I would like to share some observations from my recent experience at this yoga studio, hoping to provide constructive feedback.

While the main studio is clean, the lounging area has carpets that could benefit from more frequent cleaning. Since many guests walk barefoot, maintaining a hygienic space is important.

Additionally, during classes, the high number of participants can create a very hot and sweaty atmosphere. Improving ventilation and ensuring comfort would enhance the experience for everyone.

Lastly, I would like to address my experience in the recent class with instructor Mark Herron, who is also one of the owners. I found the instruction style to be too intense; the speed and volume of the instructions made it impossible to follow along. For many, including myself, the class felt less about introspection and more about keeping up with the pace rather than fostering a safe atmosphere. I suggest that a more calm and measured approach could create a more welcoming environment for practitioners at all levels.

I ultimately did not feel safe with the owner's presence and energy in the room. Therefore, I have decided not to return to the studio.

The caliber and groundedness of all the teachers and humans this place attracts. Its a community gem in Austin!
Loved Jordan Medinas Glow + restorative flow today, the perfect intro flow if you're wondering the best intro class for yoga. I loved the sequence of waves and connection to the breath at the foundation of this Yoga practice.

Kerby and Evans Katonah yoga classes are amazing to awaken your body in ways you'd only dream of. Great for newbs too.

Andrews meditation classes, i go to religiously and can't recommend enough!

Can't mention Sukha without mentioning their founders, Erinn and Mark!
They both have a glowing, sincere, deep presence. Goingn beyond just a workout, they are stewards of weaving in yogic practices of breath and reaching what was previously unattainable spiritually.

The best yoga studio in Austin 🤍 this place is truly a breath of fresh air & always feels like coming home. The Lamar location has the cutest lobby and cozy meditation room + maha coffee is delicious. The Tarrytown location has incredible infrared (and non-heated) classes. Mark & Erinn have created the most beautiful, welcoming space & I feel lucky to practice here regularly.

I can honestly say, these are the most creative and caring teachers you will find in ATX- I am challenged every day I go into the studio and you will find so much more than yoga. Do it.

Sukha Yoga is a great studio. It combines yoga philosophy, mantra, breathwork, and asana. There are so many studios throughout the city that focus so heavily on getting "a good workout" that you loose the purpose of what a practice is supposed to be and end up with some sort of fast-food version of yoga. Their classes are challenging because YOU have an advanced practice or are waning to get there. Its a REAL yoga studio.

Sukha is a magical place. It has become my second home. A place of refuge, restoration and community. I moved to Austin in February of 2023. I've been attending Sukha regularly for the past year. I've fallen in love with this studio. It has become a vital part of my daily schedule. I have my 200 CYT certification. If I am gonna teach yoga, it wouldn't be anywhere but at Sukha.

I've tried a bunch of yoga studios throughout Austin - YTX., Black Swan, Practice Yoga, Core power, and Flow Westgate. Austin has an incredibly diverse yoga scene. All flavors of yoga, at all times of the day. What makes Sukha stand out from the rest is the loving community and soulful yoga that is taught at Sukha. Sukha is a Bhakti style studio. Essentially it's a style of yoga that leans into the spirituality, presence, breath work and foundation principles of yoga tradition. Sukha was a bit of a transition from the Power Vinyasa/Rocket Yoga studio i came from in Arlington VA (Mind the Mat studio). But I quickly adapted to the more spiritual and soulful style of classes and teachers offered at Sukha.

If you are looking to connect with yourself, with others, and are looking for a yoga home, come visit us at Sukha Yoga. Mark and Erinn, studio owners are opening a new location this Friday Jan 5th in Tarrytown. So the Sukha magic is spreading to the suburbs of Austin.

Sukha reignited my love of yoga and helped deepen my meditation after years of being away from my practice. Hands down one of my favorite spots in South Lamar. The energy of every class is palpable and I always leave full of gratitude. I love the community and safety that the teachers foster here, be it in studio, virtually at home, or... on an international retreat! Sukha will always have my heart.

Shout out to Erinn, Mark, Stephanie, Rachel, Paradise, Morgan xoxo thank you for holding the space that you do for us yogis.

I've been going to Sukha for a little over a year now and I love it there. I've been to several studios in Austin and I feel like a lot of them make classes difficult by making the room really hot and then rushing through the vinyasas at double speed. Sukha's flow classes are really challenging, but in ways that encourage a mind/body connection and prioritize safe form. The teachers are welcoming and the space itself is lovely.

The owners Mark and Erinn are gems and the real deal. Wether you are a newb or seasoned yogi, able bodied or nursing an injury (aka: me) - you will find solace here.

My wife and I just had an amazing experience at Sukha with Erin! We scheduled a private couples session for our anniversary. Neither of us had done yoga before but knew we wanted to do something together that was fun, but also a way to connect. The space is so welcoming and peaceful. The experience was equal parts emotionally, mentally and physically satisfying. We both agreed that we felt the experience left us feeling happy, energized and thankful what we have together. What a wonderful experience! Thank you Erin and Sukha!

I've been practicing yoga since 2009. When I moved to Austin in 2017, it took me a bit to find my yoga home --I loved my Baltimore Studio so much, and I thought all yoga studios were made the same magic. I had to try several studios, very good ones, indeed, but I found the space I was looking for when I found Sukha Yoga, which is made of that rare yoga magic.

At Sukha, you'll find community and welcoming, cozy vibes, never side eyes or distance. I never made friends at my other yoga studios, but at Sukha, I have made real connections with other yogis.

I particularly love their meditation classes and their new Sukha Strong class that's kicking my butt, but I need it. Mark and Erinn are fantastic human beings, hilarious, and outstanding teachers (I'm also an educator, so take my word). Morgan and Gemma are wonderful as well.

Thank you, Erinn and Mark.

I’ve done yoga around the country and I struggle to find studios that adhere to what 8mm looking for. I prefer slower yoga that teaches me to move with intentionality and build strength by holding my body weight. I’ve found instructors at this place that have not only changed the way I practice yoga but the way I physically carry myself in everyday life. This place is more geared towards those that adhere to the spirituality and philosophy of yoga, which I’m personally somewhat neutral about. But with most instructors, I feel encouraged to find positions that work for me and integrate the mental benefits of yoga. It has become my safe space to de-stress, work on back and hip pain, and build myself physically. I can’t imagine going anywhere else.

As we waited in line to get our Covid testing, the owner decided to come outside and tell the people in their cars to make a space for her driveway. When she made it to our car she was very frantic and rude. After proceeding to flip us off, she stormed back inside. This is VERY unprofessional and honestly I could care less about people coming into a yoga studio. Peoples lives are at stake and I understand that we all are trying to get on with our normal lives but maybe flipping someone off isn’t the best thing to do. I care more about not getting Covid and keeping the people around me safe. Also, maybe not sticking your head into peoples cars with no mask or shoes on either would protect you from getting your customers sick.

I’ve been practicing yoga for 15 years, been to many studios all over Austin, and I’ve never been to a better studio than Sukha. With how saturated the yoga market is, it was hard for me to find a place that I connected with. 2 years ago, I joined one of Erinn’s classes and I knew I had found my spot!

Sukha has many great teachers, the vibe is calming yet energizing (depending on the class), and the yoga practice is genuine. No trendy BS, just great yoga in a community driven atmosphere.

Thank you Erinn and Mark for creating such a wonderful space!

Absolutely loved this yoga studio! I was in Austin for a weekend trip and decided to bike over for a morning vinyasa class. This was my first in-person class in over a year with the pandemic, and everything felt perfect being back in a studio. The owner was incredibly nice and went above and beyond to welcome me in. The space itself is truly beautiful with a vibrant gathering space in the front and a connected coffee shop. I felt extremely safe with all the COVID precautions they were taking and enjoyed a refreshing vinyasa flow. Would definitely return to the studio if I'm in the city again!

I first visited Sukha on South Lamar on a vacation to Austin over two years ago. I took a class with Erinn and felt her genuine love for teaching yoga and holding space. She was warm and welcoming and I could tell that she intended to be that way with every student that walked through the doors. I thought about Sukha a lot after returning home and checked their social media often to see if I could figure out the perfect weekend to visit and take a workshop. Instead, I went all in and decided to take a six month long meditation teacher training with both Mark and Erinn the beginning of this year. This was a big leap of faith because I would be flying there every month, had only met Erinn once, and had never met Mark. The first night, I walked through the doors at the Eastside location and felt, again, welcomed and at ease. That night, when I heard Mark talk and share, I knew immediately that I had been given the perfect teachers (both of them!) to take me through this life changing experience. I am not exaggerating. The meditation teacher training has been and continues to be one of the most transformative experiences of my lifetime. Not only did I gain a great deal of knowledge about The Kundalini and Buddhist meditation practices, but I learned more about myself, my soul, my purpose, and my truth. I also learned more about my relationship with others. I gained new interests, new perspectives, and friends. Even though Sukha is far away, it holds a very special place in my heart and I know the love that is there continues to support the students that walk through those doors, no matter who they are, and I know I will be met with a warm welcome when I return. Plus the place is just so freaking beautiful and well thought out!!! Also, David and Abby, other teachers at Sukha that helped with the training, were icing on the cake. Sukha yoga is like none other!

I just completed the teacher training program in August and was blown away! It was a hugely empowering experience, and the curriculum is so dense with valuable knowledge. A great balance of spirit and structure.
This studio and this community feel like home. Erinn and Mark are outstanding humans, and they have curated such a safe and lovely space. You are always encouraged to show up as you are, and this simple invitation has been life changing for me. To be welcomed and accepted for exactly who I am, even when I am a hot mess, has made Sukha where I practice and where I go to heal. On top of that, the quality of instruction is beyond excellent, and every teacher has their own distinct voice. There is also a ton of variety in the schedule, so there is always something for everyone and lots of opportunities to try something new!

I have practiced yoga in numerous studios in and out of Austin and my Sukha Yoga experience was the best of all studios. I have participated in classes with 3 different instructors. The instructors asked how each student was feeling and actually listened. Myself and another student mentioned back issues and pain - they actually listened. The instructor gave alternate poses and flavored the class to assist our back. The instructor actively moved about the class and assisted each of us in poses with gentleness and knowledge. This is the best yoga studio in Austin.
