They continue to bill me for my families and I membership even though due to the Covid19 they are closed. They have been closed for over a month and still withdraw from my bank. 24hr fitness is not customer oriented at all. I had been a member here for many years starting back in 2009. Today I am touring local fitness facilities to see which on works best. Here is this afternoons impression of Sandy 24 hour:
I walked in to the front counter as the only employee in sight was helping a gentleman. I was not acknowledged but no big deal and I continued to wait as he played with the computer for a few more minutes. I then said to the employee that “I am out gym shopping this morning, do you mind if I look around while you finish helping this gentlemen?” The employees response was simply “not with that drink in your hand”. Wow, that is not how I want to start a new relationship with a business. You turned a customer away because I had a sealed juice in my hands.

Obviously you don't check the building to make sure everyone is gone before locking the building.

This gym is my happy place. They are so wonderful here. The equipment could use a tuneup sometimes but the free weights are always excellent! Plenty of cardio equipment and doesn't get too busy most of the time. Gotta love the 24 hour access and the staff here is unbeatable. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Well, something has changed in the past few months. The hours here are no longer “24-hours” as the name implies, which is understandable, but I’m sitting here during posted business hours and they are locked up and shut down. They also shut down their kid care service, and as a result, many patrons have left this gym. Who has a daily babysitter? Now, I know these changes are from “higher up” but it’s hurting this location directly. They need to get this sorted out or they will continue to lose more customers. It’s too bad, this was the one gym in the area that really stood out.

I arrived at the location and Joel greeted me warmly. I told him I was new to the area and was considering joining. Joel put me at ease and walked me through the facility. Afterwards, he was very patient in explaining the various membership options to me and suggested which plan might best suit me. There was no upsell or pressure. I did sign up that day. Joel also explained to me about the family add on option, which turned out to be great, as I was able to add my teenage daughter onto my membership. Thanks Joel!!

This place is never clean. The locker room is beyond unsanitary. The pool are and hot tub lack maintenance and are disgusting.

The basketball court is always reserved by people who pay extra. Be prepared to get kicked out by volleyball players who have it reserved for months at a time.

The staff works incredibly hard to create this gym into the best place to work out possible! They have struggled with YEARS of mis-management, and are turning things around. The pool area is completely renovated, they have the widest selection of weight lifting equipment, and all amenities are included in the monthly dues. It's the best value gym you can ask for.

I love this gym and always get in a great workout. Compared to other gyms, I am never waiting for equipment as they are usually too packed for my liking. 24 has plenty of equipment and options. This is a great community that I have developed friendships due to staff knowing members names and making it feel like a second home. Staff is always accommodating and willing to suit ones needs. Manages Joel and Alexis have been amazing in all areas especially with their professionalism and knowledge with their fitness expertise. The gym is always clean and tidy. Free weights are always racked and accessible for use. Highly recommend 24.

I've been a member of this gym for 25 years, and until recently been very satisfied. Now that "corporate headquarters" dictates the music, the equipment, and supposedly even the temperature, not so much. Other Utah facilities are kept much cooler. Staff are accommodating, but high turnover means they can't always help with problems. Always too warm, but especially in spring before air conditioning starts. The piped "music" is pretty annoying, so bring your own or earplugs! Since installing all new exercise equipment, the television soundsystem through the equipment connections is only operational on the corporate advertising in-house station. The others are close captioned. Otherwise, fairly clean and well equipped. Never overly busy and lots of equipment, pool, basketball court, friendly clientele and staff.

Wife called about some suspicious charges and was answered by an extremely rude manager calling himself Steven and saying he's been in his position for the past 5 years. Our family has been going to this location for over 5 years and him being the manager was news to us considering we went in less than 6 months ago to put a hold on her membership. He told us that it's our responsibility for the fees that emails were automatically sent out. The last email she got from them was her welcome letter. We will be taking our business elsewhere to a place without such shady business practices.

Had a similar experience with an unhelpful desk associate. I had called ahead of my vacation to this location to make sure someone would be at the gym to help me with visitors pass at 5am when I normally trained. I was assured there’s always someone available to help members and guests. Upon arriving the gentleman at the desk told me that they don’t allow guests until 6am. He seemed to have zero interest in being helpful and zero empathy towards the fact that I just woke up at 4am to specifically make it to the business he represents. Not even an “I’m sorry you were given the wrong info...” It’s a little frustrating to be told one thing, make the effort and now not be able to get my workout in.

Convenient hours (obvious from the name) and mostly good staff. But the management shortcomings are apparent from some pretty bad maintenance issues, particularly in the men's shower facilities (can't speak for the women's). For example, after years of spotty functionality, where it was common that almost half were completely inoperable, they now all "work" but with water pressure inadequate for the shower heads used, so that water dribbles rather than showers out.

I've had a membership at 24-Hr. for about 8 years and been to several different locations in Utah and California. Unfortunately, the maintenance problems seem pretty commonplace, which is the main reason I stopped going for almost a year.

I'd hoped difficulties with renewing their lease at the Sandy location in mid 2015 would produce some noticeable improvements, but as of the time of this writing (Oct., 2016) they still have a lot of things that need work. For example, just getting a swimsuit spinner to extract the water and found at both alternative gyms I've been to, would be a big leap forward for them.

They've also added children's swim instruction for competition with the use of the pool. As another indication of their poor management, they seem clueless as to when the instruction will happen, so you'd best call ahead if you're thinking of using the pool.

Let’s see. Cables are shredded and that leads to a very dangerous exercise experience. They take forever to get replaced. Let’s say you want to play basketball. Oh nope. You can’t. Because they rent the basketball court out occasionally. Let’s say you want to swim some laps or sit in the hot tub. Nope. Can’t do that either. Swim lessons going on all the time! You’re paying full price for amenities that you can only use half the time. No discount for you or anything during those months. You can easily tell that this gym has horrible management. There is new front desk people every other week working there. And I’ve been coming here a long time and very frequently so I’m not making stuff up. It’s so bad at this 24hr that even the clocks all have the wrong time! And they are all wrong in different times from eachother! It’s a small thing I know but that is what makes it a big issue as well. Paper towels to clean machines are constantly out and not refilled. Cleaning spray bottles often times don’t work. I once told a front desk lady that a machine was broken and she replied with “and I’m supposed to fix it?” It was sarcastic. I could tell she was playing. But she definitely wasn’t going to do anything about it either. The shower by the hot tub was out for like 5 months. Just stuck on with a heavy leak and couldn’t turn the water on higher. So water just wasted and wasted. And people just kept getting in the hot tub after working out without showering because the shower was broke. Ew. This place could be so awesome but the higher ups are just pinching pennies and don’t care about their members. That’s why everyone is switching to vasa. Don’t waste your money here unless the get stuff figured out. Soon as my year is up I’m out of here. Hope this helps you save a buck or 2.

this is a gym that you can get in and get out without having to wait for equipment or have to worry about a large crowd. only thing about this location is it is dirty and the machines seems to get broken often. kids care is amazing and one older gentleman who mans the front desk is very professional. everybody else seems to have their own agenda and is on their phones, no politely greeting you.

Friendly staff, but terrible maintenance. More than half the stair machines are broken at any given time and more than half of the treadmills are in poor working order or completely broken. There's a stall in the women's restroom that's been out of order for a year. I was told 3 years ago when I signed up for the membership that they were getting all new cardio equipment, never happened.

*Update* New cardio equipment which is great. Still empty spots to add more machines, but all the machines I like to use are new and in working order now!

Took 3 days just to sign up, kept coming back to get a membership but they had to go through 3-4 staff members to figure it out. Even buying a shirt from there took 15m and three employees. first I want to say as a health club owner I understand what customer service should be like. my experience at this location was pitiful and disgusting.. I'm from Arizona here for my Sons funeral on Saturday. I needed a workout to help clear my mind. the lady at the desk wasn't the nicest and didn't really care why was here she just wanted a $20 day fee or $50 for the week. really??
so the manager can out of his little hole to speak with me. I explained why I'm here. no sympathy at all and said the same thing. I said I'm only here for the day can't you let it slide for one time. he said no it's $20 for the day or 50 for the week. BS..
a new member came in to train and over heard our conversation and said can I get him in with me as my friend? they rejected it.
so I went down the street to Thryve fitness explained my situation. Kelly the front desk gave me a pass for free while I'm here and was so sorry for my loss. as I left she ran up to me and said "I don't know the details but I'm so sorry. and me a thank you card with my name on it giving me her condolences.
that is how you treat people with respect and excellent customer service. But when you have young punks as managers that's what you get guess. To the manager I hope you learn something from this. I will never recommend this location.

I belong to a few gyms and I can say I do prefer 24 over the rest.... However what irritates me is that 4 years ago I dropped the 150' dumbell and it broke. Now that being said I didn't drop it but let it go from about knee length down, and over time they get lose and eventually break because of wear and tear. Soo... 4 years later they still have not replaced it!!! Not only that but now a 140' , 130, 120, and other dumbbells are missing because they are not fixing them. I love everything else about this gym except they don't replace their equipment which I believe my monthly fee should cover.

Been coming here for a couple of years now. I was told and assured that new cardio equipment was on the way when I signed up. Multiple treadmills and stair masters are always broken down and the ones that are functioning don't function properly (example: can't maintain speeds over 6.0, do not incline or cant read heart rate to utilize different work out settings). Ive paid my yearly maintenance fees and brought up these problems to multiple employees and managers and we are still dealing with the same issues literally years later... The staff is nice and always listen but zero action by the company is taken. Weight equipment is sufficient. The bathrooms however are ignored as well.

Clean place and friendly environment. However, the basketball court is the worst compare with other facilities in the valley. The lights are really old and dark make us really uncomfortable to play with. Besides, hoops are loose for about 6 months, and never been fixed . Emailed and phoned manager couple times, the answer is "the bulb is wayn too expensive, and can be replaced only when it is totally out, there is nothing they can do now. But the hoop is an easy fix.....". You know what, another bulb is out for more than 1 month now, it is still hanging out there, and the hoops are still bouncing. Highly NOT recommended.

This location is the most clean 24 hrs Fitness location. Over all the gym isn't bad for the price. The staff are very friendly and so are the management. This location can get busy but not crowded. I like to use their dry sauna, and for those who enjoy taking laps at the pool, there is one available for you. Today I bought a drink at a vending machine, my drink didn't fall so I told front desk person. Was this helpful?

The men's locker room is disgusting - the shower stalls are always in need of repair, the whole room smells terrible, and it seems that it's rarely cleaned. The pool is a joke. Nice open and spacious lay out. The high ceilings make it a nicer place to work out. It's better than the cramped and dark feeling at the Jordan landing location. Even during peak hours there is plenty of space and available machines. The dimple dell park right outside is a nice alternative to the treadmill to get cardio done. -1 start because the bathroom could use some work...the toilet drips water and can get your backside wet

Terrible customer service, facility is extremely old and outdated. It's way too dark and the kids area is disgusting and creepy!! Pool and locker rooms are always dirty. Word keeps spreading this place is closing and Honestly should just be scratched. Even the employees signing us up were not sold on the gym and our trainer left half way through to a "better place". Read reviews and you'll realize most everyone in the country that reviews 24 agrees they are extremely difficult to work with when needing to cxl or get a refund for unused months. I guess one thing they are good at is stealing your money lol:) They really need to bring themselves in this century and follow the model of more modern and successful gyms around them. Only tried it out a month but wont be going back that's for sure! Don't get sucked in...so many better choices around!

Don't use the exercise equipment much but the pool is pretty good, but if you're using the steps to get in be careful as they're rather wobbly. Outside of that the pool is clean. I use a water iPod and have no trouble with listening to the music. The women's showers are clean and well maintained although the water pressure varies. I'm a senior and enjoy the fact that it's convenient and open on Sunday's too.

I might be spoiled because I'm used to the 24 hour fitness gyms that offer free towels, has more weigh resisting machines, lockers that come with free locks, pools that aren't closed down and bathrooms that are clean but this gym from even the look of it before you go in looks sketchy, doesn't offer towels, the bathroom is just old and needs an upgrade. I usually don't write bad reviews but I think I owe it to the public. After printing up a free day membership offered by 24 Fitness's web site I headed over. I got there and a cheesy fellow came out who claimed to be the "manager" and said it would be 20.00 per day to use the gym-because I was not living in the State of Utah, and because I was only visiting. I told him I felt this was a "bit of bait and switch", and he offered no alternative. I promptly left and went up the street to: Life Centre Athletic Club and paid a modest 8.00 guest pass fee, having learned my lesson. All this "manager" had to do was remedy the situation, he offered nothing, hence the poor review.

I went to check it out and the poor attitude of the kid at the front desk practically had me running back to my current gym. I did not feel welcome there. We will not be switching anytime soon. On the plus side, the facilities looked nice.

This is the dirtiest club ever. The showers are disgusting, the sauna is poorly maintained the benches are old and broken down, the tile in the steam room is rotten. There is mold on the walls in the swimming area. I had been a member there since they first opened.Customer service from corporate offices is remarkably poor. The only saving grace for this club is the friendly staff at the club.
