I had taken classes from them in the past, and I hadnβt been back in a long time, so I was excited for the class. The power yoga class was really good, and the instructor I took it with seemed knowledgeable and got me situated once I arrived. However, here are the things I didnβt like:
1. I was afraid I was going to be late, so I was calling them like crazy so that the front door was not locked and so I could go in. It didnβt matter which location I called to, they all went straight to voicemail. Never answered once. When I got to the place, the instructor was by the reception, so I donβt understand why no one never returned my calls.
2. During the class, I got dizzy, and immediately after the class the memberships were being advertised to me. I get it, it is their job to get new members, but I would have appreciated it a lot more if the interaction would not have felt so transactional. Especially if I was unwell.

This gym is absolutely amazing! The perfect blend of strength, endurance, and flexibility in the gym and the hot room classes. The coaches are knowledgeable, supportive, and push you to be your best, no matter your fitness level. The atmosphere is fun, friendly, and incredibly motivatingβeveryone cheers each other on! Whether you're looking to challenge yourself or just move in a welcoming space, this gym has it all. Highly recommend!

Iβve been a member for nearly ten years and was never able to attend the Football Fever event on Super Bowl Sunday. I attended this year and it was by far the most entertaining and energetic class with a surprise βsplashβ of excitement! Thank you Dorthy and the Union Team!

I loved the environment when you walk in. I was very pleased that the instructors remembered my name after just my 1st day and everyone in the community and in the classes are very supportive. it's a very positive environment especially when your skills is not equal to everyone. Most of all I got one heck of a workout on my first 2 sessions!

I appreciate all the instructors and what they bring each day. They maintain a positive vibe at 0500. The variety of classes works for me and my schedule. Each class is an adventure based on the instructor and what they hold in store. Rumor has it they enjoy planning the torture, oops exercises. I am surrounded by good energy, and the classes allow me to clear my head. I mean who can concentrate when you are on the 6th set of burpees? The Union is an inviting, friendly, and positive place. I highly recommend it.

I love the coaching and guidance I get in the gym and in the hot room. The gym equipment is accessible to women and people of all ability levels. The teachers are good about presenting modifications or giving you one if you ask for it. There is a good variety of classes available throughout the day.

I've been a member of The Union since 2011. It's simply THE BEST place in San Antonio to practice yoga, pilates, TRX, Crossfit, and a slew of other classes. Three locations around town make it super convenient and all locations have clean restrooms and shower facilities. The staff is first rate! These are again THE BEST, most talented, professional instructors I've had the pleasure to train under. A lot of people say that yoga changed their lives. I say that yoga at THE UNION changed mine! Take a few classes here. You won't be sorry!

I can't say enough good comments about my experience of hot yoga at the union. The teachers are wonderful, challenging, attentive, friendly, knowledgeable. I feel wonderful inside my body like I never have before. They offer a 90 minute class, which means a lot to someone like myself who likes to be thorough, and to manifest maximum results. Life is better with hot yoga at the union.
I take back what I said before, complaining about the small room. I don't think they use small room very often now, and I guess some people are okay with it.

I attended one class and signed up for a one month trial. I tried booking several times and left messages and wrote an email about booking for the classes. No one ever responded to me and since I live half an hour away, it is important I secure a spot so as to not have wasted my time. They had assured me that my I could book through my Mind Body app after I had signed up, but the app would not let me book. The app kept saying to call for an appointment. No one ever responded to my email or phone calls. Poor customer service.

Beware of buying a TRIAL MEMBERSHIP! After notifying Union that we wanted to discontinue the membership, Union billed my credit card for $1,499.40. The Manager, Mark, claimed that as long as they knew my credit card information, they could bill it. DO NOT LET THEM HAVE ANY CREDIT CARD INFORMATION!!!

Imagine taking a yoga class in an old church gymnasium- old carpet, florescent lighting, gross ceiling tiles- and this is what itβs like to take yoga here. In addition to the subpar facility, the instructor I had was AWFUL! I almost walked out of the class her instruction being so bad- just imagine someone speed reading through the poses while barking orders at you. She also didnβt bother to help out those that were struggling- one poor lady was trying her best and she didnβt bother to assist at all or give alternate poses. I received a text and informed them of my bad experience, only to be told I should just check out the other facilities instead π Unfortunately I wasted $20 for the intro pass- you can go to the other facilities but the classes didnβt align with my schedule...

Worst service ever experienced in my life!! Go find some place else for your yoga. Their bussiness practice is so shady. I asked for a cancellation before the end of the month but they still charged me money for the next month and refuses to refund me because I was late by their so called deadline by a few days!

Such a fantastic space, the instructors are awesome, the practice is well planned and executed, the overall cleanliness is very high, and the schedule across the 6 spaces is so inclusive. I could not be happier and signed a contract on my first day. Iβve been to many yoga studios and gyms before that I loved but each lacked in one way or another, I feel like The Union has a really good balance of all things yogi and gym.

I absolutely love Bikram yoga. I started 5 years ago but my practice really kick started in Austin about 3 years ago. I went almost everyday for nine months. I even started studying for teacher training in California. 3 weeks in I found out I had Lymes disease not something too know around Texas. I started my treatment with long term antibiotics and holistic IVs ever weekday. My body got so small and frail I had no energy to leave my apartment much less train for yoga, so I stopped and start the worst year of my life, I had full blow Lymes in my body for 15 years and we were just on the tip of it.
I began to have mild seizure everyday all day for a month but what I realized is, I had learned from this form of yoga, is breathing to calm the central nervous system. The very basic first step you take In the class, breathing, saved my life. As my mom or friends held me and said "yoga breathes" I could calm myself to a point of stillness. I found that I had cause brain damage to myself but if I hadn't been able to breath myself out of the seizure every time to may not have been around to right this review today.
As you can imagine have Lymes since you were 8 years old, being undiagnosed for all these years, and not knowing why I couldn't keep up in cheerleading high school or college, or why I couldn't keep my eyes open and class and stayed awake all night, and constantly seeing doctors for weird unknown fevers or swollen joints. Of course I blamed it on being a flyer but there was no denying after my first year cheering in college it was more than just the cheer that had my body on lock down. I eventually dropped out of school and this is when I began my yoga journey blind to the disease inside me. With every class I could feel myself getting stronger, mentally and physically, I even got off some of my pain medication and doctors finally became a thing of the past, for awhile at least. The yoga was helping me in every way I need. Concentration. I could open up my hips and shoulders allowing more blood flow to my extremities, which helped my joint pain. My morale was up, I had confidence again and A team of true yogis behind me (which is my favorite part of the Bikram yoga gym experience), feels like home in every studio I walk I into. And lastly my body was so banging I had lost 10 pounds and rocked a 8 pack
This yoga is worth the expense. You wouldn't search for the cheapest Doctor if you were deathly ill, you'd go to the place that is meant to save you. And that's what the yoga does, not just for me but for countless yogis that want to improve there immune system, get some good cardio, find peace within themselves, and do the only true form of yoga in the U.S.
After a long break of fighting off my Lymes I am no able to get back into the hot chamber here at the Hollywood park studio if I'm not too weak, and even if I am going and sitting, listening to the class I can break a fever and find relief. Every one from the staff is understanding including my fellow classmates who are just as kind as can be. The staff helps you through out the class to make sure your getting the maximum amount out of each session and are always around before and after to sign you in , make sure you get your mat and towels, to see if you have any questions, or (my favorite) check out their selection of hot yoga apparel.
Yes class is not easy, yes you will definitely sweat yes there are days you want to say "screw this." But if you stay focused and try each class you can improve every muscle, joint in your body lengthen and tone and just might just safe your life, it will for sure at least Improve it.

This place is way too expensive it's ridiculous. They offer hot yoga and crossfit, but if you just want the hot yoga it's still $109 month... Not a good deal at all. You can get better prices at Lifetime for much cheaper, don't waste your money.
