As a certified personal trainer who has explored many gyms, I found Evolution Fitness lacking in key areas. There’s no real stretching space, no foam rollers, and the mats are low quality. The “7-day free pass” was misleading since they required a card on file, so I only got 3 days. The gym is clean with newer machines and a sauna, but it feels small, very quiet, and the red/yellow color scheme is off-putting. Overall, not terrible, but I wouldn’t go back.

Pros: Very clean, good equipment, and knowledgeable trainer

Cons: Overpriced memberships, poor computer system for scheduling and record keeping, no family memberships, will not grandfather in prices when prices go up, no direct communication to current customers when rates increase, no customer account website to monitor remaining number of training sessions, will incorrectly tell you the number of remaining training sessions (on multiple occasions) then charge you at the current price which is higher than my contract price when you go over the number of sessions they incorrectly told you were remaining.

Over the last 2+ years, I purchased (in cash up front) a total of 100 training sessions (which was $4,000+ for 2 packages of 50 sessions each) and had a membership for the first 2 years (also paid in cash up front). I had to drop the membership because they wouldn't grandfather in my original price of $16.99(ish) per month. I believe I was quoted around $40-$45 per month so I decided to stop the membership. The personal training sessions went up to $59 per session (or about $3,000 per 50 session package) so I opted to not purchase another package of training sessions. I did continue with the personal training sessions since I had already paid for the package.

This is a great place to work out if you work there, your parents are rich, if you are a doctor, lawyer, or otherwise independently wealthy. This is also a great place for personal training if you can get past the scheduling issues, are okay with not being able to know the correct number of remaining training sessions, and okay with paying extra when it was their error and not yours.

Worked out here for several weeks during vacation in Utah, best gym experience I’ve ever had bar none. Has every possible weight/machines any one would need, all of worked perfectly. It is THE CLEANEST gym I have ever been to and it’s not even a close second. Super uncrowded, especially when I went (around 9am-10am) and is open 24/7 if that’s your kind of thing. Staff also was awesome. Can tell this place has a great culture and would absolutely recommend anyone in Layton/Kaysville to spend the extra money and come to here as opposed to Vasa/Eos/whatever other gym if you’re lifting consistently.

I have been working with Cameron at
Evolution Fitness for the past couple of years and I can honestly say that it is been one, if not the single best investment I've made in my personal health. I work with many other trainers and nutritionists in the past and haven't gotten the same results. Cameron understands the science and the data far more than anybody I've ever met. It has allowed me to reach fitness goals I hadn't thought possible. The facility is incredible, the staff is amazing, and I've never had less than a fantastic experience in the gym.

I signed up for personal training and signed up for 1 lesson a week but my trainer kept canceling or rescheduling last minute, and about halfway through my 50 sessions they had cancelled about 10 sessions that I was still charged for. So I decided I wanted to cancel and despite having so many canceled by the trainer they told me I would still have to pay for the rest of the sessions.

Not worth it. If you are brand new and know nothing about weightlifting it's okay. Even then I'd recommend vasa or eos instead. Trainers are really nice but didn't know how to help me further my weight lifting since I wasn't a beginner. It was like paying for a workout buddy instead of a trainer.

The gym has many equipment and features. You would have to go in person to get a good grasp. It’s a nice gym. But where they fall short is their child care. Their workers do the minimum for child care. It seems they lack experience with infants. Today, as we left the gym and picked up our son, he had pooped himself. And it was neglected and we weren’t told until we finally held him. And the poop had run up his back and got on his back. We pack essentials including diapers and baby wipes but this was a horrible experience and our son won’t be in their child care room again.

This was a great place I'm sure it still is. The trainers were amazing. Didn't like having to use my first training session so the owner could motivate and encourage me to keep going. During peak hours it's out of control and no room. The people there are friendly. I think they are on the pricey side but worth it. Way better than vasa. It's what a gym should be with people who want to help you succeed.

I gave my credit card information to one of the representatives to update ny information on file because my CC number changed. They updated it in the system and then transferred me to another employee who literally did the same thing....?

I get a phone call a week later saying there's a problem with my account. Guess what? The payment never went to my account.

I put in my card information through the automatic payment system and it was all like "thank you for your payment."

I called the gym today and they said that I still had a past due balance. I'm so confused because I gave my credit card information to two people and the automated system...and if it's not being applied to my account, what's happening with my personal information?

We love EVO and their staff. Spenser and Maja are just what this valley needs. Their elite youth and collegiate athletic training programs are helping my kids develop for the next level and I couldn't be happier. I’d like to start off by saying this is a fantastic gym for most gym goers out there. The atmosphere is friendly and they have adequate equipment to achieve any goal you might have.

I enrolled to EVO fitness through my insurance in December of 2023. For most gyms this is met with confusion and being pushed to the side being told to call their corporate number. Despite never enrolling someone through this method they figured it out on the spot with ease. The employees here are amazing but I do have a minor gripe with their cleaning schedule. I have notice that they clean the men’s locker room around 5-6pm. I attached the stats from google of a Tuesday and 5-7pm is peak hours for the gym. I may have a poor understanding of best housekeeping practices but I feel as there is a better time to clean the locker room than peak hours. But the employees do an awesome job at keeping the gym clean. Along with the other gym goers as it is just as important for us to help keep the gym clean and organized. RERACK YOUR WEIGHTS!!! hahaha

The gym equipment here is pretty standard although rebranded retro fitness equipment. They do have rules against dropping weights which personally is a negative to me. When I first went to this gym I wrote off leg day because of the lack of leg day equipment however they really stepped up their game with leg day. They added 2 dead lift platforms with bumper plates and my favorite hip thrust machine. Now they’re free weights and new machines good but I think the rebranded machines are a little funky. They all do the job but they just have an awkward feel to me. The chest press machine bumps into my calf every rep and they have a switch system instead of the pin system I usually see at most commercial gyms. So I usually try to stay away from the machines and use their very nice free weights. They have two sets of dumbbells the standard rubber hex style and a very nice chrome metal style that is not very common and very nice.

I chose this gym because it was close to my house and my insurance covers it. What I found is a gym I can go to get away from the crowds and have a chill gym sesh. This gym is a good starting point for beginners to learn the ropes and has enough for experienced gym goers to not feel too limited by the equipment.

I have been going to Evolution since June 2022 and have loved it! I was looking for a personal trainer and found Kai on their website. She has been amazing, helpful and supportive. The gym itself is great. One thing I dislike about other gyms I’ve been to is feeling like I don’t belong there by the staff. At Evolution, I always feel welcome and don’t feel judged. Also, they have people cleaning the facility non-stop so it always feels really clean.

I called the gym to cancel my membership today due to my pregnancy and they told me my membership is "automatically renewed for the next 6 months", which means that I am not allowed to cancel it until 6 months later. I was told there's nothing they could do and I have to pay for another 150 dollars because I called too late (2 days after reviewal). Anyways my bank has helped me blocked their auto payment. For those of you who think you may cancel the membership with them anytime, be careful. It is not that flexible. they may ask you to pay for another 150 dollars, even though you are not using the gym for the next 6 months.

The owner of the gym called me in person and sincerely apologized for my customer service experience. The membership was canceled without further charge. I gave the business one star at first, but decided to change to 4 stars after our conversation. I realized the girl I spoke to the other day was newly hired and may not know how to help her customer in the best way. Hope there's improvement in future.

I always like coming here because of the management. I'm greeted every time as if I'm family. The equipment is always clean and serviced. There is a small cardio room with a big screen that shows movies while you run, bike, or walk. One recommendation would be to add one additional ab machine. That's just preference though. I really loved my experience and results with Cameron!!! I actually began following his suggestions and saw the results I wanted, just in time for me to get pregnant again. Can't say enough about this place. I have been attending this gym since September of 2015 I have lost over 40lbs, and I am at 7% body fat.
Cameron cares about his clients and wants them to succeed.

There have been some great improvements made to the equipment, new coverings on the benches, added another treadmill.
I have been to the big gyms and I don't like the atmosphere. Here people will talk to you and be friendly.

Cameron's plan works, follow it and you wont regret it! Try and find a better price for a personal trainer that includes a gym in the cost.
