Following my initial complimentary class, I felt confident that I had found the gym I had been searching for. The well-structured workouts are tailored to deliver results, no matter what your individual goals may be. Coach Jason is truly exceptional; his feedback is invaluable and greatly enhances the experience for anyone aiming to achieve their objectives.

In a world that often prioritizes appearance over health, the journey towards wellness can feel overwhelming, especially for those of us who have faced the challenges of obesity. I know firsthand how daunting it can be to confront the mirror and see a reflection that doesn’t align with your aspirations. However, it’s important to remember that every journey begins with a single step, and for me, that step was asking for help at Savage Fitness.
Deciding to start training was both exhilarating and terrifying. The idea of working with a coach brought a mix of hope and fear—hope for a healthier future and fear of judgment. But what I discovered was a world of support, encouragement, and understanding. My trainer Kyle became more than just a coach; he became my partner in this transformative journey.
Alright, let’s talk about that first month. The first day was a piece of cake. The coach had me do some strength tests, and I was like, "Cool, I got this." But then I showed up the next day, and he totally switched up my workout. I managed to finish it and walked out okay, but man, the pain was brutal later that day. I had to drag myself out of bed just to hit the bathroom that night.
After about two weeks, things started to get a bit better. I could work out without feeling like I was dying. But of course, the coach decided to crank up the workouts. There was one day I got home and couldn’t even put my hair up in a bun after a shower.
Let’s just say I’ve silently cursed at him a few times—definitely not just at home, but during our sessions too!
I’ve had one big goal besides losing weight: I want to be able to lift my almost 5-year-old granddaughter. At the end of my first month, I was able to lift her with the techniques I was taught. It was absolutely amazing, and I felt even more motivation.
On the 22nd of October, I went for my follow-up at the doctor’s office. He kindly told me that all the pain I felt in my body was pretty normal for someone who has never worked out. I lost 22 pounds, which he also said was normal due to my size, and I shouldn’t expect that level of weight loss for the next month.
I've cursed Kyle's name way too many times, but I gotta give him some credit too. I've never actually said thanks to his face because I still need someone to curse at. So, consider this review my way of saying "thank you!"

I just want to give major kudos and a shoutout to my coach, Jason Adams, at Savage Fitness San Antonio for always pushing me but who is also aware enough to know my limitations, even when I don’t. I started my CrossFit/HYROX/DEKA gym-journey nearly a month ago, scared and not knowing a single exercise. Weak as hell, I struggled with the minimums. In these past few weeks, I’ve learned so much about fitness, myself, and have continued to climb higher each week with my willingness to learn and not give up on myself. Jason doesn’t let me give up on myself and he is tough as hell but also extremely encouraging and patient with me.
Savage Fitness is full of supportive, encouraging, knowledgeable members who help push each other and root for each other. I am glad that I have found this gym and have become part of the Savage Fitness family!
Thanks, Coach!!!
P.S. Savage Fitness is located off Galm Rd./Shaenfield area. I encourage ya’ll to check it out and join the family.
