Rock Steady Boxing is a health and wellness program designed for people with Parkinson’s Disease. It’s based on a foundation of non-contact boxing, and it’s very effective for improving all of the symptoms that people with PD typically experience. We offer several classes at several different locations throughout the North Ft Worth area. We also have non contact boxing, kickboxing and strength training classes at our home base gym called the Lions den in the Saginaw Haslet area.

I’ve had Parkinson’s for almost ten years. I’ve done various exercise classes, but this boxing class is the most fun I’ve had! It’s nice working out with others who understand what you are going through. The coach (James) is awesome! He is patient, has a good sense of humor, and is knowledgeable. He usually has to repeat instructions to me because of the way my brain processes directions, but he never makes me feel incapable. He always finds a workaround if needed. I would recommend anyone with Parkinson’s to try this class out. The sooner you get started, the better for your body!

I started Rock Steady about a year ago. I had trouble with walking and balance. After taking James classes I have more confidence in my walking abilities. As my body gets stronger so is my mind. He changes up the classes so your body and mind get a workout every time. When I started he asked a lot of questions and seen what I could and couldn’t do. He help modify some of the exercises I was unable to do because of prior surgeries so that I am able to do every exercise, and every punch during our class. I highly recommend James at Rock Steady Boxing. He understands every day may be a challenge he just wants to help make it better. So for that 1 hour I don’t feel different and I look forward challenging my body and mind. It made a big difference for me.

Has someone with Parkinson's, I know from firsthand experience the importance of being active. Boxing is one of the best ways to be active, and Rock Steady Boxing is one of the best boxing ways to do it. Followed by a great trainer, James, who is very committed to his craft and his clients. This is a great 1,2, punch to follow!
