I have been coming with my husband to Zach's Club for over 12 years. I visited every gym in Lubbock and this was the best for me. The number one thing that I love is that there are no lines and the gym has a very convenient layout, all on one floor with great machines of all kind and a circuit. My husband plays racquetball and they provide courts. And, best of all, they are the only gym in Lubbock with wet steam rooms in the locker rooms.
There is also a chiropractor on site and physical therapists. And there are massage therapists available every day of the week.
Additionally there is a child care area so you can leave the kids while you exercise.
Zach's was the best choice in town for our family. I highly recommend it!!

I've been a member at Zach's Club since 2016 and it's been one of my favorite gyms here in Lubbock. It doesn't get very crowded, the machines are in good working order, and the location is centralized so it's easy to travel too.

The steam sauna works wonders especially after a hard workout and has helped me with my recovery regimen all these years.

The staff is attentive and keeps the facility up and running and are very easy going.

We got a free membership while staying at MyPlace Hotel, so we were grateful for that. The staff were nice but the equipment was slightly dated. We did not see the reinforcement of people to wipe down machines after use. Some of the treadmills were not level on the ground. The shower stalls did not appear to be cleaned daily. Thankfully I wore flip-flops. Overall, it was an ok gym, and unsure of the membership price on whether or not it was a good deal.

Solid gym! I am/was in town for a few days and dropped in. I mostly lift weights but they also have a lot of cardio, cross-fit, courts, and classes as well. What I appreciated is the selection of equipment. To me this was clearly done by someone who has athletic/PT knowledge vs a business owner buying a standard commercial circuit like in most gyms. For example there is a belt squat machine!

The gym looks nice because it has a lot of different machines and is clean, however the quality of the equipment is terrible. Their equipment is very outdated and cheap. The pulleys on all of the cables do not work properly and it feels like you are going to injure yourself. I have trained at many gyms and I’ve never been to a gym with equipment as cheap as Zach’s. I would not recommend going here.

It's a nice gym, friendly and helpful staff. It's not often packed which is a huge plus.

The only downsides are management and the hours of operation but the last one I'm being nitpicky. Management? Working with a trainer got even more expensive and them putting pressure on the PTs for various reasons. That energy does trickle down to the customer.

Very disappointed by the child waiting area!!!
It appears that Melissa the daycare worker is more concerned about taking care of her own grown up Son than your own child.
I was able to witness how she yells at other infants and toddlers. Also there are no cameras at this child waiting area like other Gyms in Lubbock. This is very questionable and risky. Be cautious when choosing safety for your Kids.

We have been coming to this gym for over three years and will never switch! Staff is polite and friendly, the gym is always clean and never too terribly crowded, James always makes a point to say hello if he is up front or you walk past his office, he’s never rude (he really worked with us when another gym snubbed us!) The only cons are (1) they took away the steam saunas due to Lubbock’s very hard water and it didn’t help that other members improperly used them from time to time - they gave the men a new sauna but completely tore out the womens! I really wish they would give us a sauna too ☹️ (last I checked there was no plans to install a womens sauna); and (2) the cardio machines are a tad dated, wish they’d update some of them! Otherwise, great atmosphere so we will always be loyal to this particular gym!

I'm very disappointed in management, due to the James Curtis - Vice President. The manager is rude, has unprofessional manners, one way thinker and never smiles! I do not recommend this gym at all. The bathrooms are dirty and the gym needs to cleaning around the cardio machines. The steam room sometimes works and needs to cleaned. For the past two weeks the stream room has had a wad of toilet paper on the floor. They allow unsupervised mentally handicapped individuals play with the cardio machines, TV remotes and the power outlets. The manager mentioned that this individual comes with his parents to the gym, I was working out for almost two hours and not once saw his parents around him. I felt concern that this handicapped individual might get hurt and the manager mentioned his parents signed a waiver. If other words I had not right to speak out they told me to mind my business! On Friday August 24 the cleaning person who is a man was in the women bathroom and didn't post an alert to the ladies that he was in the bathroom. I walk in and start to changes my clothes when He heard me slam the locker door and I heard him say I'll be out in a minute. He was in the far corner where no one could see him. No one requested to have the individual removed, just a concern of safety for the gym members and myself was brought to your attention! Maybe you might want to take a moment and try to be open minded and adjust your attitude, because it seems your staff shared they were very unhappy working with you. That's sad that people have to work in a stressful environment!!! Due to your staff having lack of communication with you these other concerns were brought up this past Friday!

My friend had a guest pass, so I decided to try Zach's on a whim. Overall the gym was not crowded, had a variety of machines I can't find at Planet Fitness, and has a spacious room for classes. I attended two of Lauren's classes, kick boxing and body pump, which definitely provided more than enough of a workout. They were fun, challenging (depending on your level of fitness), and at the end of the class you feel better than when you started. I can't recommend Lauren enough. She's a fantastic instructor and helps you become stronger than you thought you could be. I've been considering changing gyms now.

equipment is old and they won't keep it in good working order, namely all the cable machines, one has been broken a month. the free weights are coming apart (rubber ends have been torn off and chucks of rubber missing). Carpet is soiled... all in all its an "OK" gym but it's mostly all original equipment that needs to be replaced. when I mention to managers they tell me 2 of the cable machines are only are year old...maybe true but they still "drag" pullies are broken and the cables themselves are frayed. too bad this place has so much potential...I'm out

If you're looking for a high quality, well organized, super clean gym with a modern locker room, I highly recommend Zach's gym (downtown). I visited the gym today for the first time, and I was thoroughly impressed. It's a small gym, and it has a very exclusive feel to it, but it has everything you need. I felt like I was able to do everything I wanted and needed to do, and I like to do more than just pump iron. Also, the basement location is sort of cool, especially given that you have a coffee/smoothie shop right above.
