I’ve been a loyal Sunstone Fit Yoga member for years and even reached my 50th class milestone, but unfortunately my experience with the ownership has left me very disappointed.
In August, I was incorrectly billed twice in the same month. While it took some time to resolve, the instructor Liz was professional and helped get the refund processed, which I appreciated. Because of this, I was cautious moving forward but still wanted to continue my practice with Sunstone.
Before September, I requested to place my account on hold since I would be out of town. I never received confirmation, but I assumed everything was handled. Instead, I later received a text from the owner, Amanda, stating that my card on file had expired. When I explained that my account should have been paused, her response was dismissive, unprofessional, and even accusatory. She told me that I had caused “several problems” with my payments and suggested I should just cancel my membership. She also denied the double billing that had happened in August, despite it being a documented error that Liz had to correct.
It was extremely disheartening to be spoken to this way as a paying customer who had supported the studio for years. Rather than empathy or professionalism, I was told “it’s just not a good fit.”
I truly enjoyed the classes and the instructors, but the owner’s lack of professionalism, poor communication, and unwillingness to take accountability make it impossible for me to recommend this studio.

I feel bad that I’m writing this essay bc I actually like Liz a lot and I think she’s one of the better instructors I’ve ever had but I feel compelled to write what I am about to write because I’ve never had an experience like this before in a hot yoga class.
Unrelated to Liz, the towels they supply you with is a nice touch but they are low quality and your feet slip all over the place as you’re sweating. Need to bring my own that actually grip even when it gets slightly wet.
Onto Liz, I have taken two of her classes and I think she is great. She is really attentive to your postures and wanting to help you get them right. The other cry baby who left a review on here that Liz was being harsh trying to correct you is a bad way of looking at it. I think she’s genuinely trying to help people get better and not single people out or embarrass them. Don’t come to a class if you can’t handle getting some help to do it right.
That being said I have done hot yoga all over the states prob 200 class or so lifetime(am by no means an expert but I know what works for me and what I doesn’t) and I gotta say I’m not a fan of her class. Maybe she mixes it up with different variations for classes but overall I really didn’t like her pose selections and being such a stickler about for example where your chin is during a pose when there are more important things to focus on like the flow of the class. Also, I have never heard this chin placement in my life when doing the pose. I forget what its called but you’re basically in warrior 2 with your right knee/leg out bent then you come down with your right arm downwards aligned with your knee then extend your left arm up and try and get that deep stretch. I have never heard in my life an instructor tell me to tuck my chin in here which she did. When this pose is done you should be extending your face upward looking to the sky ALWAYS. She told me to tuck my chin in to my chest/shoulder which was a first and awkward.
It kind of then trickled into me being annoyed by her correcting certain variations of poses I wanted to do that I know feel better for me. This was prob mostly my fault due to miscommunication from my end. She is very attentive and asked prior to the class if I’m comfortable with being corrected and I’m always on board with being helped when doing postures incorrectly so I obliged but I don’t know if she sees me doing a variation as being a distraction or her wanting to correct it bc I told her she could correct me if I’m doing something wrong. I also didn’t think her variation of the side bend was all that good. I like getting a deep rib stretch and when I started leaning too much one way she corrected me to go straight up which doesn’t really stretch much of anything. She also did a strange variation of the bridge then extended upward not to a full wheel but something less that accomplishes zero for me. I did a wheel and she instantly told me to wait til after class to do it. Lol what? I understand when you start doing your own thing in class in can be distracting but in nearly all the classes I have done most instructors tell you that if you want to do a slight variation to a pose go ahead and do it but try to stick with the class bla bla bla etc.
The thing that bugged me the most though was her water comment. It was actually absurd. I’ve never heard an instructor say not to drink water early on or during a pose or what not. Usually as an instructor you tell everyone to try and keep up but to move at your own pace etc. Like if you need a break you can lay on your mat or take a breather outside of the room but try to fight it and stick with us etc. I’m honestly shocked at her introduction and overall approach. Overall I think if she cleaned up that stuff she’d be great bc her attention to detail is excellent and she seems like a perfectionist. All in all I wouldn’t come back to do her class again. She needs a better approach to make a class feel more warm and being a vibe. Whether you care or not I hope you don’t take this as an attack. I just had to vent this.

That was the most strange and uncomfortable yoga class I’ve ever taken in nearly 15 years. Nothing about the “yoga core” class resembles yoga and it’s a desecration to the sacred lineage to share its name.

I had been going to Sunstone for three years and unfortunately had to leave due to the move overseas. I highly recommend Sunstone. I’ve been four different yoga studios and found Sunstone is the best. The instructors and staff are all helpful and friendly. They keep an eye on all in the classroom and give us appropriate advice from beginners to advanced. I have done yoga for many years and found that my progress has developed in a short time thanks to the knowledgeable Sunstone instructors. I also appreciate that the instructors create an encouraging atmosphere and an environment where we can focus on yoga. I miss everything about Sunstone!!

I have been taking classes at this studio since 2017. Liz and her team of teachers are top-notch. They are kind and encouraging and go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels comfortable and supported.
There was a time, early on in my coming here, that I accidentally left behind some workout clothes. Liz not only laundered and folded them for me, but made sure to give them to me when I came back to class. She is even always ready with a spare hair tie (I’ve had one break on me right before class). This level of thoughtfulness and care is truly rare and greatly appreciated.
Highly recommend! ☺️

I have had nothing but great experiences here. Liz has gone out of her way to help accommodate my needs after a major illness as I get back to my normal life. All instructors have been patient, attentive, and encouraging. I highly recommend this studio.

I have been attending yoga classes at this Sunstone Yoga location for over 8 years. This studio is a 30 minute drive from my residence. I loved all the teachers and classes at Sunstone.
However, recent events involving a particular teacher (Liz) , have caused reconsideration of my continued attendance of yoga classes at Sunstone.
One of my concerns, is that students are allowed to drink water only during specified times that she has set for her classes. I attended classes with two of my friends., who were always nervous in her class. They could not drink water when they wanted, or needed in her class. Therefore, they no longer attend classes at Sunstone.
An important concern is the unusually late opening of the door for her class; especially on windy, rainy, and cold days. Students often have to wait outside for her class. Recently, on a particularly cold day, I knocked on the door hoping to get in from the cold weather. The door remained closed. When she opened the door, it was with a look of displeasure and a question of why did I knock on the door. Students attend yoga classes to improve their wellbeing, but it seems strange to let students stand outside in inclement weather that could negatively affect their wellbeing.
Therefore, I have decided to move on from Sunstone.
I have enjoyed the yoga classes, and the other teachers. It is important to teach yoga well, but it is more important to be considerate, and of those who come to learn.

I recently attended a class with Liz, and unfortunately, I had a very negative experience. During the class, I felt that Liz was unnecessarily harsh when correcting my posture. Even when I made a mistake, she commented in a way that felt dismissive and condescending, saying things like, 'We don't want to do this, this is easy. Everyone would do this if it's easy.' This approach made me feel uncomfortable and discouraged, especially as a beginner trying to learn.
Later, during another class with a different instructor, I had to step out because I was feeling lightheaded and dizzy due to the heat. Liz was outside and, instead of being understanding, she rudely questioned why I left. She insisted that I shouldn’t have stepped out, even when I was clearly struggling. I could barely respond as I was feeling weak, yet she continued to follow me, asking why I left and telling me I shouldn’t have done that. I found this behavior to be not only inconsiderate but also quite insensitive to my well-being.
On a positive note, I had much better experiences with other instructors, such as Paula, Nannine, and Seema. Paula, especially, was incredibly encouraging, which meant a lot to me as a beginner. She made me feel supported and motivated, helping me to focus on my practice without fear of judgment. Nannine and Seema were also wonderful, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I felt much more at ease in their classes and appreciated their positive, inclusive teaching styles.
Overall, I think there’s room for improvement in how Liz interacts with students, especially for begineers when it comes to being more patient and empathetic. Yoga should be a supportive environment, and unfortunately, my experience with her was far from that

The staff is completely rude, the person I spoke with persons name is chelsey. I inquired about changes to my bank account. I was informed that it was from a membership from 2020. I was under the impression that the membership was canceled not placed on hold.
She stated that she couldn’t do anything about my account and blamed their corporate office. I was only requesting for the charges to stop not back payment. She said I will still be changed for the next month regardless. They pray on you with the hope that you forget about it and charge inconsistently. I don’t care to do business with them and just want payments to stop immediately. She only cared to argue not actually help the customer, it was clear that this wasn’t her first time having this conversation and continued to argue and was rude and disrespectful. Regardless of how it happened she should have been more helpful to stop the payments than be dismissive and rude.

We pay over $120 every month and try to stay consistent with our physical wellness after work in the limited amount of time you have allocated for self care before you start working on other chores and they can't even accomodate a 4 min delay to a class. It's inconsiderable! I would have understood if they said ok be very quiet and go to the mat nearest to the door but no!!!

I was a member years ago and just back for a trial month. They used to have only hot yoga classes but now they also offer barre and pilates. The system is a bit different now with different levels of membership from unlimited to only 1 free class and pay as you go $19.99 per class. But once you come 6 times more, the 8th class and above will be free. The unlimited is the cheapest in the end if you come 8 times a month. The towel and mat are free and the bathroom is clean.

I go to Sunstone Yoga for basically two (2) reasons: Improve my stability and increase my flexibility. I’ve gone to classes for either seven or eight years. It works!
In August of 2018, I missed a couple of stairs leaving the choir loft. I hit the tiled floor on one foot. I found myself trying to stay upright, first on one foot then the other all the while I twisted and turned one way and then another. After some very long seconds, I recovered my balance: Both feet flat on the floor simultaneously! Thank you, Sunstone Yoga! I would not have stayed with SY all these years had not the management and, especially, the staff and the instructors been so helpful and encouraging.
The SY studio is bright and clean. As a senior, I find yoga an essential part of my health routine.

Was disappointed with the customer service here. They were eager to get my
Membership but not very friendly. The first class requires orientation and despite any prior experience with yoga you may have, they force you into taking specific classes and make you feel inadequate in your training. The studio itself is muggy, humid and has an odd smell in the practice studios. The lights are completely off at the beginning and end of class so you can’t see anything or where you’re setting up your stuff. Did not feel very welcome on my first and only class there. Thereafter, as I did not return, I keep getting emails and text messages asking me to sign up. Not very pleased with this place.

This is a general review of the Sunstone studios and not specific to Las Colinas location. Yoga class is good but not so good with customer service. You're almost forced to sign up for membership after the initial try out class, otherwise you'll be charged a fee for joining. I had difficulty canceling the membership too. Required one month notice for canceling and very hard to get hold of customer service via email or phone. So many hoops to jump through to cancel. I understand the general business needs of retaining customers, but it really creates a very negative customer experience. I'll not be going here anymore due to my negative experience.

Erin's classes are great and intense. She's good at slipping in and correcting your posture while keeping the whole class moving. The facilities are nice and the studio rooms are spacious. I haven't been a very consistent practitioner here, but I have noticed that I like the place even more every time I go.
