I have two girls that have grown up going to this gym. I can’t recommend this place enough. Their skills improve every year and it’s an amazing safe place!

I love this gym and the owner. It has done wonders for my grandkids. Extremely affordable gymnastics program ran by very knowledgeable coaches.

I really want to give this place a good review because my little guy loves gymnastics but each time we come I find myself growing concerned. I don’t like to complain in reviews but I know it’s important to share so others can get a good idea of what it’s like. I honestly hope this review will help the gym improve and help other parents who are considering bringing their littles here.

First the good:
- The instructor is amazing. She does a great job working with the kids when she gets the chance.
- The Disney music that is usually played in the mornings is nice and more age appropriate for littles than other music that’s been played in the past. It’s nice when it isn’t so loud.
- The payment policy is nice in that you’re not stuck in a yearly contract & you can come and go from month to month so if you have a busier month you can essentially just take a month off and come back when you can.

Now for what needs improvement:
- Class sizes are way too big: there are WAY too many kids per class. Like 20 preschoolers for the one instructor. She doesn’t have time to help each child individually and every time we come, my child is butt in line by other kids and barely gets the chance to do anything. The instructor is too busy to notice him most of the time, to no fault of her own. I’ve tried to come help my own child through the routines so he can participate safely but the instructor doesn’t want parents on the floor (understandable).
- Evening classes are chaotic: We had to come to an evening makeup class once and there were literally three or four classes running simultaneously in the small space. There was standing room only for parents and it was so loud with instructors and parents and kids trying to yell over the music & it just felt like mass chaos. Kids from the different classes were running into each others space and it was a major safety hazard as older kids were flipping and cartwheeling near where the littles were. If that many classes are going to continually be held at once, they need a much larger facility.
- Equipment: the balance beam and trampoline are right next to the hard tile floor with no barrier to keep kids safe if they fall off. The equipment that is piled up while not being used has exposed sharp metal edges that kids could fall into (ex: the mini trampoline flipped over). It feels like way too much equipment and etc piled into too small of a space. It needs to be safer.

All that being said, my kid loves gymnastics so we are going to continue our gymnastics journey at another place. Like I said, the instructor does a wonderful job with what she’s been given and it’s clear she has experience working with little ones—it’s just way too much for any one single person to handle appropriately and the small size of the facility poses a lot of challenges with what they’re trying to do. I hope changes are made so it can be a safe and fun experience for the kids!

When you first walk in You may not be impressed by the physical appearance, but my daughter has loved every teacher and I have been impressed with all interactions they have had with her. I feel comfortable leaving my daughter there while I run errands And she is in safe hands. They challenge her And are very positive when she learns a new scale. She comes home, proud of herself of what she accomplished. We have her in theater, dance and tumbling class each week and by far this is her favorite!!

TL;DR: Under-resourced and unsafe.
I took my two preschool-aged kids here for a trial class with the intention of signing them up for weekly classes. My initial impression of the gym was that the space seemed small compared to the amount of equipment in it. There also appeared to be many kids and few adults.

10 minutes into class, I took my 3 year old to the bathroom. I came back to find my 5 year old bleeding from a head wound with the teachers holding tissues to her head. She was struck in the forehead with a trapeze bar and needed stitches. I was completely dumbfounded as to how this could have happened with two adults supposedly teaching the class. Clearly, if there was ANY danger of someone getting hit by a swinging bar, there should have been an adult present to ensure the kids waiting their turn were a safe distance away. Obviously, at the time, I was focused on getting my daughter out the door and to a doctor, but I was never offered any type of bandage, ice, gauze, or medical assistance.

My husband went to Flippers the next day to express his concern about the situation. He asked where the first aid kit was and was never shown it. He also spoke with the owner on the phone, asking what type of changes might be implemented to prevent this type of thing from happening again. The owner apologized for what happened and offered additional free classes but was wishy washy on what, if any change, would be made. At one point, she chalked it up to a "freak accident" and essentially blamed my daughter because "she wasn't used to the routine."

We have been going to Miss Brittanie’s now for 3.5 years. My kids ask daily to come here. They LOVE it here - love ALL the coaches and the kids. Not only have they learned how to do tricks and flips, but most importantly - how to interact with others. They have also done preschool here and have learned so much. They are well ahead for their age. This is all thanks to Miss Brittanie. She loves these kids like they are her own. Great place to come for your kid to learn to be a kid, interact with others, have fun and learn some cool things.

Honestly, I don't even know where to start. I'm super disappointed in this place. The teachers don't even teach. They hardly act interested in even teaching and are sitting most of the time. They just tell the kids what to do, never show them. Never teach them how to improve. My kid who knows nothing has never been taught what anything is. They just yell and tell him to do a certain type of jump or trick. Most of the time is spent waiting for the teacher to tell them what to do next. It's very unorganized. They never have a plan for class. Also one lady just had her baby running all over the mat in the middle of class the entire time. If you want something even remotely professional, I would look for other options.

I was so excited to start my daughter in gymnastics and possibly do preschool that they have there but I had to cancel the trial class since we had an emergency trip to take so I called them and asked if I could cancel and reschedule it but nobody answered so I left a message but nobody ever bothered to call me back. I also emailed the owner and she did respond a few times but then I asked about the preschool program and she never got back to me. Also I noticed that their website hasn’t been updated for quite some time now and same for their Facebook page. Another thing I noticed was when we went to go see the place the kids who were doing gymnastics didn’t even have leotards on. None the less I decided to enroll my daughter to a different gym instead that is in Layton. Yes, the one I went with is more expensive but I already feel like they care more for their students and the parents.

The owner does not enforce the wearing of masks. She herself is not wearing a mask in a video my daughter took while she was teaching a class.

The instructors don’t wear masks nor do they require kids to and they are all super close together. They are exposing everyone to the risk of Covid. Not safe or professional at all!!

I took my 3 year old expecting tumbling which is what he really wants to learn and do and i felt like it was like an interactive story time. Too much playing sitting in a circle and not as much tumbling. The teacher behind me teaching older kids during it was not enthusiastic to be there and I felt like was just constantly telling the kids what they were doing wrong.

Pros:

My kids learned a few good skills here, and they did have fun most of the time. The Christmas show was so cute and fun! My kids did enjoy going most of the time. I absolutely applaud all of the amazing work she does for special needs kids too! ❤️

Cons:
The building is quite run down and feels overall dated/uncared for.

I found the one teacher in particular didn’t have much patience with the youngest children when they weren’t ready to do skills on their own. (She yelled at my kids on a few occasions to do it themselves.) She was coming from a good place to try and push them, but perhaps expectations were too high for a new 3 year old, and it was instead just upsetting for everyone involved.

I ultimately decided to take them back to My Gym just off of Antelope Drive. It is slightly more expensive, but a significantly more positive environment and much newer facilities. They are much happier there.

As a parent I always want what is best for my kids, so I always try and leave honest reviews on places I visit and pay for. Little Flippers has some pros, but overall it wasn’t a good fit for our family. I’m not saying it won’t be for yours, though. I hope this helps someone!

My son is currently in his second year of preschool here and I have been nothing but impressed with them! I love the way they are with the kids. They are always so happy and positive. My son has really enjoyed the variety of things that they do everyday and as a very active physical kid I couldn’t ask for a better way to get him used to going to school.

He has also learned a lot since enrolling there. He recognizes all his letters and most the sounds they make, and he comes home every time with new songs that he has learned that he just loves to sing. I feel he is in a fantastic place as we look forward at enrolling him in Kindergarten.

I also love that they have kids with all different abilities there. My son has learned social skills from these teachers that some adults could use. I was referred to the school by family and have in turn referred family and friends and would again if the opportunity should arise.

My Son was attacked and injured by another student at Lil' Flippers.

My Ex is not very sharing of information. And so, after awhile I contacted the school directly. My phone calls and my emails went unanswered. I then approached my Son's teacher, Miss Alex. And before I could ask when it would be a good time to go over the situation, she immediately told me she would not be talking to me. That, my Ex-wife had instructed them not to. (Her wishes were the sole determinant in this matter apparently)

So then I talked to Miss Brittanie, the owner. She confirmed that they would not be cooperating with me on this matter of child safety. Because, my Ex is the one paying them. (No - I've been reimbursing my Ex for half of the expenses for some time now, and I told her so)

And, Miss Brittanie demanded I provide her with a copy of the divorce decree, proving I have joint custody. I found and shared it with her that very same evening. I also had my attorney contact them and offer to answer any questions they might have.

They have used the holiday season as an excuse. But they never replied to myself before or after the Winter break. Until, after I sent off my last email, stating my desire at this point to file complaints, and to withdraw my son from their care.

Timeliness and responsiveness on the matter of child safety are pretty important issues. It naturally makes you wonder just how important child safety is. It has now been almost a month since the incident occurred. This is unacceptable.

The instructor acted like he was mildly interested (at best)at what was going on. My son said the teacher didn't show or teach him how to do the skills my son didn't know. They put a three year old and a ten year old in the same class. The studio's interior is pretty run down and smells weird. They play the music at a really, really loud volume during class. Bad experience all around.
