Super long but worth the read if you’re considering TRA.

This gym was truly a nightmare experience for our family. From coaches making inappropriate comments about my child’s body, to parents and coaches spreading rumors about us, the environment was straight up toxic. They claimed to “believe in my child,” but in reality it felt like they only cared about taking our money.

My 5 year old was left crushed and devastated by them removing her off her very first full season of cheer. This was MONTHS after tryouts and two weekly “team practices” totaling up to four hours a week where they should have then and there decided that upgrading all teams to elite was too much for a 5 year old. The team was announced to be elite after contracts were signed on a band video. Was never aware of this change, but was told “you should have known we were all elite teams this year”. They waited until choreography camp at the end of July, nearly $2,000 spent, just to dismiss her.

They got her all excited and amped up to do competitions, have a sparkly costume, and so much more. This is the kind of loss a young child really should never face. Terrible on their part.

The owner does not try to understand where parents are coming from and instead says things like “I was bullied and I turned out fine” literally said that when I decided to pull my daughter out of classes to protect her. Bulling is an issue at this gym and it is cliquey and quite frankly out of control. When one person decides they don’t like you, they all turn on you. All they want is for their kid to be the best and the last one standing. They will stomp on you to get there.

Any time I voiced concerns, they were dismissed. Instead of addressing issues professionally, COACHES resorted to gossip and speaking poorly about me behind my back. I will never forget them coming up to tell me they were making fun of my kids body. Like what?! She’s 5! Some of the stuff I’ve had relayed back to me about what was said about me has literally had me in such disbelief.

The lack of care, respect, and professionalism was extremely disappointing. My daughter had gone there since she was 18 months old. We felt a connection with this gym, so leaving was not easy, but very much so needed.

It all felt like a giant slap in the face. Especially being told that we should leave on good terms. Yeah, realistically I wouldn’t want to leave on bad terms, but the mom running her mouth out there, the rude text from coaches, the radio silence of others, and the owner not returning my money like he said he would or sticking to his words with the practice wear was the nail in the coffin.

If you value your child’s confidence, well-being, and a supportive environment, I would strongly caution against this gym! This gym has an ongoing trend of lying to get what they want and putting down athletes. The turnover rate is actually crazy and there are way better gyms in the area to invest in. Driving the extra 20-30 min is worth not dealing with this place.

This is an awful gym point blank. There’s no looking past what they have done to us at this point. All I can do is warn others.

This situation has not been discussed since. I texted and was actually ignored. You can call me if you want to discuss further.

There were no team goals communicated, expectations, or the developmental process. It was you chose to upgrade a team after signing contracts to save money at the expense of my child. If she wasn’t ready, you guys should have never accepted her onto the team.

I don’t think kindness is making fun of a kid’s body or allowing the bullying to happen? The routine was expected to be learned in 3 days and I was told she was hidden in the back which was confirmed by the gym owner on a team we joined under false pretense.

There is no positive environment. I mean having team members parents from Glory write 5 star reviews to drown one negative one? Sad and proving my point.

Tyler Rose Athletics has been an AMAZING gym for my daughter! She came from a gym previously, where she had been there for 4 years, and still hadn’t got her back walkover. After just 5 months of being with TRA she has got her back bend and is now doing her back walkover. TRA and the coaches have done nothing but build her confidence and enforce her to see her worth in this sport! When we first moved back my daughter was not sure if she wanted to continue in her cheer career, this gym has brought that fire out in her again and i have Never seen her practice like she does now. The parents, athletes in the program and the coaches and staff have went out of their way constantly to make my daughter and my family feel welcomed, loved, and appreciated! The communication from this gym is amazing and everything is always upfront with parents! Thankful and grateful for this Gym and the amazing TRA family as i have Come to see it as!!! 100/10 will recommend to anyone looking for a new gym!

Going into our 5th cheer season, we moved back home to Texas from Iowa. This is our first season with TRA and man let me tell you, we have been welcomed with open arms by every single person. The coaches are so amazing working with the athletes at every age as well as stage in their journey. My granddaughter wanted to drop out of cheer and this gym has truly brought back her love of the sport. Everyone is so encouraging. The coaches, the teammates and the parents! I really Love how everyone supports everyone here. I feel truly blessed to be apart of the best gym. I am So thankful for you guys!

We have been at TRA since Feb 2024 and this gym is my daughter's favorite place to be! We love the staff and coaches and the hard work that they pour into these athletes. No matter your skill level, there is a class for everyone! My daughter spends 15+ hours here a week and she would do more if I let her! She absolutely loves the atmosphere and the other girls in her classes and on her team. The older athletes are kind and encouraging to the younger athletes and everyone works hard to create a positive and uplifting environment!
There is no favoritism here. Its important that your athlete shows up with a good attitude, ready to learn, and works hard! Nothing has ever been "given" or "handed to" my daughter. She has put in blood sweat and tears to be where she's at.
Safety of the athletes is a top priority at TRA and they will not move your athlete along just because you want them to if they dont believe it is a safe move. I value that in a gym!

My daughter has gone to this gym for only a few months, and we have felt like family from day one.
Coaches have genuinely made my daughter feel like they have taken a special interest in her, and they do that with each and every child. She feels excited to see her coaches and other staff at the gym everyday. She feels liked, wanted, and accepted for who she is at this gym.
She has absolutely flourished at TRA. Before coming to TRA, my daughter went to a well known gymnastics gym (out of state) for two years regularly. She has learned and advanced more at TRA in the short time she has attended classes there, than in the two years at our previous gym. I cannot say enough good about TRA. I will continue to recommend this gym and its coaches to EVERYONE I KNOW.

One of the owners, Mark, does a lot to invest in the athletes at this gym. He is so kind and giving- I have personally seen him fully fund needed items for athletes at this gym from his own pocket. I’ve seen him coach private lessons for athletes needing extra help or time. He is there late at night, he is there on weekends, he really does a lot with and for these kids.
He has a huge heart and it is so evident that he is in this because he loves the sport and wants to see these athletes grow and find their own love for the sport. I could go on and on about every coach and staff member at this gym, honestly. Everyone is so dedicated, kind, and willing to help.

Second year at this gym! We have had the absolutely best experience here all of the coaches are amazing!! Mark, Cheyenne, Emily and Allyson have helped my daughter grow not only in tumbling but having the self confidence in herself to work as a team. I have heard horror stories of the drama that can be associated with cheer and or dance however, that is one thing that DOES NOT happen here all! I was practicing for upcoming college cheer tryouts and came and tumbled here! He stunted me and spotted me on some skills I hadn’t thrown in years. He was very kind, and gave good corrections! I would recommend this gym!

Great staff that works hard and puts the kids well-being above all else! Technique and correct form are placed on high priority when instructing tumbling, cheerleading and stunting. Not only does this business demand the best from their coaches, they also require athletes to be held to a standard of great work ethics and kindness towards each other. Furthermore, Tyler Rose Athletics takes matters of bullying and harassment very seriously. In fact, they held an entire week of an anti-bullying campaign where they confronted many of the social stigmas that take place in the cheerleading community.

The Owner and the Manager both are willing to work with you, and will always place the need of the child above all else.

You as a parent would be happy to send your child here, and the kids would have a blast in any of the the tumbling programs, cheer teams or open gyms that Tyler Rose Athletics has to offer.

Very unprofessional owner. He told me my daughter was not welcome back until a "review" on here was removed. It was removed but he never confirmed my daughter was welcome back so I did not take her until he clarified that was ok. She missed a practice because of it and was dropped from her cheer team because he stated "because she missed practice". He is quick to make demands on what he wants but nothing else matters. I did what was asked and she still was dropped even though they are aloud to miss 4 practices shes missed one. He does not handle situations unless I guess your friends with him. I would beware of this happening to your child as well if he can make rules up as he goes then why have rules to began with. My family nor my kids will ever step foot inside tyler rose athletics again.

Also in fact your latest email said she was dropped BC she missed practice on Sunday and you demanded 100.00 then demanded 500.00 to reinstate her. Well after doing what was asked my daughter was dropped from here and now they want 250 for what the owner and most of his stuff don't handle issues and as for the staff the main guy sits in the lobby and acts like he is doing things but he is not doing what he is getting paid to do and that is teach the kids tumbling and cheer the other male staff member well he is a good coach but has no people skills and when you ask a question he blocks you on Facebook when that is the main way to talk to him so I'm sorry for the kids who are there bc you are not getting what you are paying for and that's not fair to the kids and the parents

I am extremely upset, that the owners of the gym decided mid way through the competition season to terminate the girls coach and hire a new coach. My daughters competition fees were paid over the summer time and they refused to reimburse. We left and will not be back.
