From the state-of-the-art equipment and sauna to the spotless facilities and genuinely friendly staff, this gym has exceeded my expectations since I joined earlier this month.

Another standout perk is that new members receive three free sessions with a certified trainer. It’s a fantastic way to get familiar with the gym, learn the equipment, and build a solid foundation for your fitness goals. With a membership, you get access to their classes as well. They have a really great Pilates class that I've attended.

To me this is the best gym to go to in downtown Fort Worth. For the price and amenities they offer, you aren’t going to find much of a better value. They just added new Saunas which are a huge benefit after a taxing workout. The staff has always been really awesome and the front desk staff to include Calista and others are always very friendly.

I was in Ft Worth for a conference and needed a “real” gym because as we all know, hotel gyms are a joke. Vigor fit my needs perfectly! Great equipment, friendly staff, facility was well kept and background music perfect. All for $20 a day. Recommend this gym if you’re a serious weightlifter visiting beautiful Ft Worth!

Vigor Active is an all-around great gym. There’s a good balance of machines and free weights, and they’re all well-maintained. The men’s locker room is impeccably clean. And the staff are awesome (looking at you, CJ) - they know my name and always say hello! It’s definitely not a show-off type of gym, but the kind of place you go to work on being your healthiest self, no matter where you’re currently at.

Special shout out to trainer Ivan Avila - I worked with him for about a year, and he didn’t just help me get back into shape, he made it possible for me to stay in shape. I love coming to Vigor! It’s become my home away from home; ask anyone that works the front desk.

Facility is clean. Staff is friendly and they remember everyone. Although I have not used their personal training services, trainers are well certified and knowledgeable. I even just noticed a number of machines/equipment that were added and/or upgraded, including the addition of their infrared saunas and PEMF.

I was recently on vacation back home and had to pay for day passes at another “major brand gym”. I hated it. Had to make modifications to my routines because they just didn’t have some of the basic cable equipment that Vigor has that I’ve become accustomed to. Or, even just equipment Vigor has that would only be available at other gyms to members receiving personal training.

If you’re in the downtown area, Vigor Active is my recommendation.

This place is the best! Since I work in downtown, the location is great for me. Owners Stephen and Ashley Newhart are super friendly and very approachable. The staff is fantastic as well. A great example of a gym that will say anything to get you enrolled and then hides the ball when it comes to fees and what you will actually be paying.

I got my membership at Vigor early 2025 and told them that I needed the membership just for 3 months while I finished school because I would be moving away. Several staff and employees assured me that there would be no issue cancelling and that I could do so at any time. As I've seen at some other gyms, they have a 30-day notice policy. However, they also have a required deposit for last month dues. I asked about this and they employees told me that there would be no issue using my required last month deposit to satisfy this 30-day notice policy. They told me that if I provided less than 30-days notice, my deposit would be used for the next month so that my total "notice" before I was officially removed as a member of the gym would be more than 30 days without needing to get charged again.

Fast forward several months and it was time to cancel. When I informed them of my intent to cancel, I was told that my notice was insufficient because I told them 27 days before the next billing cycle instead of 30. In a complete 180 from what I was told at enrollment, when I asked for them to apply the deposit to satisfy the notice requirement, I was told that the deposit will be applied to the month AFTER I give 30 days of notice. Between their notice and using my deposit, they are requiring that I pay for 3 months of membership (87 days) after I have told them I want to cancel my membership. I reread the contract and it said nothing about tacking on multiple extra months after cancellation.

Their policy sees nothing wrong with someone signing up for a membership January 1, cancelling January 2, and then being required to continue paying for membership until April 1. If you are looking at this gym, please be aware that regardless of what they claim or state in their policies, they will require you to continue paying for (through dues or deposits) a MINIMUM of 60 days of additional membership after you cancel. I wouldn't mind so much if they had just been upfront about it, but this 60 day policy is not in the contract and is in direct conflict with what they tell you when they are trying to get you to enroll.

This is not to mention the rate hike with little/no notice, they raised my membership costs by 60% for the same plan within a couple months of my enrollment, another thing they didn't indicate when I enrolled (although I asked and was told that the rate would not be changing any time soon). Although they sent a single spam email, many members including myself only found out about the rate change several months after it happened, despite being at the gym several times a week. To top it off, their standard contract includes provisions like they can charge you any amount for "enrichment" of the club at anytime and you have no right to object.

All in all, they clearly care more about getting people to sign their contract then they do about being straightforward with members or being honest during the enrollment process.

EDIT: Despite the response, the gym did know about this. Additionally, like I said, vigor employees were the one who recommended that I get on the plan I did after I told them I needed the membership for a short period of time. Awesome to see Vigor finally paying attention to their members and giving good membership plan recommendations after cancellation.

During my attempt to communicate with the gym on this issue, they told me that there was no possible way they could waive the fee.

The gym actually admitted that the clause they are enforcing was not in the contract and the instead of looking at the words I should pay attention to the "spirit" of the agreement. I've included the email that actually shows this.

Easy location great parking above the facility. Customer service from the first phone call to front desk was amazing. Respectful and friendly. The give veteran day discount 10 bucks. Facility super clean locker room was best I’ve ever seen. They provide face razors and shaving crème in case you forgot and lockers very clean. They have fitness machines that you don’t see often. I was so excited my chest and tricep day turned into full body. This place is a must for the area.

I arrived late in the evening and was kindly greeted, given a tour of the gym and its amenities. Very nice, clean, plenty of machines and options. I love that they had deadlift platforms.. very cool.

This was a great place to be able to maintain a workout schedule while staying at the Hilton. Theres a little bit of everything and the gym never seemed crowded even during rush hour when you would expect it to be. CJ at the front desk is a national treasure and has a natural ability to remember people's names and give off positive energy when you're coming into the gym. I am pleased to provide this five-star review for Vigor Active. I was in Fort Worth for four days on business, and was searching for a place to workout during my stay. After doing a quick Google search, I discovered Vigor was about one mile from the Sheraton hotel (helpful tip for out of towners, you have to utilize the 777 parking garage if driving a vehicle to the gym). When I walked in the front door, I was immediately greeted with a big smile and hearty "welcome" by CJ. She is one of the nicest people I have ever encountered and in the perfect role! It was easy to sign up for a day pass which costs $15. Included in your day pass is full access to the gym, locker with lock (provided by front desk), water, towels, and the bathroom is fully stocked with toiletries. The gym equipment is nice, fully functional, and they have a robust selection of free weights and cardio equipment. The trainers at Vigor are very knowledgeable, but also extremely friendly. In between clients, I asked Garrett for some diet tips for cutting weight, and he gladly provided his expertise and told me to take his card and follow up if needed. I also visited with Alana who greeted me with a big smile, and was so super nice. If you are in downtown Fort Worth for business, vacation, or a current resident searching for the perfect gym, Vigor Active is your place. Horrific customer service. They chose to lose a member over a $35 refund. Outside of that, fairly pricey for a gym with almost zero amenities. No sauna, no pool, no basketball court, tiny group class room with equipment scattered everywhere.

Edit: Contrary to the response below, they did NOT “offer me 60 days” of continued access. I already had paid for those 60 days. I asked for a refund of $35 for the member I removed from my membership. Vigor refused to refund me $35 which is the dues for my additional member for February. One day into Feb and Vigor refused a refund on multiple levels. I suppose they REALLY need the $35.

I joined about a month ago and I love this place!

Things I really like:
- Little to no waiting around for equipment
- Gym space and locker room are pretty clean and well organized
- Decent barbells: Rogue echo bar and Rogue Ohio power bar
- Not that I do cardio but nice to see Concept 2 rower & assault bike
- Squat racks with spotter arm

Things that could be better:
- The deadlift platforms are not the greatest. Won’t really be an issue if you pull conventional. But it will be a bit awkward for sumo with the uneven platforms
- A sauna would be amazing! I almost joined Absolute Recomp instead just because they had a sauna. Got a newsletter from them recently saying other members also wanted a sauna. Hopefully this will happen🤞
- Some heavier kettlebells would be great. The heaviest is around 52 lbs I believe.
- More bumper plates would be nice. The bumper plates only go up to 365 lbs

Worked out here for 10 months while living in downtown Fort Worth temporarily and it absolutely spoiled me. A perfect gym if you work out in the evenings after work. Never busy after 5:30pm, plenty of weight machines and cardio equipment, free weights, two dumbbell areas, multiple bench presses, squat racks and deadlift platforms. And EVERYTHING is always so clean, between equipment, locker rooms, restrooms, etc. Really sad to not be able to go here anymore. 11/10 would recommend.
