This is a high bill with cheap performance studio. REQUEST A RECITAL VIDEO. No matter how many excuses or ways they spin the conversation, request a recital video!!

I paid for some of my niece's recital fees as a gift, and I was expecting to get what I paid for. First of all, the recital outfits are super cheap. The quality of the materials is very low, and the presentation is just not pretty. They also forced my niece to try on her outfit ON SITE AND WITHOUT her mother's consent or approval.

I wasn't expecting my niece to become the prima ballerina or learn the Nutcracker in one year, but I did expect her skills to match the bill.

As far as the choreography, it's sloppy. You love your baby, and everything they do is just adorable, but the purpose of signing them up for dance is to teach them skills such as discipline, coordination, and to work together as a team. They're already cute and adorable. The dance studio didn't teach them anything as the recital was a total mess. No one was coordinated, organized, or had an actual choreography built. What a waste of time.

This dance "school" will charge you top dollar and make promises of teaching your sweet angel new skills and offer exclusivity, but deliver a high bill and cheap performance.
Its an insult to parents who want to see their child thrive. It's a waste of time and money.

Love the balance of academic learning and movement. Little preschoolers are meant to move and play. My child loves coming to preschool and is always so excited to tell me about her day. Also love the opportunities to perform-- learning how to perform in front of people has helped her in so many areas, but she was able to start in this safe and familiar environment. Love seeing how much she's growing and her excitement for learning. The teachers are exceptional!

I also appreciate how communicative and informative they are on an administrative level. It's so easy to find all the information you need (weekly emails) and well in advance, and any questions are answered promptly (though rare given how easy it is to find all the information needed). I've been so impressed with the way this preschool runs from a professional level, while having a warm and friendly environment for the children.

Not worth it for Pre K dance & tumbling unless you’re needing a weekly 40 min child care. Always start 5 mins late & finish 5 mins early. Your kid will have fun but that’s because they’re messing around 90% of the time. Makes sense why parents aren’t allowed to observe.

Expressions Dance has been a great studio for my daughter who has been there since she was four. She did one year of the academy class and then three years now of the performing company and we have been so impressed with the owner, teachers, and other families. Our daughter loves dance and is learning such good technique, but also good values of being a part of a team and that she matters and is loved!

My child likes the class and thats the most important thing to me. This was her 2nd time trying preschool (first time was a different daycare). She likes it so much more this time around. The teachers were so caring and patient her first day. She gets so excited to go. I love how this school incorporates dance into their education. Love it. Thanks for taking care of my daughter 🥰

I have children who have attended both the leap n learners preschool and dance/tumbling classes. They have the best teachers. We have grown to love all those who are involved with the preschool and the regular dance classes. They work very hard to have a fun learning environment. I have messed up a few times scheduling the wrong classes or activities and have always been greeted with a happy to help attitude from everyone I have encountered. The environment is a place I feel very comfortable leaving my kids.

We have used expressions dance for classes in the past (a dance class, a tumbling class, a mixed dance/tumbling class) but my most recent child and experience, while simultaneously using other dance and gymnastics academies for similar services, made me realize I could give a heads up to others. They are one of the only dance / gymnastic places that cost a lot for recitals, pay for tickets for recitals, and make you sign a contract to have a 30 day notice for dropping. They also cost $10-$15 more a month for just their regular dance class on top of higher fees elsewhere.

If your child is quite young (toddler or preschooler) who you are signing up for extracurricular dance class, I would maybe try another school that lets you quit easier, costs less, and has a smaller recital/costume fees. I haven’t had to quit activities before with my other kids, but it became very necessary for my child as well as for the best for the teacher and class.

I understand some non refundable costs (costumes already ordered) but don’t understand additionally recital and class fees that won’t be used for us.

We have had no issues with teachers we have had and the woman who helped me while quitting was as accommodating as possible under the contract but I know if I had my daughter at another dance school, this quitting experience would have cost less and wouldn’t have involved me paying for things she isn’t participating in.

I would use expressions dance for the right situation and kid but will definitely be more careful and 100% certain before committing to them in the future.

We love Expressions Dance! Our girl's confidence has grown so much since she has been in dance and tumbling classes, and now one of her favorite things to do is to be on stage performing (something you never would've guessed a few years ago). Even when she is at home she spends most of her time practicing her tumbling moves or dancing around the house. Dance is her life and brings her the most joy. So grateful for Expressions.

They give discounts if you give a five star review so keep that in mind. I wanted to give an honest review so I bypassed the discount. My daughter goes to the Leap N Learners program. We were nickeled and dimed for everything in the beginning. We have only been able to attend one dance recital, the Halloween one, as the Christmas one only allows a few students to sign up, instead of everyone and then another one we weren’t able to attend because they changed the date after I had made sure to get off work. On field trips you MUST be able to attend with your child, so if you are working you will need to find an adult who can go with them or find alternative care as there must be a chaperone for your child, even though the teachers are present. So we will have to find alternative care for her field trip day as My husband and I both work during this time. We were also not impressed by the one dance we were able to attend.

This place is not at all about DANCE. Its all about the MONEY. They dont care what it is, they will try to squeeze money out of you for everything. Little weekend babysitting opportunities .... another way to get $$$$ I signed my child up for dance classes and then I am sent a bill for 150.00 in ADDITION to her dance class fees just for one performance on a free stage this summer that they will SELL TICKETS to. I was told they would have a recital thats why I signed her up! Nobody told me I had to fork over more money just to see what my daughter has learned! There are 25 kids in the class with one teenage instructor and they dont get any personal instruction at all. Its like paying for recess! Especially now the teacher changed! My daughter has not improved a little in dance since going. If you want your child to excel in dance or acedemics DO NOT GO HERE. Its a glorified daycare center thats only focus is on collecting money. They don't charge for the services they offer rather they create thiings to give them the money they want. Its a horrible buisiness model! A greedy practice that preys on good parents who are looking to develop their children's interests!

My child has attended both Expressions Dance and Leap N Learners for almost 5 years now and in looking back it has been one of the best choices I’ve made as a parent! The teachers are educated, experienced and truly care about each and every studen!! My little one went into kinder from here feeling excited and confident about school and has continued dancing since then. She is learning to be a great dancer being taught mixed techniques, choreography and performance skills which carry into her school and family life. Finding a school with strong technique emphasis is a big factor when choosing a dance school and I love that here it is taught as the kids develop so as to keep them confident with themselves and not comparing to one another. Each child is different and they are all beautiful dancers and Expressions knows that! I see my child challenging herself and thinking of others which I try my best to teach in our home, but I know it is taught at Expressions, this is my village! ... it is wonderful knowing that our values will also be taught when we can’t be there. My daughter has been dancing with Expressions Dance for 7 years and we have had nothing but fantastic experiences here. Not only has my daughter turned into an amazing dancer, but also an exceptional person on the inside. Usually we attend the Bountiful studio, but we've come to the Centerville studio a couple times for make-up classes. I love how helpful and caring the teachers and office staff are. They're always happy to help and answer questions. More importantly, they're always excited to see my dancer. Both of my kids (3 and 5 year olds) are in their 2nd year of dance classes at Expressions. We love the positive environment, and feel that the teachers really care about the kids and their experience with dance. We love being involved in the performances as well, and have seen a lot of positive growth in our kids' confidence because of it. Communication is great, everyone is friendly, helpful, and positive. We have danced with Expressions for 9 years. Amy Simkins, the studio director, has developed a well rounded curriculum (multiple types of dance and progression from beginning to advanced), aligned it with high expectations for students, supported it with fantastic and knowledgeable teachers, and still manages to know and care about each student and family that are part of her studio. My dancer has grown in skill and technique, but also (and more importantly) in her ability to work with a variety of people, problem solve, accept and implement feedback, push herself and feel confident enough to risk. Faculty and support staff at Expressions model the character, communication skills, social interactions, dance technique, health habits, work ethic, and open mindset that they are teaching our students. How amazing it is to have a studio and teachers that I can take my dancer to multiple days a week and know that she is learning and growing each time in addition to being genuinely cared about? We love Expressions Dance and would recommend giving Amy and her team any dancer to work with, they will grow in so many ways.

I absolutely love Expressions Dance and their teachers. My daughter has been with them for almost 3 years now and she has learned so much and they all adore her and love her. I love the small class sizes so the kids are getting the attention they need in order to learn their routines.
