About the Club

The Performance LAB Fort Worth is a training facility for people of all fitness levels, located in the Near Southside/Medical District, near downtown Fort Worth, TX. The LAB is open 24/7 for members, via FAB access. FIT classes are scheduled by appointment, 6 days per week.
FIT class is a coach-led, 28min total body workout, focusing on power, strength, endurance and cardio. Each class has an 8-person max and utilizes top of the line equipment and training strategies, with a primary focus on form, technique, and safety.

We offer strength training programs based upon each person's needs and goal, for people of all abilities, as well as one to one personal training.
The LAB also offers a meal prep program for those interested.

I had an incredible 28-minute HIIT session at The LAB yesterday with Kristin. It was one of the most motivating, well-structured workouts I’ve done—short, intense, and completely personalized. This is a coach based fitness gym that knows what they are doing. It's a compact yet complete and focused gym. Great facility, great coaches who will assess you, and build a program around you and your goals, and then guide you through it. The membership is phenomenal, with all enjoyable people in this relatively small facility working on their goals, With fun and encouraging fitness routines. I historically am not a gym guy and used to consider it toil; with many being grunter-bro-gyms. Not so here. Oh they have the heavy hard-core stuff and people hitting it hard. Yet, at this one, it's fun and I look forward to going and doing my workout on my schedule. I've been here for shy of half-a-year, and really like this gym. Prices are very fair for what you get. it's more cost-effective than most commercial gyms for that level.

The coaches can cater to Olympic level athletics (and sometimes do), as well as mortals just looking to do better - both very very well. They started me with an observed assessment workout, saw strengths and weaknesses, and built a plan from there based on my stated interests and goals. then guide me through each one; updating and changing my routines and schedule. They walk the floor the whole time to observe and offer guidance and correction where needed. Once you get your groove going, they are happy to leave you alone, or to assist, per your own preferences. Until you close out and they advance you to the next sheet level. It's a very well done balance.

The routines are fun (box-jumping is my current fav!), and also have plenty of classic exercising in there as well. For me, they make me wear just socks (most everyone else wears shoes) "Nope, no shoes for you yet - we're working on your balance" (for example)

I'll also observe, that while I'm a dude, females in particular find this is a very safe and comfortable place for women to be. My wife love this place, and after finally joining myself, I can see now why. I should have joined 4 years ago.

I've tried many gyms over the past couple of years, but The LAB is the one for me. The first time I went in, Brian and Kristin were extremely helpful and friendly, and Brian put me through a workout that put all others to shame. I had never been so sore! During that workout, their passion about fitness was obvious and I was instantly hooked.

In the 4 months since that first day, I've had highs and lows, but they've been there through it all. I've received encouragement when I needed it, empathy when I had an injury, and, most of all, motivation to keep pushing. I've never been in better shape or worked so hard...willingly. The programs they come up with are exactly what I need, and I've noticed a massive difference inside and out. Brian listened to my goals from Day 1 and I feel well on my way to achieving them.

As for the equipment, everything is clean and well organized. I never have a problem using what I need on any given day. I watch Brian and Kristin clean, and there are wipes and towels for members to use. I've even taken a shower before work and wasn't icked out like in the big gyms.

If you're nervous about going to a gym, I get it. I'm not skinny, and I wasn't in great shape when I started. You will find nothing but support here, both from Brian and Kristin, and the other gym members. I see people of all ages and all walks of life when I work out, and I think that the community of members is amazing. Plus, they do things for the local community, so you can feel even better about joining a gym that actually cares.

I have been a member of The Lab for coming up to 3 months now, and I cannot recommend it high enough. They have created a great space for beginners, well seasoned, professional athletes or (if your like me) people who fell off and struggled to get back on it. Well thought out, tailor made programmes, coaches on hand to motivate, support and teach and an atmosphere that is both inviting and inspiring to get that work. Science lead training. Coach Brian said to me I had to do two things 1) get my diet in line and 2) show up. I did those things and im already showing change. As someone who is very much an out of towner, they go out their way to invite everyone in to their space— which also extremely well maintained, clean, modern well kept equipment and ultimately this is a gym that not only cares about its equipment but also cares about its clients. 10/10

Incredible place!
I saw this place online and stopped by to check it out. I met Brian, who is the owner, who kindly offered to train me. It was one of the best workouts I have ever had. Brian took time to understand my concerns (abdominal separation) and created a workout specifically meet my needs. He was encouraging, knowledgeable and patient. I moved to Fort Worth a few months ago and was looking for a gym that feels like family. With a fitness journey you need people that believe in you even on the days it’s hard to believe in yourself- thankfully Brian and Kris have come into my life at a divine, necessary time! They have continued to tailor my gym regimen to my fitness goals, and always push me to do my best. I have always felt safe and supported.

To be transparent, today I had a much needed emotional breakdown about my weight, tears and all. I’ve been struggling with my weight since childhood, and the journey can feel so heavy and exhausting at times. Just the fact that I felt safe enough to open up to them and be vulnerable in that moment validates my decision of choosing this gym. I am so thankful.

Of the upmost professionalism and the definition of supreme. Come in and talk to Brian, the owner and I can guarantee from the moment you speak to him you can tell he genuinely cares about the health of his clients. I was visiting my son @cooks medical and he made me feel right at home. Gave me a tour and allowed me to use his facility for a mere drop fee and assured me I could return all day for the same fee. Originally I came down to Texas for baseball purposes and signed up to lift with him 2 times a week. By the end of the week after doing both of those workouts , I decided that 5 times a week would make me in the best shape of my life. It's fun being a physician and getting to see (in real time) how helpful fitness coaching can be. The Lab is owned by Coach Brian and Coach Kris and they do a phenomenal job of being supportive while holding you accountable to your personal goals. "You can't improve what you don't track" and whether you doing strength training or HIIT, both Coaches tailor the workout to your specific need without letting you slack. I've been working out there now for about 3 years; I bought the MyZone belt to hold me accountable and I've lost weight, have better numbers (lowered my bad cholesterol) and improved my mood. As a small gym, it's clean and members are incredibly supportive of one another regardless of body type, job, personality, or skill level. I started working out at the lab about a year ago and have been making very positive strides. Brian will write you a workout that works towards whatever goal you have in mind. Along with that Kris does a great job during the classes always counting down and cheering you on. Brian made me a personal lifting sheet that in just 2 weeks I already was making strides and getting a lot stronger. This place is amazing! I wandered into The Lab two years ago looking for a small, friendly neighborhood gym and have loved working out here ever since. Brian and Kristen are fabulous! They are always ready to answer your questions about an exercise or to check your form for you. Kristen also offers an affordable meal service of freshly prepared, delicious, and healthy food. Brian works hard to provide an inclusive and welcoming vibe to the gym, plus his community service projects are top notch! Did I mention Kettlebell?? He's only the sweetest lab pupperino ever!

HIIT classes are small and you never feel lost in a crowd (which, if we're being honest, also means Kristen won't let you slack off LoL). I also use the weights and even at 5 pm during the week, there's plenty of equipment available. If you're looking for a family oriented, chill gym to workout, definitely check out The Lab!

This is the best gym I’ve ever been a part of. The workouts are challenging and show results 👏 Brian will make you a customized program depending on your goals and hold you accountable. Update: Still loving the Lab! Only gym I've stayed consistent with and even got 2 friends to join too. I reached and surpassed my goals for the year (about 6 months ago). I lost all the extra weight and gained it back as muscle. I went up 100 lbs on back squat, 30 lbs on deadlift, and 55 lbs on bench press. AND, I met my lifelong goal of doing an unassisted chin up 😂 Brian and Kristin are the best to ever do it, hands down.

I cannot recommend The Lab, Brian, and Kristin enough!!! They are so committed to the success of their clients that it's basically unlimited personal training for a fraction of the cost of other gyms. I started in January (122 lbs) with the goal of looking more fit/losing body fat before a trip to Mexico this summer. After just 2 months, I'm already halfway to my weight loss goal (now 116 lbs and down 2.5% body fat) and more importantly, I (and everyone else) can see a drastic difference. Workouts and nutrition are tailored to you, your goals, and the amount of time you can commit. If you are not meeting your goals in the timeframe that you want, Brian will work with you to change your workouts so that you're not wasting time doing something that isn't working. All that said, the absolute best part about The Lab is Brian and Kristin. They will hold you accountable for your goals and challenge you to set new goals. They will welcome you every morning with positive attitudes. And they won't let you fail! I can't wait to update this post with a before/after picture when I surpass my goal this summer. Please try this gym right away if you're serious about changing your fitness.

I come to The Lab when I visit my family in DFW. I've worked out with both Bryan and Kristin and each workout has been amazing! I've done 1:1, as well as HIIT style classes. I love that when I sign up for a 1:1, I walk in, I'm greeted and asked what my goals are for the class. Then, I get a tailored workout based on what I need. For example, last class I said I wanted to focus on chest, back and arms. While conversing during the workout I mentioned I wanted to work on my lower chest, so Bryan adjusted the workout to give me what I wanted and provided me with exercises I could do outside of the gym. He's super knowledgeable about diet, protein intake and the science behind why their workouts are so effective.

I think the most spectacular thing about this place is its philanthropic mindset. Giving back to the community and schools plays a pivotal role in defining who The Lab is and that's something I feel like we need more of in this world ☺. Keep it up Bryan and Kristin! I can’t say enough good things about The Lab. Brian and Kris were so welcoming and knowledgeable. They focus on your goals and how to get you there in a healthy way. I started my training here being able to squat 195 pounds, a few months later I’m squatting 260. I’ve seen real results tailored to my lifestyle and my goals. They have all the equipment you could ever need and it’s all in pristine condition. Best of all, they have the cutest puppy that comes in to say hi.

As someone new to TX, this gym has become my home away from home. Great people, great programs, great equipment, great energy.

This place is great! The owners are so welcoming. I’ve done their 30 minute circuit-style classes, which are always challenging and a fun mix of exercises. They also offer personal training and open gym, and they have all the (nice, new) equipment you could ever want, with TVs to keep you entertained. As someone who travels and tries different gyms/classes a lot, it can be hard to find a gym like this that clearly has built a solid community and focuses on strength training, that is also perfect for people like me to drop in for a class here and there, but they have nailed it! Hidden gem in Fort Worth. If you are serious about training this gym should be on your radar and at the top of your list in this area. Extremely well equipped: squat racks and lifting platforms, plenty of kettlebells, barbells and plates and dumbbells of course. I was looking for a gym close to my apartment and came across this gym online and decided to check it out. I’ve been going almost 5 days a week since I joined and have loved my experience. I decided that not only did I want to lose weight but I wanted to get stronger and transform my body, so i signed up for their training program; which I think one of the best deals you can get for one on one training. Ive been training with Felicia and she has made the experience so easy and so much fun that it feels like working out with a friend. I was very intimidated by the gym but she has helped me feel more confident and she always keeps me motivated. I’m already almost one pant size down, i’m stronger, more toned and I feel great. Its a small gym so it has a family feel to it. All the trainers are great, super friendly and so helpful. Can’t recommend this place enough if you want to start your health journey.

It took a full year for my friends to pull me in. Finally I went...... Why did I wait so long?!!! Brian has helped formalize a plan to help me achieve my fitness goals and help me shape my body. Great gym, I always feel like I am working out with family. The gym and the classes are not intimidating like some of those big gyms where you can get lost and you are just a number. Everyone is so friendly and the owners and trainers care about you and your workout goals and can create a specialized workout just for you. Not only is the gym accessible 24/7 but it's cleaned on a regular basis, each client wipes down the machines and/or weights after use, and the staff regularly cleans and sanitizes the whole gym as well.

Such a great gym! The owners/trainers are super helpful and their workouts are TOUGH.

They offer a HIIT class every half hour and after you are done with that, you can stay and do one of their designed weight workouts. I love having the trainers there if I have questions but the weight training is all self directed.

It’s also super clean (which I have def been to many facilities that are not so I really appreciate this!)

I selfishly do not want to leave a review because this place is INCREDIBLE and I want it all to myself.

But seriously, Im on the other side of 30 and wanted to get in shape. I've been to all the Big Box Gyms and have worked out on my own (post athletic career) for many years now. I stopped seeing results and knew I needed someone to "kick my behind" (g-rated) in order to get where I wanted to be.

I tried cross-fit, one class, and knew it wasn't for me. Plus I didn't want to be counted among the slew of walking wounded that regularly participate in cross-fit activities. I was looking for something different. Something that provided functional movement, high reps, and high intensity.

A much doughier version of myself called The Performance Lab 10 weeks ago and I haven't regretted it one iota. Over the past 10 weeks I've noticed a distinct difference in my physique. The wife is noticing as well...which is plus plus.

The workouts are 30 minutes long, but intense and tough. Be ready. They're no joke, but that's ok. They're well worth it. All of the movements are functional and familiar. I now work out 1.5 hrs a day 5 days a week and have never felt a muscle pull or any tenderness. I can honestly say I am hooked to this gym and these workouts.

All the gym goers are friendly. There is a solid level of community here that is hard to replicate.

Last but not least, the owners Brian and Kristin (sp? e) are extremely attentive to you. They are alway around to coach and encourage you to be your best self.

This is by far the best gym experience I've ever had and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a better fitness experience.
