favorite ways to workout now. Rowing machines also make it so that people of all fitness levels can enjoy a good workout, plus the instructors are incredibly helpful and accommodating making sure you feel comfortable throughout the class (book a session with Brooke for extra positivity and pep). The view overlooking the lake isn't bad either which makes getting up early at the crack of dawn a bit easier. Rotating workout focuses keep the classes fresh and interesting as well. I recommend signing up for the free week trial (Austin residents only) to get started.

I couldn't find this place. Tried to call no one picked up. Went to the Tarrytown location. It's just rowing on a machine it is nothing you can't do on your own at the gym. There are workouts like 1000m at 22/24/open and variations of that for the 55 min class but really nothing innovative.

It's really hard to beat a morning workout where you are outside on a dock overlooking the lake and watching the sunrise. Oh and also getting a great full body workout with some awesome people that I even like at 6am, and I don't like many people at 6am....

Ro is one of the best things that has happened to me for my overall fitness. The classes are ever changing, and never gets boring. The classes will challenge you every time, the exercise itself challenges all of your major muscle groups (legs, arms, core) and really tasks you aerobically. The format of the classes always pushes you to be better. Ro is a very complimentary exercise to other things you might be doing, it has improved my performance in my bike, my sprints and climbs are faster with greater endurance. You will find the culture of Ro to be very welcoming, kind, and supportive no matter whether you are starting.
