I would’ve loved to give Waterbear CrossFit even more than 5 stars if I could! The coaching, community, and energy here are on another level. Every workout is challenging but fun, and the support from both the trainers and fellow members makes a huge difference. Whether you're just starting or looking to push your limits, this place has something for everyone. Highly recommend! This place is always stress buster for me.

This is the ultimate CrossFit gym run by the most elite CrossFit athlete I have ever met - Chase Smith. After over a decade of experience, I consider myself privileged to learn new things and to be challenged like I have never been challenged before every single time I enter this gym. The programming is amazing, the coaches are amazing, the equipment is amazing and the community is amazing. Truly a masterpiece.

GO TO THIS GYM! My husband and I have been CrossFitting for 12+ years. We are members at a competitive box in upstate NY. When we go on vacation, I painstakingly investigate CrossFit gyms for us to do drop-ins. The Dallas area has so many options, but my research yielded that WaterBear was our best option. Holy moly was I right! Beautiful gym, extremely clean, well-organized, nice equipment, incredible owner/coach, lovely members, and excellent programming! If we ever move to Texas, we know what gym we will join :)

I've been a member at two other Crossfit gyms, have dropped in to several across the country, and although I've always had great experiences, Water Bear stands out as the best gym I've experienced by far. The programming is challenging, always with scaleable options for those who need it, the coaching is detail-oriented and valuable, and the community is great. I can't say enough good things about how Chase and the community approach fitness, and I'm glad I'm a member.

I had a few items to cross (pun intended) off my gym wishlist. Water bear easily met them all.
- clean facility
- equipment variety (they have almost every machine used in CrossFit and in amazing shape)
- class time variety
But most importantly the programming and coaching. This is my first time trying CrossFit, I started working out in 2022 so fairly new athlete. There is a stigma that CrossFit can lead to injuries but this has been the first time I was taught proper form. Safety and warm ups have always come first every single class. There is zero pressure to push past comfortability. Every week I see growth in my lifts and gymnastic skills thanks to the coaching by Chase, Rion and Raheem. Trust me it takes a lot of patience and cueing for me to understand some of the more complex Olympic lifts. This place is definitely the best track for new athletes.

I am new to crossfit, and this seems like a great place to start for beginners and veterans both. It is a relatively new gym, equipment is new too and in great shape, and the owner keeps the place in neat and clean. All coaches help and guide, making sure noobs like me don't sacrifice form and don't get hurt doing something wrong. Even members help and motivate each other. The owner mentioned the community aspect of crossfit, and I get what he meant by that here. Overall, it's a fun place to be here on your crossfit journey.

If You Want To Run Far, Run Together” - Fitness is a journey and it takes a long time unless you find a community that is welcoming/motivating, we do not feel the urge to step in everyday. This place has plenty of nice people with whom we can easily connect and share the fitness journey that fosters the sense of belonging to drive here everyday.
“YOUR BODY CAN STAND ALMOST ANYTHING. IT'S YOUR MIND THAT YOU HAVE TO CONVINCE.” - All the coaches over here Chase, Raheem, Rion, Rich will watch out for each and everyone. It brings the peace of mind that if we happen to do something wrong, we have someone who always got our back. This motivates us to push everyday if we want to see results.
“Easy is instant gratification, Hard is a lifetime of satisfaction” - The 3 tracks what Chase provides here is good for people with any fitness levels. Plus only when we feel its achievable we get motivated to push rather than giving up altogether. That easy instant gratification we get by finishing the (challenging) workouts everyday will automatically push us to achieve the hard goals we set to ourself.
This place is what I was exactly looking for and hope whoever reads this find your home gym too soon. If you happen to live in this area, this may be the gym for you 😊.

Dropped into water bear and was blown away with how great the coaching and programming was! Attention was given to all athletes no matter what their skill level. They offered multiple options on the wod depending on what you wanted. I chose complete and it was a great workout. Other members were welcoming and invited me to work in with them on the strength portion. This will not be the last time I drop in. If there was more than 5 stars I would have selected that.

I’m so thankful to call this my home gym. Chase is very thoughtful in regards to his programming, warm up, and overall flow and layout of the class. Not only that, but he is very considerate of his members. He was very gracious in my trial period as well as my eventual transition to Water Bear. I have been doing CrossFit for a few years now, and Chase gives great cues and coaches me everyday. He coaches everyone regardless of skill level. I wish there were more gym owners that are as intentional as Chase!

Absolutely enamored with this place! Having tried out several CrossFit locations in the past, I can confidently say that Water Bear CrossFit stands head and shoulders above the rest. My journey with CrossFit hit a snag when I injured my knee during previous training at a different facility. Thankfully, when I joined Water Bear CrossFit and informed Chase Smith about my injury, they displayed an unparalleled level of attentiveness and care.
Throughout my workouts, Chase and Ryan (and rest of the trainer) closely monitored my movements and form, identifying areas where I was going wrong and promptly correcting them. Their personalized guidance and expert advice have been instrumental in my recovery journey. Thanks to their diligent efforts, I am now able to engage in workouts without any knee issues holding me back. I highly recommend Water Bear Crossfit.

Excellent facility with great members, coaching and programming. Coming regularly, along with a couple lifestyle changes, has given me substantive strength gains, a decrease in BF%, and has further fortified my confidence and determination -which naturally overflows into other areas of life. Within a few months of training regularly I've been able to stop medication I've been on for over a decade and see real health improvements. Best of all, the active coaching has helped me avoid and recover from injuries which have been an issue. The facility has members at all fitness levels and the coaching staff are committed to scaling the workouts, so they are suitable for the individual.

Being someone that was not in the best shape I was very nervous going into a CrossFit gym. But my experience has been nothing but great! Not only does Chase work with each person to ensure a safe and challenging workout no matter what level you are. But the members at the gym are just as amazing! I have never been part of a gym where everyone there is rooting for you. This is all a testament to how Chase runs his gym. I have had the pleasure to work out while pregnant and now postpartum under Chase’s programming. I thought as the “pregnant” member I may be brushed off and given basic things to do but Chase was always quick to give me substitutions for any exercises I was unable to perform. More recently, I’ve started to get back into a consistent workout routine. I like the fact that Chase programs 3 different tracks daily, it’s nice to have the option to choose what you want to focus on. Attention to detail is seen all around from the programming to the actual facility. I can’t say enough good things about Waterbear!

I cannot recommend Water Bear Crossfit enough. The members are warm and welcoming. I always get a good laugh in at some point while we are working out (and that is even at the 5:15am class). Chase's programming is unmatched. He provides three different tracks but will still make modifications based on where you are and what you want to get out of the workouts. As a “big” guy myself, it can be very intimidating and discouraging to see the word CrossFit and walk into a gym and see high level athletes. However, that’s not at all the case at Water Bear! Coach Smith, has done a tremendous job of making me feel comfortable and welcomed in his gym! All he asks is that I believe in myself, and I can see the steady improvements in my health, strength, technique, and overall fitness brought by his programming and training process! He’s very accommodating and can substitute movements in the workouts to help cater to your skills or fitness level, all while getting an amazing workout! WBCF is more than your local “box”, gym or studio. It’s a place where a work from home mom can workout side by side with an elite level athlete. Chase, Heather and the whole family there make you feel comfortable and welcome. Chase offers his 11+ years of experience as a coach and elite athlete with patience and kindness. Don’t get me wrong he will make sure you put in the work. Even when he provides modifications, you’ll feel it the next day… I really appreciate the way the programming is set up with three levels so anyone can participate. 100% recommend for a class or even stop in to say hi!

This gym is simply amazing! Chase (the owner and head coach), is so dedicated to his athletes their development. He is excellent at managing classes while also meeting the needs of each person - correcting movements, ensuring safety, and providing constructive feedback.
This CrossFit gym is for everyone. With three separate workouts each day, we the programming meets you where you’re at. I got my sister and her husband to join and they have never done CrossFit. It is perfect for everyone!

I started doing CrossFit 10 years ago for 3 reasons: the community, the program/workouts, and the coaching. It’s tough to find a place that executes all 3 at a high level, but that’s what I’ve found out Water Bear CrossFit. The open atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, the workouts are challenging and can be tailored to all levels of experience, and the coaches hold high standards for all participants by providing on the spot feedback to execute the movements properly and safely. It’s doesn’t hurt that it’s a brand new facility with all new equipment. I can honestly say it’s the best hour of my day every day!

This place is truly life changing! I had major knee surgery a few years back and gave up some life activities thinking they were behind me until I started working with Coach Chase Smith (owner/coach). Will not meet an athlete/coach more dedicated to his craft and the success of his athletes/students. Waterbear’s unique programming with it’s three different tracks allows you to ramp it up or dial different movements back depending on where you’re at that day. After having been to several CF gyms around DFW I have zero doubts Water Bear CrossFit is the ideal place to start your fitness journey, or your new home if you’re just simply looking for a change of scenery. What sets it apart from any box in the DFW area is the top notch programming it has. You will not find better programming ANYWHERE else. Chase (owner/coach) is extremely knowledgeable about fitness and knows exactly what and how to program. Nothing is ever random, everything is with a purpose, especially the warm-ups.
Chase never cuts any corners, and is always available to help with technique, tips, or just words of encouragement. He’s genuinely focused and committed to help you achieve your fitness goals or just get through a workout, and most important…in a safe way. His meticulous attention to detail is evident from the second you walk into the facility. Everything is organized, neat, clean, and brand new, believe me, you won’t be using an ancient rusty assault bike in this place. The floors are always clean, the bathrooms are spotless, and there’s even a chiropractor on duty just in case you need some tweaks!
You will leave your class feeling accomplished, doesn’t matter what your level of fitness is. 3 different workouts are programmed depending on skills, experience, etc, and ALL of them are excellent. If competing and achieving maximum results is your thing, then you’ve arrived at the rice place, trust me, or just ask to meet Cedric and Shane, 2 “semi-fit”guys 😂 The community? Where do I even start. Everyone is extremely welcoming, patient, friendly, and genuinely glad to have you drop in from out of town or join as a new member.

The programming is absolutely genius. Water Bear offers three different tracks of programming that all provide the same type of stimulus; creating an enjoyable and challenging workout for all levels of fitness. The spirit of CrossFit lives in this gym. Chase (and heather, you go girl) are two of the most incredible people you can’t help but root for. CrossFit is a great workout, yes, but the community is what pulls you off the floor.
