Trolley square 24 fitness is permanently closed last Friday in November 2019 at 8 pm. This 24 fitness had an excellent maintenance man and the very best cardio machines all with fans in all most all cardio equipment. Again permanently closed. Closed permanently. This was an excellent gym.

They make everything sound so great to get you to join the gym but their customer service is VERY poor. I needed to freeze my membership a couple months ago and that took at least 4 calls. They also did not mention a membership fee when I signed up.
I just called them trying to understand the annual charge, the lady who answered wasn’t very pleasant to talk to, she couldn’t help me and gave me another number to call. On the second call I said β€œI wish you guys told me about this membership fee the day I signed up” all she said was β€œokay thank you”
So.. I am sad I’m stuck at this gym for a whole year.

Great stairsteppers. The Best treadmills . Nice customers. DirecTV also. Regretfully they are permanently closing their trolley square location in November. The very best ab machine .Excellent location near Whole foods Wells fargo. Near Trader joes. Near tmobile and Sprint I love trolley square area New cybex arc trainers Octane equipment also The very best cardio equipment. The only thing i miss is the Precor open stride. Precor open stride is precor best elliptical. Excellent television channel choices in the cardio area and in the locker room. The best cardio area second to none. Also an excellent maintenance man at trolley square 24 hour

I love this place - it's like a little sanctuary to me. I'm only giving it 4 stars because the company itself isn't responsive to their customer's needs - best illustrated in that they are closing this location.

I go late at night when there are fewer people there, so I never have to wait for equipment or machines. It's an extreme hardship to me that they will be closing, particularly because I've heard this particular location generates the most business in UT. It's conveniently located downtown, making it easy access for college students, working parents, and others. 24 Hr's other locations are not convenient, so we'll all have to take our business elsewhere.

Lovely place with very helpful staff. Super kind and friendly. 10/10 would work out at. All equipment is phenomenal. Always offer to sample hypervolt. Good deals on protein cookie. Wish they had escalator.

It feels smaller than most of their other locations. They could do some updating, but is still a good enough gym to workout.

24 hour fitness has gone down hill. I finally left after being with them for 11 years. This location in particular needs an upgrade ASAP. I’m not sure how often they clean the equipment. I was always having to clean every machine before I used it. This place is too small for the amount of people that use it. They only provide one men’s bathroom stall and the showers didn’t smell as if they were cleaned daily. The new gym I attend is only $5 more than my membership at 24 and far exceeds this place. Includes towel service and exceptionally clean facility. I should have left 24 hour fitness years ago.

While it's nice to be able to go anytime, the gym is very tightly packed and lacks some equipment I wish was available. Namely, I would like at least two more squat racks and Olympic bumper plates instead of octagonal plates. The environment is comfortable but there is a serious issue with people not re-racking their weights. The price is fair and the employees are happy and friendly. They have good deals on personal training if that's what you're into.

As a 15 year 24 Hour Fitness member, I’m soooo grateful for the new management at this Trolley Club! I’ve noticed several positive changes (such as β€œfinally” a paper towel holder in the group fitness room, so I can clean off my Yoga mat)!

This is a gym, they let you pick up weights and put them down again, if that is your goal than this is the place for you.
They let you do olympic lifts, you can even LMAO 4 plate if you want. I once saw a guy yeet the oly bar.

They are also super understanding, my girlfriend had surgery and they refunded a month membership and put us on hold, no questions asked.

I mean I don't get why this only has 3 stars or something, for real. There is literally nothing wrong with this gym. And they're open 24/7 so you can come at 3:00am.

I’m here at 4am after getting an online pass for three days.

It doesn’t say it anywhere in the website or after you get the pass but that pass is only Valid from 6am to 10 pm. (WATCH OUT) Extremly shady advertisement but they don’t tell you until you get there.

Then I tried to sign up for a memebership but I can’t get a tour of the equipment they have I just have to sign up without inspecting the facilities because the front desk can’t leave.

I asked if I can do a quick walk around before I buy, but wasn’t allowed.

They would rather have a bad review than a happy customer.

NOT VERY GOOD WHEN IT COMES TO BUSINESS OR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I have been a member at 24 Hour Fitness for around 10 years now, I came to the 24 Hour Fitness with my friend and we were requested a free trial pass as I have received for other friends in the past. I've brought in a lot of people who have tried out 24 Hour Fitness and loved it. The gentlemen at this particular location said that it would cost my friend $15 for a day pass and that they do free days on Friday. Very disappointed in the customer service, I will not be coming to this location again, and definitely advise anyone who lives in the area not to get a membership here.

Do not join. I was a paying member for 10 years. I cancelled and 24 hour continued to take money from my card for almost 2 years. When I asked them to refund the money, they told me no. Apparently they get to steal from you and it's your "personal responsibility" to make sure they don't. Aside from the monthly fees they stole from me, there were multiple other fees, totaling hundreds of dollars. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

The staff here is SUPER nice! Decent gym, gets really busy the closer it gets to 5pm. Good variety of equipment, lots of cardio machines, but a limited number of squat racks, some machines, and cable handles. I think most of the 2Β½lb. plates made their way out of there. Just have a few options and variation in your routine and you'll be fine. Plate weights and other items have a tendency to not be reracked or put back when finished, but I think that's more of a patron thing than on the staff.

This has been my go-to gym for several years. Sometime in the last few months they have started cranking music in the workout area, including advertisements for workout related things. It’s so echo-y and loud you can’t hear your own music you’re listening to on your headphones. If you look around 99% of people have their own headphones on. I’ve asked several times if it could be turned down and every employee says they’re not allowed. Feels like a communist era re-education camp where you’re forced to listen to their garbage. I’ll be going to a new gym once my membership is up

I actually don't mind the gym itself or most of the employees, but I had an issue while at this gym and then with the company itself that makes it only worth 1 star for me. I was in SLC for 3 months for work and signed up for a membership. I was told there were no annual fees and that I just had to pay for the first and last month's dues, then cancel after the second month to avoid any extra charges. I did exactly as I was told and went into the front desk at this location and told one of the workers that I wanted to cancel. He said OK and jumped on the computer for a couple minutes and said he cancelled the membership. I asked him if I needed a confirmation paper or anything and he said no. I asked him again if I was going to get anything to confirm it and he said no I don't need anything because he already cancelled it. Two months down the road (one month after what was supposed to be my final month of dues) I check and I have been charged both for another month and another 50 dollars for annual dues. I immediately call to say it was an error and explain my story and they said they can't do anything about it, but they will cancel it now. I argued with them that I had already cancelled it and they asked if I had any proof, to which I responded no because they guy said I didn't need it. After much arguing I finally got them to officially cancel the membership and refund the monthly dues portion, but they refused to refund the $50 dollar annual dues because they "didn't have any proof that I had actually tried to cancel the membership before 3 months". I asked how I was supposed to show proof if their own employee was the one that straight up lied to my face about cancelling the membership and they just said they didn't know, but it was against their policy. I called a few times to argue since business practices like this infuriate me, but according to them they couldn't refund it due to their "policies". Fortunately I am OK without the $50, but I lost all respect for any business like this. I was previously a member for almost 7 years while I lived in other states and had great experiences, but now i highly doubt I will ever join another 24 hr gym again, and I am actively telling everyone I know about my experience there whenever I can. I highly recommend keeping a close eye on your account if you decide to join here since they have untrustworthy employees and shady business practices.

I am surprised by the negative reviews about this gym! I have been a member of multiple gyms throughout the Salt Lake Valley over the past 15 years. I have a good idea of when gyms are in good shape or not and for the last 2-3 years I have been going to 24 at Trolley exclusively. My experience has been great! The front desk staff has always been friendly to me and greats me with a smile. The fitness class instructors are AMAZING. Seriously. Every class I have taken has been great. I specifically love the step classes on Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings as they are very challenging physically and mentally. I have an extensive background in dance, and these classes keep me on my toes! The yoga is also great. I am amazed at how they can transform the space into a cozy yoga studio from a high energy class. As for the personal trainers, I can personally vouch for Danny (who I trained with for 25 sessions back in 2015). Danny is extremely knowledgeable about about the body and gives you his undivided attention. I work as a massage therapist and was impressed with his knowledge of common muscle imbalances. As for the equipment, I have never had a problem with any of the equipment I have used. They are all well maintained. I have been to gyms in the past where the equipment is not, and it makes a huge difference. I also love that this gym has TRX stations to use, and plenty of weighted balls and BOSU balls. As for the bathroom and locker room, it has always been cleaned and maintained. No complaints here! The only thing I would change would be the parking situation. Although it is free, it can be a tad scary driving up to the second level if someone else is coming down, or walking down. It makes me a tad nervous. But that is the buildings responsibility, not the gym. Also, this gym is a tad smaller because it is a 24-hour sport location, but there is still plenty of room to workout.

This place is a funk-nasty joke full of screamers and weight-droppers. There are signs posted about NOT blowing out each other's eardrums, but the staff does nothing to enforce it. No paper towels in the bathroom and the place could use a good cleaning. And good luck when you're overcharged (and you will be) -- management is never onsite and won't call you back. Join City Creek. It's double the price but oh-so worth it!

For you military guys living in SLC (or anyone with out of state IDs): The free pass is only good if you have a local ID. Military IDs are NOT accepted. The fine print on the free pass says, "Photo ID required. Local Residents only," and I have an apartment in SLC. Nowhere does it say that you need a Utah ID. Maybe the staff at the time just wasn't knowledgeable enough.

2 stars for convenience, but I'll find another place.

I'm disappointed by these bad reviews on here. It's a gym people. If you're put off by them trying to convert your FREE 3 day pass into a membership you're living life with the wrong expectations.

For the guy who got a great deal at CostCo for a prepaid membership - it says RIGHT on your purchase that you will get regular gym pricing after the term. Why on earth you didn't just go get another CostCo membership is beyond me.

The gym staff are not for concierge services. They're there to let you in and sell you add-ons. For the record I've going to this location for 2 years, I go 5 times a week and the staff has been nothing short of awesome.

This is the cleanest most well cared for gym I've ever seen. It's like the staff is trying to win the 24 HR Cleaning Games. If only the members would re-rack their weights AND STOP USING THE SQUAT RACKS for your nonsense magazine circuits.

Not a very good experience at all! I went to 24 hour fitness to redeem a 3 day trial and was basically forced to get a gym membership by the time I walked out. I like it at first, but after two months, was not enjoying any classes or the equipment. The body pump class was always so full and no early morning classes were available. When I decided to cancel my gym membership, all the sudden there were all kinds of hoops to jump through to get it done. Have to cancel in person. Manager wasn't in for the entire weekend so I had to come back Monday. Manager was busy, had to wait. Gym membership was finally canceled and then that same day an ANNUAL FEE that I did not know about when I signed up in the first place came out of my credit card and I was told that it would not be refunded because it would have come out anyway. Hidden fees make me mad!

"To redeem your 30-day pass, just print or show this email to our club staff."

Apparently, I missed the part where showing the club staff the email meant get barked at by the indignant girl who seemed to think I was trying to sneak in. Perhaps this staff should learn how to talk to human beings and act more like adults and less like ignorant children.
