Amazing instructor Stacy really challenged me and gave amazing instructions and adjustments! Would have to say it's in one of the best top 5 classes I've ever taken tbh. I have taken over 200 hours and I felt so relaxed after. :)
Such a nice, encouraging teacher and people in the class, such good community! Thank you ☺️ Blessings!

I’ve been practicing at this studio for about 15 months and want to acknowledge Sean and Micaiah. They’ve helped me make steady progress in my practice by balancing awareness of the body with encouragement to try new poses. They make classes fun through their personalities without compromising yoga growth and mindfulness. With their guidance, I was able to start working into arm balances, which has been a meaningful step forward for me. They always have a welcoming and encouraging attitude which I will miss. They were also a large reason I continued attending regularly after one of my original favorite instructors left soon after I joined on a yearly membership.
On the business side, I do want to share a caution. When I completed my yearly membership I moved to month-to-month, it wasn’t made clear that a specific notice period was required for cancellation. Over a month before canceling, I asked the front desk and was told a week would be fine. Based on that, I waited, only to learn from the owner that I owed another month because of notice period and policies. Her resolution would be educating the team on the policy moving forward. In hindsight, I would’ve gone on ClassPass not month-to-month to enjoy the teachers with more flexibility.
In summary, Sean and Micaiah are strong teachers who have helped me improve, but I recommend reviewing membership details carefully and confirming cancellation requirements directly through email. Email communication typically takes 2–3 days for a response.

So delighted to find Uptown Yoga. I recently moved here from Atlanta and have been welcomed into the Uptojw Yoga community with open arms. I feel such a warm sense of gratitude each time I walk into the studio. I love it so much that I’ve signed up to go on 2 retreats this year through the studio. Can’t wait!

Uptown Yoga has been a staple for Yogis living in State Thomas neighborhood, Uptown and beyond. Really, placing it in the highest tier for quality. Other studios I found the space uninspiring or the teacher too quick to get novices into complex poses. This studio focuses on Vinyasas and grows from there.

I’ve had an amazing experience at Uptown Yoga, starting with a free session at Griggs Park that hooked me right away. The instructors are absolutely fantastic👏! After joining the studio, I’ve been part of their welcoming community for over six months now. The staff is so friendly, and the peaceful environment makes every visit a pleasure. I really appreciate the supportive atmosphere and the genuine care they put into each student’s growth. Uptown Yoga has truly become a place I look forward to visiting every week—or even every day🥰! Also, big love ❤️ for the new perks—the cold lavender towels after each class!

Having moved to Dallas 4 weeks ago from Australia (and leaving a beautiful yoga studio/community behind) I was nervous about starting again and worried I wouldn’t find somewhere comparable…my husband and I did our first intro class at Uptown Yoga last night and both really enjoyed it! Whilst a little different to our old studio’s style (which is to be expected) there was still a lot to love. The calming ambiance, perfect lighting and beautiful sounds combined with the warmth, enthusiasm and passion of the instructor Sean, created an energizing and relaxing experience. Will return for sure!

Slow Flow with Micaiah is my new favorite class! Loved the peaceful way to end my day while still getting in a decent workout. Also appreciate her cues to make sure your form is protecting your joints - I've unfortunately learned from experience how easily you can get hurt with poor form, so it's an invaluable to have an instructor who cares.

Not worth the price. They charge a whopping $165 a month for yoga classes for a specific program and if you want to add more you get charged more. For the same price, you can go a high tier gym like lifetime or equinox which comes with a full gym, pool, sauna, numerous yoga classes with different teachers at all hours of the day and multiple floors.
The yogi's aren't really good teachers, most them don't care if you do the poses correctly and just want you out before the class is over. On top of that, most of them are attractive so they are somewhat stuck up and look down on you if you are new, at least that's why my gf told me with her experience.
The worst part is that the building looks like they took a small house and just turned it into a make shift yoga studio, very tacky. They also teach 1 class at a time and if you are 0.000033827 second late past the 5 minutes before the class starts. Too bad you missed the class, which is insane since they are located near downtown and the traffic is insane.
Overall, I had a okay experience here but there's just so many red flags that had I known before hand I would have never spent the $165 x 2 a month. Go to any gym, most of them have it, hell LA fitness is $40/month and they are better than here.

I discovered Uptown Yoga through ClassPass and decided to start with Jennifer Usher's Deep Stretch class. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease. Jennifer's class was exactly what I needed – soothing yet invigorating. It left me wanting more, so I opted for a monthly membership without hesitation.
Since then, I've explored various classes with different instructors, and each session has been a delightful experience. What impresses me most is the level of knowledge and expertise demonstrated by the instructors. Their cues are spot-on, guiding us through each posture with clarity and precision.Having undergone yoga teacher training myself, I appreciate their ability to not only teach physical techniques but also provide comprehensive instruction.
Uptown Yoga has truly become my sanctuary. With a wide range of classes offered throughout the day, it's easy to find one that fits my schedule perfectly.
If you're looking for a welcoming yoga studio with top-notch instructors, convenient scheduling, I highly recommend giving Uptown Yoga a try.
Parking is a breeze, with a small lot behind the studio and ample street parking options nearby.

My experience at Uptown Yoga has been incredibly rewarding! I started off attending the evening All Level Flow classes to ease into the routine and flexibility I once had. Going to class consistently paid off as I became more flexible , and strong. I also noticed my breathing was somehow better too. I didn’t feel so constricted anymore.
I eventually took classes at different times and had new teachers. I really like that although each teacher has a unique style overall, the classes felt cohesive. The feeling of the environment offers a uniformity in the attitude and aesthetic the studio and its teachers embody. After meeting the studio owner, Jennifer Chitwood, I understood why the studio runs so well.
Yoga became so important to me that I decided to dive deeper into the practice. I chose to take the Yoga Teacher Training and certification offered at Uptown because I like the studio and the teachers very much.
The next part of the review will be of the YTT program.
I took Yoga Teacher Training at Uptown Yoga! I wanted to dive deeper into the practice and understand more about yoga. I decided Uptown would be the best place for it since I had been a long time student. The YTT program and certification was taught by Jenn Usherr-Davis and Lisa (Reynolds) Bevers. It was a journey into the history of yoga, it’s impact on mind and body, its philosophy, and all the skills necessary to be a competent yoga teacher. The program also focused on safety on the mat and different modifications for all physicalities in mind. Learning about the philosophy of yoga was surprisingly inspirational. I was able to dedicate myself to meditation more authentically and with vigor. YTT forced me to look inward and reimagine what it means to teach yoga. My new ability to create yoga flows means that I can teach yoga as well as have a more profound impact in my own practice. I’m very grateful to have completed the YTT at Uptown Yoga. I highly recommend it!

UY's rooster of teacher's is second to none. Each has h/her own individual approach which diversifies the student's experience making it more fun than the typical "cookie cutter" studios. However you best learn - hearing, visual, online or private sessions - there's a teacher @ UY that will be a good match for you. However you like your flow - aggressive, moderate, or gentle - again, there's a teacher @ UY that will be a good match for you. Give it a go!

The teachers are very skilled. When practicing at Uptown Yoga I really feel challenged by the various flows, nothing is ever the same and it really helps you to grow and challenge yourself. It’s not the run of the mill yoga where everything is predictable, and teachers do the same thing all the time and the flows are repeated way too often. I really feel like I’ve been able to grow and deepen my practice through Uptown. Alex, Naomi, and Stella are all amazing and do an awesome job! They are very skilled and give awesome classes! While a lot of Dallas yoga locations seem to loose the zen of the practice with a churn and burn high velocity pace, Uptown bucks the trend with a calming space, experienced teachers, and a more methodical pace that allows for a more relaxing experience. Alex, Naomi, Sean, Jessica, and others have a wealth of knowledge to share and are happy to do so. A much more accepting and grounding experience when compared to the teacher training mills in the strip malls. The space really shines, just being in it can wash away a week of stress. A Dallas gem!

Don’t go to this studio if you don’t want to be made to feel like a child. Then to reach out to the email provided on their site that they will ‘return in 24 hours’ with no response. It was not welcoming, relaxing, or even a good work out. At the beginning there was a sound issue causing a terrible noise (Very very loud) for a minute before anyone came to fix it. No one greeted me or made me aware it was a no talking studio and was scolded by the teacher in front of the whole group instead of her coming to us individually. If there is no one there to tell you the ‘rules’ of a studio, an instructor should not be addressing you in the way we were addressed for that. I am not a child. You can speak to me like an adult and tell me I am not adhering to your studio policies Left embarrassed, more stressed than when I came, and upset to be spending my money on a yoga studio that preaches several things it does not deliver.

I have taken a couple of classes here using their intro offer on MindBody ($40 for your first 30 consecutive days) and absolutely loved it. The classes are challenging, and each instructor has a different teaching style (of who I've seen so far) which is great! They provide towels, mats, and cleaner, and there is water and other snacks/drinks available for purchase. They also keep it very warm so you can really get a good stretch and sweat out the day! I feel centered leaving here and can't wait to go back. After the intro offer, drop-in price is $20 per class, which I feel is reasonable for the area and quality of what you're getting.

I signed up for a yoga class yesterday on classpass for a 1:30 pm yoga class at your location on Thomas avenue. Was very excited to try your studio out based on the reviews and proximity to my house. Unfortunately when I arrived at 1:27 pm I was told that I would not be able to take the class because somebody else had already booked it. The receptionist was not very friendly at all and did not try to do much to fix the situation besides a sorry I am not sure how that happened. So yes, maybe the class was taught at the location, but I was not allowed to take it which does not make it any better. I am aware scheduling mistakes do happen, but the fact I was not told of the mistake until I got to the studio was horrible customer service as the receptionist said she noticed it when I made the booking. Was a very unfortunate customer experience that I am sure is not indicative of your studio.

I don’t know if I just happened to just go at a bad time or call at a bad time but the attitude of whoever works the front desk/phones is awful. I went to Uptown Yoga a few months back, thinking it would be something fun and relaxing for my boyfriend and I to do. Well I booked a class for him and I earlier that day. We show up that evening and I sign in and then I try to sign my boyfriend in. The lady at the front desk started acting like she had no clue what I meant by I had purchased two sessions and she only saw one under our names (even though it had already been taken out of my bank account for two). I start showing her my receipt and where I had purchased two sessions and she very rudely informed me that I did it wrong (???). I asked if it was okay if we both went in since I paid for two and she rolled her eyes in my face and said “Not really but I guess it’s fine this time.” I was appalled, but since I already paid, we stayed and ~thankfully~ had an amazing class session (the only reason I’m giving them 3 stars instead of 1).
Fast-forward to today and I called and left message inquiring about a promotion that I saw online. A lady called me back and was extremely rude, very short, and acted like she was highly inconvenienced to be having to have a conversation with me on the phone. I am very new to the yoga scene and have been wanting to try it out more but after these experiences, I’m not sure that I feel comfortable supporting a rude staff. I thought maybe the first experience that I had was a one time thing, but after the phone call today too- I’m not so sure.

Definitely my favorite studio in Dallas (I take around the world and own a studio in France) for the quality of the instructors, their creativity, and their dedication to the art of living and teaching yoga to all levels. Housed in an older building, the studio ambiance is simple and clean yet warm and authentic. The mats are free to use high-quality Mandukas. I love this studio and am always happy to catch a class with Janie or Alex!

This is probably the best yoga studio in Dallas! The studio is beautiful and whenever I'm here I just feel so peaceful and relaxed. The studio is so spacious and clean, provides mats and hand towels if you don't bring your own. The teachers here are amazing. I always go to Alex's and Jenn's classes. They have a small parking lot in the back of the studio, but you can also find street parking around (unless it's a busy weekday evening). Highly recommend this studio! You will always come out feeling better physically and mentally!

This is a gem of a yoga studio! Found it on a business trip and was so happy to feel graciously welcomed and part of the community instantly! Our teacher, Alex, was on point! She was steady, fun and integrated new postures and ideas for me to keep practicing! THANK YOU!!

Visited four times (one Tuesday night, and three lunchtimes). Friendly, an excellent pace and a variety of poses that worked well. Great space and those lunchtime sessions from 1210 to 1250 are gold. Hope to be back.

I just signed up for six months after a 30day Groupon. Best classes I've ever had. Simple one room, one focus.

I am new to yoga and really enjoyed the classes here, however I am extremely disappointed in the service that was received today. On their website it says 10 days for $20.00 I thought WOW that is a great deal. This was on September 18th, my receipt also says 10 days $20.00 there is no expiration date. It is OCT 12th and i've been to 7 classes and today I'm told I have 4 UNPAID CLASSES! Why didn't someone tell me after the first one!!! Apparently the deal is only for 10 consecutive days and I owed $80.00 for 4 classes! I've tried to go at least once a week some times 2 a week or 2 classes in one day. At no point was it indicated the deal would expire or that I owed any money. That is ridiculous! They were unwilling to negotiate, however I loved the classes so much I decided to eat the $80.00. I get home and discovered they charged me $80.00 TWICE! SO IN ALL I HAVE PAID 4 $180.00 FOR 8 CLASSES. I've called over and over for and hr and no answers the phone.I checked and they are open until 9:00 I've been calling since 8:00. If my money will be refunded is to be determined. I could have walked out not paid and never gone back instead I did the right thing and still getting screwed.
The day after posting this review I received an email from Uptown stating they did not charge me and that I needed to contact my card company. They also stated sometimes a transaction can show up twice as pending however only one is processed. They made no mention of the false advertising or bad service that was received. Today is OCT 18th and I have sent them a copy of my bank statement showing two transactions that have cleared my bank account. Lets see how long it takes to get a refund.

I took beginners yoga. This class was amazing! I have been looking everywhere for a beginners / easy / gentle yoga class and this is exactly what I wanted! I have an injury I'm nursing and am way out of practice and this class was absolutely perfect. Just hard enough that I feel like I did something and I definitely feel stronger and more flexible after this class, but it definitely geared towards someone who is trying to start or get back into yoga!
Hopefully someday when I have gotten myself put back together, I'll be able to try some of the more advanced classes! Everyone seems so friendly and nice and so I'm really looking forward to getting better!

I have been practicing yoga in a few studios near downtown and recently discovered this studio. The owner and the teachers are great at teaching and do many of the more advanced poses, not just the basics of yoga flow. It makes the classes a lot more interesting and challenging. The studio is one of the nicest around in an old historic building.
