Love this studio and community more than I can say! Been going to YEA for about 6 years and I’ll go as long as I live in Austin. They helped me get through cancer and two pregnancies. Will never forget the special attention for pregnancy modifications and the overall thoughtfulness. Gabriel is a beautiful soul and all the teachers and classes are fantastic. Not only is the Bikram great, everything else is too, including all the special events. YEA exposed me to so much: sound healing, wim hof, ryme, and teaching yoga. Excellence and loving kindness all around!

Love the hot yoga, and try some of the other classes but really come for the hot yoga. I just wish they had a more class offerings for it (10a weekdays only is tough!). Location, facilities (cleanliness/amenities) and staff all awesome, though!

The Hips class is excellent. I will say, I did not expect the room to be so hot! For someone who avoids hot yoga like the plague, it was miserably hot! 🥵 but if you don’t mind a class in a hot room, it’s a great place with amazing instruction.

This is such a genuinely wonderful studio! When you first walk in there are gorgeous plants cascading down from the ceiling. It is a beautiful and clean studio. All of the instructors are true yogis with incredible practices of their own.
It feels very grounded and peaceful at YEA.
It is perfect for beginners or seasoned yogis.
Lots of street parking. Great showers. Easy all around. Highly recommend!

Yoga East Side is an amazing place to get zen, get fit and get connected not only with yourself but with the yoga community. Gabriel , Alexandra , Tessa and all the instructors are fantastic : professional, embracing, knowledgeable & supportive - the staff is smart and fun.
I really cannot say enough positive things about my experience at this studio . The greeting I received when I went to the studio was warm and inclusive ; and they always helped me get set up . The entrance faces the street , but the studio opens up to full length mirrors and windows - looking out to a shaded courtyard with trees.
Practice always starts on time , with easy quick touchpad check-in - newbie friendly. The classes are unique , and challenging ; but all very strongly based in beautifully guided positioning and breathing. The unifying factor is how this studio presents yoga , the focus is not just physical positioning , but a dive into filling yourself with breath , purpose , centeredness , calm and strength. After the 3 week introduction package you will be hooked . Seriously - seriously go check out the classes , every single instructor is wonderful ( which seems impossible but true. ). Yoga East Austin is an undiscovered combination of true cultural respect , theory , physical challenge, magic and encouragement .

My favorite place for hot yoga in Austin! The instructors are amazing, they push you to your limits but also support variations and give individual light supportive feedback during the sessions. The facility is open and clean with positive energy throughout. I also love that they have showers so I don’t have to leave all sweaty. I’m obsessed and try to make it as much as I can!

the BEST hot yoga studio in Austin!

I started my yoga practice here during the free week in January 2023. I could barely touch my toes and was struggling with chronic back and neck pain from my 9-5 in tech.

I mainly go to the Hatha classes in the evening. These classes are perfect for decompressing after a long day but still getting a great workout in. I also love the Spine & Hips classes on the weekends.

I feel healthier and stronger (both mentally and physically) than I've ever been, and I have the YEA teachers to thank for that! They are all SO wonderful. Many have encouraged & supported me to try things I never thought I'd be able to do, like splits & headstands.

Also, the studio frequently hosts teachers from around the world who do amazing workshops. The mobility and handstand workshops have been some of my favorites.

I would highly recommend this studio for anyone, if you are a beginner or seasoned in your practice!

Yoga East Austin is a wonderful community. I’ve been going here sporadically for years now (yoga isn’t my main methodology for training, but it’s nice to include in my regimen), and I love the vibe and welcoming atmosphere that YEA has cultivated. The entry space has lots of greenery and smells of palo santo and/or sage, you’re always greeted with a welcoming smile and invited to get comfortable before practice by using the spacious shower/locker room areas before you step on your mat. The studio itself has lots of room for spreading out, even in a class with a lot of attendees, and the temperature in the heated classes definitely gets hot enough for you to sweat everything out. You’re given enough time at the end of class to soak in your post yoga bliss peacefully, and the community here is always respectful of those who wish to remain in savasana as opposed to moving on with their day immediately at the end of class. Overall I’d consider it the best studio for hot yoga Austin has to offer.

The instructor Devon was working really hard guiding us so thoroughly. It really made it easy to stay focused and not drift off mentally. I didn't feel isolated, being the first time I took a class here. The instructor and staff were really friendly. I showed up late and they still got me set up with a weigh mat and water bottle. I'd had a really difficult time getting their and so it meant a lot that they let me join class late. They answered all of my newbie questions and even took the time to search for a purple mat that I wanted to purchase. If that's not personalized customer service, then I don't know what is. I look forward to being a client at Yoga East Austin for a long long time.

After I was diagnosed with aggressive rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 28, Yoga East Austin was the main source of encouragement to me during a time when my friends and family didn't know what to say to me. I got through the beginning of being ill by going here almost daily, and though I started practicing out of necessity and with severe limitations I came to love it. Even though I wish I didn't have RA, I am actually grateful in some ways because it put me on a path to practicing yoga at this studio, making friends with my body and living life in a more healthy way. I am really thankful to Gabriel, Tessa, Alexandra, and all the caring, knowledgeable and passionate teachers that make this studio what it is. They literally changed my life. I have never felt like a "yoga person," but I have done hundreds of classes here at this point and have recommended it to many people. I may be a lifer because even if I forget about it for a while, my joints will always remind me. Do a good thing for yourself and come practice here. If I can do it you definitely can.

Totally blown away by YEA! I am an absolute beginner, I'm in my 50s, and am not naturally flexible at all. I've heard great things about Bikram Yoga, and I know I love heat (love saunas), though I've never exercised in that kind of heat before. I signed up for the new student special, and after taking six classes, I've already signed up for the unlimited package going forward. I truly cannot say enough amazing things about this studio and the people who bring it to life!

In order of appearance, these are the instructors I've had the great privilege of learning from so far: Tessa, Devan, Michael, Alexandra, and Jamie. And I can honestly say they are each and every one PHENOMENAL: incredibly knowledgeable, encouraging, helpful, attentive, talented, and passionate about this practice and sharing it with their students. I've picked up new pearls of wisdom from each of them, at each class. I am sure that all the teachers at the studio are fabulous, even those I haven't met yet, because that is clearly how they roll at YEA: excellence in all they do. (Thank you, thank you!)

Although so far the only move I can do as it's intended is corpse pose (ha, but really), but just trying the poses is already making me feel different, body and mind (in a good way!). I appreciated that the website explained that we don’t need to be “in shape” or flexible to start this practice— that’s what inspired me to try, knowing that the trying is the thing. I am confident that if I keep showing up with an earnest heart and mind, I will become more flexible, and I will improve my balance and my overall fitness level as well.

Even after just one week, I'm making healthier eating choices in what feels like a natural way... I don't feel like I have to summon a will of steel to turn down junk food like I typically would. After sweating and stretching for 90 mins, my body wants clean food and lots of water, so I'm able to curb my sugar habit without feeling deprived. My body feels better, my mood is improved (I feel more peaceful and less anxious/ruminative), and I’m even sleeping better. The whole thing is actually kind of mind-blowing to me!

In addition to the wonderful humans who work here (and Tillie, the super sweet doggie ambassador who is often there to greet me when I walk in), the studio itself is fantastic: clean and comfortable and welcoming, with lots of natural light. And as if all that’s not enough: there is absolutely *stunning* artwork on display. Alexandra is the resident artist, and I'm in awe of her talent. (If my hubs is reading this: hint for my 55th birthday, please: Alexandra's art is for sale. Hint, hint.)

If you're a newbie like me (or even if you're an accomplished yogi), you can't find a better yoga home than YEA. You'll be challenged and supported in the very best ways. YAY for YEA!! :-D

I don’t normally do reviews, but Yoga East is absolutely AMAZING! It is one of my favorite studios to attend and to practice yoga in Austin. Not only do they offer Bikram, but also so many other different styles such as Ashtanga/Rocket/Hatha. As a yoga teacher, I love coming here to LEARN! I encourage anyone new to yoga, to keep an open mind to all the different styles that yoga has to offer!

It's unfortunate that someone who doesn't know about different styles of yoga or didn't bother to ask has left a negative review of a small business. All Bikram studios have carpet because it's better for the joints. And the "robot" teacher repeating everything twice was following the traditional Bikram style of teaching. Yoga East Austin offers other classes, such as Hatha or Rocket, for those seeking a more "relaxing" class or another style of yoga.

This yoga studio is lovely. It's the only studio I've frequented where the teachers have bothered to learn my name. They have a devoted following and you will see a lot of the same people if you keep coming back.

The studio is spacious and clean with high ceilings. It's a really huge practice space and I have never felt packed into the room. There's usually a good 5 feet of distance between my mat and the next one. I feel comfortable and safe practicing here at the end of the pandemic.

Yikes. Will definitely never go back.

We decided to check it out and went over on a weekday in the afternoon. Wanted to sign up just for one class, and see how it went.

The girl at the desk talked us into a 2 week pass. Because if we used it more than once, it would pay for itself.

So we did that, and regretted it.

The gym stinks. It’s carpeted and then people sweat all over it. 🤮

I don’t know what this class was. But relaxing, or a great yoga session it definitely was not.

The lady running it was a robot. Repeated everything twice, never did a yoga move. It wasn’t good yoga, or relaxing.

Went up to ask if we could pay instead just for the one time, and they refused. Terrible gym, bad customer service. Not recommended. Never again.

Smelly. 🤢

Workers were outside after class scrubbing mats with their dog wandering off leash (not in an off leash area). The worker’s response when I asked him to control his idog was dismissive. If they can’t follow a simple city ordinance to leash their dog, what other rules aren’t they following?

Yoga East Austin is the BEST. The yoga instructors are fantastic. You start out with the basics and they slowly correct you to not overwhelm you all at once. The instructors also rotate, so you learn a new correction from a new perspective for your practice frequently. I’ve encountered a couple bilingual (Spanish & English) instructors so great for any Spanish speakers! The lockers/restrooms are pristine and lovely - and that’s coming from a clean freak. The owners well-trained dog gets to chill in the common area often which is the best surprise and makes my day every time. If you’re looking for a great yoga studio in East Austin, look no further.

This review is not about the yoga classes but rather the service here. Note the classes and options are great.

When it comes to responsiveness and service, this has been really disappointing. Especially when it comes to getting responses to my emails. I have gotten to the point of this review bc of not receiving an email response to my request to cancel my membership for 14 days. They say they respond and check emails every 7-10 days but that did not happen.

Beyond that, when I specifically requested to cancel the membership, 14 days later I got a response saying that my membership was paused. So again, I replied restating my request to cancel. I hope I don’t have to wait another 10+ days for a response to that too.

Beyond that, I’m not sure if there’s been some change in management, ownership or what, but this is disappointing for me bc I’ve been coming for two years now and I can’t get a proper response to an email. They respond to Instagram DMs faster than email though. Again, the classes are good but at this point I definitely do not feel valued as a customer.

A hidden gem - I have taking classes at Yoga East Austin for about a year now and could not be more grateful! This studio has amazing teachers (Gabriel, Tessa, Gil, Alexandra, Sacnicte, Kamryn and more) who are really passionate about yoga. The instructors give you the encouragement and advice you need to come to class every day and continue to improve your yoga practice. This studio is great for all levels as I came in as a beginner

Prior to YEA, I tried several chain studios in Austin which were great studios, however, they did not have the personalized attention, ambiance, and family environment that YEA provides. They have a variety of yoga classes (Forrest, Bikram, Rocket, Dharma) so you are always able to dive into different types of practices. Additionally they offer intimate yoga retreats and workshops (highly recommend both).

I would recommend this studio to anyone looking to get into yoga or are already an expert in yoga. Instructors are extremely knowledgable, patient and friendly

I spent six months practicing at this beautiful place, participated in some workshops, and then met up with my dear yoga family in a yoga retreat.

The all levels classes are incredibly well led.

Not only are these instructional classes led by some of the most educated and friendly yoga teachers, they really do care on building community and empowering the students to own their practice in a safe, mentally as well as physically, manner.

I look forward to meeting up with them again and continue to do some workshops in the future.

The best thing you could ever do for yourself is to be brave enough, and humble enough to go in, try all the classes and meet the people. Everyone is very friendly, and don't let their serious practice deter you from how warm their hearts are, not just how hot the studio can get.😜

The unheated classes are a perfect start to a well rounded fitness practice. And the icing on the cake is the wonderful family you'll gain, along with the opportunity to grow your yoga style and practice at your own pace.

Bikram Yoga East Austin is amazing! All the yoga teachers are phenomenal and very knowledgeable. They offer a variety of classes all week including the signature Bikram Yoga. After starting Bikram yoga in 2018, it has been a life changing experience inside my body and mind and I have so much respect for my teachers and their dedication to make each and everyone of their students the best possible version they can be as a human. I love going to the studio everyday as much as possible. They treat everyone like family and greet everyone by their first name. I have come to make long life friends by just seeing their students daily and attending their yoga retreats. I had been looking for a hot yoga studio that had longer classes 90min, so I started with this studio in January. Membership is a decent price but there are a couple of things that make this studio not so great.

Class times are not great. If you work 8-5 it’s difficult to squeeze classes in because they only have options before 8 on tu/th. I’m a morning person so I prefer my workout before my work day, but I often find myself having to leave the office in the middle of the day or go in later to fit a morning class, since most days classes start after 8.

The smell is a given. Some days it’s better than others, and although I do think they try hard, the yoga room does have some strong lingering smells.

Lastly, I just came back from traveling for two weeks and returned to take a class. My first class back was awful. The instructor was rude, I was being called out throughout the class. I was called out for looking at my watch( my watch tells me things like heart rate or alerts me when I’ve burned a certain amount of calories). I was told not to bring my watch in again. Then after I had corrected a pose because I was having wrist pain while doing it, I was again, yelled at, and told to do it exactly like I was told. Meanwhile I was trying to listen to my body. I had tweak my wrist while skiing so I needed to go easy on it. The instructor continue to scold me when I was not on point. As much as I can appreciate the discipline of this practice, this was my first day back after traveling, I was trying to take it a bit easier but didn’t feel like I was in an environment that allowed for that.

This was also the first time I decided to invite a friend. Needless to say, I didn’t feel like it was welcoming or supportive.

The same instructor continued to be rude to me when I returned the next day. Not the most positive environment for me. Now I’m having to find classes that she is not teaching because I want a more positives supportive environment. On the flip side, I have had good experiences with other instructors.

Unfortunately, I will be canceling my membership in an effort to find a studio that fits my schedule and practicing needs better.

This studio rocks! I have found a community of kind, open-hearted instructors & yogis to practice various styles of yoga with. There's a unique and special vibe to this place. I've enjoyed deepening my practice here. I appreciate that people can leave their egos at the door and authentically show up to be on the mat. Namaste

Hands down The. Greatest. Yoga studio in Austin!
Why?
1. Excellent, friendly instructors. They all (Gabriel, Jenn, Tessa, Sacni, and the rest of the team) do a great job of teaching, while mixing in the right amount of motivation and even some funny yoga humor (makes me :D in my brain even while sweating). I learn something new to improve my practice during every class and they are always available afterwards to answer questions. The instructors will also occasionally show off their mad yoga skillZ after class...which is cool and motivating. Top notch!
2. The studio and locker room are super clean.
3. They host special workshops and classes on the regular...they even did a couple classes in español this month. #legit

Do your mind and body a favor and sign up for the intro month deal. Go three times in your first week and then you will be hooked...even if you can't hook your hands around your feet to do some of the poses :)

I truly enjoy coming to this studio for the workshops they host on a very regular basis. Always top notch talent with great tips for improving your practice. I have not been able to attend anything other than the basic beginning series from their regularly scheduled classes, but each of those has been solid. What keeps me from giving 5 stars here are the carpet--it smells just fine which is the most important, but the lines painted on it are rough and hard with has actually chewed up a toe before; and the water situation, which has improved, but I would be thrilled if I could fill a huge water bottle from a filter water source (fountain or dispenser)!!

This is a really great yoga studio. I have practiced at other Bikram Studios around Austin and in other cities, and this one by far is the best.
There is a sense of community at this studio which I have not encountered elsewhere. The teachers as well as the students are very supportive of each other. It is a great place to practice!

I didn't exactly get the inviting atmosphere others talk about. The owner and his dogs were super nice, but the female instructors had that same conceited attitude which drove me away from Bikram in the first place. I had difficulty concentrating because even in a small class, the teacher used the loud speaker loud enough to make me break every pose I was trying to hold. I also immediately got a call about membership from a VP which felt more intrusive and about Money than whether I enjoyed my experience. Ill probably be back at some point because Bikram truly does wonders for my back and digestion, but I may wear ear plugs and avoid talking to the female instructors.

I'm new to yoga, and Bikram Yoga East Austin has provided a really great introduction to the practice.

ALL of the instructors are excellent, and it shows that they are very dedicated to yoga and teaching.

The studio is super clean, and really nice- photos I've seen online don't do the space justice.

And because the quality of the instruction is so good, I'd say anyone from beginner to expert would benefit from and enjoy classes here.

The studio is gorgeous and the teachers are fabulous but the classes are at the WORST times for anyone working a 9-5 job (like me) - on weekday afternoons, there's only a 5pm or a 7pm... Even a 5:30 class would be easier to make! I would love to be a fan of this studio but times never work out...

Also FYI: the Vinyasa class on Saturdays at noon (why no regular class at this very convenient time??) is basically Bikram Advanced class

Best Yoga in Austin! I used to frequent a few other popular yoga studios, but this one really is a cut above. I've been going very off and on for the past year. Classes are as intense as you feel your body needs. The instructors are all great - super friendly and will push you to push yourself. The studio always has a very clean and warm atmosphere. This practice allows you to focus so much on your body and mind, nothing like any yoga I've done before. The high you get after every class definitely follows you for hours and days. I also really appreciate that this studio is relatively spiritually neutral. Some studios make me feel like having a detailed understanding of Eastern philosophy is a prerequisite to attending class. Not here. Its all about you, your focus, your practice.

Bikram Yoga East Austin is conveniently nestled in the Mueller Community. This sacred space is immaculately clean from the studio to the showers and practicing here is peaceful. Students are greeted by attentive teachers and Gabriel, the owner never fails to inspire through teaching, sharing anecdotes and by bringing in amazing teachers from all over the country like Mary Jarvis, Joseph Encinia, Gianna Purcell and Jim Kallett for weekend intensive workshops.

Bikram Yoga East has offered me the greatest opportunity for transformation and healing from the inside out. This form of hot yoga is a remarkable practice and platform to enhance flexibility, flush out toxins, heal injuries/chronic pain and feel blissful from head to toe.

This is the most honest work my body experiences on a daily basis and the amazingly knowledgeable and compassionate teachers at Bikram Yoga East keep me loyal and coming back for more breakthroughs in my mind, body and spirit.

I'm living testimony to Bikram Choudhury's words, "You're never too old, never too bad, never too late, and never too sick to start from scratch once again."

If you genuinely want to do something with integrity for your mind, body and spirit, Bikram Yoga East Austin has the winning lottery ticket with 26 postures, 2 breathing exercises in a warm and welcoming room for a price that can't be beat.

Moving in meditation at this studio is a complete joy to my spirit. Namaste.
