In this place we were discriminated against and scammed. I paid a membership to attend with my daughter and when I took my daughter they prohibited us from entering. I never used the machines and they are charging me.Something that I don't use because they never let me in, neither my daughter nor I, they scammed me. I came to try to sign up. And there were 3 people at the counter. I was barely acknowledged and was treated as it was an inconvenience for them to sign me up. All they said to me was, "you can sign up online"so that i may be able to leave out of their way. One lady seemed to try to help after I explained that I had exchanged messages to come sign up. She just gave me the pad without even explaining what each card membership meant.
I asked them "what any of these membership requirements for each card meant". She barely acknowledged my response. So I simply said "okay. Thank you, and left without signing up. What a shame, because they would have had another member at their gym but because of the lack of customer friendly satisfaction I will not be coming up. The whole interaction took 5 minutes. The owner needs to teach their sales advisor employees how to treat new customers that are trying to sign up.

I recently joined TFF because it was a quiet gym, close to home and had affordable memberships. However, I was extremely disappointed to learn they were bought out by Planet Fitness shortly after. They knowingly signed up as many members as possible despite being aware of the impending closure. Super misleading and unfair.

I came from the Richardson TFF and was told I could transfer membership to the Coppell TFF. The manager said that that wasn’t possible and canceled my original membership claiming he would just waive the sign on fee for me. After canceling, surprise surprise, he actually couldn’t waive the sign on fee. So I went from having already paid a $60 sign on fee and $10 a month at the Richardson TFF, to another $50 sign on fee at $15 a month at the Coppell TFF which is less than half the size of the Richardson TFF. I requested to cancel today after a few months of membership. I was in-person, requesting to cancel, yet was given a card to some third party company. I had to make an account and ‘request’ cancellation which takes 30 days.
Horrible sign up and cancellation process.
The actual gym is pretty nice, just smaller and frequently has broken equipment.

Just gym is a joke! Stay away in order to cancel your membership, you have to submit a 30 day notice by email and get charged again for the 30 day notice given. And they don’t tell you that when you sign up. ABC FITNESS SOLUTIONS is their third party payment solutions and have 1 star on the BBB. So should this company. I have cancelled other memberships before and it was no problem instant cancel no extra fees. Always extra fees when it comes to these small gyms. Go to a real gym avoid this one! Texas family fitness and their payment solutions is a scam.

Horrible! My overcharge issue still not resolved and NO.. NOone will call you back to resolve an issue ! Their responses to complains is just a “generic - automated response”. It doesn’t mean anything! No one will ever call you.. honestly being concerned about resolving your issue.. the only solution left is getting an attorney and having the patience to go to court.. which I already started the process!!

Update 11/30/24:
Dropping my review to a 2-3 star. Had an appointment with KJ and showed up 3 mins after my appointment time and waited for him while he was on a call on his cell phone for pretty much the whole time. Great gym. Unprofessional behavior. I value my time and won’t be wasting it on future appointments.

I come here at 5am and today no one showed up until 520. So many people were outside waiting and they ended up just leaving. I drive 45 mins to come to this gym before work, so this is unacceptable.

Update 10/21/24 Got to the gym 540 am. 40 mins after opening and it’s dark. Cars waiting in the parking lot. No one here to open again. The trainer arrived after 6 am and he’s even hiding 😂

Update 6/9/2024 - here we are once again on a Sunday morning at 9 am and no one is here to open the gym at 8am. IF YOU ARE A BUSY PERSON AND NEED A RELIABLE MORNING GYM - KEEP DRIVING. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU. Unless you like skipping workouts or rearranging your entire day to fit a workout in. SMH. This gym regularly doesn’t open on time. Original post- Here we are 7am on a Saturday opening two hours later than weekdays and still can’t get someone to open. Unreliable staff, old broken equipment- and this is their HQ. Too much equipment for such a small space. You’re on top of people during busy mornings. People will sweat all over cardio machines and leave pools of sweat on and around them. It’s left there.. to dry! 🤢Facility is filthy. Worst part is NO ONE CARES that it is so terrible. I asked the GM why the facility has a hard time opening and he said he can’t find staff and it’s not his responsibility and not fair for him to work 7 days a week. 🙈. Sure it’s cheap and you definitely get what you pay for.

I have been at this gym for 7 months and my children never wanted to go to the kids' club, but since Rija has been there they go without problems, they don't complain, they like it, she is the best, very kind, nice and sweet, excellent job Rija! The gym facilities are always clean and tidy, the only thing I'm going to complain about is that when a machine gets damaged it takes a long time to be repaired and the signal and the wifi are terrible, they are useless.

This place is so disappointing. Been a member forever but honestly don't know why??? For less than $20 a month I guess that makes it OK to be sub par? But does it really? The place never opens in time? Are you kidding me? You can't get someone responsible there to open the door? To open the door at minimum because no one there does anything!! Got twelve employees standing around on their phones while the gym is filthy disgusting? Dust bunnies everywhere and weights not racked. This place? Is it ok to be in business and because the monthly membership is so dirt cheap your standards can be so low? Unacceptable.

Been going to Texas family fitness since January2024. Rija always takes good care of my kids. They never want to leave kids club. lol We are in there 3-4 times a week and the staff always remembers us. They been really nice to us and always helpful when we have account issues. They have a lot of equipment, everything we need for a good workout. Some days are really packed so it does get a little hard to get a good workout in. Their products are a little high. But we enjoy going there.

So grateful for TFF!! Next week will be 20 YEARS that I personally have been a member of this specific Coppell location!! I've been a member of texas family fitness for over a year now, and my experience has been nothing short of disastrous. The gym is consistently dirty, with sweat-stained equipment and floors that seem to never get cleaned.

The staff is unfriendly and unhelpful. Every time I've asked for assistance, I've been met with eye-rolls and sighs. The personal trainers seem more interested in chatting with each other than actually training clients.

The equipment is outdated and often broken. I've lost count of how many times I've tried to use the treadmill only to find out it's 'out of order.' The free weights area is cramped, and the dumbbells are always scattered everywhere.

But the worst part is the billing issues. I've had to dispute multiple charges due to errors on their part. They seem to have no regard for their customers' financial security.

As a frequent gym-goer, I expect a certain level of quality, but this place consistently fails to deliver.

Firstly, the gym's hours are inconvenient, with limited weekend hours. The pool and sauna areas are always closed for 'maintenance.' The group fitness classes are overcrowded, and the instructors seem unqualified.

The equipment is old and poorly maintained. I've seen the same broken treadmills and ellipticals for months. The free weights area is disorganized, and the staff doesn't bother to re-rack weights.

The locker rooms are dirty and cramped, with broken showers and no towel service. The staff seems uninterested in addressing member concerns.

To top it off, the membership cancellation process is a nightmare. They make it impossible to cancel online or over the phone, forcing you to visit the gym in person.

Overall this gym feels like a low-budget gym with high-end prices.

The only positive aspect is the convenient location, but that's not enough to make up for the subpar experience.

Avoid this gym at all costs. There are far better options in the area

I received a debt collection call for a membership that I canceled back in June. I’ve made several calls to Texas Fitness Coppell to resolve this issue, and each time I was assured that there were no outstanding payments and that the matter was taken care of.

Unfortunately, it seems this was not the case. Be cautious when signing up for a membership with them. They may tell you that you can cancel anytime, but my experience has been quite the opposite. There appears to be some hidden or fraudulent practices at play.

I would like to express my frustration regarding this gym. I was charged over $200 to cancel my husband’s account after we moved without being informed about his annual fee. The manager was not understanding at all and seemed only focused on getting my money. I also feel they take advantage of my limited English skills, as the person who sold me the service spoke Spanish, but now no one does. I was told my account was canceled, yet I continue to receive messages about further charges. When I called, they claimed I owed for another month, which is not what I was told initially. I hope this message finds you well. I’m writing to express my dissatisfaction with the process of transferring my membership from your Plano location to the Coppell location.

When I initially requested the transfer, I was assured that it would be handled proactively by your team, and I was advised not to contact the Plano location directly as everything would be taken care of for me. I understood this process and have been patiently waiting for it to be completed.

However, as we reached the end of August, I was unable to reach the person who initially promised to manage this transfer.

Unfortunately, nothing has been completed despite my efforts, and I’ve now wasted an entire month without being able to schedule any sessions with a trainer. This has caused significant frustration and has disrupted my fitness routine.

At the Coppell location-
The club is affordable - The facility has plenty of parking- however :
there’s Nothing special about equipment much has been there for over 7 years.

The facility is way Overdue for an update.

When a piece of equipment breaks which is customary & understandable- it typically takes weeks or months to get repaired not a week or two

Both staff & managers say “they are unable to change the TV stations -“ why run infomercials on one of your TVs two of them are broken and one of them is frozen with the weather and it’s been that way for 26 days ?

The water fountain handle has been broken for over 10months!

The staff is more about hanging out with each other than truly engaging with club members.

The club management seems to turnover every 5 to 8 months.

Kids club is supposed to be opened 9am. Brought kids, no one in the kids club, the person working at the gym said send an email to customer service to complain instead of accommodating anything. And this isn’t our first time(more than 10times in the past). getting ready to go gym with kids then have to come back home isn’t easy and ruin morning routine.

If I could do negative stars I would. I joined this gym after I was diagnosed DCIS and treated for pre breast cancer had surgery to remove both my breasts. I let the trainer know what I was wanting to do Nikki master trainer was great at first but said I could use my FSA card for my training sessions I let her know I would only do them if it was paid by this card she said no problem gave her my card info did one training session then they had to reschedule due to the trainer not being able to do the time slot I needed they never called to reschedule nothing. Then the end of March they charged $196 for training but it was charged to my card on file for my monthly dues not the card I gave them for my training sessions I had money available on my FSA confirmed it and talked to the general manager Nolan and Nikki sat down with him notated everything in his brown note book said he would talk to his boss and said he would call me back Nolan assured me he would get it fixed and send me an email stating so I never heard from him. I called multiple times finally he told me he wasn’t able to get in touch with his boss to do so that it would be best for me to contact my bank. I called my bank disputed the charges a month goes by they charged the wrong card again for $196 for training sessions last time I went in he said he would call me back after he looked into it again no word so I called left multiple voicemails got no where called corporate multiple left messages no one called me back I finally got a hold of someone at corporate she was the operations manager told her everything that happened she said his notes state otherwise and they will charge whatever card is on file I told her they had promised to get this fixed she said too bad I asked to speak someone above her she said there is no one available for public I asked for her bosses info she said no. I called left multiple messages for Nolan again weeks go by I finally went into the gym today and spoke with him again and asked for the the email he had promised months again said he would send it stating that the location charged the wrong card again . Still waiting for this email he apologized I told him it’s sad that they have this type Of customer service be weary of this location and the whole company if this is what they do is lie to you do empty promises. I told Nolan it’s sad you don’t expect this from a gym it’s like dealing with a sleazy car sales person and to have a general manager ghost you and never call you back! I’m still trying to get my card refunded for $196 we are now in June almost July!!!
So your reply to me is to call the same location again and leave another message for a General Manager Nolan to not return my phone calls again this is just redundant. I called the number on 6-28-24 he stated Nolan was in a meeting with a trainer I left a message to call back isn’t there anyone else that can actually help resolve this ???? I’m tired of getting the run around for months!!!! I posted this review at the location only to get a reply back saying reach this number and we will get this cleared up it was the number of the location I called left a message for the Gm Nolan only to still not receive a call back to get this cleared up I called him again and he stated he cannot assist. When do the lies stop and I stop getting the run around from this business???

I'm happy with this gym. I've been going for over two years. I signed my wife up as well but then had to cancel her membership; I was ready for a hassle but it was super simple. I've made a few changes to my membership over the two years I've been here and again - no hassle. The staff are friendly, they've got a new manager who is engaged and has a desire to understand how members are feeling with their membership. Reasonable prices, good equipment. It's not uncommon to see a piece of equipment out of service but it's usually addressed in a reasonable timeframe. I usually work out in the evenings and don't have trouble getting the equipment I need.

Unfortunately a young and inexperienced staff in dealing with client concerns. When equipment is broken down for weeks on end and you enquire to speak to a manager or get their contact email to send a concern officially you are met with, "I'll leave a note on his desk" from someone who is having trouble looking you in the eye. When they wont give you an email address to the GM the word 'Untrustworthy' is at the forefront of your thoughts...getting a 'dodge and weave' answer to a simple question paints a very poor picture.To the GM - If you're going to quarterback a franchise location as the manager and represent the TFF brand, train your staff and be accountable for the poor service...it doesn't reflect well on you. I encourage you to do better.

Gerald at the front was professional, polite, and energetic. Facility is well maintained with a wide selection of machines. Only 3 weightlifting platforms. Never gets too busy to interrupt my workouts (from my 2 weeks of experience). -1 star for slow wifi. :)

We’ve been going to this gym since they opened . All their staff are super nice and friendly. I believe they must have had a change in management since the service seems to be even better. The equipments are clean and the floors always clean. I like how they now have wet paper towels to wipe down machines and they keep those wet napkins well stocked and readily available.

The only comment I want to make is I wish the aerobic instructors would keep the doors to the classes closed. Some of them leave the doors open and I use one of the machines that are right next to the class and I had to get ear plugs so my ear drums won’t get damaged . They have to realize not all of us like the extremely loud music and the music they play.

I love all Melanie’s classes. I’ve been attending Yoga and Strength classes for about 2 years without missing a week and I’ve seen how my health and overall fitness improved. Melanie is always friendly and caring for everybody, engaging and coaching all of to to improve but perform safely. No matter age or gender, you can always get a productive and fun time.

I've been a member of TFF Coppell for a while but just recently started attending the 9am TFF Mind Body(Yoga) and the 10am TFF Strength classes on Tues and Thurs. The instructor, Melanie O. has been inspiring. In the Mind Body Yoga class, she provides clear instruction for each pose with alternatives for the novice to the advance. She is great at making the class for everyone of all ages and flexibility. She is so encouraging and watches to make sure we perform the poses correctly so as to not cause injury. And it's okay if we don't get it exactly right, we're trying and we are all in this together. Also, Melanie provides variety by making each session different. i.e. It's never the same class over and over. She also asks the class what we would like to focus on and strives to include our desires. Melanie cheers us on and we all get excited when class members accomplishes a difficult pose. But if we fall on our face that's okay. We just laugh at one another and carry on.

In the Strength Class, Melanie is so enthusiastic and energetic which creates energy in the class. She also provides variety where each class is different The class uses any combination of dumbbells, barbells, cardio, and step platforms. She watches us carefully to insure our form is correct when lifting so injury is not incurred. Since we have a variety of people of varying ages and strengths, Melanie offers alternatives for each round of exercises. e.g. the cardio may be too much for some so she offers exercises with reduced impact. Or some class members may not want to use the dumbbells so she provides exercises to still help build strength.

All in all, we have a great time in the classes.

If you are looking for classes to improve and maintain flexibility, balance, build strength and some cardio, these are the classes for you. And Melanie is an awesome instructor.

My review is for Melanie Odstrcil- Melanie deserves more than five stars as an instructor, mentor, and life coach for all her classes at Texas Family Fitness COPPELL! She has done more than any exercise or yoga instructor in my 55+ years of active exercise classes and personal training to tone, strengthen, engage, and nurture our bodies. Melanie has built a loyal community of students and friends at TFF Coppell from her generosity of spirit and broad knowledge of how our bodies work and thrive.
No other experience or gym I have ever attended has had an instructor who was gifted enough to address the entire range of ability, from those who can do a Scorpion hand stand or a strength class with 50 lbs., to older less flexible students (like me), happy to do a Half-Moon pose or proudly hoist 7 lb. weights!
Melanie's dedication to her craft and her students is unmatched-
better make that 10 Stars!

Yoga classes are the main reason I joined the gym. Melanie is a fabulous instructor who provides modifications for beginners and experts alike. If it weren’t for her I’d have canceled long ago.

Corporate should be better run and more responsive. Had a problem that I called about, had onsite staff call, and never received a response or resolution. That’s just bad business.

Edit: reduced stars due to response from owner and not acknowledging the described issue in my review?! Attention to details matter. 3 stars - 5 for instructors and 0 for company

BE CAUTIOUS - seems like a reasonably priced gym, but the after is horrendous. Good luck trying to cancel your membership, they will lie and stall you for months just collecting monthly fees. They also took one of my guests I brought and transferred them to a full membership and kept the membership running for years without knowledge.

Horrible customer service I signed up 4 people and I decided to cancel 3 since they refused to attend. I sent in certified mail with a receipt they sent my acct to cancel 3 months after the date I stated on the notice. How shady can you be? I'm actually disgusted! The sales guy also put fictitious credit card numbers on some of the accounts in order to make me think the yearly fee was waived.

Landon is the first persons name that I learned here on staff. So that’s cool. Over all I’d recommend training here. Good price and clean and working equipment.
