Rating is for atrocious cancellation policy. It COSTS you to CANCEL! Trufit is a gym stereotype "they make it difficult to cancel"

It's the only major gym with multiple sites in town, and the gyms and instructors are so nice! If it weren't for this policy I think I would give the gym 5 stars for the effort of the employees I've seen and cleanliness of the gym.

However, it's so sad to me that this policy is predatory to me which makes me think there's more under the hood/behind the scenes that I'm not aware of that must not be good with the mentality of the company I'm seeing from this policy.

It intentionally is lazy on the corporate side to push more cost on the memebrs (someone had to make a decision to say yes to this policy and no to a simpler, considerate cancellation policy for their members)

And it preys on people's busy lives requiring a side quest to cancel!

For what genuinely good reason can't you cancel in the gym like so many other 21st centruy gyms? You, Trufit, do the paperwork in office and pay to send the written cancellation by certified mail to yourselves! It's a stinking business write-off! Putting it on the members when they already pay for you, not right in my book, here's the cancellation policies for anyone who needs it.

Trufit Corporate: Please seriously consider changing this policy to let members cancel at least in person in the gym if not also online and file the paperwork digitally and print it out at your office if you want paper. There are 21st century solutions to whatever filing system you want, simple problem solving and consideration for members' time and money I believe would go a long way. Thank you 🌺

Some of the staff is pretty stellar. However, not sure who is in charge of deciding repairs/cleanliness but it is by far the most unkempt gym I’ve experienced. Half of the soap and hand sanitizer dispensers will be empty for months, some equipment is broken or missing parts, and the basketball court will have ripped nets for weeks. Unfortunately, the worst part is the locker rooms as they are usually as clean and functioning as some convenience store restrooms as utilities will be out of order and half of the locker doors will be missing hinges or completely broken. It is very convenient and can be cheap so if that is a selling point for you and you are not afraid of the cleanliness, then this gym should do.

BEWARE!!! Do not give this business your bank account for automatic payment. They will forever charge you until your account expires and then want you to pay a late fee for non payment. That's me, and I have not lived in the state of TX for almost 2 years now. I've spoken to several managers since I left the state , gone to the gym personally, spoke over the phone several times, emailed several email addresses given to me by their people, called the 1 800 number, and other numbers I was referred to with no resolution. And I've been getting charged for Personal Training every month which i never signed up for. The PT finally was resolved and refunded partially, thanks to Natalie one of the managers who helped me. But, the membership payments every month continues on to this day(way over a year, almost 2 years) and now I got a message to update my account which I'm not going to do and they're charging me for a late fee! Unbelievable!!! No one can cancel this account for some reason. Just now hoping that this late fee they want me to pay for because they can no longer charge my account automatically, doesn't get sent to a collections agency.
Don't let this happen to you.

If you sign up here better plan on going to Regis gym forever moved from the area and went to cancel my membership , found out two months later they were still charging me . Drove all the way back to Bryan and they said it couldn’t be canceled in person had to be over the phone . Called and talked to 4 different staff members one of who stated that TruFit doesn’t have Human Resources and that they couldn’t cancel over the phone . Talked to a district manager after a long loop of phone transfers . She stated she would have my account cancelled and that was the end of that. Fast forward a few months later they began to charge me again the withdraw from my bank had a different name . Also the water fountains did not work often when they did the water was hot and the bathrooms were always gross. Even at 4 am … go to Golds Gym in college station it’s worth the drive they’re awesome , TruFit not awesome .

Im only rating this a one star because it takes at least 2 months for them to repair a net that cost 20$ and it seems that they only care about one side of the basketball court operating. When mentioned to staff to get it repaired they say there’s nothing they can do, but when offered a solution like buying one for them and taking care of it they still refuse. Can’t even host games to play here because we are limited to half court.

Lazy employees and poor management. Restrooms are disgusting, never stocked with soap and the floors feel like someone has dropped a bucket of oil. Only one men’s stall available the other has been broken for weeks at least. There is brown substance on the stall walls for the third day in a row there ive noticed it. They dont even appear to clean the restrooms just restock the toilet paper. Disgusting and lazy. Sell this place if you cant run it effectively.

This location overcharged us $180 by continuing to draw weekly membership fees unauthorized from our bank account in March and April after we canceled our membership. We are now in July and they have refused to refund us, insisting that "their computers won't allow them to", or saying that they have already done so. Every time I call to try to resolve this, the operations manager Brittany is "in a meeting" and never returns my calls. Be careful giving these people your banking information.

I joined a week ago and made a big mistake of giving this gym 5 stars because they asked me to. I signed up for the $10 a month membership, which I mentioned to the young lady who signed me up, 3 times to make sure she signed me up correctly. She was friendly and told me this was her first time enrolling a new member. To make sure she was doing it correctly she called someone on the phone to help her with the process. After she finished I asked for a copy of my enrollment and she informed me that it would be sent to my email. When I checked my email later I was enrolled in the $27 a month membership. I went back the next day to speak with the manager Andre, who was apologetic and professional about the situation. He informed me that I would receive a call the next day and it would be taken care of. After receiving no call. I stopped by the next day and he informed me that his supervisor Rosie said she couldn’t correct the mistake, which her coworker made and that I would have to wait 90 days before they could change my membership. There should no reason why she wouldn’t be able to correct the mistake. This is not how you treat a new member, correction ex member. I cancelled my membership that same day.

My squad and I visited College Station this past weekend and needed somewhere to hoop the first day there. I have a TruFit near where I live and I have never been, so I wanted to see what it’s about.
The staff was very friendly, helpful, and they quickly got us signed up through the 1¢ membership deal so we could spend more time on the court than in the lobby. A great location and a great atmosphere. When we come back, we’ll be back here for sure.

The variety of equipment at this location is great. Would be cool if they added a hip thrust machine like the one in college station though.
I like the simplicity of the displays on the cardio machines here more than the ones they have at college station.
Only thing that sucks is when you come across a machine that has a button that doesn't work, so you have to reach all the way to the display to change something.

I’ve been at TruFit for about a month now, and I’m really happy I joined. The gym has a great layout with something for everyone—from a large turf area with ropes, tires, and boxes for jumps, to rooms for group classes, a women-only workout space, and even a sauna. It’s clean, well-organized, and easy to feel motivated in.

What stands out most, though, is the staff. The team goes above and beyond to make sure members feel supported in their fitness journey.

If you’re looking for a gym with a positive atmosphere and a solid variety of equipment and training options, I definitely recommend TruFit.

All in all a good experience for a good value.
No gym is going to be perfect especially at today prices. However for this location I have noticed when a piece of equipment is broken it does get repaired in a reasonable time frame. Locker rooms are clean most of the time and not disgusting.

I give it a 5 star review because I’m not going to a different gym. This gym hits all the things I need. Location, equipment, value.
