Canceling membership - This company would rather lose business than allow their members to come in at a time that's convenient for them without charging more

Absolutely would not recommend. In fact the opposite. Years and years after closing my account I am still randomly being billed and those bills are sent to collections. I've gone in and cleared this up before. 9 months later get hit with another collection. This is a complete joke. Dishonest.

I went to this gym because a friend recommended it to me I went in for my first time and got a membership thinking I would use it a lot. I would keep getting charged monthly for the membership as I had forgotten I was still on the membership plan, and I have only used this gym once. I really wasn’t upset until I lost my job and didn’t have any money due to COVID-19 and I wasn’t able to pay for it anymore. I called in to cancel it but they asked me to come in and cancel it and when I did try to go in no one was in to help me out frustrated and waiting for someone to be in I just postponed it thinking they had canceled my payments. A few months later I decided to go in since the pandemic had calmed down and thought I’d be able to get assistance from an employee when I went in I had found they kept charging me and had even sent it to debt collections negatively affecting my credit score and a big charge of money still unemployed and unable to pay I asked that they stop payments as I didn’t have a job. I’m really upset with them as they do not have an email for concerns of people like me and countless others I have seen in the reviews I really wish that I hadn’t have fallen for a scam like this I would highly not recommend it as it was a very trying and stressful endeavor to try and cancel i have been through so much emotional and financial trouble and thought they would at least try and help me out during these trying times with the pandemic and being unemployed all they care about is making money no matter if it hurts people very disappointed and would hope that other people don’t fall in to this trap as it is not worth it.

Fantastic gym! Been working out here for about 3 and a half years now and it continues to get better and better. Justin and staff have done an amazing job upgrading and cleaning the place. They have tons of brand new equipment. Highly recommend this place!

Excellent place to workout! The members are very friendly and make it a very comfortable environment to workout in. As far as the staff goes, Justin has truly turned this place around! The gym has never been cleaner and more organized. The front desk area is immaculate and looks very professional when you walk in. The gym area is the cleanest I have ever seen it. Justin and his staff are constantly cleaning and making sure the gym is tidy. They don't just do a surface clean, they go to great lengths to ensure the gym is the best it can be for its members. I have seen Justin and his staff cleaning ceiling fans, wiping down mirrors, organizing equipment, and mopping floors. The staff does not sit around and do nothing. They all work hard and make good use of their time. I am incredibly impressed with what Justin has done for this gym. Keep up the solid work!

Wow! It’s amazing what a little TLC can do to improve a place. General Manager, Justin Rogers, has hit the mark! He has made huge improvements to this gym and made it an enjoyable place to workout. It is clean, organized, and continually maintained.

My wife and I enjoy working out at FF10 Farmington. Justin Rogers has made huge improvements from the cleanliness, to the layout of the gym equipment. He pays attention to detail and ensures if something is broken it gets fixed timely. We will renew for another year thanks to the hard work Justin has put in.

Back in November I came in and paid the account in full, at that time it should have been closed, while having access to the gym till that final month. I went in a few months ago because the billing company was still drafting from the account. Get refunded the for the extra charges. But they for got again to CLOSE the account. This place has been the biggest joke to work with. Manage (just one) is hardly available always in a rush out the door because he’s off at 5. I get it it’s a 24/7 gym and is only available at certain times. But come on you SHOULD ALWAYS HAVE A MANAGER AVAILABLE to talk to. Now I’m being chard $80 for the last 3 months they for got to PIF and close my account. They are the worst so far to work with. How ever while I was going there the gym was ok. No issue with equipment or the place being packed.

This gym has upgraded its facility. It's very clean and has central air. The equipment may not be exactly 2020 stuff but it suites the purpose for everything you need. Management is class. Tanning is better than Golds or VASA plus you dont have yo wait for anything. Its quiet and perfect for a real workout. You dont see pretty boys or girls modeling and flexing in the glass or everytime you walk past see somebody trying to impress you with something they really cant do. It's not VASA which is just the WalMart of gyms. There aren't hidden fees like people complained about in the past. VASA and Golds bill you constantly for every little thing and hide fees. Its located perfectly off 89 in Farmington. Easy access north and south.

I love how casual it is. It's not your typical posh gym, but provides all the basics. 24/7 access is awesome and the affordability is the best in the area. They take care off equipment and try to upholster the seats. The front desk greets me almost everyone I walk in. Awesome place!

You get what you pay for. Cheap gym was all I needed, not all the bells and whistles. For that purpose, it was a good membership. What I really disliked about this gym was how loud they played the music, even late at night. You can hear it even through your personal headphones, which is a huge no no In my opinion

Update: After moving and coming back to the gym after about a year, this gym has really gone down hill. I didnt think the aesthetics could get any worse but they have (huge dings and holes in the walls, big gaps in the wood floors, broken mirrors etc.). I didn't think they could make the gym any more crowded, but there is hardly enough space between machines to even put your weights on. And today was the kicker...they were completely out of toilet paper, the lights in the bathroom are so dim you can hardly see, and the garbage cans are always overflowing. This place needs a major remodel and to have things (like putting toilet paper in the bathroom) taken care of each day.

Previous: This gym is a great place to do your workout and the staff is friendly. They have the basic machines and and weights for you to accomplish any task, but nothing fancy that you wouldn't know how to use. They recently got some more equipment and machines which makes the gym extremely crowded and does not provide much room for workouts. The gym also has some issues with aesthetics, but that is a minor issue. These are the only 2 issues I have with this gym, but everything else is great. For $10 a month, you can't beat what this gym provides.

The new management at the Farmington Utah location is horrible. There's no effort at customer service. Trying to change or cancel a gym membership is one of the worst consumer experiences that I have ever had. There is so much misinformation given but no effort to correct or properly trained staff. Buyer beware.

While cancelling they charged me for the upcoming year's admin fee without any proration or leniency. Just reminded me that it was in the small print of the contract during cancellation. One day businesses will understand that sticking customers on the way out the door will eventually not work out in the long run. Hopefully administration will take a few moments to read my review since I paid a heavy fee for it.

In short. Fitness For 10 looks good on the surface but the name is gimmick because they write more for them into a contract.

SCAM. I have asked to canceled 3 times, they keep charging my account. Came in to cancel in person, wrote a letter to cancel. They are clearly just trying to scam at this point. Unfortunately I gave them my debit card, so it's a huge mess to remedy.... SO FRUSTRATED

After being a member at Fitness for 10 for 2 years I finally brought myself to switching gyms (now go to 'The Gym' at City Creek). I would like to give the owners some feedback in terms of what works here and what doesn't, and why I switched.

Pros: This gym is really the only one in Farmington now that 'The Gym' at Station Park is closed. It is very accessible, has incredibly friendly staff working there, and has a solid selection of weights/cardio machines. The price here is good, but not great.

Unless you're going at the 6AM rush hour, you generally have access to the machines/weights you'd like to use without waiting for anyone to finish.

In terms of price, location, and accessibility to the equipment you want to use, it's pretty hard to beat if you want to workout in Farmington.

Cons: Although your monthly cost is $10 per month, they also have a quarterly or semiannually fee that I believe was $40 per installment. Thus the real cost for access isn't the $10 as advertised. You're really in it close to $20 per month.

They do not turn on the air conditioning or it doesn't work, I honestly don't know which. If you go during the summer anytime other than early morning you will melt. Same goes for the winter, I don't know if they don't have central heating, but it gets very cold in there. Spring/Fall are fine, but Summer/Winter are quite miserable here. It kind of reminded me of working out in a sweaty, stinky, high school gym, which is fine with me because I did it in high school, but not too great when you're a working professional.

The free weights, weight machines, and cardio machines are probably 20+ years old. For the most part they work fine, but if you like working out on new equipment, this isn't your spot.

If you're a working professional and like to workout at 6AM or earlier, you're going to have to wait time to get on the machines/weights you want, or you'll have to switch your workout. This was frustrating, but not a lot you can do with the limited space in the gym.

All in all this place worked well for me for quite some time, but after another summer of sweltering heat in the gym I couldn't take it anymore. My advice to ownership is to get the HVAC working and end the extra fees. Comparable gyms in Bountiful, SLC, and Layton charge far less than you do but provide a much higher quality of facility.

I like that it doesn't have a Gold's Gym steroid feel to it. It really is a family-style gym. That being said, as a paying member, I feel that it could MAJORLY use some sprucing up. My main complaint is that it is hotter than Hades inside on a summer day and the overall circulation is just BAD. Also, any precipitation leaks through the faulty roof into buckets, as a previous reviewer stated (not an exaggeration). I go there because it's inexpensive and super close to home, but if there was a nicer gym close by that was even a bit more expensive, I would jump ship in a heartbeat.

Well I found out today was my last day here. I'm kinda bummed out by it. Fit for 10 has been great in the couple years I've been going. It's not the fanciest gym around but it certainly has everything you could need. The staff is great and friendly, they get to know you and always say hey. The kinds of folks here are great, average Joe's just trying to be healthy, no roid raging intimidating types. I truly will miss going here, it's a great gym. If you're looking to have a good place to get healthier you it's perfect for you.

I had an injury and decided to get a membership and see if the elliptical was something I could do with it. Sadly I couldn't. I paid all their up front fees and a membership fee for two months. I went in to cancel at the end of my third month before they charged me and they told me I have to pay a $54 anual maintenance fee next month even though I am cancelling now. I get the 30 day cancellation policy. I don't mind them charging me my dues, but if I cancel before that yearly fee in August is charged, it is ridiculous to have to pay a yearly fee to mantain nothing! I already paid the prorated amount of that when I signed up. So to now have to pay a whole year of it when I am cancelling is uncalled for. I think they should work with their clients so they will want to come back and not make them feel ripped off. I will never go back.

I'm giving Fit for $10 5 Stars not because it's the best gym around (certainly is not) but I find myself genuinely sad that we are moving and have to switch gyms. My husband and I have been going here for nearly 3 years and have loved it. It's basic (everything you need, nothing fancy), small (definitely more of a family feel) and awesome! Everyone is so nice and it's great to not deal with the types of people you encounter at Gold's Gym or Vasa. No one thinks they're too cool for school here. The staff is AWESOME as well as the owner. Very friendly, helpful and willing to work with you. Thanks for everything Fit for $10, we will miss you!!!

You get what you pay for here. Nothing fancy. The facility could use some sprucing up (leaky roof, old flooring, etc.). A few of the treadmills and ellipticals are in bad shape. Others need a few minor repairs. They have the basic free weights for strength training, but are light on machines. However, for $10/month it's not bad. But now with Gold's in Kaysville charging $10/month for a nicer facility with nicer equipment I wonder if FF10 will make some improvements. The only reason I haven't switched gyms is because FF10 is closer to home.

Not cool!! I cancelled all members of my family because we moved to Seattle go seahawks) I followed the rules and sent the written letter. They continued to charge me for my youngest child. By the time I caught it they had charged me another renewal fee. Since he was INCAPABLE of returning any of the fees I ate it all!!! NOT COOL! Unprofessional.

I have never had a worse gym. I called to cancel my membership at the end of October, they told me it was canceled, and then an $83 charge was put on my card. I called and they told me it was my fault, that I never canceled my membership, and there is nothing they are going to do about the charge, and to expect to be charged again next month. Needless to say, I would NEVER recommend this gym to anyone! Now I'm supposedly out over 80 bucks because they keep adding more charges onto my card.
