My daughter changed from Kung Fu, where she’s been learning since she was four, to Taekwondo at Master Lee’s school. She has two black belts in Kung fu and is now a 2nd Dan black belt here. The Masters are from Korea so teach them some language also.
My daughter loves it here, so much she doesn’t want to take a day off for a vacation. 😁

The teachers in the class devote their attention equally to all the kids and are always aware of where the student's are. My son is generally distracted and I appreciate all the one on one time he gets with the coaches to get him back on track. The overall setup and the focus on discipline is what we were looking forward to gain from the class. In addition master Lee is an excellent teacher and we are very happy to have our kid learn under her tutelage!

My son loves this place! It's been about three months for him and my 4 year son is having so much fun. The coach teaches kids more than Taekwondo. The discipline, etiquette and respect starts when you enter the door. This place has the best coach and always maintain the place clean which I feel safe during this time. My son has been practicing Taekwondo here for almost a year now. Master Lee and the rest of her team of instructors are so awesome! They help nurture the life lessons of what we’ve been teaching our kids at home. Manners, self respect, respect for others, self control, self confidence, etc. I took Taekwondo when I was a kid too. Master Lee and her instructors are so great with all of the students. And when the pandemic hit, they went above and beyond to keep everyone feeling safe. And continue to accommodate so many students with offering lessons over Zoom or smaller in-person classes. As soon as I have a chance, I plan on signing myself up for the adult classes to pick up where I left off so many years ago.

I had always wanted to learn taekwondo but never had the chance until I heard about SJ Lee Taekwondo. This was a great opportunity for me as it was very close to where I lived while also being very affordable. Not only are the masters great teachers, but they are also super kind and understanding. You learn a lot about taekwondo and self discipline while also having a great time with your peers. 2 best decision that I have made for my kid – hands down – TAKEWANDO and SJ Lee !!. The decision was very serendipitous, We are now 6+ months into it and in Green BELT!.
We had passed by SJ Lee classes many a times, I thought I should stop talk and see. A lot of things about them were very different from that moment. Very courteous, Very humble masters, Clean and open class areas. I explained my kid is not just athletically gifted and has a ton of gross motor issues. I asked if they would still like to take him on. They gladly singed him up for the trial class. There was a free 5 classes that they offered. At the end of it we signed up. There has been no looking back. He has transformed as a person and in his skills. What 2+ years of therapy could not help, Master SJ Lee, Master Shin, Master Yu and Master Kim have delivered hands on. He is confident, more flexible, way more coordinated, much better all around.
They have plenty of class timing options along with family class options. Master Lee, is a perfect embodiment of TAKEWANDO stands for – the whole person (Mind and Body). ALL masters are there in all the classes, HAPPY to be there and instilling confidence in a cheerful, kind and firm way. Once they are in super yellow belt, the kids can lead the warm up sessions for each class. It was so exciting for my kid to wait for his turn. That really gives them a kick out of leading the class. When they master a skill or perform it better than they could better, the Master calls it out, the recognition makes them aim higher and builds confidence.
Every belt test, they get the teachers and the parents to rate the kid behavior at home and in school, like simple things like making their bed, being disciplined, doing their chores. It just sets out the masters expectation of the kids, the kids really aim to get all As in that, cause they get recognized in front of the whole class for getting all As in their teacher/ parents report. The positive reinforcement of courtesy is one thing that stands out, the act of saying THANK YOU in every single instance (after warm ups, after finishing their kicking etc.), the mutual respect and courtesy is demanded and relentlessly enforced, it becomes second nature to the kid soon. Right from helping each other put on their gears to bowing after each classes to each of the masters, to each other and the parents. All classes are cheerful and even keeled with her firm guidance. I know these are all soft aspects not the hard core – kicks and forms, but this is what sets Takewando apart. SJ Lee just makes sure that the true TAKEWANDO is what she imparts to each and every one of her kids.
They are very very dedicated set of masters under head master Lee, they are happy cheerful team, willing to go the extra mile for each kid to learn their technique, they are extremely vested in the success of your kid.
Family classes can be a lot of people and they manage it so masterfully, that each student gets the individual and group attention that they need. We have never had one single bad class.
My kid was being bullied at school, SJ Lee even had a talk with him on how he could cope with those situations. It was even more heart warming when she followed up with him and checks with him on how it is going at school.
Oh did I mention that she is a gold medal winner herself in many many competitions and trains the kids for Olympics too?. While not all are going to make it to the Olympic, the fact that you can go to her for everything truly sets her apart. I know of many happy friends who like her classes. That is just another kudos to her.

I am grateful that Master Lee made accommodations for my son, who is autistic, to be trained in SJ Lee. He was termed "not ready" for class in another taekwando school. We love Taekwondo at S J Lee Taekwondo! I attend family classes with my son, sister and two nephews and my sister. We all love the classes and look forward to the next class each time! This is a great workout for all of us and teaches our kids focus, discipline, self control and respect.

Master Lee and Master Shin are excellent teachers and Taekwondo Champions! They offer extra opportunities by allowing us to attend competitions and teaching advanced techniques. We also have the privilege of learning from visiting Masters from South Korea and watching amazing demonstrations from visiting schools.

Im a student/junior instructor here and it wasnt as bad as i first thought it would be. Its helps your child to earn respect and confidence. My 4-year-old son started going to SJ Lee Taekwondo about 3 weeks ago. He loves it! This place opened only a few months ago and does not have many students yet, but I'm sure they will have more very soon. I ended up signing 6-month contract and it is well worth it so far. My son is learning so much - not only physical martial art part, but also positive attitude and great manners. Both instructors do care about kids and lead classes very smooth. Love the place.
