Our daughter, Mya, has been going to Desert Edge Dance Company for nearly a year now and absolutely loves all of her teachers. She’s excelling quickly and truly enjoys every moment of dance. Joining the competition team has given her not only growth in skill, but also a sense of unity and friendship with the girls in her group.

We made the switch from a local Rec Center last year, where she was struggling to progress and had even wanted to give up on dance. Desert Edge took her under their wings and gave her the confidence, training, and excitement she needed to thrive. I only wish we had found them sooner—but they are helping her catch up and reach her goals. We couldn’t be happier with the experience!

We signed our daughter up for the beginner dance classes, and it has been such a wonderful experience! The class is fun, engaging, and full of energy, which keeps the kids excited to come back each week. I wanted to find a fun class for my daughter to do that could be fun but also a little bit of dance too! We started here at Desert edge dance Company a few weeks ago and my daughter LOVES it! The instructor is so sweet and great with all the girls, I can only imagine how difficult it is to wrangle multiple littles at once! This is my daughter’s third year of dance at DEDC and she loves it. We always look forward to parent observation days and their Christmas and Spring Concerts where we get to see the cute dances they’ve practiced all year. We also love Ms Britney, she is the best. She’s great at making the students feel comfortable especially when they are a little shy. Now our youngest started dancing here and she has learned so much already.

I was a dancer my while life and I started my daughter at Desert Edge when she was four. The teachers and staff are very nice and professional. They offer a diverse range of styles with elite dance teams. The studio is in a great location for me so I can run to the store while my daughter dances. The concerts are so fun and cute with absolutely beautiful costumes! I have recommended to several friends because it's an overall solid dance studio. We have loved desert edge dance! I’ve had two of my girls do their combo classes. I love the way they do their recitals. They split them into two groups so you don’t have to sit through a 3 hour recital for two/three dances. We love getting to perform at the dickens festival as well.

I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel the need to raise awareness for other parents considering Desert Edge Dance Company. We've had our two girls dancing there for several years, and initially, the communication was good. Our youngest, who is six, has had some behavioral issues. We worked out a plan with the director and thought everything was going smoothly since we only received one call over several months.

However, at the end of the year, things took a turn for the worse. Our youngest got injured and couldn’t participate in the final dance concert. We informed the director that she couldn’t dance per the doctor’s orders but would be fine for the dance parties the following week.

We were told by another coach the night of the final dance concert after we asked about our girls progress. We were told it's understandable that at six years old, dancing for several hours after school can be challenging, and short attention spans are normal. The coach also expressed that she wanted our girls back next year.

On the day of the party, the director called to check on our daughter, but the conversation quickly made us feel that she wasn’t welcome. We had to directly ask, and then the director unloaded about supposed ongoing issues, none of which had been communicated to us previously.

We travel from Hurricane and spend hours in the parking lot twice a week to fulfill our commitment, only to find out about these alleged problems at the end of the year.

After speaking with other parents and coaches who are no longer with the company, we found they shared similar sentiments about poor communication and a cliquish mentality among the director and select coaches and parents.

On a positive note, shout out to Cassidee and Kaylie for their help and support. You both are the best, and we’ll miss you.

My daughter has been attending Desert Edge for six years now. She loves it. All teachers are organized, fun, talented, uplifting. I could go on and on. Competition season is always a blast. Always organized and exciting for the kids. The kids not only grow as dancers, but as people. They learn teamwork and a work ethic. I can't say enough about this studio.
