Great place! I started with very little knowledge about weight lifting and Brittany has been great! She takes the time to make sure I am safe and doing what I need to do to be successful. Highly recommend!

This place is awesome! It’s my second week and I train in Austin but had to travel for work to San Antonio. My coach arrange for me to drop in to Starting Strength in San Antonio. Matt Herbert coached me and it was great.

I’ve never lifting weights but this guys make it easy. As they always say, all I’ve got to do is show up, eat and sleep well and they will take care of the rest.

Anyone, if you are thinking and wanting to be stronger, don’t wait. I hate exercise and am super unfit but I enjoy it and it’s making me so much healthier. And it’s at a price much much lower than other forms of personal training. I looked at 5,6 places before I found this one.

Highly highly recommended!!

As a 54 year old woman, I must admit that I was just a little intimidated about working out in a space that looks like it's a training ground for Olympic weight lifters. Boy, was I ever wrong. From start to finish, the entire coaching staff were attentive, patient, and made sure that I felt comfortable. Any necessary modifications were made to adjust to my strength level, previous injuries, and technique. I've been going 3 times per week for the last two months and am amazed at the progress I've made in such a short amount of time. Brittany is an excellent coach and I appreciate her diligence in balancing my progress with safely reaching my strength goals!

This is the first gym that all personal trainers have Masters level training and I've had the same personal trainer for almost a year. I have chronic issues that he knew immediately how to treat. They also understand how to modify training during and post physical therapy.

Starting Strength and coach Matt have been life-changing in my recovery after spinal fusion surgery. For years before the surgery, I couldn’t walk or exercise due to severe spinal issues, and I feared I’d never regain an active life. At almost 50, starting from scratch post-surgery was daunting, but Matt’s expertise made it possible. He designed a safe, progressive program tailored to my condition, focusing on lifts like squats, overhead press, bench press, deadlifts, and rack pulls.

With his meticulous form corrections and encouragement, I’m now training three times a week and lifting weights I never imagined, like 300+ lbs squats and rack pulls, all while staying pain-free. The gym’s structured approach and supportive vibe gave me the confidence to rebuild my strength.

Thanks to Starting Strength and Matt, I’m stronger than ever and living a life I thought was gone forever. Highly recommend to anyone, especially those recovering from an injury!

Clean nice lifting gym with a great set up. Strictly weight lifting no other equipment. I've worked with Britney & head coach Matt, both are awesome & everyone welcome. Rehabbing injuries & in 3 mo I've healed 1 of 3 tears on my rotator & increased my strength & functional fitness. If you're looking for a get down to business gym that will teach you how to properly lift & avoid injuries this gym is for you. Having all your lifts coached makes a huge difference & if strength is what you seek then stop in.

My brother told me about a new gym he joined, and was ecstatic about the personal attention the coaches gave him. I have only had five training sessions and I am very pleased with the quality of the instruction, cleanliness of the gym and the friendliness of the staff and other clients. If you were looking to build strength in a safe environment, this could be the place for you.

Starting Strength San Antonio has been my oasis for the past 5 months now. From the beginning all the coaches have been nothing but professional, competent, kind and welcoming. No matter what age, experience or background you will find a home at Starting Strenght San Antonio.

I have been working online with Matt Hebert for a year now, and more recently I was in SA for a week and managed to get three sessions in person. If I were living in SA, I wouldn't dream going anywhere else. We've also been working around an injury of mine and Matt's insights have been invaluable. Everyone I've met is also very personable.

Okay, so on my first day at this gym I stumbled in with the grace of a newborn giraffe and the confidence of a seasoned weightlifter. Let me tell you, folks, I was wrong on both counts.

Picture this: A group of silver foxes and wise owls, folks who probably remember when Arnold Schwarzenegger was just a puny little Schwarzenberry. Yet here they were, deadlifting like it was a casual stroll in the park. Meanwhile, I'm over here, convinced that my back would resemble a pretzel if I so much as looked at a barbell.

But oh boy, did this gym prove me wrong! They took me under their muscular wings and taught me that age ain't nothing but a number. Sure, my knees creaked like an old rocking chair at first, but with their guidance, I learned proper form faster than you can say 'protein shake.'

So if you're like me, thinking you already knew it all about weight lifting since you’d already been coached prior to this, or too broken to lift weights again, think again. This gym will not only whip your body into shape but also lift your spirits higher than your max deadlift. Who needs a chiropractor when you've got a gym full of wise-cracking weightlifters? Sign me up for a lifetime membership, folks!

I had the opportunity to train with Joseph at Starting Strength San Antonio yesterday. The gym is in pristine condition - the equipment is of the highest caliber and has been chosen to make heavy barbell training as streamlined and efficient as possible. Thanks to Matt, the Head Coach of the gym for running a smooth operation.

Joseph’s 20+ years of experience training and his coaching insight is incredibly valuable - within one 90 minute session he tuned up my squat, press, and deadlift. He reviewed my recent training progress and selected weights that would be appropriate for me to attempt with him given my recent travel, lack of sleep, and less than optimal nutrition that comes with being the parent of a toddler on a road trip.

I highly recommend Starting Strength, the San Antonio gym, as well as Joseph as a coach.

Good and Expensive. Clear results.

Overall recieved what seemed like good coaching and met nice people. I feel confident in squat, press, and bench press but not deadlift.

Gym appeared very clean.

Great jump-start to get into or back into lifting.

No hidden fees, though you cannot start monthly membership ($405) until after a mandatory 1 on 1 coaching session ($185) and 1 week/3 sessions of optional training (free), which is not stated on the website untill you click all the way through to sign up for a membership.

No sales desk but you will get phone calls, voice-mail, slack messages, and texts from more than one person.🙃

It's worth it if you value accountability, coaching, the idea that spending that kind of money will make you want to make the most out of it, and if you can conform to their schedule. Otherwise, if you don't value those - it's simple programming you can get from the starting strength book, app or youtube and you can get all equipment necessary for the cost of the intro and 1 month membership.

10/10 would recommend and have recommended, would do again, hopefully with a discount.

Been going here for about a month. It has been great! In the past I have joined gyms went a few times and eventually stopped going.

This is completely different. They put you on a barbell program, they take care of everything from calculating your warm-up sets to deciding what your max is for that day. While you are lifting the coaches are correcting stance and form. Extremely newbie friendly, they make barbell training very approachable taking time to explain why they want you doing it in a certain stance vs. another.

Matt is an incredible coach/trainer. He takes the time and effort to make sure you are not only doing it correctly, but making sure you understand why you are doing it a certain way. If I had tried to do this by myself I would have been injured and given up.

Another big plus is that everyone there is super cool, no ego. Everyone is just as happy for the person squatting the barbell as they are for the person squatting 300 lbs.

I started here about 3 months ago because I wanted to pick up lifting but had always found it inaccessible as somebody with no history of training or athletics, and I already feel much more comfortable with weights and more coordinated in physical activity in general. The coaches are friendly, helpful, and made it easy to understand how to do the exercises properly. I was put off by the price at first, but in hindsight it was definitely worth it and I can't recommend it enough.

i found out about starting strength in about 2017 and started the exercises by reading some of the the books and watching youtube videos. I started with just focusing on form, but limited myself to deadlift and squat and chinups for some time. I heard about starting strength opening up in san antonio a year ago and was pretty excited. I have a significant injury on my forearm and wrist and i wanted to challenge my self in building strength because i was noticing that i was gaining some rotation and additional movment just from the workouts on my own, but I hit a wall and i knew i could do more upper body but needed coaches who were willing to work with me improve my form and work through my injury. The coaches definitely know there stuff regarding body mechanics and im constantly asking questions to get to know how it all works.I finally took the leap and joined about 3 weeks ago. To me this is about getting stronger but also about regaining some range of motion in my wrist and right arm in which i have been even if its a degree or two. Truth be told its a way to make day to day activities with loved ones a lot more enjoyable, whether is playing soccer and running with my nephews to taking a hike with a friend. Im realistic of course with my injury and the possible limitations that come with it, but im excited about how this can really improve my overall day to day life and specifically range of motion in my arm. I highly recommend starting strength to anyone whether its post injury or even if its just to get stronger and improve your overall stamina and balance and just vitality for life itself.

I bought the Starting Strength book years ago and used the app off and on over the years. I have wished I could train with an SSC ( Starting Strength Coach). I was thrilled when I went to PJ's coffee one Sunday and noticed that Starting Strength San Antonio was open right next door.

I joined that week and have been working out there for 2 months now. I have appreciated the welcoming environment the gym offers - it's a great community! - and the patient professionalism of the coaches - I ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS LOL :)

I'm 50 and my goals is to hit the 1000 pound club this year and I am confident it's going to happen at Starting Strength San Antonio!

After finding the Starting Strength method, I began my journey as a solo student eager to learn but with limited experience in proper execution of the major lifts. I tried running through a series of linear progressions, all of which met with disaster. I would typically encounter a limiting arm/elbow injury around the same level each time. I would stop and allow proper time for the injury to heal, but it would always reoccur around the same point in my linear progression.

I was excited to see a proper Starting Strength gym open in San Antonio, staffed with knowledgeable coaches who might be able to help me with my situation. During my first gym visitation the coaches asked detailed questions regarding my past training history/experience and what my intended goals were regarding my future training. This was refreshing to see to say the least. They were genuinely invested in helping my break the cycle of repeated injury I found my self in time and time again.

After the first few sessions my coach, Matt, suggested we focus on altering the squat grip I had been using to help ease the strain on my elbows. While squatting, I had been so focused on not reinjuring my arms I had severely let my squat technique languish. Matt was very observant and helpful pointing out the inefficiencies I had created in my squat movement. As the training weight progressed higher and higher, Matt continuously reinforced the necessary ques to help me get back on track while keeping my elbows healthy.

Thankfully, since my arm pain has subsided I have made unseen progress in my other lift. Matt has been coaching me through the finer details of the overhead press, bench press and deadlift which I never would have picked up on without his guidance. The addition of these small improvements matter a great deal once the weight gets heavy enough. This is why I am so grateful to have a Starting Strength Certified Coach, such as Matt, oversee my training.

Let me put it to you this way – I have made more substantial gains in 2 months time by joining this gym than I have buying protein powders, supplements and simply trying to lift by myself at home in 3 years time. The crew at San Antonio Starting Strength are not simply coaches, but they are teachers and experts in their craft!!!!

I started working out here about 3 months ago. I had never done any serious weight lifting and I wanted to learn how to do it correctly. I had tried on my own a few times but always ended up pushing too hard and injuring myself. My experience at the San Antonio location has been fantastic. All the coaches are great, special shout out to Matt for working with me the most. I have increased my strength tremendously but even more importantly, all the backaches and neck aches I used to get from “sleeping wrong” or back tweaks from lifting something heavy have completely vanished. It just doesn’t happen anymore. I have a lot more energy and I feel more alert. If you are thinking about getting back in shape this is a great place to start.

I starting training at Starting Strength approximately 5 months ago. When I started I was using the "Box" to complete a squat and the 10lb bar (which seemed very heavy) in my training. Now I us the 45lb bar for my workout and can bench press over 60lbs. I no longer need the "Box" to do a proper squat. I recently moved myself to a new apartment, moving approximately 95% of my belongings alone from a second floor apartment.

Without attending Starting Strength, I would never have been able to accomplish my move. Starting Strength, meets you where you are and challenges you each time to lift a little more weight. I now set goals for myself and enjoy working out at the facility. The coaches are friendly and helpful. You get to meet a lot of new people who will cheer you on and encourage your efforts. Sometimes all it takes is people cheering for you to go to the next level in your weight training.

This has been a life changing experience for me I recently had my 62nd birthday and I've never been stronger, Thanks Starting Strength.

After one month in, I'm happy with my time at Starting Strength. I do the 1x/week plan and go on Saturdays, and it works well. I can workout knowing I'm being taught proper and safe form, that I will receive constructive feedback from the coaches, and that the workouts will progress as I do.

I have only worked with Victoria as far as the coaches go, but her friendliness and knowledge have made it a great experience. Since classes are small, she is able to give constant advice on how to improve. I also learn about working out since I can ask her questions about what we're doing. As a 1x/week member, she gives me a plan to follow for the rest of the week until I come back to the gym.

The gym itself is very clean and organized, and the environment itself is very welcoming. I'm taught how to use anything that I would need for the workout, and there's enough space and plates for me to use at each station.

Overall, I'm very pleased with Starting Strength San Antonio, and I am optimistic the things I learn and gain from my time here will help supplement my other fitness goals.

Following up to my enquiry about training while visiting San Antonio from out of state, Victoria and her staff made me feel like a member of the community before I even arrived.

As a solo lifter experienced with the program and recently recovered from spine surgery, I needed form corrections while I completed a workout and I got exactly what I needed: closing the (significant) gap between what I thought I was doing and what I was actually doing so that I could continue lifting heavy safely.
While my wife is acquainted with the program and has lifted, she needed new trainee instruction including addressing some specific challenges.
Victoria provided both these with the expertise of an experienced Starting Strength Coach - concurrently. Even after our training time had finished and I was finishing my last set, Matt stepped in and provided more detailed instruction in exactly the form I needed.

The facility itself is a Starting Strength Gym: a facility specifically designed for getting strong safely. It is clean, well laid out, perfectly lit, free of all the things which make other gyms unpleasant (of which there are many), and full of only the best equipment needed for the job and the people qualified to instruct how to use it to get stronger safely and rapidly.
It's not cheap because it has value incomparable to anything else, but it's an investment in quality of life.

I have been training at this location since it opened over a year ago. Having tried Starting Strength method and programming largely on my own in 2017 after learning the basic lifts from a coach, I think it's definitely worth getting coaching every workout. Within about four months I surpassed performance that on my own had taken me all of 2017 to get to. Coaches keep your form optimal and let you know what adjustments to make to the programming, in addition to providing accountability and keeping you focused on your goals. And once you're on the schedule you know there will be a squat rack for you. How much time did I waste in that year in a big box gym waiting for a squat rack to become available?

My only complaint is when I started here I didn't realize I would need to buy a whole new wardrobe. I am bursting out of my shirts in the chest and they're wrapped around my shoulders so tight it chafes. My pants will no longer accommodate my thighs and glutes. I'm trying to sell my old clothes so I can buy stuff that fits. So worth it.

I came down to San Antonio on a business trip and was very excited to see that they had a local Starting Strength gym. I’ve spent over a decade in the fitness industry, primarily educating clients on proper form and technique and also educating trainers on how to coach these correctly. Matt absolutely blew me away with his knowledge, attitude, and ability to coach. We discussed injury prevention, the overall positive health aspect associated to proper strength training, and he was able to help me with developing a plan for continued rehab of a spinal injury I received earlier this year. I'm so glad that SS opened up in SA I been there for 9 months I'm as strong as I've ever been and hitting numbers I didn't think were possible for my experience level but Coach Victoria and the entire SS coaching staff are amazing I've had the privilege to work with all of them and have learned from each of them they know how to get you to respond to the cues which translates to the lifters success all you need to give is effort and open to the coaching they make sure each lift is done safely and with good form there is no ego lifting here at SS

So grateful to have found this gym. Been wanting to start weight lifting for years but could never find the discipline. Having a trainer makes such a huge difference. The gym is very clean and well structured. My instructor Matt is super chill and helpful, cannot recommend this place enough.

Starting Strength - San Antonio has been a great experience for me (20 yr. male). I started training again, after a two-month hiatus, and picked back up with SS. I have been a big fan of the program and have even tried to follow it on my own as diligently and correctly as I could. However, training by myself does not compare to training with an SS coach. Since training with a coach, I have learned better lifting form and how to keep making progress on all my lifts. All the coaches are very high quality and helped me become more proficient in the movements (Squat, Bench, OHP, Deadlift, Power Clean). My coach was Matt during the MWF sessions. Matt and all the other coaches are extremely knowledgeable about lifting and being very safe. Each rep of every set is meticulously observed for imperfections and the coach provides real time feedback to correct these issues.

This gym is for anyone who wants to live a long and healthy life. The members range in age from high teens to 60+ including both males and females. All of whom have been very respectable and polite. The gym itself is not set up as a commercial gym; it has eight power racks and is very neat and organized. If you are someone who would like to see and feel an improvement in quality of life, I cannot recommend SS highly enough. I was only able to train there for 5 weeks due to school starting back up, but I will take the next opportunity that I get to train there again.

Weight References for those interested all for 3 set of 5 reps (3x5)
Squat: 255 to 350
Bench: 190 to 210
Press: 95 to 135
Deadlift (1x5): 285 to 365
BW: 192 to ~200

I’ve been a member of Starting Strength (Camp Bullis) for 6+ months. All walks of life, with various goals, are welcomed members. I considered myself a hobby lifter, but was quickly humbled when I learned that my ego-centric heavy lifts had horrible form, and was actually causing injury. Coach Matt has an eye for little cues that make the biggest improvement in form. I was able to surpass all Personal Records with this type of coaching. The 4:10 MWF class was small, so it was virtually personal weightlifting training at a very affordable rate. We changed my training plan as my goal transitioned from strength to cardiovascular, and I couldn’t be happier. Women, if your goal is to grow your glutes, be prepared to purchase a larger pant size, as they will quickly!

Definitely recommend this place for anyone whether you're just starting out or have several years of experience. I was a complete beginner when joining and the feedback and advice I was given has been invaluable as I now continue to weightlift outside of San Antonio. Coaches are always willing to listen to your concerns or thoughts and also provide constructive criticism as needed. Definitely recommend trying it out if you're leaning towards joining the gym.

I cannot recommend Starting Strength enough. The coaches are very helpful and are genuinely happy seeing you progress. I started in April, and did not expect to already be lifting so much; especially in the amount of time I have been going. It is a very welcoming and supportive atmosphere. The equipment is amazing as well. The membership is completely worth it and I always look forward to working out here. Starting Strength is easily the best gym I have ever gone too. Again, I cannot recommend it enough.

I’ve been going to Starting Strength for the past two months, and have absolutely fallen in love with it. The staff was extremely welcoming when I was just joining and continues to be as I’ve been going. You can tell they genuinely want you to improve and care about how your training is going. The instruction from my trainer, Matt Herbert has been awesome and has allowed me to hit numbers I didn’t think possible at first. I’ll only stop going when they kick me out.

So glad to have found SS San Antonio! After expressing interest online, the head coach called me up and invited me for an intro session which was the push I needed to start training. I never knew gyms could have such a welcoming and encouraging environment! If you’re someone who is new to training and going to any kind of gym (like me), know that this place will take you from the ground up. I’ve never felt so confident and strong!

I have been attending Starting Strength San Antonio for about two months, and I am now stronger than ever before. I look forward to each class and working with my Coach, Matt Hebert. I tried lifting by myself without any coaching and failed several times. Eventually, I decided to sign up for Starting Strength when I heard they opened a gym here in SA. During my initial consultation with head Coach Victoria Diaz, I learned my lifting form was utterly wrong. After just that one session, I learned more about proper lifting form than months of trying to do it independently. I am so glad that I decided to take the plunge and sign up. Joining Starting Strength has completely changed my concept of strength and my strength potential.

I am/was a couch potato… lifting wasn’t ”me”. I love starting strength. I started at the starting strength in Houston. When I found out I was moving for work the first thing I did was google where/if there was gym and where if was. I picked where I live based on the gym… if you’ve read this far… high five. I love it. The coaches are amazing and supportive. I was a transfer and my new coach Victoria spoke with my former coaches Tony and John about me, my progress, and my issues (shoulder/collarbone). The transition was easy. But for the person who is curious, but doesn’t think they can’t … oh you can. I started with a 22lb bar… now I’m on the board with a personal record within a year. You CAN, and you owe it to yourself to at least TRY.

Starting Strength is a fantastic place to workout. The coaches watch every single rep you perform, and a squat rack will be yours for the entire session (no more waiting around for equipment to open up). The coaches are extremely professional and program all of the workouts for you. The culture is great at the gym, and everyone is nice, welcoming, and supportive of each other. It's been great to see everyone getting stronger over the past six months. Lastly, and contrary to how it may seem, lifting heavy weights provides a mental break from fast-paced everyday life. Lifting weights forces you to be in the present moment and not stress about all of the things you have to get done in the future. Going to Starting Strength is one of the highlights of my week and I can't recommend the gym enough.

This gym is honestly exactly what I was looking for. A place to hone in on form and build strength along the way. They have classes to fit anyone’s schedule and the coaches are all phenomenal. You don’t have to worry about getting one kind of feedback from one and different from another. They are all trained professionals who throughly enjoy what they do and your goals and progress. I gained so much knowledge and so many amazing relationships with coaches and other athletes. Really was an amazing experience. If you’re thinking about joining, do yourself a favor and go for it 💪

I love this place. No crowded class. No loud nerve-jangling music. Clean fresh air. The trainers all are warm, positive, & helpful - always paying meticulous attention to each client individually, making SURE that proper techniques & body mechanics are used 100% of the time, to prevent injury.
I've been working with Victoria. SO amazing! Whenever I present with some limitation that prevents me from performing a lift as planned, she knows just what to adjust so that I'm still able to do the exercise in some fashion & still advance the weight - WITHOUT pain or injury!
I'm quickly beginning to feel like my younger, stronger, energetic self. LOVE this place!

I have been training at Starting Strength for about 3 weeks now and I have been really enjoying it!
I've had a personal trainer in the past and did weight lifting on my own (not an athlete by any means) but the experience here is very different from your typical corporate type gym. No frills, no extra fluff, no weird machines to try to figure out on your own- just exactly what you need to get stronger. I love that the classes are small and that I get my own weight rack and weights. I dont have to wait for someone to finish dumbell curls in the rack I want to use! The structure is straight-forward, programming is done by the coaches and coaching is done real-time.
Matt is an excellent coach, using helpful cues to correct form with each lift. He guides progress while still being encouraging and positive. Head Coach Victoria did my intro session, which was excellent and has followed up with me periodically to check in on my progress and experience, which I really appreciate.
It is a commitment to do the recommended 3 days a week programming and the price point might be steep for some (when you calculate per session, you will find it is comparable price to most personal training ) but if you are looking to become stronger effeciently and effectively, I highly recommend Starting Strength.

Starting Strength is a fantastic gym! I was a little intimidated signing up for a barbell gym however the coaches made me feel right at home. They provide in depth training for all ages and experience levels. I now look forward to going to the gym! The one on one training with a professional coach really teaches you the correct techniques and reduces chances of injury. Victoria Diaz has been a great coach and I am so glad I am now part of the Starting Strength San Antonio family!

After finding, and learning about the starting strength model, I decided to try it for myself. I’ve trained online with coach Victoria Diaz for about 6 weeks, and the results have been exactly as advertised. All my lifts have seen significant improvement in both weight and technique with no pain/injuries. She’s very concise and knowledgeable. I encourage anyone who cannot train in person, to use their online coaching.

I’ve been training at Starting Strength San Antonio for about a month now. The experience has been great so far. I have enjoyed working with a coach every workout. I really appreciate being able to have sessions early in the morning to start the day and not interfere with work and other obligations. The sunrise view is superb btw! I specifically sought out a SS gym because I had read the SS books and knew they did individualized programming and coaching. The last time I was really in a groove on my weight training I had some back injuries that I am pretty sure came from incorrect form. I also jumped on the chance to train at SS because I got pretty sick with Covid this year and it really did a number on me, but it was also a good reset for me, it was a good reminder to to get serious about my health and stop putting it off. I need to get stronger and more resilient. I’ve been really happy so far with just how much better I’m feeling already after a month of training.

So far working with Victoria, the Head Coach, has been fantastic! She knows her stuff and doesn’t let me get away with poor form and is helping me retrain my stubborn habits so I don’t get injured again. Victoria is present for every exercise and gives great feedback every time. After each workout we record results in a logbook/app and then plan and adjust where needed for the next workout. It makes it nice to just just come in the morning and get right to it. I really appreciate the individualized programming and support. I feel I will progress and achieve much better results. I’m really pleased so far.

As for the gym itself, it’s very clean and well organized, thanks SS for indulging my OCD self. The equipment is high quality and super solid, no cheap stuff here. It’s all custom built equipment from Texas Strength Systems, Texas Power Bars and The Strength Co, all USA manufactured. The benches are insane, super super solid, they could open up a Starting Strength Barbecue joint next door cause those benches could double as a butcher block! Ha ha I also like that they have gym leaderboards and workout plans on the displays as you walk in.

This gym is great for anyone that wants to build strength, learn to barbell lift and increase their overall health. I’ve attended this gym for one month and am very happy with the experience. After several years of teaching myself how to barbell lift, I joined this gym in order to improve my form and receive feedback and coaching from experienced coaches. Good barbell coaches are hard to find and the benefit of the Starting Strength gym is that the coaches are all certified to instruct the lifts in the exact same, time-tested method.

While the gym is expensive, it’s absolutely worth the cost if you’re financially able, because high quality, in-person, one on one coaching, on skills that can be used to benefit health and fitness for the rest of your life are absolutely worth it. It’s been very satisfying, specifically to watch my squat technique improve and the weight feel lighter, after putting in the consistent hard work three days a week, for the past three weeks.

If you like to work out and have thus far in your life focused only on walking, running, crossfit or lifting only with free weights or on machines, try out barbell training and do it at this gym.

Starting Strength San Antonio is a great place to get strong. Small group classes(<7), your own power rack for class, expert coaching; it can’t be beat. The head coach, Victoria Diaz, is great. She is very patient and positive. I hadn’t lifted weights in 30 years, and when I did, I’m now learning, I did it very wrong. Now, I’m trying to do it right. This is the place for that. Also, for anyone who might be intimidated about starting a weight training program, this is a very welcoming place. The coaches start wherever you are, and make you stronger. 18 or 80, you can get stronger and your life will be better for it. This is turning into a great community of people of all ages and backgrounds, with one simple goal of getting stronger. I highly recommend it.
