Gorgeous pool when it is actually open. Note the website is not accurate: the pool is regularly used by the YMCA swim team and Buda athletics which means on weekdays you can show up and the entire pool is in use. They also have wonky hours like closing from 11-4pm in the day, every day. YMCA needs to either find a way to fully staff this pool or update their hours and not waste members time.

Absolutely, hands down best Y in Austin. As a lap swimmer I appreciate being able to swim year round. Hours are very limited but it works for my schedule. Staff is amazing and super friendly and helpful too!

Great sized gym with high tech machines. The staff is always super friendly and the memberships are not only flexible and affordable but they also give you access to the other Greater Austin YMCA facilities.
The highlights are definitely the massive pool and the outdoor walking trails.

Happily single and childfree ladies, please look carefully at the pricing for YMCA. They charge $75 for a single woman and $105 for a couple. So if you are a single woman, you are subsidizing couples' and children's membership. These Christian businesses hate women so much. Patronize a place that charges the same for all adults. Don't be the free, exploited 'village'. Shame on you, YMCA.

This establishment and all the employees, management, members, and patrons are fantastic. I cannot speak highly enough of their attentiveness to detail, cleanliness, friendliness, and expertise. I will definitely return.

Camp Moody is by far my favorite Y to visit. The atmosphere is so peaceful and the pool is huge which has handicap reals to help you get into the pool safely. Which is a plus for me because not all pools have them.

Love this place. We have been going every day for 3 months now. It is ALWAYS clean, the trails are amazing and the pool is beyond amazing. We have been to other βYβ facilities in other states and the buildings are old and dark and just feel dirty. This place is new, bright and clean and the staff is constantly cleaning to keep it that way. Highly recommend others at least check it out.

Summer camp review here as well. As we all know it was a miserably hot summer, but they still seemed unprepared near the end of it. Pool has been βbrokenβ and unusable for camp since early July. My kiddo reports they play in the warm hose/sprinklers instead as well as blow up slides with warmish water. He also reports that by midday that the water available for campers is not cold and is even warm at times. Itβs scary to hear these things from your kid in this extreme heat and think that possibly the Y wasnβt doing absolutely everything to ensure everyone stayed cool during the long days outside. I know the environment is out of our control, but it sounds like maybe they werenβt fully managing things within their control to mitigate risk and heat related injuries.

This review is for the kids' summer camp, summer of 2022 during a week where the high temps were over 100. This was an unfortunate situation. My 9yo son got heat exhaustion on the first day, and when he twice asked his counselor for help (using that term, which he understands: "I think I'm getting heat exhaustion") in both cases he was told to wait until the next activity where he might cool off a little. By the time he was picked up he was drowsy and half asleep, and for the next 24 hours he was ill. That night, per his pediatric nurse, his pulse rate and temperature were high enough that he was borderline for requiring a visit to the ER.
The camp director was prompt in offering a refund, and she was apologetic and polite. To be fair, it's an easy mistake to make when dealing with lots of kids in the heat, and plenty of other kids didn't have this problem that day. Also, the camp looked like a lot of fun, and the facility is beautiful. However, my conversation with the director didn't instill confidence in the training of counselors or the response that would be made to this instance. There was nothing that sounded like, "oh, that's not consistent with the training everyone received, I will revisit that at the next counselor meeting." It sounded more like "I'm so sorry that happened" and "to be fair, he didn't ask for help again after the second time." So I'm not going back and I can't recommend it. But if your child doesn't run hot, or if you can figure out a way to book in better weather, it's a beautiful facility and a good-looking program.

Nicest pool I've ever been in. You can see from corner to corner. They heat that bad boy up when it gets cold. 10/10. New gym equipment. Unfortunately no free weights.

My sister had her 11th birthday party here and it was really an awesome experience for all ages! The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating! There's so many activities to do here! First we went swimming then we went to do archery and then we went to do rock climbing! Those girls were wiped out but all had such a blast! I'd definitely recommend a trip here! Fun for all ages! My 6 month old son just loved swimming and then was kept entertain by the activities the girls were doing!

The YMCA has an exciting master plan for the development of this very accessible resident camp and environmental education facility. Consider contributing to the cause to give our community such a wonderful and accessible asset.
