Rating is for atrocious cancellation policy. It COSTS you to CANCEL! Trufit is a gym stereotype "they make it difficult to cancel"

It's the only major gym with multiple sites in town, and the gyms and instructors are so nice! If it weren't for this policy I think I would give the gym 5 stars for the effort of the employees I've seen and cleanliness of the gym.

However, it's so sad to me that this policy is predatory to me which makes me think there's more under the hood/behind the scenes that I'm not aware of that must not be good with the mentality of the company I'm seeing from this policy.

It intentionally is lazy on the corporate side to push more cost on the memebrs (someone had to make a decision to say yes to this policy and no to a simpler, considerate cancellation policy for their members)

And it preys on people's busy lives requiring a side quest to cancel!

For what genuinely good reason can't you cancel in the gym like so many other 21st centruy gyms? You, Trufit, do the paperwork in office and pay to send the written cancellation by certified mail to yourselves! It's a stinking business write-off! Putting it on the members when they already pay for you, not right in my book, here's the cancellation policies for anyone who needs it.

Trufit Corporate: Please seriously consider changing this policy to let members cancel at least in person in the gym if not also online and file the paperwork digitally and print it out at your office if you want paper. There are 21st century solutions to whatever filing system you want, simple problem solving and consideration for members' time and money I believe would go a long way. Thank you 🌺

I joined TrueFit specifically for access to the indoor pool. Before signing up, I called and asked directly if the pool was open and what the hours were. I was told it was open, with only a 1–2 PM daily cleaning break. Based on that information, I signed up for the highest-tier membership.

Five days later, I arrived to swim and was met with a sign on the door that said the pool was closed indefinitely. There was no prior notice, no email, and no explanation. When I asked about it, I was told that I could cancel my membership if I wanted to, but I had to show up in person...AGAIN same day to cancel it with no charges. Staff could not give any timeline for reopening.

The issue isn’t the pool needing repair — that happens. The issue is the lack of transparency and poor communication. If a key amenity is going to be unavailable indefinitely, it should be disclosed before someone signs up, especially when that amenity is a main reason people choose this gym.

This experience came across as a bait-and-switch. I’m disappointed and cancelling my membership.

Gym is quiet, doesn’t get super crowded and all machines are in good condition. Front desk staff is very attentive and helpful. Only complaint are the hours of operation. Wish they stayed open later but can’t complain too much especially since they are now starting to open on Saturdays! Other than that, great gym!

Would love to give them a good rating because there are some good people working there, but they are not responsive to customer issues-so far

Here is an update, months later, they have made no meaningful effort to resolve my issue, club is nice enough, most employees are personable, stick with basic membership and you will probly have a good experience.

Solid gym for 15$ a month on the smaller size and only open on weekends days. It has 2 flat bench presses, free weights, 2 squat racks, and most weight machines one could ask for. Plenty of treadmills and ellipticals.

This location is such a hidden gem! We have been members at every single gym in the BCS area and if you like a quieter less crowded gym with the essentials this location is for you! It’s definitely smaller than every other TruFit but that’s why I like it.

Sometimes there’s a need/want for the motivation of a crowd at a larger gym but this location is a wonderful break from all of that. It’s so calming with all the essentials and some unique versions of the basic machines to get you in and out and accomplishing your goals! Plus there’s a pool and the staff is so friendly!!!

TrueFit's membership cancellation policy is the worst. You are required to give 30 days' notice before canceling. I sent an email requesting to cancel my account, but they continue to withdraw money. Even when I spoke to the manager, they said they don't handle the payments, so they can't help. They say this even though I showed them the withdrawals from my bank account. This is a total scam organization.

Decent gym that is conveniently located to us. The staff is friendly and the gym is overall pretty cleanly. The main complaint is that the only cable machine and a few other machines have been broken since I’ve joined (almost a year now). If all their equipment was up and running, I’d give it 5 stars.

Update: Thank you to the owner for replying promptly. I hope the equipment issues are fixed soon.

Update 9/3: Still no progress on having the broken equipment fixed and more machines are down since making the original post a few months back. I don’t foresee them being fixed in the near future, and we will be moving all 3 of our memberships.

You have workers who are willing and want to work the weekends. An employee expressed this to me. You got a ton of reasons it’d be great to open on the weekends. I hope at some point the weekend can be open and you can actually justify charging people premium membership. For 5 days a week.

This place can’t be serious. They charge full price yet their hours are shorter AND they’re closed on the weekend!
FULL price memberships despite being CLOSE for nearly 1/3 of the month! I can’t justify the membership price when eight days of the month (over a WEEK) they’re closed. What kind of gym is closed over the weekend? One that lost my business. They get an one star for cleanliness. And one star for the very nice and understanding worker who heard me out. Negative star for the guy that blew me off. Apparently my concerns aren’t worth hearing.
It looks nice but being closed the two days I can get the most done is a deal breaker. They seem to target retired folk. More power to them, but I guarantee the location would see more business if they were open on the weekend. No wonder the place had almost no one around.

About 1/4 of all machines are broken, some of which have been broken for over a year, and management has no intention of ever fixing them. Not acceptable when most machines have no backup (very small gym). Men's locker room is typically 80+ degrees and at 100% humidity since the pool connects to the locker room. Not acceptable in Texas. Only reason this isn't one star is because the main janitorial guy is thorough and keeps the place very clean.

The gym is in disrepair. There's not a defense for this, it's not kept, machines are broken and it's obvious no one cares or has the ability to fix broken machines. As of writing this the cable machine, latpull down, pull-ups/press-ups machine and various treadmills amd carido machines are down. If your a gym goer who appreciates a good gym, this isn't the one for you
