Our class is scheduled for an hour, but they consistently end it 15 minutes early. The staff keeps changing, with new employees appearing every few months, and their performance tends to decline over time. Additionally, we've witnessed several injuries because the staff refuses to help kids who struggle to open the door, even if they weigh just 25 pounds.

I’m writing to tell you about our experience at The Little Gym. While we admire the gym’s interest in the physical needs of children, there are some troubling patterns that we can’t ignore.

We’ve often seen classes end much earlier than planned when the head coach is out. That is in question when it comes to the structure of the class and how closely it interacts with the children. Additionally, we think the younger workers might be a little bit less attentive because they’re sometimes too busy with other things to be in close contact with the children.

There was an instance this last week when another child was knocked hard by their heavy door, which sent warnings to us about supervision and classroom engagement. That neglect would have lead to a worse injury and, as parents, it’s distressing to see this type of disregard.

Continual turnover of coaching staff adds to our concern, disrupting continuity and potentially reducing care quality. Given these concerns, my wife and I are already considering trying a different gym to provide a safer, more focused environment for our child.

In summary, there are plenty of positives about The Little Gym, but we are facing ongoing issues with staff engagement and safety that warrant us resigning as members. We would like to see improvement in these areas for all of the children attending.

My son loves going every week! He enjoys burning out all his energy and learning new things while making friends along the way! The staff helps my son feel super comfortable to be himself--they encourage him to try every activity but it's only if my son is willing to do so. Every child is free to explore the gym as they please without being forced to do the exercises. I look forward to going to bond with my son as well as with the other parents and their littles.

We had our little one’s birthday here today and they made everything absolutely perfect! The hostesses were the most kind and amazing with our kiddos! They took care of all the decorating, serving, entertaining, and clean up! 100000/10! If I could give more stars I would!

We went to the little gym for a birthday party and I have to say that it was the perfect experience for any young kids! They could run around, trip, fall, and just be their own clumsy selves without getting hurt. The staff is incredibly nice as well! Would definitely recommend for any occasion!

Our little one loves the obstacle at the little Gym, Ms. Ashleigh is fun and creative and gives each beastie the individual attention and encouragement they need. Our little gymnast started out unbalanced and “squishy” now after a few months has the confidence and stamina to have the adventures an exploring toddler enjoys!

Only regret is not joining sooner, we love the little gym! This has helped my daughter learn and grow so much already, and that’s because we’re barely getting started. I went inside (4/15/2021 at 5:35pm) and waited for almost 15mins in front of the reception desk but the front desk staff didn’t even care for me to ask what I wanted or why I am waiting there, even though they know that I am waiting to talk to them since two of them were sitting at the front desk only and was attending or registering new joiners before me! and they were aware that I am waiting next after them in the queue. I just went to ask for details to join my baby and was not really happy with their attitude. Don’t want to put my kid here, where the staff don’t even know the basic manners and courtesy. Really disappointment!!!

Unfortunately, our experience with The Little Gym wasn’t what we had hoped. My 23 month old twin grandsons were born prematurely. At the advisement of their Dr’s, and due to special health concerns, they have been restricted in regards to being introduced to different social settings. They love running and climbing, so we felt this would be a good place to start. Our first class was rough. Our little guys were not at all interested in sitting for circle time and we recognize that they were disruptive. However, they were allowed to stay in the class to run and play. Our hope was that this would allow them to become familiar with this new setting. When we went for week 2, the class instructor advised my daughter that we would need to take them to the Lobby if they became upset, and observe from there. My daughter asked if they could run and play as they had done the week prior, and she said no. The option was not given to try them again once they settled down. They are 23 months old and “observing” the activities in the Lobby through the glass wasn’t going to happen. I will say that my daughter was refunded the full amount. I am appreciative of that. I do think it’s important to recognize that not all little ones have an easy start in this world. Circle time and peer group play are experiences that our little guys are just now able to learn because of their life circumstances.

I am very disappointed in the experience that my niece had with her twins at The Little Gym. This was the boys’ first time to be in an environment such as this. The staff that taught the class had little patience with them. When they arrived for their second class, they were visibly upset and crying. The teacher asked my niece to take them to the lobby and sit and watch as opposed to bringing them back in after they were no longer crying. Never did she say to settle them down and give it another try. For preemie twins that have been at home the majority of their lives due to the pediatrician’s orders, I was saddened that they were not willing to work with the little guys. I am a retired school teacher. I understand that one or two misbehaved children can disrupt an entire class. Those are the times you reach out to the child and try to build a relationship. In no way did any of my family expect preferential treatment, we only wanted the opportunity to expose the boys to life outside of their home. The Little Gym was not the place for them. From the other reviews that I have read, it does serve as great experience for others. I wish them the best. I can say that they refunded my niece the money for the classes. I appreciate that. I only wish there was a way to refund her hurting mama heart.

This is the cleanest, nicest gym in town!!

It's obviously the most clean facility in Lubbock. They start classes at 4 months and it's the only place I would let my baby crawl around on the floor. You can tell they work very hard at keeping it spotless. We just enrolled our youngest in a mom and me class. The instructor is so nice and helpful. The information in class is very detailed and they even kept telling me how to do these things at home to better strengthen and play with my little one. We have multiple children and my daughter is loving the dance class. It's tap, ballet, and gymnastics lol together. Which is nice since she couldn't decide at 3 which one she wanted to do more. I can't say enough about how great the employees are. They open the door and greet you when you enter, remember everyone's name immediately and taught my daughter a cartwheel almost immediately! We are loving this place!!

Our family has been going to The Little gym for over a year - we started when our little one was around 9 months. Our daughter LOVES it, and I can honestly say she's better off developmentally because of The Little Gym. The class has also helped her follow directions! As an added benefit, she takes great naps after her classes because it wears her out! I have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Little Gym.

We also did our 2nd birthday party there this year. As we were leaving the party, my husband said, "we are having her birthday here until she's 18."
They just do a great job. They decorate the place for you (just drop off the decorations sometime the week before), they organize the party, they wear out the kids with activities and then they help serve the kids the birthday cake for you. At one point I was trying to pass out drinks to the adults and one of their staff grabbed it from me and said, "let me take care of that for you." I mean, wow?! And then to top it all off- they cleaned up afterwards and helped me carry everything to the car. As my husband said, we will be having many more birthday parties there for years to come.

My daughter is almost 2 and just started taking classes at the Little Gym. Over the past month we have learned that good teachers make all the difference! She has learned more in a month at the Little Gym than our older daughter learned in an entire semester at another gym in town. She is getting familiar with the routine and we can almost make it through an entire class without getting distracted. I love the learning units and how she can enhance her knowledge of body parts, letters, numbers while learning gymnastics techniques. Classes are on the expensive side, but I'd say it's worth every penny!

I have both of my daughters signed up for classes here and they absolutely love them. My youngest is in the parent/child class and I am amazed at how much they learn compared to other parent/child classes that I have been to in the past. Not only are they learning basic skills in gymnastics, but they also integrate letter and sound recognition, rhymes, opposites, sign language, etc. The teacher is very energetic and seems to have a genuine love of children.
My older daughter is enrolled in dance class and she absolutely loves it. She is learning the basics of ballet and tap, and they also incorporate some time for basic gymnastics into the dance class schedule (which I was not expecting, but was a pleasant surprise).
Overall, I am so happy that I chose this program as opposed to others in the Lubbock area. I'm amazed at the new skills my children are picking up every week, and mostly I'm just happy that they are involved in something where they are having so much fun.

The Little Gym is a great place to let your child learn fundamentals of gymnastics. The teachers are VERY knowledgeable and provide extremely valuable information on how to help your kids at home. Not only do they work with your kid on gymnastics exercises, they also focus on social development. Even further, they give strategies for good basic teaching techniques away from the gym. This is an overall happy place to be! There is no other place I would take my child to learn gymnastics!

My 3 year old loves his classes and looks forward to going every week. The owner "Mr. J.D." and teacher "Miss Riley," make a point to remember my son's name, and work with his strengths and weaknesses. They most of all have fun, but manage to teach kids activities to keep them fit and active. We have tried other places in Lubbock in the past, but we did not receive the same one on one attention that keeps the focus. We recently enrolled our 2.5 yr old daughter and she love love loves The Little Gym everyday she asks if she can go to her "flip class". Everything about The Little Gym is fantastic it is so bright and cheery. We really like that we get to participate in the class with our daughter and see her face light up everytime she tries something new. They teach many different things not just "flips" the children learn how to follow directions, improve their listening skills, balance and coordination. Every week they learn something new. The staff is beyond friendly, energetic, encouraging, and informative. We count down the days until the next class.
