SKILLS DEVELOPMENT IS YOUR KEY TO SUCCESS
We specialize in teaching body mechanics and kinesthetic range of motion
We recognize that true skills development goes beyond mere repetition of actions. Instead, we prioritize building a strong foundation by focusing on the mental aspect of learning skill sets. By understanding how the mind and body work together, we unlock the full potential of athletes, enabling them to reach new heights of performance.
Our coaches undergo rigorous training and certification to ensure they have the expertise and knowledge required to guide athletes effectively. We believe that a coach's ability to comprehend an athlete's individual capabilities and tailor training programs accordingly is the cornerstone.

USSPT turned me from a volleyball novice to a growing player! I really didn’t know what to expect as I’ve been to other trainings around DFW that made me feel like I was an idiot. I finally found USSPT where their coaches break down the body movement in a way I could understand. They also offer soccer, which I’m excited to try next. If you want to love volleyball, USSPT is the way to go!

So far I’ve only had one clinic with them so far, and it was put on by Davion, but what I gleaned from my brief time was tremendously helpful. He really knows his stuff, and I’m definitely looking forward to learning much more from him the future!

I went to a few indoor volleyball clinics from Jordan. The coach is very knowledgeable - quickly spotting areas of improvement for people of various skill levels. The clinics have a welcoming atmosphere and a good balance of concepts, drilling specific movements, and playing actual games.

TLDR: Great coaching and fun playing.

I first learned to play volleyball during Ronald Reagan's second term and have attended various clinics through the decades. This is by far the best. I've been going to the B/BB sand clinics for about 2 months after a 7-year break from playing and I've improved existing skills and learned new ones.
I didn't think about it until writing this, but the pricing is ridiculously low for a night of volleyball. Sports Garden charges $8 for open play so the additional 2+ hours of coaching is less than $10 (including the eventbrite fees).

The clinic seems to run through a whole course in about 6 weeks, but it doesn't matter when you start. Although every session is designed to build on the last one they are also stand-alone (you could come to just one and probably learn to do something better).
Each session is roughly an hour of specific skills coaching from Jordan and Tim followed by an hour or more of playing, usually doubles. The coaching is clear, direct, and positive. The other students seem to be enjoying the time as much as I do--it's great when it finally "clicks", and it's neat to see it for someone else.
The skills coaching is some of the best I've had: Each action is broken down into individual movements we then learn to integrate into a whole (see below for an example), pretty much the opposite of the "look at me do all this perfectly and fast. now you do it" with hordes of people and little individual feedback. Breaking things down simple motions helps me both learn quicker and figure out what I just did wrong.
During the game play, they don't stop coaching but they also don't overwhelm us, giving a nice balance between learning and playing. The format keeps us moving, and it's normal to eventually play with and against everyone there.
Overall, it's a great way to spend the evening.

An example of the skills progression for teaching a float serve:
- how to stand and how to distribute weight
- how to toss the ball
- striking arm movement (elbow back, wrist back, elbow forward, wrist forward)
- contact & follow through
- serve (half court, then back line)
- target practice.

I worked with Jordan Wendelken for a couple of years doing private volleyball lessons and he was by far the best coach I've had throughout the twelve years that I played sports. When I was struggling with improving my technique, he always knew exactly how to explain it and help me correct it in a way that worked for me. He always brought a positive and constructive attitude to every lesson, and I found myself improving every week with his help. Even after we had completed my training, he was always supportive and rooting me on from the sidelines. If you want a coach who is dedicated, supportive, talented, and passionate about improving sports performance, Jordan should be your top choice.
