The Bar Method Houston - Memorial is a boutique fitness studio offering barre classes for students of all levels. The signature method uses your own body weight, the ballet barre and a few props to create a transformative workout that results in long, lean sculpted muscles. Not only does it reshape your entire body, but it allows you to channel your inner strength and leave class feeling strong, confident and poised. Highly-trained instructors customize the exercises to ensure they are safe and effective for any age and every body, including modifications for pregnant women and students with injuries. I recently reached my 500 class milestone at Bar Method Houston Memorial. I don't think I've ever done 500 of anything before! But I keep coming back to Bar Method because it works. It keeps me strong, flexible and pain free, and I have never injured myself in any of the classes (which I often do in other sorts of classes). The workout is highly structured and there is enough technical detail and challenge to keep my attention for 500 classes. Looking forward to 500 more.

Update: 10/26/2023 - Fast forward, I am still taking classes at this studio and continuing to enjoy this beautiful community. They have introduced a variety of new class formats this year, such as Bar Cardio and Bar Strength, all very challenging pushing our bodies to new levels of fitness I didn’t think possible.

I fell in love with Bar Method in 2011 and have never looked back. When I found out Dana opened a studio closer to my home in 2018, I couldn’t wait to sign up. Bar Method is truly a special community of kind hearted folks continuing to cheer you on every step of the way. This workout is low impact but yield big results. Don’t underestimate barre workout. It will challenge you in ways you didn’t think possible. Take one class and you’ll be hook!

If you're looking for a low-impact fitness class that still packs a punch, I would definitely recommend barre. You don't have to be a prima ballerina to take part :) Barre allowed me to fall back in love with exercise and although the barre burn is hell at first - after a few classes, I guarantee you'll be begging for more :)

Joined with the new client promo, I'm during my 3rd week and I have been able to attend a few good times to get a taste of the classes and make a longer term commitment. The method provides good balance of strength training. I personally like the express classes - 45min, and the early 615AM ones. Trainers are positive and supportive, space is clean and welcoming. It's fun when friends are coming.

Come for the workout, stay for the community. It is an excellent low-intensity workout that is challenging while building strength and flexibility. There is a good variety of exercises which are different each day. Be sure to try out a pretzel class! I highly recommend it!

I joined with a recovering ankle looking for a way to strength it. The instructors knew gentle modifications that wouldn’t overwork it, and I’m already seeing progress with my ankle. They also have modifications to add more challenges as you progress, so classes are never dull!

Dana and Tracy are very knowledgeable about their craft! I first came to these classes with my girlfriend - I had no flexibility at first but the instructors really showed me good techniques and form to help me get into better shape. And classes are different because we do a wide variety of exercises to work out different parts of the body. I highly recommend these classes!

Best fitness class ever ..... This review is a long overdue as I attended Bar Method several months ago when i was living in Houston. I have never written a review before but it feels so unfair to not write one for this studio. I took classes with Dana , Tracey and Sarah who were AMAZING. They teach you proper form so it burns in all the right places 😉 They answer all your queries with such a patience. The most beautiful thing is they remember everyone by name and they always create a positive vibe in the studio. Though i have moved out of Houston i really really recommend Bar method to any one looking for a good and fun fitness studio 🥰

I love The Bar Method! It's very clean and has a ton of space. Dana has really gone out of her way to make sure we can get in a good work out safely during this covid era. The women who workout there are such a great group, they are very friendly and kind and the workouts are great. You get a really good tough workout, yet feel so relaxed when its all done! My friend invited me to a bar method class. I love doing new things so I went even though I was concerned that I would not be able to do all of the exercises. Well, it turns out that the teachers are able to adapt any of the exercises for people. The experience was fantastic! Not only did I get an overall workout and stretching, I felt great. The teachers learned everyone's name in the class and helped adjust people to allow them to have the best workout they could have. I have continued to go to classes since and have loved the variety of the classes. Each class is motivating and keeps my coming back for more.  My goal of being healthy, toned, and flexible is coming into fruition thanks to Dana (the owner) and Bar Method!

I tried Bar Method for the first time in 2016, and to be honest, I was nervous. My friend convinced me it had “changed her body completely”, and well, I’ll get on board with that. I am SO GLAD I went. I’ve never enjoyed a workout more. And while the workout is no joke, it really does meet you where you are, and pushes you to work harder. I am addicted, and the best part? This is a REALLY GREAT workout, highly recommend!! Low impact so good for joints and very effective in toning and shaping muscles. The instructors are really good, they correct our form during class to help maximize the effectiveness and safety of each exercise. I love this place! Dana is super sweet and attentive to every student in the class, and gives hands on corrections while motivating you at the same time. I’ve been going for almost a week now and I’m pretty much hooked on the classes. The facility is very clean with ample amounts of lockers and two showers. The other barre goers are also all very nice and supportive. They have an app you can download that makes booking your next class very easy and convenient. I’m really happy I found this place so close to where I live!

The Bar Method has been such a gift to me. It’s a warm, inviting, aesthetically pleasing environment with instructors who truly care about seeing you make progress, stay safe, and work hard! I have zero dance, ballet etc background and have so enjoyed these low impact yet challenging workouts where I’ve gained flexibility and strength. The one hour class always go by so fast, and I love how attentive the instructors are to us. From day one they have known my name and encouraged me often which I needed as I was entering after about a year of no exercise. They also correct and encourage throughout the class which I personally love, I never have to wonder if my form is correct etc, they will say something! Also for anyone out there like me with no dance background, that’s okay, just come try a class! One final thing I love is that no matter your ballet etc background or how in or out of shape you are, these classes work for so many, both having the ability to make modifications (I had to make many at first!) and also be extremely challenging no matter how good of shape you are in!

I have tried many different exercise programs/locations over the years and Bar Method is BY FAR my favorite. (I actually look forward to going!) The 1-hour workouts will strengthen and tone every muscle in your body and get your heart rate up in the process. The instructors train for 6 months and learn your name so that they can call out corrections and encouragement. The studio is beautiful and very nice to relax in and visit with others after class. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
