we been coming to this gym for years and only since lately it’s been the worst experience ever. my daughter moved up to level 4 which they only have on saturday and i expressed we couldn’t make it but tried and she missed 2+ plus of classes so they paused our payments until she catches up but the teacher for level distances my daughter because she’s the only black girl in the class and this prior saturday it happened again and the girl they have working the front desk is ruder than the teacher . they refuse to give us a refund because my daughter will never be returning

We enrolled our daughter for the summer camp sessions and she loved it! staff were friendly and welcoming. signing up was easy and you can tell they really care about the kids and take good care of them. My daughter was happy everyday when I picked her up and is asking to go back for more sessions.

We are new and only been there couple times. They do have to many different coaches , the one couch does seem pissed off all the time , front desk does not greet you or even smile , it's obvious they have favorites and single my child out .

I can’t say enough good things about Stars Gymnastics! After trying other places, we finally found the perfect fit for our daughter here. The facility is well-maintained and has a positive, encouraging atmosphere. The staff is incredibly friendly and always goes above and beyond to make every gymnast feel valued.

A huge shoutout to Coach Butch—he has truly been a game-changer for our daughter. Not only does he teach exceptional technique and skills, but he also takes the time to instill important life lessons in the girls. His approach is so much more than just gymnastics; he teaches them about hard work, perseverance, and kindness. It’s clear he cares about their development both as athletes and as individuals.

Our daughter has grown not only in her gymnastics abilities but also in confidence and character, thanks to Coach Butch’s guidance. We are so grateful for everything Stars Gymnastics has provided—this is truly a special place! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place that nurtures both athletic and personal growth.

I was a gymnast here and other Houston gyms from 2002- 2009. Coaches were terribly abusive. Rampant bullying. The owner, Dan, would throw full blown temper tantrums terrifying everyone. As an adult, I can see how abusive the coaches were when I look back. Equipment would be thrown in anger at the slightest mistake. I was forced to practice on injuries because “it was all in my head”. And now my knees and ankles are permanently damaged. Hope it’s different now or your kid might end up with a large therapy bill.

We were from out of state and in town for Nationals in Galveston. This was the only Gym we could find that would allow my child to drop in and practice. The staff was very polite and we greatly appreciate the hospitality.

Waste of time and money. Coach seems like he hates his job. Kids spend more than half the time just jumping on trampoline and running around. When doing a skill the kids take turn one at a time and there's a lot of dead time. My daughter did not learn anything new. She learned more from YouTube. Now she goes to Biron's gymnastics and its exactly what it should be.

Excellent instructors. This place might not be brand new but it is a fantastic place to send your children. Plenty of room and more than enough areas for them to get and do every aspect of gymnastics. We're thankful for being able to send our niece here to begin doing gymnastics. Very impressed with the training and conditioning they teach the kids because they make incredible improvements each week.

The owners at the gym are totally corrupt, and they only care about money money money. The coaches are generally the same, and they also seem to have some sort of psychology that bullying and comparing gymnasts to other gymnasts will help them improve. Not to mention, the equipment is duct taped together, coaches change so often its hard to keep track, the schedules are completely insane, and the gym expects you to give up your life for a sub-par gym that is so greedy it risks gymnasts' safety and health. What's more ridiculous is that there is another gym, referred to as the Katy gym. That gym has brand new equipment, all the best coaches, including the owners, and all the best gymnasts. Those all came from the Houston gym, leaving the Houston gym in shambles. The equipment at the Houston gym is duct-taped together while the Katy one has brand new, perfect equipment. The absurd amount of money put into the Houston gym all goes towards the Katy gym, and instead of the leftovers going towards the Houston gym or making happier employees, they go towards the owners.

My 10 year old daughter has been attending Stars for almost 2 years. The experience has been positive from the beginning. She is shy, but the trainers take a real interest in each of the girls and make them feel comfortable and welcomed. Once she started getting bored in the level she was in, the attendants/coaches moved her up and kept her challenged and engaged. I can see the difference in her confidence since attending Stars. My 4 year old started attending 1 year ago and looks forward to her class every week. The class has been a great way for her to follow instructions and also be challenged in an environment outside of school. Coach Butch is one of the best. Always so positive with the girls -- but most of the coaches there are as well. The front desk staff is great! Always so helpful and accommodating. My only critique would be that the bathrooms needs to be kept up with a little more. It's and old building, so i get they are not shiny and new, but could still use a little attention. Otherwise...i would recommend this place to anyone!

At first we loved the gym! My daughter still love and miss coach Dana! but she took vacations and the last 3 weeks were just TERRIBLE! the worst thing was... 1 day my husband went with my daughter and the new coach took my daughter's arms and put her out (over the fence) TOTALLY OFFENSIVE! then, she said it was because I didn't paid! come on.. 2 weeks before they charged me.. because they do it in advance!! the person in the front desk was very sorry for the inconvenience since OF COURSE I PAID ON TIME! but we immediately left the gym. I don't recommend it AT ALL!

I love it, but unfortunately my daughter had issue with just one of the coaches. But overall, it was an amazing experience. She was there for 3 years but we moved her because we bought a house quite far from the gym. If it wasn't the small problem she had with that one coach, I would had given them a 5 star.

This gym does not do/care much for boys gymnastics. They concentrate mostly on girls, so why to have boy's team if you don't care...?

I went to pick up my granddaughters, and no one greeted me, no one asked who I was, no one asked my name or for any identification, they just pushed a clip board in front of me and said sign them out. They don't know who I was, if I had permission to remove them, if I had intentions on kidnapping them or any ill intentions towards them, they just let me walk right out the door with them. I called and asked to speak with whom was in charge and spoke with a Dawn and explained the aforementioned and expressed my disdain with the pick up experience, and her response was I understand and will go over this with the staff. I guess she thought I had hung up and I could hear her say my goodness... Totally unacceptable, my grandchildren won't be back.

My two daughters have been at Stars for almost three years. We had a great experience for a long time, but since the fall we have not been pleased. Coaches change all the time - I lost count of how many coaches we have had this school year. The coaching inconsistency has meant my girls haven't learned anything this year. The front desk staff is awesome, but I think there have to be better options in Houston.

This place is terrible the service on the front desk was terrible!! It's dirty half the coaches are middle aged and don't teach good at all!! We are willing to go a much longer drive to a different gymnastics instead of star gymnastics and the parents seating is so small!!

I enrolled my daughter there cause some of her school friends go there..what a bad experience...front desk attendant totally unfriendly and not helpful , not a great attitude at all.. I would say half of the coaches are middle aged men that can be school teachers and but not little girls gymnastic coaches!! My ten-year-old girl told me that the coach stopped the work out for 3 or 4 minutes looking at the girl as a disciplinary procedure for not listening.... this is insane
Seating for parents very limited... going back to my old gymnastic place..I will drive the longer drive to be in my old gymnastic ...

Could be a great Gym if they ran it like Discover. At discover gymnastics we felt like family. My daughter excelled and the coaches were amazing. At Star its all business and their front of the house staff is simply terrible. My experience is obviously not typical but at this point I would say look around. If you want the whole experience, Star doesn't make it happen.

I started taking my daughter here in transition from ballet, and I was worried that she wouldn't be put on the spot much because she shy. But I was wrong, the instructors/ traners pay attention to each girl in the group and are very welcoming to beginners. Price is great compared to some I've seen and the front desk staff is great. Thanks yall ;)

Disinterested/distracted coaches...to the point that my child(6) was injured. I spoke with the owner regarding what I witnessed and how my child's ribs were hurt. No real interest displayed, but my child was moved to another class. Although the teacher seemed more engaged than the previous one (who had her back turned to her students while on bar equipment), it still was sub par instruction. The coaches seem bored and even angry. Maybe an older child can navigate the crowded environment and indifferent coaching style, but it's not a happy environment for younger children.
