Best gym in Dallas and my “happy place” for the past few years while living in Dallas. I highly recommend this gym to all who are looking for a place where the workouts are challenging and effective AND where the members and coaches are welcoming and kind. Joining The Gym of Social Mechanics has not only led to recognizable improvements to my strength and physical fitness, but it has also led to truly meaningful friendships with the outstanding people I have met here. The gym fam here makes you actually look forward to showing up day after day and putting in work.

Dropped in for a workout over Thanksgiving weekend. Coach and the community were very welcoming. Plenty of equipment typical of a CrossFit style gym. Gym is clean and well maintained. No issues parking (I parked on the street.) Look forward to coming back!

Joining Social Mechanics has been one of the best decisions I have ever made! As someone who had no prior experience with barbells and CrossFit-style workouts, I was very hesitant to join, but both the coaches and people in the classes made me feel very welcome. Now 3 years later I can’t imagine a life without going to Social Mechanics! I’ve developed the most amazing friendships with people that I met here, and truly feel a sense of community that I have never felt from any other gym.

Awesome gym! I've been a member since late 2021, right after the move to the new location. I really enjoy this gym, laid back vibe (but still very challenging) and the coaches are knowledgeable and helpful. My fitness level has improved a ton over those 2+ years.
The coaches spend a lot of time designing new workouts to keep things fresh, typically a combination of weight training and metabolic conditioning. For me it's great, I show up each day and don't have to think about anything outside of making my way through the workout.
There's 7 or so classes daily and a few on the weekends, you sign in on an app for each class which also tracks your performance so you can keep an eye on your progression.

I started coming to this gym after my previous gym (CFKT) closed, and I've really enjoyed it! It's been about a year now, and what I like most is that the workouts are varied and easily scalable, the gym and bathrooms are updated and clean, and best of all, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The coaches take the time to learn your name, explain the movements, and watch your form. Oh, and the workouts are written by one of the coaches there, which make them much more interesting/fun than just pulling the same workouts from the CF database. As a mom of three young kids, it's SO hard for me to get up at 5AM, but the reasons above make it much easier!

I’ve been a member for 5 years or so and highly recommend it. Great trainers that help you learn to lift and exercise the right way to lift more weight, and lift more efficiently and effectively, but to also avoid injury. They’re all engaging, personable and fun and know what they’re talking about. Workouts are a great mix of weights and cardio, scalable for all skill levels. The members are the best, encouraging one another and living up to the “social” part of Social Mechanics. You’ll make friends both inside and outside the gym here.

I've been coming here for nearly 2 years and can't run out of nice things to say. As someone who works from home, being a Social Mechanics member has been nothing short of monumental for my day-to-day life!

Social Mechanics is the only gym I have stuck with in my adult life and have been there for over 2 years now. The community is truly the best and a fantastic way to meet folks if you’re new to the area as there are a ton of transplants at the gym and we’re always pumped to meet new people. The workouts work for me because it’s truly strength and conditioning and not HIIT types which I’m personally not a huge fan of. Also, I appreciate how inclusive the workouts are to fit everyone’s fitness journey and gives multiple options of modifications depending on what works best for you. Its been awesome to create a new group of friends in my adult life as I said who are now even coming to my upcoming wedding. Very thankful for this bunch!

The laws of thermodynamics go right out the window as soon as you set foot in this forbidden dome of mystery. Kristin is a master trainer who honed her skills with decades of Pokémon Go experience. She will teach you to unlock the true power of your thorax through transcendental meditation and advanced holographic combat simulations. Each workout will leave you feeling like a rabid buffalo and you will crush your enemies without mercy. I’m truly grateful to this gym for giving me the ability to manipulate spacetime and sing songs in Hindi about bird flu. Not to mention the fridge is stocked with fresh gulf shrimp jalapeño poppers that will kick your workout into overdrive.

I worked out at Social Mechanics for 6 months or so. This is a fantastic gym. The staff really do care about your well being and work closely with you to meet your goals. The classes are organized in a way to give you both strength and cardio in one workout. This has been changed since they first opened. They are constantly improving way they host each classes and keep the social aspect of the workout as a priority.
I will guarantee you that you won't feel intimidated going to this gym. You don't need to lift heavy weights to fit in. Everyone knows and remembers where they were when they started.
They host various event through the month to bring fun to the mix. Check them out. You will be pleased with them.

I love Social Mechanics! I've been attending their classes 4-5 days a week on average and have seen great results in my strength, endurance, and body composition. I also really enjoy the relationships I've made at the gym. The class I go to (5:30am) is becoming a tight knit group. We encourage, challenge, and laugh with each other.
It's great to just show up at the gym and have my workout pre-planned, and I'm confident that I'll get a thorough full-body workout and work on cardio as well. I also train for half marathons, and I've seen a HUGE improvement in my pace since joining SM even though I'm running much less throughout the week. The muscle base and cardio work in the classes is such a solid foundation.

If you haven't tried this place, you need to! I've tried all kinds of workouts and trainers and this is hands down the best experience I've had. Your workout is over in 45ish minutes and is lead by a great, fun personal training staff. Workouts change every day so you never get bored and are always challenged. The people at the gym are friendly and very welcome to any new members. The trainers and staff become like your family and you enjoy going to the gym to hang out with them each day! I started out at a fairly beginner lever and am working my way up. I feel encouraged with each new step I take and am always supported by my Social Mechanics team!

I highly recommend you try this place out! I can't say enough good things about it. It is a fantastic workout that is fun, fast and different every time. The coaches are super nice and often entertaining, but more importantly, you can tell they love what they are doing and are there to guide you. They are super focused on form and proper technique. And the members are great, too. I've tried several different class times and everyone is so nice and eager to have a new person join the group. It's like a little fitness family! Try it - you'll love it!!
