Came here for over a year when I lived in South ATX before moving abroad. Instructor shows you a routine and you repeat it on the bags. Some trainers may have variances like coming around with pads to work with you one on one, a HIIT-like circuit built in to class, etc. You have a lot of regulars here and gives you a feeling of community. Classes sometimes will get full so make sure to book a spot on the app. Mall parking can get crowded though I never had trouble getting a spot despite class being full.

I attended classes at TFK for almost two years and loved it! I was very sad when I had to cancel due to moving. I tried several gyms in Austin before finding TFK, and not only were they the most affordable (by a LOT), but they were also the best. I loved the vibe, the supportive coaches and other attendees, and the class itself. It was always a great mix of bag work and full body strengthening and I always felt great after a workout. I highly recommend TFK to anyone looking to try kickboxing for the first time, or anyone who has boxed before looking for a new gym.
I particularly loved Jerry’s Monday night classes— the music was a blast and the high energy workout was just what I needed on a Monday.

Solid gym for the essentials. I wish the classes had more variability and more space on the floor. They made it really hard to cancel membership, taking a long time to reply to me and then I was still charged after they confirmed my cancellation. Nice owner but seems like the gym is unorganized.

I love this gym!! I was nervous to take a class since I have no experience, but Rebecka immediately put me at ease. I have not worked out or committed to my fitness in a long time, but she encouraged me to just keep moving. The instructors at TFK make me feel comfortable, supported, and proud of my progress after each class. If you are looking to make a change but don’t know where to start, this is a great place to start getting active and motivated about your fitness. I cannot recommend them enough!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS GYM. If you are new to the sport I highly recommend taking Amy K and Donald’s class within your first week. They make it a point to work on fundamentals during the class without slowing down the class or ruining the rhythm of the workout. It is so much fun but easy to get injured if you do not know what you’re doing. Always good energy, great staff, and amazing workouts!

By far one of my favorite classes on ClassPass! Low-pressure, beginner-friendly, killer workout, and really, really fun.

I’ve tried other fitness kickboxing classes, but they were gimmicky, uncomfortable, and not nearly as enjoyable. TFK, however, is so unassuming and such a gem. Can’t recommend it enough!

It’s a great workout for everyone—especially those who are just starting their fitness journey. The workout is tough, but it’s super adaptable and there are plenty of instructional breaks sprinkled in for recovery. Also, no one cares if you take a water break and rest for a few beats. That said, beating the **** out of a bag is super enjoyable, so it’s easy to forget how hard you’re working—I burned more than 600 calories yesterday like it was nothing.

If you’re new, show up 20 minutes early so they can walk you through the basics. You can buy wraps for a few bucks and they have gloves to borrow. Don’t hesitate to ask if you have questions about form during the class—they’re really helpful. And if all else fails, you can modify the combos to your liking/ability level. After a few classes, you’ll get the hang of it.

What I love most is that they make an effort to welcome you into the fold and build community. They do a lot of partner and group work, which I find refreshing—gyms and fitness classes can sometimes feel a little cold and anti-social, particularly if you don’t fit the profile of a “gym person.” This is probably the only place where I’ve felt truly comfortable, even as a total newbie. You’ll see what I mean when you get there!

Really love this place and highly encourage you check it out. For me, music is a really big motivator for working out and I found myself getting attached to specific trainers and playlists so I wasn’t always motivated to go all week if my fav people didn’t coincide with my schedule. I also didn’t want to do a membership because sometimes I want to switch it up with other things and phases of life. Would LOVE if this had a drop in class option. I’d do that for sure. Loved the people and management. My 11 yr old son and I were able to work out together. When summer was over, they froze our membership in the school year due to all the sports he was doing and the fact we live 30 minutes away. I just really appreciated that. The workout is intense but accessible to everyone. You do as much and go as hard as you can.

Total Fitness Kickboxing is an amazing group workout organization. As a previous division 1 athlete who injured themselves their senior year in college, I was very limited in what I was able to do to keep my body moving. Finally I found TFK and everything changed. I got my drive and motivation back and began to truly enjoy working out again. Working out here is always a blast from the music to the actual workout itself. The team here is awesome and each and every instructor is always amazing. This was one of the few organizations that had later evening and weekend classes. I highly recommend total fitness kickboxing no matter what level of athleticism you’re at!!! Anyone can do it!

I was blown away with my experience at Total Fitness Kickboxing. I went in after seeing a free class offer on social media. The first class was excellent! I signed up for my membership right after class. The membership was affordable and the class times worked perfectly for my schedule.
I love that the membership offers a couple different levels based on how often you go. I’ve been going 2-3 times a week and feel a difference already. The instructors are all super friendly and supportive and the gloves and wraps were included in the membership so I was ready to start asap. I can’t wait see the affects of going regularly!

I love this place! I have been going for a month so far and loved the workouts from day one. The workouts are always different, intense, and fun. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you understand what you are doing. One thing that was told to me on day 1 was “ you only critique is going to be yourself. There is no one here that is going to judge you”. This has been the truth from the start. Everyone that attends the classes are encouraging as well.

If you are looking to but up to 1100 calories in 1 45 min work out, you should definitely check our Total Fitness Kickboxing. Your life will never be the same.

I LOVE this gym. I usually get pretty anxious before going to any kind of gym / exercise class, and when a friend invited me to this one - I was definitely nervous (even though I have wanted to try kick boxing for the longest time!). But the first class is free, so I wanted to at least try it, and not say no before even checking it out. And I am SO glad I did. The classes are challenging (in the best way), empowering, and you leave feeling so accomplished. When you come in, you instantly feel like you’re a part of a community; whereas when I went to other places, I often felt watched or judged. Here, everyone wants you to succeed. It’s just such an incredible environment! I now look forward to going (and literally can’t seem to stop inviting people, haha) and see it as my gift to myself each day - a way to do some self care and invest in myself! Plus, the prices are SO affordable, you’re not having to pay an arm and a leg to get a hard AND fun full body workout. 10/10 recommend!

So far I absolutely love this place! From the moment I began communicating with Skyla about my free class she has been nothing but kind and accommodating! And then coming in for my first class through my first week it has only gotten better and better. The workout is challenging, fun, and I can already see that it is going to be effective for me. TFK South has worked hard during the Covid outbreak. They keep the classes going safely, and updated the members regularly on FB and other sources. They have been social distancing and keeping it clean! There are children present! The work outs are great, the instructors are very skilled and knowledgeable. I enjoy all of them. This is such a friendly, welcoming space! I do barre workout classes in addition to kickboxing, but the excitement and good energy of this studio is so much better than other gyms I've been to. There's also all shapes and sizes of kickboxers (students and coaches) here, which I appreciate as I don't have an athletic build, but I don't feel out of place because of it. My husband wanted me to take a self defense class and I'm so glad I did! Josh who was my personal trainer did a great job! My family started to see the positive changes the classes were doing in me. My self confidence, my posture, feeling energized and being less stressed. I went from hating to run, to now my body craves it! Their kickboxing classes are also a great way to burn calories with amazing teachers like Skyla and Amanda. You will break a sweat lol. My only regret is not doing this sooner!

Took my first class here today. Haven’t taken a kickboxing class in several years. The team was friendly and helpful from the second I walked in the door. They helped me to get set up with my gloves and gave me tips throughout class to make sure I was hitting the bag properly. Was a super fun workout with a really positive atmosphere. Great workout, great coaches and fun too! The 45 minute workouts fly by and are super effective. With my crazy travel schedule the flexibility to get to class when it's convenient to me is also a huge plus! I love that I don't have to plan my workout schedule a week in advance. I can't overstate how much I love this gym. The coaches (Garrett today, Josh, James, Billy, etc.) and staff (Casey) are all wonderful. They are patient, encouraging and inclusive. I'm a middle-aged woman and have never felt out of place. I love the variety each coach provides and the classes just fly by. I look forward to them and I'm honestly in the best shape of my life. I started not quite a year ago after I had been in a car accident and I was feeling fragile and weak. Now, I feel strong and like a bada**! It's my exercise and my therapy. If you have ever had any interest in kick boxing, please give this gym a try. I'll bet you won't be sorry!

The trainer, Garrett, was great. The business aspect, was horrendous! I signed up for the free week, and thought, "wow this is great, I love it", so I decided to sign up for the membership. I took the class on the 2nd Sept, and they said they wouldn't bill me until after the 16th. I thought, "oh great, I can try out for a week, try out different trainers, get the feel of it," and see if this is what I really want. WRONG!!!! In less than 24 hrs, I had a pending charge on my account for $30 (which mind you they said it was "supposed to be $15 on the 16th). It's a Total scam.
Yes, this is all very unfortunate, but the worst of it is that I enjoyed the class and wished that things could have gone differently.

I wrote this review way before I got a response from them, and let me tell you. I was treated most unkind. I am so glad that I am canceling this membership. I will not speak ill of anyone, because that is not in my nature, but on a scale of 1 to 10. I'd rate my experience as 2.5. One being the worse customer support, think a this was a step above speaking to the people over at the DMV or for Jury Duty.

Great workout! You start out with a warm out and follow by some rounds with the bag. In between you get some core workout too. coach james is awesome! Super patient and pushes you throughout. He comes around and does one on and on with every single person through out the whole class to make sure your technique is right and that you are understanding the combinations. They push for good family atmosphere... definitely recommend them.

TFK is a decent kickboxing gym if you’re a beginner. They focus on you getting a good fully body workout. By the end of each workout, I’m usually sweating profusely and feel the burn. Instructors - Billy (owner) and Adam are friendly and fun. Sometimes the gym gets crowded because it’s comparatively cheaper than other places. And you’re always punching a bag instead of practicing with a partner. You get what you pay for.

Love this place, the coaches are so friendly and positive all the time and even if you are not a member they always make you feel like you belong there. They have 5+ classes throughout the day and 6 different coaches so you can find the right class that suits you and keep taking it.
Overall, I totally recommend Total Fitness Kickboxing because it is a really fun class to take to get better at the sport, lose weight or to just stay in shape, and it’s all for a great price

I have never been one to willingly go to the gym, that is... Until I found this gym. Kickboxing has always been the one sport I've actually been drawn to, but most boxing gyms charge an arm and a leg just to sign up. This gym is price BEYOND reasonably considering all you get. You are offered a wide range of class times thought out the week, each taught by one of six different coaches. Over tome you'll find a coach that works best for you and your goals, and things just fall into place! It's full of super supportive individuals who are as passionate and excited about kickboxing and getting into shape as you are. TFK also gives you access to a nutritionist who is available for any questions you might have!
This is a super welcoming and motivating gym (especially for how reasonable the price is), and I would highly recommend it to anyone considering trying kickboxing!

Billy and the other trainers helped teach my 8th grade basketball team the fundamentals of kickboxing and how to be more aggressive on and off the court. He kept the studio open late for us, helped coordinate with parents when I was not available, and provided the most positive atmosphere for my girls! Addicted! I joined this gym after my first free class for a couple of reasons; I couldn’t believe how fast the class went by, how FUN it was, how many calories I burned in 45 min AND THEY HAVE A NUTRITIONIST (shout out to Natalina!)!! All for half the price of what I was paying for a regular gym membership too! I hate doing cardio, and this is a perfect way to get it in and such a stress reliever after work.
I joined in August and I really notice a difference in my physic and my fitness level. The coaches are all amazing, friendly and really push you to challenge yourself. I highly recommend TFK if you’re looking for a fun (quick) and intense work out!

Oh- and Saturday’s hour long Incinerator class with coach Casey is a fantastic way to keep your weekend in track!!

Great workouts, BUT the gym is not managed well. I work from home and manage to carve out the morning to come here and work out at the 8:45 am class. MULTIPLE times coaches have been late or didn't show up at all to teach this time slot. No notice, nothing! I'm sure I'm not the only one who has a tight schedule, and when this happens it derails my morning. Like to day, for example, no coach, and I have a 10 am call, so no workout for me today. Thanks TFK :) . Please get your scheduling/staffing together.

I can't say enough good things about TFK. I look forward to the days I can go and I leave feeling worked AND strong. As an adult, and especially after having kids, I have always had a hard time sticking to a workout routine, but those days are gone. All of the coaches are great, with their own unique way of training, so you get a well balanced knowledge of kickboxing. I can't remember the last time I felt so strong, confident, and proud to be in this body! I had ZERO knowledge of kickboxing when I first went in, but the coaches and staff are welcoming and encouraging and help you feel right at home. I highly recommend TFK!

I haven't had a gym membership since 2013, mainly because I didn't like how there was way too many people on a machine 😂 or I felt like I was being judged. When I moved to Austin, I found TFK right around the corner and after one class, I was hooked! I've been going since Dec 15, 2018 with 3-4 classes a week.

Things I love:
- Multiple coaches so different types of classes each time
- Body Analysis next door that tracks body fat, muscles, weight, etc.

- Nutrition Coach who makes amazing energy balls
- Energy, passion and/or intensity
- Have not thrown up yet
- Unlimited classes 💪
- The amount of food I can eat before and after a workout

- Technique Tuesdays and Thursdays
- Sunday hikes or outgoing fun plans
- The cake is not a lie.

Things I hate:
- Cross knee high jumps skips (I don't get it. 😂)

Advice:
For those that bruise easily, bring shin guards ... Or show your "potato, egg and cheese kolache size" bruises with proudness.

I just finished another awesome class with Coach Josh Balok and wanted to give a shout out to both him and Coach Casey, two amazing trainers that make working out so much fun! They give it their all to motivate, challenge, encourage, and refine, making you feel stronger and more confident in yourself and accomplish more than you ever thought you could in a workout. Total Fitness Kickboxing has everything I was looking for in a gym. We practice striking combinations (a wide variety of punching and kicking techniques) on a heavy bag as well engage in lots of overall body conditioning in a high energy environment. Sweating profusely and burning tons of calories is inevitable! Every class is different so there’s never a boring, repetitive workout. And the price is unbeatable. I encourage anyone who’s looking for a great place to exercise, relieve some stress, and make some new friends who share the same goals to come try it out and become part of the TFK family!

I joined TFK -South Austin in October 2018. One class was all it took. The coaches and nutritionist have changed everything for me. 6 months later and I am down 35 lbs and feel more energized than ever. This is the only workout I have ever been able to stick to. Gyms always make me feel nervous, like people are waiting to watch me use the equipment wrong or judge me for panting on the elliptical. At TFK, I don’t have to worry about other people, its just me and the bag. The workout is all mine and I get to push myself past my own personal challenges a little bit more every class.
I traveled for work for 4 of those 6 months– would fly out Monday morning and back every Thursday night. I still managed to get myself to a class every Friday evening and Saturday morning. It almost became the number one thing I looked forward to about coming home – my bed beat it by a hair.
The classes are energetic and different every time. The coaches are incredibly supportive and will help in any way they can. I always leave feeling on top of the world. I am so thankful I found this gym. They really are a new family. Total Fitness Kickboxing <3

I’m so happy I joined Total Fitness Kickboxing! I’ve gotten an incredible, calorie-torching workout every single time! The coaches are the best of the best – highly skilled, friendly, and encouraging. I never thought I’d be the type of person who enjoys exercise. Total Fitness Kickboxing completely changed my mind! After being overweight for the past 12 years, reality hit me in August 2018 and I knew I needed to get serious about my health. Over those 12 years, I’ve probably tried every gym in Austin and would quit after a few months. I didn’t feel engaged. I wasn’t getting better. I didn’t have the drive. I decided to try something new, so I looked up kickboxing. The combination of cardio and strength really intrigued me. Plus the added benefit of learning to defend yourself. I saw Total Fitness Kickboxing on Facebook and went to check it out. I was addicted to kickboxing after ONE class. The classes contain people of ALL fitness levels. The coaches Josh Balok, Casey Gangwer and Billy Malady are attentive, encouraging and give you that push you need! The punch and kick combos make you feel strong and powerful. After each class, I could feel my body getting stronger and tougher. I also got nutrition counseling from the onsite nutritionist Natalina Romano which was so helpful! I am a full-time working Mom and I love the wide variety of evening classes they have. I have incorporated Total Fitness Kickboxing into being a regular part of my life. As a result, I’ve lost 45 pounds since August. I feel like a different person. I’m healthy. I love exercise. I’m thankful every day for the coaches and friends I’ve gained through Total Fitness Kickboxing! #wearefamily

Great gym. Best prices and great trainers. They really care and put a lot of effort into making sure everyone is getting the techniques down with the right form. I got bruised up a bit after my first two classes but after just 1 technique class and talking to the coaches its not a problem anymore. I looked into a few other gyms before this one and after my first free class I signed up immediately. They really make it fun and the class flys by! Your gains all depend on how much effort you put into it and these guys know how to make it a great experience.
