Fantastic gym with very new equipment and knowledgeable & caring trainers. Sandra and Rob have owned and operated for 10+ years, instilling community, camaraderie and science into their training regimens. Highly recommend for both casual and advanced athletes.

The BIRTHFIT postpartum series was instrumental in my healing and return to movement after an unplanned c-section. Catβs coaching coupled with the BIRTHFIT programming was exactly what I needed to feel capable of returning to movement. Catβs advice to find out who I am and things I enjoy doing as a mom was perfect. I needed to know that I can take care of my baby, be a good mom and workout to be my best self. I would 1000% recommend the series to anyone and would gladly do it again. If a mom was on the fence about doing the series I would tell her to just sign up! There is really nothing that is a slow return to working out with a community aspect like the BIRTHFIT postpartum series. As a chiropractor and as a mom, I can now see why this series is so helpful and impactful. This series gave me the confidence to start moving in ways that I was scared to after my c-section. Cat is amazing at being able to modify movements if you have pain or if you need to wear your baby during the workout. I am beginning to feel strong again and I cannot thank Cat enough for all her encouragement and amazing coaching.

We have been members at CrossFit West Houston since 2016. When I say we, I mean my entire family. My mom, Dad, husband, myself, and even my daughter during summer classes. I have been to many CrossFit gyms in Houston, and I love the high quality of training at this gym and the friendly family atmosphere. The exercises are always varied, challenging the fittest to the beginner, carefully modified for all levels, and I always feel so much more accomplished when I finish. Rob is also an excellent nutritionist and knows how to customize plans for an individual., I once signed up for a 6-week program, where I ate from a custom plan, based on following a few principles, and lost inches of fat for the first time in a years! Iβm just 6 weeks!
During the pandemic, Rob and Sandra (the owners) made an incredible program for online gym plan, rented equipment out, and made sure we stayed healthy even during the lockdown. When they opened back, we have been working out in socially distant squares, with excellent ventilation, and continuing to be a place to grow physically and mentally!! I love the gym, and Iβm so grateful to be able to come here to work out!

I recently completed the summer 6 weeks challenge and it was a great experience. Sandra,Rob and the whole coaching staff were awesome. They understood your fitness level and worked with you accordingly. The workouts were different Everytime and very engaging. The classes started and ended promptly and they have so many slots to choose from so it's very convenient. the challenge itself was very structured and Rob made himself very accessible to you for guidance/motivation! Overall a great gym and I highly recommend it!!

Great community, very knowledgeable coaches and owners. They focus on quality of movement, and in turn help prevent injury. Best CrossFit box I've been too in the last 12+ years, hands down.

I have always had the mind set "CrossFit is only for the fit". I am so glad that I built my confidence up enough to walk into CrossFit West Houston's doors almost a year ago. CrossFit is NOT just for the fit, Its so much more than that. The people, the couches, the workouts are all so amazing. Honestly before joining this gym the most I lifted was a pencil, no joke. It doesn't matter if you are training for a competition or just starting the work out these couches and this gym make you feel like you can and will do anything with your fitness journey. Give it a shot, I promise you WILL NOT regret your decision!!! :-)

Best CF gym in the city. They make the time to make sure you donβt get injured. Programming is not all 25 AMRAP. Instead it is well thought to make you a strong and capable athlete without holes in your game. Good focus on nutrition as well.

I'm new to Crossfit, and I've been lucky enough to be part of the Crossfit West Houston Community, and I can't begin to say enough good things about it. Rob, Sandra, and the rest of the coaches are adequately amazing.

Prior to May 2016, I exercised a few times a month at most. CrossFit West Houston has changed my life. I love it and look forward to every class. I am a regular and try to attend at least four classes a week. The instructors are amazing and the other students are great people. The environment is incredibly fun. friendly, positive and encouraging. For one hour, I don't think about my stress. I am a partner in a big law firm with two teenage kids - there can be serious stress. The mental impact has been unbelievable as has my physical transformation. My stress levels are down and my body is so tight! I am one of the more "senior" students with a more limited fitness history, but the instructors keep taking me to the next level and it feels awesome. For the first time in my life, I am making exercise a priority because I love it and need it! I give CrossFit West Houston my highest recommendation.

I worked with Sandra last Saturday during an HKC certification workshop held at CFWH. She was key in helping me gain new insights in the TGU, goblet squat and KB swing. Her observation skills and eye for the finer points of the movements were appreciated by me. The facilities are on par with a nice set up, necessary equipment, clean restrooms and adequate parking. All good.

i've been a member at CFWH for nearly a year, so it's time for a review... i LOVE it. i will admit, i was skeptical of crossfit in general and my perception was that it's for people far more serious about weights... for the past several years i've been competing in triathlons and running events, and wanted something less time consuming, but that would keep me in shape. a friend of mine suggested i might actually like it, so i Googled the nearest location to my house and went for a visit. in addition to being immediately hooked on the variety and types of workouts, i was hooked on the people at CFWH. it's certainly not anything like i expected. Rob and Sandra Exline make CFWH an excellent place to train. they are both great coaches, making sure everyone in a class understands the movements for the workout of the day; performing a proper warmup with mobility movements; ensuring individual workouts are scaled appropriately; pushing each person in class to perform at their highest level and become better; and making the environment at the gym one that everyone enjoys. since joining CFWH, i have visited other CF gyms while traveling and can say that CrossFit West Houston is doing everything right. from the coaching staff, to the events held, to the camaraderie among the other members - it all makes CFWH a great place to be a part of!

I sampled several Crossfit boxes before happily deciding on West Houston. Each box has it's own personality but most I found were very one dimensional. Some felt like they were only for power lifters, others for finding a date, and others were fun but had no sense of direction. West Houston was by far the most well rounded yet still focused.
Rob, Ryan and the gang at West Houston impressed me when I joined well over a year ago and have continued to since. There is a clear long term plan in the workouts and improvements are steady. My favorite part of this box is that the coaches insist you learn and use proper form. I love it when I am told that I should probably bring the weight down some so I can maintain the best possible form throughout the workout. There is a friendly competitive atmosphere with people from all walks of life. Class times are plentiful and the individual attention is top notch. Rob puts money back into the box and always keeps it looking clean and professional.
I highly recommend you check this place out.

Great place to join a community of fitness and healthy life style. The coaching is top notch. It is hard to find knowledgeable coaches that can keep you from hurting yourself in the Cross Fit world and Rob along with his staff are excellent!
If you are looking for a place to just come in and work out without anyone talking to you or having fun CFWH is not the place for you. The group holds you accountable and will find you if you go missing!!
They are helpful with goals, questions, and just general information about healthy lifestyles without pushing anything on you at the same time. Good balance of information and access to services and products that might help you reach your goals.

I started out at another CrossFit gym down the road (on Blalock). The difference between CFWH and this place is night and day. The other gym required only one hour of βinstructionβ before they allowed you to join. There are many technical Olympic-style lifts that are performed at a CrossFit gym, and there is NO way these moves can be learned in a one hour class. I ended up getting hurt my second day there, because I was pushed to do something I was not ready for. I dreaded going there every time, because I was afraid of what they would expect me to do.
This is not the case at CFWH. The coaches there are dedicated to making sure everyone is using proper form, and not using weights that are too heavy for them. Their main focus is that you are progressing within your limits and to your own ability. Rob (and all of the coaches) are extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and have your best interests in mind. ANYONE can do CrossFit at CFWH, because the workouts can be scaled to suit your needs.
I have never been a βgym personβ and have always hated exercise. It was not until I found CFWH that I developed a love for fitness. And I really do mean LOVE! I look forward to each and every workout, and I get really upset if I have to miss a class for whatever reason. All of the coaches there are great, the gym is CLEAN, and there are many classes to fit whatever your need. After having two kids and approaching the big 4-0β¦.I can honestly say that thanks to CFWH, I am in the best shape of my life! I cannot say enough about this place and what they have done for me!

Two years ago this week I started going to CFWH, and I LOVE it! It isn't just a place to workout, it is a community that supports you through whatever you're going through. For me, a divorce and a surgery I put off for four years, sometimes had me in not so great of a mood. I felt uplifted for doing the WOD (workout of the day) and from the uplifting support from the coaches and the other crossfitters. Not to mention, my recovery after surgery was easier!
Whether you've lived your life in athletics, or was a "get to the gym whenever I can" kind of person, whatever the case may be, the coaching staff at this box (gym) can modify programmed workouts to fit your level of strength and endurance. This is a very addictive sport, and I feel blessed to have found a "home away from home" where I feel challenged, appreciated as a client, and cheered on by my peers!
Kudos to Rob and Sandra for fostering a gym with a clientele that knows they have our health, fitness and safety at the forefront of their minds every day!

I started at CFWH a little over a year ago. I have NEVER looked back. Rob, Sandra, Ryan and crew have taken me from tubby mommy to athlete. With a lot of coaching and hard work, I am stronger, faster and leaner than I have ever been. (Yea, it feels pretty dang amazing.)
The team at CFWH is not only good to me, they are good to my family. Our kids love the children's classes and beg to go every week. My husband, who played football in college, is more strong now than ever.
CFWH is run very professionally, the gym is super clean, the coaches are well educated, helpful and encouraging, but most of all, it's just a fun place to workout. I truly enjoy going to the gym and doing things I NEVER imagined possible. I still get nervous every time I hear, "3-2-1 GO!" but I'll keep going back because I am better everyday I walk through their doors.
Thanks, CFWH! You guys changed my life.

When you join a crossfit gym there are a few things you should be aware of.
1) Are there plenty of classes each day?
2) Do I have to register for a class before I can attend?
3) Am I actually learning the skills and increasing those skills, or is each workout just a grueling event that leaves me exhausted.
4) Is the gym nice? Is there enough equipment for everyone?
1) Crossfitwest Houston has plenty of classes and a class on Sunday. Its all about convenience. And there is a Sunday class. That is a nice bonus. Many members are not even aware of it.
2) Here you don't have to register. Who wants to register anyways. If your a member you should be able to just attend. Some classes at other gyms fill up and your out of luck. I wouldn't want to attend a gym like that.
3) Now onto the skills. From handstand pushups to power cleans to snatches. Does your gym just throw you into intense workouts without any skill work beforehand? Everyone needs time to improve their skills. Be sure your class time is at least one hour. This is ample time. You don't want to be rushed.
4) Is the gym clean? Is there enough equipment for everyone? I have worked out at another crossfit gym with rusted weights, bars, etc. That's not any fun.
