Extremely disappointing experience. I canceled my membership and was clearly told that there would be no additional charges, yet my credit card was charged without my authorization. This shows a complete lack of professionalism and respect for customers.

They failed to honor their word and showed no real concern about fixing the situation. This is unacceptable behavior for any business. I would strongly advise others to be cautious before dealing with this gym.

Dan is truly the best coach me and my husband could have hoped for. His nutrition, fitness, and overall health insights have been amazing, and I’ve learned so much from him. I even trained with him throughout my pregnancy and couldn’t be happier with the results—he made me feel strong, safe, and supported every step of the way.

Beyond the results, his support and guidance made the whole journey motivating and enjoyable!! If you’re looking for someone knowledgeable, inspiring, and genuinely invested in your progress, Dan is the one!

I came across their Instagram adverts and it peaked my interest a few months ago. I recently moved nearby and went to see the space and get a feel for the vibe. The space was lovely, clean and practical. The majority of the patrons were in decent shape and in maintenance mode. So, It might be apparant that you stick out prior to "fitting" in and you will "feel" it. The individual/tour guide that showed me around was pleasant and professional and made sure to explain the specifics of each area and various accommodations. She answered all questions and even some that might have been redundant, but indeed were for full clarity and disclosure. The gym is not a good fit for me and I geared towards one of a higher calibur/echelon. However, Kudos to said tour guide that maintained her professionalism after I shared a reality/truth with her. It was indeed a test that confirmed I made the right and best decision for myself.

One of a kind space for health in Houston. Not only were they so kind, but the facility is amazing. It’s bright and calm and quiet. And they are protective of the amount of members they allow, so the feeling of exclusivity remains. This is so important for our clients and so many busy women and men in the area. Having the freedom to be in a beautiful space without having to fight a crowd, with every amenity you could ever ask for makes this one of our favorite places for fitness in the area.

New member- Gym is clean, aesthetic, has a great selection of classes (although it would be nice to offer different levels) and has great equipment however, they do not have a sauna only a steam room. A cold plunge would also be nice to have! Friendly staff. Overral good spot compared to whats out there. I like a civilized gym and value that their standards are kept up for members.

I live in NYC, but every time I’m in Houston, I make it a point to get a one-week pass at The Preserve. It’s truly a sanctuary — a thoughtfully designed space that nurtures both body and mind.

The variety of classes is incredible, and each one is led by professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely inspiring instructors. Special shoutout to Ernesto and Roy for their positive energy and willingness to always help!

Whether you’re a local or just visiting, The Preserve is absolutely worth it. Can’t recommend it enough!

The Preserve has been a fantastic place to train. It’s clean, spacious, and well equipped with a great variety of gear. The open layout makes workouts feel focused but never crowded, and the environment is welcoming. The front desk staff is always friendly, and there’s a personalized feel to the whole experience. Adam clearly leads his team well, and it shows in the professionalism and positive energy throughout the gym.

I’ve been training with Thema, and she’s been a game changer for my fitness. She designs workouts that are both creative and effective, helping me build strength while being mindful of my neck, shoulder, back and knee issues. Her approach is smart, safe, and tailored. I always feel challenged, but in control. I’m moving better, feeling stronger, and more confident every week.

Highly recommend both The Preserve Gym and Thema as a personal trainer.

The staff who is present early morning seems confused about the payment procedures and are not respectful. That said, staff who are present in the evening are very welcoming and courteous.
It’s overall a good place to workout but lacks certain essential equipment. It’s not worth for the amount you pay.

I’m an avid gym goer so I’m a bit critical of fitness facilities. Aesthetically this place is clean and organized. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. I think this gym appeals to a certain demographic and it’s fitting. The gym does lack a selection of equipment but enough for a functional workout.

-5/5 salt water pool.
-2/5 yoga classes. Slow flow isn’t challenging enough and the teacher played her breakup playlist. Yin was nice but there are only classes in the late evening.
-1/5 group fitness schedule and timing.
-3/5 lifting section. They don’t have an assisted pull-up machine.
-3/5 cardio section. There are screens in between each machine for “germs” which don’t allow you to communicate with your workout partner on the machine next to you.

I was a member here for one month in october 2024, I didn’t find value anywhere other than the pool so I cancelled. I planned to purchase day passes to swim occasionally, but now (February 2025) they’ve messaged me to tell me I owe them for 4 months and they claim they have no record of my cancellation request. So if I want to purchase day passes, I have to back-pay for the last few months that I was not a member.

-0/5 customer service. Management isn’t willing to waive this imposed back-pay. Unfortunate because I was willing to continue paying for day passes to use their pool.

I’ve been going to the preserve for years and absolutely love it. Adam is the Head Manager there and always made me feel welcome since I walked in. This is not just a beautiful build but each class is tailored and uniquely curated for those who sign up. The inside is amazing with cycle, Pilates, plenty of machines and free weights to use. They also have a long heated pool for those who want to do laps and release tension from the day. Their bathrooms are insane and have everything you could possibly need. The preserve is also a great place to make connections and network given the high clientele they have. I would recommend this place to anyone.

*****Beware of BURGLARY*****

I went to visit a friend at what seemed to be a nice gym on a guest pass because I was interested in possibly joining.

While at the gym, my vehicle window was smashed in, while parked on the front row of the parking lot in broad daylight. Expensive personal belongings were stolen from me and the gym security footage quality was not good enough to capture the burglars license plates.

Gym management seemed to care but ultimately said it was “just one of those things.”

Needed a membership for two weeks in my trip through Houston and they were so amenable! What a breath of fresh air. Other gyms tend to scowl and don’t have reasonable options for travelers. My review is based on a short time but it was a GREAT time.

This gym:
Pros
-incredibly clean and maintained by ever-present staff
-smaller than other luxury gyms but much better organized, wonderfully stocked with everything you could need for a big goner to advanced workout, and feels spacious.
-has TONS of classes that mimic some of the branded classes like SoulCycle and Pump, etc. The instructors are great, personable, and motivating.
-had a small (3-4 people) steam room in the gendered locker rooms.
-had an outdoor workout area! Yay!
- has a two lane lap pool. Appointment only. I think it’s heated.
-has a GREAT app that I’ve found intuitive to use and keeps me updated on class openings and other offerings.
-easy location, sufficient parking, easy to get signed up and start working out.

Cons:
- classes/rooms are small, no more than 8-12 people, which felt great to me. It means you need to sign up for class and show up!
-no recreational pool, only lap lanes.

Stepping into The Preserve Gym was the beginning of a transformative fitness journey for me. This place redefined my workout experience, blending the pleasure of exercising with the beauty of nature. The gym’s unique nature-inspired design, envisioned by owner Molly Carter, creates an atmosphere where working out feels more like a rejuvenating retreat than a chore.

The two-level gym, spanning nearly 16,000 square feet, is equipped with top-of-the-line equipment catering to all my fitness needs. The range of classes offered is impressive, and the small class sizes allow for personalized attention from the professional trainers. Whether it’s Pilates, which is a standout at the gym, high-intensity workouts, or a variety of yoga classes, there’s something for every fitness enthusiast.

One of the highlights is the heated saltwater lap pool, providing a serene swimming experience. The gym is never overcrowded, maintaining an exclusive and peaceful environment. The staff are welcoming and attentive, making every visit a pleasure.

The Preserve is more than just a gym; it’s a sanctuary in the heart of Houston where fitness goals are nurtured and achieved in the most motivating and enjoyable way. I am incredibly grateful for the impact it has had on my fitness journey, making it a place I look forward to visiting every day.

They have “challenges” for their members to advertise so they can win prizes. I think one requirement is to write a good review. This makes the good reviews less trustworthy, in my opinion.

Was a good gym, but has been getting worse now that they have over 700 members. It used to have a good, small gym feel, but has been going the way of corporate gyms. Not worth it anymore. I’ve been a member for a few years, but I’m going to switch.

I’ll start by saying I am really not a “gym person,” normally I’m the person you have to drag to the gym because I just don’t really feel comfortable for several reasons (overcrowded, creepy guys, etc) but this gym is seriously amazing. It’s almost always empty and everyone there is so welcoming! I’ve never been to a gym that has such a therapeutic environment and it makes me not hate going to the gym which is a first. I also really appreciate the saltwater pool, I just wish they had lounge chairs out there too.

Training with Daniel has been such a positive influence in my health and wellness journey. I’m a long distance runner that has been dealing with recurring injuries and with Daniel’s Fascial Therapy expertise, I overcame those injuries and in the process became extremely self-aware of my muscular imbalances and where my weaknesses are. Daniel’s expertise has helped educate me not just in the fitness aspect, but also wellness. It has helped me develop a healthy lifestyle that is sustainable in the long-term, and for that I’m extremely grateful for! How does a gym make you feel motivating, homey and relaxing, all at the same time? The Preserve is where I actually look forward to working out and swimming in between hectic work schedules.

Highlights: Little crowd, very clean, no wait on equipments, highly experienced and holistic trainers/teachers, non-chlorinated and heated outdoor pool, outdoor rig on a turf, and genuinely personable staff.

One thing that I really like is the seemingly like-minded crowd. They're typically focused, disciplined, courteous i.e. puts equipment back where it belongs. You rarely see folks on their phones, lacking situational awareness too. It kind of reminds you of the good old gym days!

Folks who said it's small has yet to appreciate how nice it is to not needing to walk five minutes to get from one workout area to another. It has a wide range of key equipments for all types of workout on the same floor/area. It is clearly a very thought out fitness center and this makes it a rare find in Houston.

I don’t ever give reviews… but I had to give this one!! I’ve had a bad experience with customer service and general professionalism at this gym. The gym itself is pretty. I was looking for a spa feel to a gym from what I have experienced living abroad for many years. I joined this gym on the 28th of January 2022 on a monthly basis. During the first few weeks I went to a few yoga classes and used the facility once or twice. I received notifications and emails from the gym and instructors. After experiencing it, it did not have the spa feel as there is no sauna and the steam room which I used once is so small that it can only hold 3 people max. Besides that, which is fine and can be overlooked as I saw it as just a gym from that point.

Unfortunately I fell ill and had complications with my Type 1 diabetes. After a week of trying to go and realizing I had no strength, I phoned the gym and spoke to Lakeisha who I beckoned with to please put my membership on hold, stating that I could feel better tomorrow and come or in a few weeks which she did. I received absolutely no notification of the hold being up or the next billing cycle. At that point I had not seen the gym in over 2 weeks. I then saw a charge of $200+ out of my account in real time. I immediately called them, telling them no one sent a notification or an email and that I would like to cancel my account and request a refund. They told me to send an email, which I instantly did. I waited for a response, a week later and there still was no response so I called. I spoke to Tyler who said they don’t have my email- which I then sent him screenshots of my emails. After 3 weeks of lack of communication, a run around and utter nonsense they said in an email “I opted out for notifications in my contract” - I stated that that was a lie and I did not… showing proof of other emails and notifications for classes etc. that I did receive. They also said “ oh it’s a big gym we can’t email everyone” - which I responded your selling point is personalized and your classes don’t hold more than 20 people. On their IG they blatantly say “no contracts”. It’s the dishonesty, greed and overall lack of care for their clients that strikes me!!! Save your money, there are much better places with less pretentious, much nicer, honest people out there! That one star is for the designer who created a pretty gym… that’s it!!

This nature-inspired fitness club is a breath of fresh air compared to many gym experiences of the past. The Preserve has created an oasis of fitness with stunning architecture, quality amenities, and professional staff. It has a resort spa/fitness facility feel to it. They offer a variety of challenging small-group classes led by a fantastic collective of trainers. The class times are diverse and start on-time. The overall experience of the club is very intimate and many of the staff and members are on a first-name basis. The staff is very professional and do their best to keep everything in tip-top shape. It’s rarely crowded and they also have a tranquil outdoor space where you are welcome to take some equipment outside or just grab some tea or coffee and take a breather at the garden tables. I also enjoy the outdoor saltwater pool which is heated. As the temperature drops outdoors, the pool gets reasonably comfortable for a swim. I love that there is an alternate entry to the locker rooms for quick pool access, that is very convenient. Outside of working out, the locker room is another wonderful space. A toasty steam room, oversized showers, and plenty of towels make it the perfect space to rejuvenate yourself. There is so much to love about this place and I think you will have to come experience it to see what resonates with you the most. Bottom line, if you’re looking for a beautiful, clean, and classy place to begin your fitness journey with a touch of zen, this is the place for you.

Beware of all the good reviews notice that they only have 1 review in some cases. These are fake reviews.

This is a beautiful gym, but the loud trainer literally takes over the gym except for a few corners. The yelling over your music is really irritating after work and he is there daily. This group literally blocked off all the dumbells and benches. They don't even move over so you can grab some dumbells. All of this for a few people.

He said he is there M-Th. If you are looking to find what you need on your schedule note how early they close and plan on lots of pressure to leave starting at 730 or so.

Towels all over the floor in the locker room and the attendant just ignored them. I canceled after about 3 visits and was given a "it will be in your email with cancelation instructions." The cancelation was completed without any apology or explanation. They didn't even confirm receipt of it.

The price is not worth what is offered. There are many other gyms like Alphalete who offer better pricing. There are also other gyms that have more equipment and offer classes with membership less than 50.00 a month. You can't justify the cost for what is offered just because of the area. Anyone that is smart with their money will see it's a horrible investment. Coming here dolled up with makeup and perfume to walk on a treadmill to show off your 300.00 outfit is nonsense. No wonder people can't take gyms like this serious...

Anna’s Saturday Sculpt class is by far one of the best classes I have ever taken. Not only is she stunningly beautiful just to look at, but she keeps you positively motivated throughout the entire class. The class it’s self is consistent but never doing the same exercise so you won’t get bored with it and because she changes the exercise each week for the different muscle groups, your body and mind are constantly challenged, therefore you can see and feel the benefits just after a few classes. I have never felt my abs burn like I did today! The bicycle crunches with the band is now my new favorite! I love everything about this gorgeous gym, the classes and the instructors! I actually now enjoy working out and look forward to it!!!

I was excited to hear about The Preserve and went to check it out and get some more information. The monthly membership is over 200 dollars, and all fitness classes are EXTRA on top of that. In addition, the hours are quite limited compared to any other gym in the area. I would have loved to make the investment in a membership, but sadly, those factors really push The Preserve out of the running.

This gym really is a "Preserve," an oasis in the concrete jungle of Houston. All the folks who work there go out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. The manager, Adam, is a prince, and I think his beautiful attitude filters down not only to the employees, all of whom are friendly and approachable, but also to the people who work out at the gym, and there are never that many. It is never crowded, which always amazes and pleases me. Crowded gyms in Houston are usually the rule, but not at The Preserve. And the facility itself is amazing -- windows floor-to-ceiling everywhere, a salt water swimming pool, outdoor yoga facilities, even some green space, all super clean space, superb modern equipment, great instructors if you like Pilates or yoga or what have you. What's not to like?

This place is disgusting since the two ladies that were management was let go. There is garbage all over the place now. And they cant keep any good help in the office now. I have been here for two years, it was nice but not anymore. Hope to move soon!!
