Great instruction, and equally great people. My only wish is for more open gym hours! Otherwise, the tumbling and bar sessions are absolutely top-tier.

Do not recommend for neurodivergent children. They have no training in managing children. "Coaches" are immature, and I was growing concerned about how they interacted with my child. They gave no warnings about possibly expelling my child, and then two days notice with only a month left in school. Finally, the facility is very cramped, and I just don't see how parents can actually observe workouts in any meaningful way.

My family has been at united for nearly 2 years. We stayed through their location change and dealt with paying for yet missing weeks of gymnastics. We kept hoping it would get better, but it did not. The boys classes do not train on boys' gymnastics events. Both boys and girls classes are very repetitive and restricted by lack of facilities. The coaches do not correct form. I requested multiple times for my children to be evaluated and it didn't happen once in nearly 2 years. Hard to progress if you're never evaluated. The prices are about the only reason to stay.

I wish I could have left the gymnastics school on a better note but with their lack of communication as a business I feel the need to leave a poor review.

We decided to pull my daughter from this school due to the lack of organization in their classes. They had way too many kids per teacher (sometimes 6 or 7) so while the instructor helped one child the rest just kind of did whatever. Also these instructors all looked about the age of high schoolers which I might have found a bit less of a problem if it was more organized but actual instruction time per student was minimal and sporadic; not really correcting the child’s form, just allowing them to do whatever.

When I decided to pull my daughter from the school I was told I needed a 30 day notice which is in the contract so I had no problem doing so. My daughter missed 2 weeks from illness and then the school shut down another week to relocate. I sent messages regarding scheduling her make up classes before the end of the month because the membership would be expiring and I was left on read twice over a week time span. And now of course the month is over and they got their tuition payment but wouldn’t honor scheduling any of the make up classes from illness and when they shut the building down for relocation. Big disappointment for my daughter’s first gymnastic school.

My 8 year old daughter has been in gymnastics since she was 18 months old, after our experience at United, I was left with feelings of resentment and anger each time I set foot in the gym. We came here after a move from a fantastic facility and were drawn by its “little gym” charm. The coaches were kind and encouraging and had all the praise to say. My daughter started there as a level two though she was being trained level 3 because we were told they didn’t want her to get lost while the others were competing. That was fine. I was told she would move to lvl 3 after they were done competing then compete in the optional meets as a 3. She should have been held back to 2 and just gained experience to compete there since all but one was canceled for lvl 3. Not totally their fault, but it still happened on their watch knowing she’d never competed.

We were then told she would be retained as 3 and compete placement the next meet season… this NEVER happened. I was lied to, she competed at lvl 3 ACHIEVEMENT instead. They told me she would only compete two achievement levels then she would move to placement, that was another lie. They then wanted her to score out and wouldn’t budge off of prior agreements because “we don’t let parents dictate our teams here.” The coach told me she would spend extra time on the apparatus she was struggling with and the coach didn’t go near her in the time she said she would, lie number 3.

When I spoke to the owners, I was threatened with my daughter’s expulsion from team if I spoke with fellow parents (my friends) or said anything on social media (which I hadn’t). When I put in our 30 days notice I was almost immediately removed from the team Facebook group which caused us to miss one of the holiday practices. Which leads to another issue, they like to make last minute changes to practices without more than a weeks notice to parents, sometimes the day before. I’m glad we’ve left, I hope the next gym works out better, but I could not leave with a clear conscience of warning others. This gym will pull you in and charm you, then they will lie to you after you’ve paid all the fees and are stuck. Be careful and get everything in writing because they’ll alter their word otherwise. This gym almost ruined the sport for us, I hope it doesn’t for anyone else.

At first I loved this place. My three year old has a separate area that they do her class in. I see lots of girls doing good technique in the club classes. However the good things quickly became overshadowed by the bad. My three year olds coach I don’t think she even likes kids. She has no fun with them and they spend the last ten minutes of a 50 min class on a roller car track. I’m not paying for her to be babysat.
My 6 year olds class never has a consistent teacher. And some days her class has four kids in it and she gets great instruction and then other times it has 8-10 kids and gets no correction or technique taught. I’m not paying for my kids to be babysat. I want them to learn good technique and build up the correct muscles for gymnastics not just run through the motions with no correction or hands on help.
I have no problem with their covid protocol they have masks on adults optional and the kids get hand sanitizer after every apparatus and don’t have to wear masks!
My 6 year old started robotics and it’s interfering with getting to gymnastics on time. I asked to be able to cancel. We didn’t know she was going to do robotics until this week. They say too bad you have to provide a 30 day cancellation to get out 🙈. Come on. So I have to pay for next month and not come or come and pay like normal but they’re not off the books until the end of next month. Super frustrating. Not accommodating.
And my last complaint is PARKING! there’s no safe parking. Your either boxed in and it’s hard to get out or your in the dirt on the side of the road. There’s no paved parking lot for the gym.
While United is cheaper than other options in town you get what you pay for.

Not going there ever again. I asked before I took my daugther if they dis not require mask on adults. They said bo, they talked to me the day I came in, they let me watch my daugther the whole hour without a mask. No one said anything! Next time we go in for the second class they tell me I am required to wear a mask. After my daugther did the try out? After you let me watch her try? Manipulative people who only care about money. They said they were following the Northside rules, but even in school kids wear a mask. Lies, not transparent at all. Kids get spray with lysol right beside them, the place do not have good ventilation. The actual gymnastic teacher was a good teacher, but I can take my business somewhere else .

Well hate to say anything bad about anyone, but if they dont change that person in the front desk that is representing United Gymnastics they will loose alot of customers. This person in the front is not an inviting person at all,it seems like if she doesent want anyone to talk to her at all,you just feel afraid to even ask her a question because of how she answers to your question, always with an additude. The coaches are great and real friendly. The problem is in the front, the person in the front should have a smile and be polite and helpful, but she is the total opposite of that. She is the first person you see when you walk in those doors, she suppose to set a good image of your buisness and not a bad one.

I hate to give this place a bad review but I'm just so disappointed. We have been attending since March of 2015, and to be honest she hasn't learned anything new. She is 6 and doesn't even know how to do a cartwheel. Part of that I believe, has to do with the teachers And the fact that they have too many students at a time. As far as administration, the lady up front is rude and unprofessional. She is definitely not a people person. The facility its self is pretty dirty and last time I checked, they don't even have first aid kits. Sadly, although my daughter loves it here, I might just remove her and spend my money somewhere else.

The lady below me is nuts. Period.

My sister goes to this gym and loves it. As for the story below me, she leaves out a few details about her story. When she "went across the gym to get daughter" she actually walked across the gym floor in the middle of another girls tumbling pass, her flips, and caused her to fall and hurt herself (well, trip. But a bruised thigh counts as hurting herself). She's basically the kind of lady who orders a cheeseburger with pickles at Red Robin, eats everything EXCEPT the pickles, then demands to get her check waived. United Gymnastics had to ask her to leave because she kept coming back just to yell. It was annoying.
