I hesitate to give five stars only because they could be so much better. I like this gym but really they need more room and some decent amenities. And probably a cleaning staff that actually cleans. The bars on the smith machine are always so nasty.

Good facility; nice staff and owner. CrossFit programming is inconsistent and lacks the community of others that I’ve been to. During the school year, it’s over- crowded with fraternity and ex-fraternity bros. The staff works hard at keeping the floor and the machines clean. The worst part is the men’s locker room. It is constantly filthy, and often lacks supplies.

Update 6.15.25. After two years of working out there, I can find no effort to improve. The 4:30 (and sometimes 5:30) CrossFit class is dangerously crowded during the school year for one coach (sometimes approaching 25 people). Only one of the CrossFit coaches is truly excellent. The men’s locker room is still filthy. Remember your water bottle, because if you forget it, the fountains don’t work. At a gym. Parking is terrible. The front entrance needs changing. Add a sauna? Take out some of the little-used machines so it’s less crowded? Add a mobility class? (one of your PTs is really into mobility)? How about lockers that don’t require your own lock? Make an effort guys. The management seems too willing to coast on a facility that is adequate rather than having a plan about how to make it excellent.

For example, there a beer kegs in the back of the gym that have been there for two years. Little-used equipment in the back room littering the floor. Weight plates consistently in the wrong place. And if you’re in the CrossFit class, don’t forget your jump rope. The ones they have are laughable.

Solid Gym with Room for Improvement
I recently checked out Train Waco and came away with a generally positive impression. The space itself is fantastic – open, airy, and well-maintained. The atmosphere was also a big plus, with a good energy that kept me motivated.
The sheer volume of equipment is impressive. There's a massive selection of machines, catering to just about every muscle group, and a very respectable collection of free weights. I never felt like I was lacking for options.
However, there are a couple of things that could elevate this gym from good to great. My main gripe was the distribution of free weight stands. While there were plenty of free weights, they seemed concentrated in a few areas, forcing me to trek across the gym for certain exercises. A more even distribution of stands would significantly improve the flow and convenience.
Additionally, a few more Smith machines would be a welcome addition. They were consistently occupied, and having a couple more would alleviate wait times. Similarly, some of the more popular machines were always in use. Investing in a few duplicates of those high-demand pieces would make a big difference, especially during peak hours.
Overall, Train Waco is a solid gym with a great space and atmosphere. The equipment selection is extensive, and I enjoyed my workout. With a few tweaks to the layout and equipment availability, it could easily become a top-tier fitness destination.

During the non winter months is a solid 5 stars. During the cold months I’d give it a 1 star. I’m literally freezing during all phases of my workout. I’ve asked multiple time to at least turn down the GIANT fans. They never do. Regardless of how much I warm up I cannot get my body temperature up. I’ve had to completely change my program to keep myself warm. My joints hurt. My nose is sniffling. And not a single other person is even sweating. It is beyond cold.

Great gym with great staff. CrossFit , Olympic weightlifting, free weights and personal coaching . Coaches are all over the gym throughout the day and night available for questions or help. They are approachable ,friendly and knowledgeable even if you aren’t a client . I have gotten great results with their recommendations which has helped me grow in my fitness journey . The best (serious) weightlifting/CrossFit gym in Waco. The owners do a great job of staying current with the college students and serving their needs. Safe environment...usually Baylor student heavy and good amount of other Wacoans. Every worker also works out at the gym and are very nice. Every trainer is very qualified and always training someone in the gym. Definitely has the old school Golden Era Gym feel to it.

I love this gym. It is easily the best bang for your buck, and I always see the staff and trainers there interacting with clients. The equipment is varied and awesome. The treadmills could use an upgrade, they tend to "skip" when I use some of them, so I stick to the ellypticals. The only real complaint I have is the music choice, which is predominantly mainstream rap. The beats tend to be the same — 1,2 and 3 and 4 — with negative lyrics. More electronic, rock, or even raggaeton would be perfect! (P.S.: There are rap songs and playlists with uplifting lyrics out there too.)

When I lived in Waco almost 2 years ago I went to this Gym and it was amazing. That's the end of it .

I put in a cancelation form, and also talked to the front desk before leaving waco because I moved out of town. Didn't pay any mind to it.
Come to find out that my card has been getting charged for almost a year and 3 months.
I called because I got an email saying I owe a certain amount. And they told me they couldn't find the cancelation form! So I just canceled today.... looks like the past 1.5 years I have been giving charity to train waco from the goodness of their hearts. Not mine.

Testosterone galore! Man's-man gym for weight and strength training for serious lifters. They have every machine imaginable and free weights are great variety. The cardio equipment is a bit dated and could use an upgrade. Music is loud and thumping to get really pumped up during lifting. The staff is always friendly and nice. Ratio of men to women is around 10 to 1 so not a real good place to find a date or girlfriend.

The best gym in town, with tons of machines, so even during busy times of the day your workout plan won't be ruined. It features an attached smoothie and supplement shop as well which is perfect. I've also never seen a cleaner gym. They regularly update the padding on their machines too. The bathrooms could benefit from some updates specifically in terms of showers and lockers, and a treadmill or two has been known to just stop on me during a walk/run, but apart from that, it's perfection.

I’ve been to a lot of gyms and Train Waco is by far my favorite. The staff is helpful, always willing to give you a spot, and seem to genuinely care about the patrons. There are lots of unique machines I haven’t seen anywhere else, they have everything you could possibly want. Train Waco isn’t my gym, it’s my home.
