This is a different kind of place. There is no fluff. The equipment is well used and could use some updating but the vibe is just good. The atmosphere is not like fitness connection. This has a feel to it that is kind of just wholesome and I feel good supporting the owner who seems to be a great guy. I just started after fitness connection screwed me around. I feel like I'm doing something good with my money by coming here. I feel like I'll achieve my goals here.

Been coming to this gym since 2013. It used to have old 80s equipment with neon lights and murals on the wall from the 80s. Since then it's gotten remodeled with brand new equipment and flooring. The vibe in Texas gym is always positive. It's a great place for beginners to start and for professionals to get their pump. The owners are great people who are always in a great mood. Raffles for gear, protein and supplements take place every Thursday at 10:30pm with free entry. The gym is open every holiday for those who want a quick pump before celebrating with friends and family or for those who have nowhere else to go. The people there are one big family. Highly recommend going here over any fitness gym.

I train here frequently. If your looking for a hardcore gym this is it, but if you want to be all clean and proper like LA fitness this is not your gym. This is the kind of gym that is for the community and builds the community but it’s also a gym that isn’t really about growth as far as the gym equipment and conditions itself.

Always a good place to get a pump. The guy at the desk is friendly and so are the people that workout there. Most people are cool if you jump in their rotation on the equipment. I come here for the double soy lattes and the Pilates equipment. The yoga mats are plush. The owner uses lavender-honey fragrances to spray down the benches after you work out. The towels are warm and oh smell great. I go here to socialize, enjoy my latte and discuss politics with the locals.

I have been to many gyms during my time lifting. I can easily say Texas Gym is the best gym I have ever been to. Since moving to Dallas, I began lifting here and was immediately drawn in by the community. These people build each other up and want you to succeed.

The gym owner, Kim, offers full use of the facility for an extremely reasonable $20 a YEAR. There is no gym that can beat that. The gym is well equipped for almost anything a bodybuilder / powerlifter could ask for. Come lift here!

I called to ask how much a Day Pass was, where they are located since their old phone number redirected me to a new one, and what cardio machines they have. I was met with a condescending, “we’re at the same place we’ve been for the past 38 years” along with a snide laugh and a, “we don’t have cardio machines; if you’ve ever been here before we do weights and body building, that’s all we do, alright? Bye bye.” Obviously, I don’t know about your gym, that’s why I’m calling to ask. You don’t have to be an elitist asswad. Maybe you should put down the weights and try working out your humility and customer service skills for the next few weeks. A toxic masculine attitude isn’t a good look for any business.

Literally the WORST customer service I’ve ever experienced from a gym. New to the area and looking for a real gym to train at - called to see if I could come check it out for the day and was told “No. You can pay $20 for the month.” I explained that I was trying different gyms in the area before committing to a membership and was again told “$20 for 1 day or or 30 days; all the same.” and then was hung up on. Doesn’t matter how good a gym is when the people who run it/work there don’t care about their own potential customers.
