I’ve been a member of True Fit for a while now, and today I visited this location with a friend. After checking in, a staff member named Annalisa informed me that I was not allowed to bring a guest. According to my membership policy, guest privileges are included, and I pay for that benefit.

She went on to say that guests are only allowed on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays—which is not what my policy states. On top of that, she was extremely rude and confrontational in how she delivered the message. The interaction was so uncomfortable that I ended up leaving.

I’m genuinely disappointed with how the situation was handled.

I rejoined TRUFIT a few days ago. EVERYONE at the WALZEM location was 5 star from the street to the seat. The front desk personnel was kind and helpful. The young lady who signed me up (Mariah) was as I describe myself....an alkaseltzer in a glass of champagne 🍾. She is absolutely precious. She explained everything clearly and concisely. Nothing was hidden. All my questions were answered. The real star 🌟 of the show for me is JADA. She is a God sent. She changed my life. She handled me with such love and kindness and compassion. My roommate and I signed up for PT and a regular membership in May of 2025. We had a contract for 6 months for the PT set to end in November. We can in December of 2025 to cancel the PT, once the contract was complete, as well as our membership. We continued to get charged for PT for almost 2 months after signing the cancellation paperwork, even after attempting to call multiple times. During this time we were still being charged the monthly membership as well, even after speaking to the manger. We went in person again April 21st where we spoke to the manager who brought it up to the higher ups and we’re supposed to stop being charged the membership and given a refund for the months we were charged after cancellation. My roommate called again last Sunday to speak to the manager but unfortunately they were not in. It’s insane to me that we have been trying to cancel since DECEMBER and are still continuing to be charged after reaching out multiple times.

Ive been going to this gym for about 6 months now, my experience has been really good. I also tried their personal trainer program for about 3 months, and it really helped alot to learn how to properly train for my personal body goals. If I could give this gym a negative rating I would. For three reasons: inadequate childcare, unwanted pitches for personal training, and broken/worn down equipment. I chose this gym because they had childcare available for my two kids (4 and 2 years old). We went 2-3 times a week for a couple of weeks. And my kids HATED it. They screamed everytime we pulled into the parking lot. They never do that, and I have put them in child care at the Y before. They only had 2 providers even with a tons of kids in the room. And neither provider spoke English. So it was difficult trying to figure out why my kids were not having a good time. They couldn’t talk to me and they couldn’t talk to my children. So that was the main reason I chose to cancel the membership.
The second reason was that when I signed up they told me I had access to the body fat machine. Which I didn’t care too much about I was just curious. So I went to use it and they said I needed to have an appt to be taught how to use it properly. I thought it would take like 15 minutes but they spent almost an hour asking me about my goals. I told them I wanted to get strong and live a healthy life for my kids. But that’s not what they wanted. They wanted a weight goal from me. I’m 5’4” and 130 lbs after having two kids from c sections, which is average so I wasn’t concerned . I’m also a Nutritionist and my husband is an exercise science major so I didn’t need/want a personal trainer, I just wanted to use the machine. Once we actually got to the machine he did it for me and didn’t “teach me” anything. He wanted to go over the results but I had to go to one of their classes that I signed up for. He told me to see him after I was done. My workout finished in 30 minutes, and my kids had 15 minutes in child care. He was with someone else so I had to wait until the manager said he could help me. I told him that my kids needed to be picked up but he said they could watch them a little longer. He went over the same goal questions as the other guy. But when I didn’t give him a weight loss goal. He told me that all my fat percentiles were in normal range but close to threshold which wasn’t “good”. He recommended a couple packages and I told him that I would have to talk to my husband about it. Which he questioned me about. Finally I got him to stop when I told I would come in the following day. While we were talking I got several calls from the childcare about my kids because I was 30 minutes over but I couldn’t explain the situation because she only spoke Spanish. She finally hunted me down and the manager told her it was okay but she looked very angry. After I left I felt terrible about myself, I have tried so hard to focus on strength training and eating healthy and I have come so far since I had my children. And if I hadn’t gotten my bachelors in nutrition I’m pretty sure his comments would have sent me down the road to an eating disorder. These people are worse than cars salesman, they use your own insecurities against you and won’t take no for an answer.
The final reason that I quit was that a lot of their equipment was broken and/or worn down. When I tried to cancel it was a terrible experience. I called and they told me I had to talk to a manager, so I had to bring my kids in again and when I went to the front desk they told me all I had to do was send an email with the cancellation number they gave me. And then after I emailed them they said they needed to charge me about $59 for an enhancement fee and that I could still come in for the rest of the month. But I COULDNT because my kids hated the childcare. So I was pretty pissed that they charged me. I would NOT recommend this place to anybody especially women with children. You’re better off going to any other gym.
