I first went to Gold's gym in 2007 during a high school class and have really liked it ever since! I have had a pass to the Layton one for probably a total of four years or so! I like it more than the Layton crossroads. I haven't gone as much since they lowered their prices though. Ever since they lowered their prices it has gotten a lot more crowded..

Golds gym has the worst billing ever.... this is the second time in 3 years they have taken my membership out of my account twice! Each time I have to spend hours on the phone to have the issue resolved.

Don't believe them when they say they'll cancel anytime. It takes 30 days for a cancellation to take effect, so you better plan your cancellation in advance. They'll also try to sell some bogus crap that there's a $25 cancellation fee, and they'll try to pawn you off on the corporate office. The corporate number is useless, because it just puts you on hold for ten minutes and then takes you to voicemail. Worst customer service possible.

These guys are worse than used car salesman, always changing the prices and fee structure. IF YOU CANT GET $10 P/MONTH WITH NO CONTRACT, THEN GO ANYWHERE ELSE! This Golds gym is poorly ran and not worth the $$.

The facility is mediocre and machines are always busted and dirty. Free weights have very little organization and are mismatched. I have used nicer facilities for $10 a month rather than the $20+ I am paying here.

I recently moved 40 miles away and they charged me $100 to cancel my contract which only had about 6 months left on it, they wouldn't pro-rate the cancellation to mirror the 1/4 of the contract I had remaining. They got their blood money, but I will do all that I can to make sure that people dont use them if at all possible.

I came to Gold's Gym from So. Davis Rec. Center. I found the rec center to be overly crowded with a majority that did not understand gym etiquette. At Gold's the people seem to be serious about their workouts and understand gym etiquette and I have been able to get a workout in even when the gym is busy. My dealings with the staff so far have been positive and they are friendly and professional. I would recommend Gold's Gym over the So. Davis Rec. Center if you are serious about strength training. The gym itself is nice and has plenty of equipment and free weights and more than enough cardio machines; great variety. Also, based on other reviews; I am a woman and I have not felt uncomfortable or intimidated in any way by other members of the gym. I see other women working out as well and do not see "disrespect" being an issue at this gym.

Warning!! do not sign a contract with them. They will loose your requests to cancel the contract and keep charging your account they will lie, misdirect, play stupid, push you to corporate, anything to make it a pain to cancel. Once you do cancel you'll have to watch your account as they will continue to charge you. Dishonesty and cheating seems to be the normal way of business at most Gold's gym's I've read other reviews about them. YOU"VE BEEN WARNED. Go to Bountiful Rec center instead, much better place for your indoor activities.

Wow, a lot of negative reviews here, but guys this really is a good gym! Reviews are always opinionated, so here’s mine. In comparison to others close by, I've been to the new Skills Fitness gym several times, it is nice and new but it’s much smaller with less equipment and it's more expensive. I've also worked out many times at the Bountiful Rec Center and to me that is not worth the very small amount of equipment and how crowded it is! I'm always waiting to use something at the rec center, and also unless you're on a family plan, it isn't any cheaper. The Bountiful Gold's Gym has A LOT of nice weight lifting equipment (which is what’s more important to my workouts), a lot of nice running machines, and two nice theater rooms you can run or bike in. If you like group exercise classes, this place is the best for that. This is a popular gym, for how much the gym is used it is really clean (the showers should be replaced, maybe the drinking fountains) but all the equipment is kept in good condition and (this is to you other reviewers) their equipment does not stink, that's just you you’re smelling. Finally, I have found the staff to be extremely friendly and they do care about you. You can gripe about their costs and their sales methods and probably the transparency of their marketing could be improved (that’s directed at you, corporate execs), but the on location staff are really fabulous people. If you shop around, you’ll find that Bountiful Gold’s Gym is a great value for the price and there are more amenities than you will find elsewhere. But what do I know? I’ve only been going to it for 7 years…
