Had a lesson yesterday with Matt Lohmeyer and it was really good. Matt showed me that I have a good swing and that if was my arms that was the missing link. I needed to learn my arms should move in swinging the club and it was not in the way that I was doing it. Once I learned what Matt was showing me I was hitting very consistent shots with every club in my bag!! Hats off to Matt Lohmeyer for recognizing what really needed to be fixed!!! I have always wanted to achieve this look and thanks to Matt I now can and improve upon it!!

I had an incredible experience working with Matt Lohmeyer at SlicGolf. He was able to make small adjustments to my swing within minutes, and the difference was immediate. During each swing, he gave simple cues that were easy to follow and kept me focused without overloading me with information. Been going to Slic Golf for about 6 weeks now. Been working with Matt and he is an awesome teacher. I have added between 10 and 30 yards to my irons and am hitting the ball much straighter as well. Using the technology in the indoor practice facility is great. Both Matt and Adrian can show you data on the screens and explain to you what you are doing wrong with your swing which makes it much easier to understand and correct. The facility itself has 4 simulators as well as 2 clean bathrooms if needed. 24/7 access so you can go hit balls literally anytime you want and as many times as you want if you do the membership. I highly recommend SlicGolf for anybody truly interested in improving their golf game by simply following the instruction given and putting some time in to improve your game. Great place.

I worked with Matt Lohmeyer in September 2024, at Mansfield National Golf Club.

What to expect when you arrive: SLICGOLF occupies space on one end of the Mansfield National driving range, you will see the SLICGOLF branded pop up tents.

Prior to lesson/warmup: It is good to communicate your expectations with Matt/Adrian, and what issues you may be facing. They are open to working with what you have, and will not force wholesale changes on someone that plays recreationally and does not have the time to completely rehaul their swing. He does not force every person into a mold.

What to expect in your lesson: range balls are provided, and an iPad is used to video and analyze your swing. As you review your swing in that iPad program, it captures audio as you discuss what is being looked at. These videos are sent to you when the lesson is concluded. Matt’s communication during the lesson is good, and his demeanor is friendly. He does not talk down to the student.

As you wrap up the lesson: have clear consensus on what is being worked on, and 1-2 things will be highlighted that will help on what was worked on.

Conclusion: definitely recommend. I personally enjoy taking lessons from someone that is also a strong player, and Matt is that. A teacher doesn’t have to be good at golf to be a good teacher, but Matt happens to be both. Golf lessons are a lot like diets to help you lose weight…they pretty much all work, but YOU have to do the work. Taking a lesson and never working on what was prescribed will lead to zero improvement. I would encourage anyone looking for some swing help to give Matt a chance and see if he suits your style and approach.

I have worked with Matt for a few years now and he has helped my game tremendously. I used to be the worst among my group of friends and now I’m one the strongest and most consistent players. I’ve had lessons in the past elsewhere and they don’t compare. Many older coaches still don’t use video and it is hard to see what they are saying and tough sometimes to believe them. Combining video and their experience, I get honest and real time feedback I can’t dispute with each lesson as well as things to work on between lessons. I can also text for some feedback between lessons. Lastly, I now know how to diagnose most of my swing mistakes when the wheels feel like they are coming off the bus which is tremendously helpful so I don’t have to get pissed when I’m having a rough day on the course. I highly recommend Matt and Adrian for lessons.
