Was so happy to have found this gym this morning! Karen responded right away to my drop in request, and assured me there would be an open spot for me at 6am. I was there early, and the gym was wide open! No waiting in the parking lot for the early class which is a +! The gym was extremely welcoming and I had a chance to have a good chat with Karen before the class start. 10/10 would recommended checking out this space if you are just beginning, dropping in, or looking for a new crossfit gym.

I recently attended a CrossFit class led by coach Chris, and it was an outstanding experience! From the start, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the warm-up was both thorough and engaging. He emphasized proper form and safety, ensuring everyone felt comfortable.
The workout was well-structured, blending strength training and cardio. I appreciated how he offered modifications for all skill levels, allowing everyone to participate fully.
Throughout the class, Chris provided continuous motivation and course correctionsif needed, fostering a great sense of community. I left feeling accomplished and energized. I highly recommend The Colony Crossfit for anyone looking to enhance their fitness.

First time I’ve consistently attended anything fitness. The staff and other members are a big reason why I keep going back. That and how much better I feel from a health perspective. They’re friendly and supportive while pushing me to be just a little bit better than I think I can be without overdoing it. Karen and staff are very welcoming when I joined. It’s been 2 week so far, Karen is always supportive and she always make sure to check-in and adjustable with schedule's with me. She is very conscientious with my level, encouraging and has suggested numerous modifications for my workouts movement. Great place for workout, the classes are fun, challenging and help you move your way up.

I dropped in while on a work trip and had an amazing workout at Colony CrossFit gym this morning! The coach was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, ensuring everyone had proper form and technique throughout the session. The facility was clean and well-equipped with a variety of equipment for all fitness levels. The workout was challenging yet fun, pushing me to my limits in a motivating environment. I left feeling energized and accomplished. I highly recommend this gym for anyone in the Carrolton area! Thanks Karen!!

I can say I have always been someone that is hesitant with CrossFit! I’ve done them in other gyms before and “to me” I don’t enjoy them other than to go in for a short time to break up my workouts every once in awhile. They have always been geared to people that more or less want to compete competitively in that world in my opinion and it’s a bit much for someone that just wants to get fit and in shape.
I was pleasantly surprised when finding this gym. I absolutely love this CrossFit!! Karen is amazing!! She is very knowledgeable, and I love that she is very involved with her clients, unlike I’ve seen in other CrossFits. They just let people do everything wrong because it’s all about reps and weight, and as a personal trainer that would always make me cringe. Karen takes the time and focuses on movement and proper mechanics and prescribes the days WOD to what people can do versus just putting numbers on the board and telling people to meet SHE is absolutely phenomenal. I would suggest anybody that wants to try something different than the ordinary gym, but wants to be pushed, and looking for overall Better health, Karen Is definitely your girl!! I don’t usually take the time to post reviews, but this place is definitely worth the time!! 5 ⭐️’s for sure!!

1 YEAR UPDATE: Coach Karen is spectacular on every level of health management. After just one year, obviously I’ve improved in physical ability/strength/cardio but I’ve also gained a deeper understanding of my body and how to listen to it (re: diet, workout, sleep, etc) and I’m frankly amazed at how much more I’ve accomplished than I thought I could after just one year. If I had set quantitative goals when I started, I’m confident I would have blasted right past them long ago.
5 MONTH UPDATE: This place and the people have become a permanent part of my life. Physical improvements aside, going here is such a wonderful experience. Karen and all the instructors are so supportive and knowledgeable, they meet you where you’re at and help you move your way up.
Original: I've had an absolute blast in my first few weeks going here. Karen is such an incredible instructor and is beyond conscious of your specific abilities while also pushing you to accomplish what you didn't know you could. I've attended classes at various times of the day and all have been a wonderful experience with an encouraging, friendly atmosphere. I have no prior CrossFit experience, and I would eagerly recommend this box for anyone wanting to get the CrossFit experience in a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.

I started CrossFit at The Colony Crossfit off and on in 2018, but fully embraced it beginning in February 2022. I'm so glad that I did!

Great place to work out! I dropped in while traveling from out of town, and Karen was excellent and welcoming as a coach! The small local crowd was quite friendly without being overbearing or feeling "fake." From my drop-in perspective they've got their "feel" just right! Also, the gym was phenomenally clean, which is something you can't say for every CrossFit box out there. I would definitely go again.

I love this place! Workouts are challenging, but everything is scalable, and you’re never made to feel less than. I’ve always been hesitant to tryout CrossFit with my previous injuries and some limitations I have from them but Karen is very conscientious of that and takes good care of me while still making it challenging. When you visit you’ll definitely experience laughter, fun, and camaraderie here. It’s an all around a great gym and welcoming team.

“It’s just a number, and not the entire picture.”
My CrossFit coach has been with me this last weight loss/maintenance journey for four years. Last month, she noticed I was going over my calorie target, and we made the decision to adjust by putting me back in maintenance and not weight loss, not because she thought I should, but because I wanted back in the 140s.
During this time, my running coach suggested we keep the one true CrossFit WOD in lieu of a lifting session, because we were seeing results on my running times.
And yesterday was the one-month check in after making said adjustments, and my honestly trying to hit macros, especially protein.
The first thing I saw was my weight. Up two pounds. I was immediately in my head, and my CF Coach knew it. After we saw the numbers (look at that muscle improvement and percent body fat drop!), she gently asked, “What’s in your head?”
“That I’m still up two pounds.”
“So let’s talk wins this month, which, let me remind you, all this improvement happened after a month, and it really looks like your sweet spot is the 150s.”
Growing up and being reminded to focus on one number on a nutrition journey can make it hard to remember bodies are different and need different things to function, and that’s why I need to look at the whole picture.
When ppl ask (and they do) why I have a CF/nutrition coach and running coach, this is why. I can’t do this alone. I’d have probably run myself into the ground by overworking and undereating by now. Having guides who’ve done and keep doing the work helps me do the work at me best. So let’s go 🏃🏽♀️.
