They are indeed a real boxing gym, excellent for the family or the individual. A little too pricey.
However, don't expect to reach them without physically going in,as they don't have a good phone number and don't return messenger messages. They also don't have good hygiene amenities....so you better carry a towel for your vehicle seat.

Excellent coach who is truly passionate about teaching and understands the science of boxing. Coach Steve gives relevant drills and lessons and takes the time to correct and give pointers to each student during the class.

I've been to gyms all over the US and most head coaches will only do this for their select fighters or only if you shell up $$$ for private lessons.

He truly loves the sport and this gym is an excellent place to improve your skills in boxing. It's also a fun way to get in shape while learning a new skill.

The gym fee is 100% worth it.

I paid for a whole month for this gym for my nephew, started great. One practice of sparring and a student didn’t want to spare but got in the ring anyway and complained my nephew was “too strong” but continued to say he wanted to spar. My nephew lightened up on his technique and the guy came at him full force, but continued to complain if my nephew returned the force....it’s boxing—your gonna get hit. My nephew leaves and is then painted as a villain because he got frustrated with the guy that was complaining. After trying to connect with Slava, he paints my nephew as a bad person and threatened to call the cops anytime my nephew wanted to discuss the event. No communication, just quick judgment and a threat of police for no reason! Would never recommend this gym.

I have been coming to Slava for about two and a half years now.

This is not a cardio “boxing” gym - though it is a great work out. You will learn the skill of boxing at the fundamental and advanced level. You will learn punches, rhythm, footwork, and defense techniques. If you choose to spar, you can do that too. The coaches are very knowledgeable and the pricing is fair. If you’re on the fence, come check it out. You’ll be glad you did.

Been coming here twice or three times a week for almost 2 years, first for the 6 Week Fundamentals class, and then for White Collar Boxing. Prior to that, I had a SERIOUS health scare brought on by a stressful work lifestyle and terrible personal health habits. At any rate, since I discovered Slava, the workout here has helped me drop about 50 lbs, greatly improved my stamina, my strength, my mental confidence, mood, and just general well being! This place is a great old-school boxing gym and environment. No frills, no pressure, just solid technique and instruction. Highly recommended - great place, great people, and a desire to help you succeed in your goals!

I can't say enough good things about this place. When I first started coming to Slava Boxing, I didn't know the first thing about boxing and was as out of shape physically as I was mentally. Slava, Sergio, Jesse, and everyone at the gym gave me a place to go to where I could feel not only welcome and wanted, but also feel like I was being pushed in a way that I couldn't do for myself. They put me outside of my comfort zone, while also highly respecting that comfort zone, and I never felt like I was either being babied nor being forced to go beyond what I thought was right for me. This kind of atmosphere can be built only on tons of expertise, years of experience, and a love for boxing, for fitness, and for other people– all of which Slava Boxing has in abundance. No matter who you ar, where you're coming from, or what success looks like to you– there's a place for you here.

When I first signed up, I thought I was going to give up after a month because I knew nothing about boxing and was so sore afterwards. I’ve been training here since November 2015 and this is the best gym I’ve ever been to for a couple of reasons.

First of all the workouts. These are very demanding and you will be pushed hard by the trainers. I attend the evening session that is led by Richard. Brian does the morning. They vary the workout so through the week you get a mixture of aerobic and high intensity anaerobic exercises plus technical sessions working on combinations and technique. One of the things I really like is how we do a lot of circuit training also using crossfit style workouts such as tire flips and speed ladders working on power and endurance. Personally I am a lot leaner since I joined Slava and certainly fitter.

Secondly the club environment is great there. Coaches and people working out get to know each other by first name. I really look forward to it every evening I go. The group size isn’t too big and working out in a group does bring out a bit more competition to push you harder!

I've been going here for personal training for about 2.5 years now and I can't recommend it enough. I've competed athletically for the better part of my life (both at the collegiate level and professional level) so I've been around a variety of different workout systems. In my opinion, training in boxing is the best way to get a combination of upper body strength, core workout and cardio. Steve and his team have done a wonderful job in improving my skills and I can see a night and day difference from where I began and am now.

I love coming here for the white collar boxing program. It's not a mass cardio boxing class where everyone is doing the same repetitive bag combinations. It's a real boxing gym and programs are personalized to your fitness and skill level. I have learned so much in the few months that I have been coming and am getting in great shape. Highly recommended.
