I love this studio. I recently have taken classes with both Ellen and Katie and found both to be very helpful, with great instruction, and an engaging class! I am new and I would recommend getting there early to ask any questions and to not be stressed or cause a delay to other participants. What a great studio with kind instructors. Unfortunately, I have to imagine that any negative reviews here are because folks are not willing to follow the rules, are not arriving prepared, or are having unreasonable expectations- eeek! This studio goes far and above to accommodate compared to many places I’ve seen around the states! Yay Urban Lagree! Thanks Ellen and Katie! Looking forward to more!

Urban lagree is my favorite workout in Austin. It’s a difficult workout where you can really feel yourself getting stronger. They have the best instructors who give great adjustments.

We were a group of 11 girls from out of town for a bachelorette trip and took a private class with Emily. She was so fun and encouraging, we had all different levels of lagree experience and she really made a point to make everyone feel comfortable and strong!

Julia McBride (ATX Chicon studio) is an excellent instructor— my favorite at the studio! She is always clear with cues, great at explaining each move, and very attentive to form. Every class I take with her she has the best energy and is super supportive, helpful, and makes sure everyone feels confident and safe in class. Highly recommend!

I joined urban lagree after spraining my ankle doing HIIT training and needed a lower impact workout to allow my ankle time to heal. What I didn’t realize was that lagree would cure my ankle sprain. The movements are slow and intentional that it helped strengthen my ankle, and after just a couple weeks of classes the pain was gone. It’s such a fun, great workout with a very welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I’ve been coming to the East Austin studio for 8 months now and love it! Lagree is one of the only workouts I’ve found that I consistently look forward to. I feel just as challenged on my 100th class as I did on my first, and I love how there are so many ways to modify or make each workout more challenging. I love that it’s a small studio and all the instructors are very friendly. They find the perfect balance of being laid back and motivating at the same time!

Been coming to urban for a couple months now preparing for my wedding and I've never felt better in my body! I felt toned shortly after 2 weeks! I even brought my fiancé with me and he loves it! He even signed up for a membership! All the instructors are so incredibly nice and so happy to help and teach you! Such a friendly environment, with no judgment whatsoever! I'd your looking for a studio, I couldn't this place recommend more!

Urban Lagree has been my go to studio for going on two years! The instructors are so great whether you’re a first timer or someone like me over 100 classes in they will take care of you! It’s also an excellent work out to build strength and tone. It is tough but you’ll see the results!!

I’m staying in East Austin for a few days and dropped in for a couple Full Body classes taught by Lilly. They were laidback AND intense at the same time! The studio is super bright with natural light, the machines well-spaced out, and the instruction was very clear and easy to follow. The pace isn’t as rapid-fire as Solidcore, so I never felt like I was flinging my body around in a rush (sometimes I appreciate this). It made for a wonderful workout and I left feeling unbelievably strong, balanced, and grounded. The Urban team today (Lilly, Elizabeth, and Julia) were so very helpful, friendly, encouraging, and accommodating. I also got to sample some creatine shots from the Arrival vendor who was demoing. Perfect on the spot post-workout recovery! This studio hits in all the right places ✨

Kelsey was great. I loved her energy, enthusiasm and the way she guided the class. Her physical cues were helpful and she paid great attention to our form. As someone who has practiced the Lagree method for over 10 years, I was super impressed with this studio. They have the newest machines and it was very well-kept. Thank you!

Inaccessible to people who need it the most. No moves demonstrated, auditory instruction only. Instructors will touch you without permission. Probably good if you've taken Pilates elsewhere. It was suggested to me as a good core workout for strengthening the lower back and instead nearly injured myself due to no instruction on proper form.

Do NOT recommend if you are beginning your reformer pilates journey.

I have been loving Urban for the last few months. This week particularly, instructors Alayna and Jabree provided me a safe space to work out when I was really struggling and I am so grateful. Thank you to this team for being so kind.

This place is truly my happy place and I’m so glad that I found it last year. Compared to other studios, this one is very welcoming to all experience levels. Most of the members are very kind and non-cliquey. It’s a good sign to see instructors taking classes in their free time. There is only one instructor that I am not a fan of, but the rest are so encouraging and provide great form correctors. Special shoutout to Lonan, Jabree, Joslyn, and Kelly for curating such a positive energy and vibe.

UPDATE: I regret to inform you that my experience with this establishment has worsened, and I have canceled my membership after 2 years of consistent training at Urban Lagree. Let me provide you with an update on the sheer lack of integrity displayed by the management staff. Upon falling ill and requiring surgery, I reached out to inquire about putting my membership on hold temporarily. To my disbelief, I was met with blatant falsehoods as the staff claimed they could not accommodate such requests due to supposed limitations in their scheduling software. This excuse crumbled when they conveniently "forgot" that they had granted a similar request during my previous illness and surgery last year. It's worth noting that Mariana Tek, the software provider, does indeed support membership holds.

In summary, their actions reek of ethical deficiency, blatantly disregarding their clientele and staff. While I commend the instructors for their excellence, I cannot extend the same praise to the management, particularly Abby. Her demeanor is nothing short of abhorrent, lacking empathy, basic courtesy, and respect. Her classes are a testament to her misguided approach, seemingly designed to assert her dominance rather than cater to the diverse needs of the clientele. It's as if she takes pleasure in pushing her students to their breaking point, oblivious to the fact that some of us have physical commitments beyond Lagree. The aftermath of her classes renders us incapacitated for days, a fact corroborated by fellow students who have approached me seeking validation for their own struggles.

In conclusion, while this establishment has commendable aspects, they are overshadowed by a pervasive culture of dishonesty and mistreatment. I sincerely hope they undergo a substantial reassessment of their practices, particularly regarding management conduct and customer care.

*******************************************************************

I begrudgingly go because the Instructors are all so amazing! However the studio owners think that it's normal to take a week (+) to respond to any correspondence (phone, text, email) and their late polices aren't published anywhere but they will certainly hit you with a $10 cancel fee, even if you've been promoted from the waitlist. I understand having a late cancelation fee, but you 1. need to publish it 2. shouldn't be charging people for cancellations off of waitlist. It's like sitting by the phone and hoping your crush texts you to go out so you don't make any plans, just in case. Oh and if you get off of the waitlist, don't expect a text! Nope, that goes straight to your inbox, sometimes. I'm pretty sure at this point that 80% of their revenue comes from late fees.

Urban Lagree is one of the best work outs I have had in a long time! Beautiful studio, attentive and well trained instructors, and really creative movements that leave you feeling like you can’t wait to go back and get more at your next class! I was brand new and the owners both happened to be there…they were both so attentive in checking in with me and making sure I was practicing proper form as I learned. It’s the strength work out with major sweat and great music I have been needing in my life!!

Urban Lagree is the best lagree workout I have ever done!! The instructors are always so kind and welcoming, and the classes are always challenging in a great way. I LOVE Urban Lagree! I’ve been a client since the opening and have nothing but great things to share about both locations of Urban. I’ve taken Lagree classes around town and Urban is always a favorite. The studios are clean, the instructors are talented and professional, and I always get a great workout. The east side location has megaformers with ramps and I think those might be the only ones in austin. If you get a chance to take a class at Urban, you won’t regret it!

Urban Lagree is by far my favorite workout in Austin and I would highly recommend giving this studio a try. The classes are challenging but highly modifiable and accommodating for beginners. The owners and instructors are all lovely and they really explain the moves and the why behind them as they go through the routine. The best part - the results you see in such a short period of time - strength, tone, definition. Love this workout and this studio!

Such a great experience for your body in 45 min. The workout is REALLY challenging, but also easily adaptable if you need a breather or less resistance. I had Jocelyn as an instructor and she was fabulous. Very patient and helpful to newcomers and super friendly! I plan to keep taking this class - feels like the cost is worth it for what a good investment of your time it is.

When I started urban lagree four months ago I was completely out of shape. Now after going consistently I am so strong with no more chronic aches and pains. Mel, Joy, Kelly and Maddie are my favorite teachers. Their teaching is very positive and they offer tons of modifications for every exercise for those who need it (me). I never feel pressure to follow the herd with these teachers which for me is motivating as someone with chronic pain wanting to get in shape. I think it’s important to note that I have not tried all the teachers because my schedule doesn’t allow it.

This is the best studio I have ever been too. I was nervous going to a Lagree studio since the machine and moves can be intimidating. It's an extremely hard workout but the instructors are so kind, welcoming and encouraging. I can feel myself getting stronger after every class. I found them via ClassPass. They are the only studio I am currently going to. I will be purchasing their unlimited monthly membership once my ClassPass cycle is done. I can't give them enough praise!

I've tried a lot of different studios in my time, and this is one of the greats. The workout is tough. Really tough. But the instructors and vibe of the classes are so welcoming and encouraging that I find myself constantly smiling through my grimaces. It may take a few classes to start to understand the moves, but trust me, you'll get there, and you'll start to see results quickly. The studio is clean and safe, and the workouts change up daily so you'll never get bored. I personally love Mel & Joy's classes - but all the instructors are fantastic!

Urban Lagree: Every teacher I've had (5 different teachers) has been motivating and attentive to form - if you're doing a move incorrectly, the instructor will almost always notice, and give you a few quick pointers to get you moving correctly (I am still learning, so this happens 5-6 times per class :) ). Thanks fam! Don't forget to grab a lifesaver (or 4) after class.
Lagree: The fact of the matter is, Lagree done right (proper movements, nice and slowly) will give you a godly core/torso, aesthetically and performance-wise. I am a competitive cyclist - strengthening my core and all the small supportive muscles in my legs and hips allows me to put more power into the pedals, and have a stronger presence in close-quarters racing/sprinting scenarios.

My favorite workout of all time; it's consistently challenging and you're always sore the next day. It has also helped A TON with my chronic lower back pain. You really only need to go three times a week to get results but I know some people go 4-5 times. The instructors are awesome, the space is super welcoming and convenient (lots of street parking), and it's way more affordable than any other classes I've taken. Can't recommend it enough.

Top notch gym! Brand new modern equipment, super clean, thoughtfully designed interior. My wife brought me to a class where Ron was the instructor... I had never tried Pilates before but he made it easy to figure out and the workout was way harder than I expected. But the classes are set up so you can go at your own pace and take breaks when needed (I took a bunch). Will definitely go again once my body stops aching ;)

Such a beautiful, clean, light-filled studio that makes you feel at home as soon as you walk through the doors.
