This place looks better than it is managed. It acts more like a city rec program demanding parents volunteer for meets when we already pay a fortune for a subpar program. There are better gyms out there and worth the money, just not this one. Rather than address my concerns, the owner posts this is a fake review. This is not a fake review, D.C. If you stopped requiring parents to help with meets, that is good news. I hope this means you will be working to improve everything else.

My daughter has been doing gymnastics at Areté for six years. They have taken her from a beginner to level 10. They are great coaches and know their stuff. They motivate without yelling or intimidation. I had an older daughter at a different local gym before this one, and we're much happier with Areté.

Our daughter does gymnastics here and really enjoys it!

The only downside to this place is they don't let you in to watch your kids do the activities. You go in a smelly, dirty room with other parents that all sit on their phones while trying to watch their kids on these small TVs via security cameras. I opt to wait in my car or go do something else while I wait. Hard pass on the parents waiting room. 🫤

Signed my kid up for trial of parkour class. There was little individual guidance and age group diverse from 5 yr old too short and inexperienced for course to high school and tall could step over obstacles. Viewing for parents is ina room with everyone watching a room camera, hard to see those in back of gymnastics mat area.

La Profesora de mí hijo es excelente, me encanta como enseña, varía los ejercicios y el aprende y se divierte mucho. Siempre está esperando que llegue el miércoles para ir. Comienzan los niños desde los 18 meses. La resepcionista es muy amorosa y te avisa cosas solo en caso de necesidad, no te molesta para nada. Right this second I have mixed thoughts. The 2 coaches I met that tried to help me to get my son to join back in seemed good. But I dont like how it was set up. I don't know if it is because of covid or just the way they do things. And after we left I found out that is why my son had a heard time. I was not able to walk my sons back or in to the area. My son said it was a big group. He did not understand what was going on or where to go or what to do while they from what I guess were waiting for the area the needed to be available. Then the viewing area is 2 smaller tv one for the whole big gym one for a smaller room. Mafe it a little harder to really watch as well as my son was expecting it to be able to still see me. And that overwhelmed him. So not bad just still unsure.

My son loves his coaches and team mates at Arete. We had tried another popular gym in the area, but were dissatisfied with the over-crowding in the gym and lack of attention by many of the coaches. The boys coaches at Arete have been much more attentive and kind. They help the boys improve their skills, but do not make practices overly stressful or pressure-filled. We are very happy. My kids have been in gymnastics here for years! We've tried a few other gyms a little closer to home, but always switch and make the drive because the coaching and the programs are so much better. And I love the discipline they teach the kids. And the other kids and parents are the best too - it's like my son's 2nd family. We love ARETE!

If your child is serious about gymnastics, this is not the gym for you. Some decent coaches but the business is not run well and communication is poor. Once we switched both of my kids thrived at their new gym. They have just one athlete that I know of that they trained that has made it to the collegiate level and she even left years ago to train in Texas.

My daughter has been a gymnast at Arete Gymnastics for almost 7 years and I thought I would share my experience for those of you who are looking for a gym for your children. We have been to 2 other gyms prior to moving to Arete and all I can say is I wish I would have had her there from the beginning. The coaches care so much for the kids individually and their personal success. They are vested in each one and because I have been there for a while now I have been able to see the genuine care they have and true love for gymnastics. They know what they are doing and how to do it. The environment is positive and encouraging and the place to be if you want a positive and successful gymnastic experience for your child. I do wish I would have found them sooner but I am so grateful that we are there now.

My son essentially was kicked out because we switched our daughter from Arete to a another nearby gym.

In their email, they mention that this dismissal is due to the competing gym having a policy that states children of the same family can't attend other gyms. We read the other gym's policies, no where is this mentioned. We asked the other gym over the phone and they said this is simply not true.

After we switched, someone told us that the gym we switched to has placed many gymnasts by scholarship and that in their opinion, "Arete is only concerned with finding the next Deanne Sosa".

I can't say if this is completely true, but I can say that our experience seemed to reflect a petty attitude towards a competing gym.

I'm glad we switched and I hope this was all, somehow, a giant misunderstanding.

I started bringing my girls here a month ago and they have already made so much progress! Even my 4 year old who couldn’t do much when we first came is now doing cartwheels! When we came in for an evaluation, I told the manager what I was hoping for in terms of class levels and scheduling, and she made it happen. My girls love coming here and I love watching them excel. I only wish we had found it sooner!

I have 2 daughters on the optional team at Arete. They love their coaches and teammates. The environment is safe and family friendly. The facility is much bigger than most gyms, allowing the gymnasts more turns on the equipment. The coaches-Dan, Jana, and JenYev are always positive and respectful. Their attention to detail and technique is outstanding...and it shows in my daughters' meet scores. I would highly recommend Arete gymnastics!

I have two children, both at Arete Gymnastics. They both absolutely love their time there. My oldest is on a competitive team and my youngest is a Level 1. The prices are much less than other gyms around and the coaches are friendly and knowledgeable. The environment is peaceful and family oriented. My Daughter is also always looking forward to competition season. The office ladies are very helpful in answering questions, and Sandy even welcomes my children each week with a huge :) My children are always wanting to stay longer... I love it here!!!

My daughter Trista is an 11 year old HOPE'S gymnast that will be testing Junior Elite this coming January (2016). Her coaches Dan and Jana, have been amazing and supportive in this difficult, but rewarding journey my Trista has chosen to take. It is amazing how they have been able to motivate her and build her confidence to a level that makes her look forward to practice everyday. She was ready to give up on her journey until we found Arete. With Dan and Jana, as well as, her amazing and supportive team mates, I am seeing Trista's talent develop to be the gymnast she is capable of being. If you want your daughter to be all that she can be in this sport, especially if her aspirations are to be an Elite gymnast, then Arete Gymnastics is the only gym in Utah for you.

My little brother here has tumbled here for years and he loves every bit of it! Gymnastics and tumbling have taught him not only how to love having an active lifestyle, but a special kind a discipline as well. I have been to many different gymnastics facilities and have finally found a home. I haven't seen any gym that cares more about the needs of the kids and the families. It wasn't untill I started to talk to all the other families that I realized how many families are getting help from this gym through scholarships, trade and opportunities to work for tuition. I find it refreshing that a campany is so willing to work with every deserving family on an individual basis so that every child has an opportunity regardless of personal circumstances.
