Svg mma academy
A year ago was the most difficult year of my life I fought soul custody for my child and fought the IRS at the same time representing myself at court. I entered svg mma academy lost but with a fire inside. I showed up everyday with the willing mind to learn, the environment was knowledgeable and patient.
Even though life was difficult I knew that I was growing mentally and physically every time I showed up to practice.
As coach says " some days you are the hammer and some days you are the nail". Every time I was the nail i always had the guidance to show me the way to keep on fighting and push through no matter how Tuff it gets. It helped outside of the gym, when everything is going wrong always keep fighting don't give up. When ever I was the hammer, I understood how much I've progressed and how I reached new levels. Trained at SVG MMA while visiting El Paso for a fantastic seminar they organized with Yokkao and Saenchai himself. It was a great experience. Honestly one of the best MMA gyms I have ever been to.
- Safety: I'm currently a dental student so taking care of my hands is important. Every time we train or spar, you can always count on your sparring partner to take care of you because that is the kind of culture Coach Ricky promotes.
- The experience: Coach Ricky is an extremely knowledgeable martial artist and provides us students with an excellent arsenal for self-defense and competitive fighting.
- Schedule/location: Because I am in school full time (8am-5pm) it was important that I found a place that offered flexibility in that regard, and SVG's schedule fit perfectly with mine. Because it is in close proximity to Texas Tech, I am able to stay on top of my school work and still have time train a couple of hours a day.
- The Yokkao Seminar: Coach Ricky has hosted an unprecedented event here in El Paso. He was able to host the Yokkao seminar here and offer our academy an opportunity to learn from Saenchai, currently the best Muay Thai fighter on the planet. This should hopefully give you an insight into the heart and soul Coach Ricky puts into this place.

Overall, SVG is a fantastic place to train. You are pushed to your physical and mental limits in an environment that promotes nothing but growth and discipline!

I’ve trained here for a couple of Months, sadly my work schedule conflicts with the training hours. But for my time training here, I’ve learned a lot. Excellent Coaches, huge facility & large mat space! I drive an hour and a half from Alamogordo, NM to get private sessions, I wouldn't do that if this place wasnt DOPE. Coach Savage & Coach Jack are both reputable and knowledgeable. Come train here, you won't regret it! 🥊👊🏼
