We celebrated our son's 11th bday at iROCK. The staff was very helpful in setting up the reservation and very helpful during the party. All the kids had a great time. I certainly recommend having a bday at iROCK.

This place is lucky they havenβt had any major issues. The employees are more annoying than they are helpful. I have plenty of climbing experience but was here with a family group for a celebration and wow, watching/listening to the very small bit of instruction given was crazy to me. Definitely would not recommend for new climbers or experienced climbers as itβs a very small area and not a lot of variety by any means. On the other hand the ifly and flowrider are both very enjoyable. Definitely do one of those before considering the rock wall.

The groups were really quite large for the side of the venue. Climbing routes were limited in selection.
The equipment looked nice and well maintained.
However, the reason for 2 stars is the safety and staffing were largely non-existent. Our "trainer" gave a 3 minute rushed speech while in a bathing suit holding a towel around his waist.
He performed zero demonstrations or safety checks. Which was even more concerning given the amount of kids under age 13 in our group who has never climbed or put on a harness before.
Fortunately my spouse and I had previous climbing experience that we could help out with all of these kids.
We left after 15 minutes.
The entire thing just felt super negligent that they didn't even have an employee in the room with anybody monitoring the climbers.

4 clip in auto-belayers that don't require a spotter and 6 belay of various heights and one 10 foot free climb area. Emma was a great instructor and helped out getting everyone set up. Great prices too, and even better if you Groupon for Rick climbing, sky diving and indoor surfing

Would not recommend this place! The safety practices are almost nonexistent. A teenager gives you a 5 minute talk on everything and is never to be seen again. My husband was climbing and we had a family member belaying for him. Well my husband starts to come down and drops like a rock from about 10 feet and landed on his butt. The family member belayed for other people and didnβt have an issue. Iβm not sure if itβs faulty equipment or if my family member did something wrong. But they have rope burns on their hands from trying to stop my husband from falling. Luckily my husband is ok, but it could have been really bad! I donβt think that anybody should be allowed to belay without some sort of training. They should have staff doing it. So so dangerous!

Looks like a fun place to go try rock climbing indoors, but I was less than impressed with the staff.
We stopped by one evening to enquire about pricing, and got a look & attitude from the collegiate (high school-aged ?) employees of βWhy are you bothering with this us with this, can you not see that weβre eating our Taco Bell ?β
So.

My daughter was there with a group tonight. The people in charge were teenage boys with no shirts on coming back from surfing next door. They put other inexperienced teenagers in charge of belaying. The girl holding the rope for my daughter didnβt know what she was doing and let her fall. This led to my daughter grabbing the rope and trying to stop herself from falling resulting in a rope burn on her hand. Why arenβt gloves required?
Another girl in the group burned both of her hands while descending because she wasnβt given adequate instruction.
I know you could blame it on the kids and you could make excuses all day. Gloves and adequate instruction would go a long way to ensuring safety.
I wasnβt there so I donβt know the exact circumstances but from what I understand and the injuries they received it seems obvious that safety wasnβt the primary goal.

This was a really fun place! There was a good variety of walls to climb and the staff was very fun, friendly, and helpful. Our biggest complaint was that it was pretty busy and crowded with people, and it was very hot in the building, but overall it's worth the price.

Awesome that they had grigri available for the climbers. But the wall is not for beginners. It was very hard for my son who has a disability to climb. Staff was great, but they definitely recommended hooking up to our personally harnesses opposite of what we have been told in the past by other climbers and companies.

This place is so awesome! We had never rock climbed before but our experience was great. For my husband who is pretty gifted when it comes to this kind of stuff it came natural. I struggled but it was still fun. You really have to use your legs and arm muscle. I would recommend renting their shoes or take something good for rock climbing. The staff was great! Check them out.

Me and my 8yr old had a lot of fun, it was our first time going so if was a little confusing at first. On the website when you sign up it asks if you want the $4 shoe rental, it doesn't say if you have to wear a certain kind of shoe or if it's like bowling where you have to have a bowling shoe. You don't have to rent the shoe, they don't even ask if anyone rented a shoe. After about 10min of my 8yr trying to climb in the shoe she was wearing (because I assumed we had to wear the rentals like bowling, and it was snowing so we weren't in good shoes) I asked about the shoes, which made it a lot easier to climb obviously. I thought the place was bigger, I'm glad they only allowed so many people in, there's always a rope open. All in all we will definitely be back, wearing running shoes π€£

Good walls, but it's always way too hot, both in the summer and in the winter. There should be plenty of ventilation, especially during a pandemic. Bringing in plenty of fresh air is the best way to prevent an outbreak. Also, none of the staff were wearing masks.

The climbing shoes they gave me had holes in the toes of both shoes and the soles were falling off as well. There is no safety training to belay someone which is extremely dangerous. Every other climbing facility I have been to requires all belayers to be passed off beforehand. Overall, it's pretty sketchy.

The employees were all friendly and very helpful. The kids fell in love with rock climbing. Only downside was the place was hooooot! No A/C, just a giant fan on the roof that moved slowly. IF there was an A/C unit, we didn't feel it.

Great place, good variety, cool employees. Went with a first timer and an intermediate and we all found something comfortable and something to challenge us on the bouldering wall. There were also routs that were well beyond our skill level, so plenty of room to grow. They also have a weight lifting area, and Yoga classes.

I took my daughter's and some of there friends here for my daughter's birthday party. We came in on a Saturday night and there were about 15 people there total. Nataly was amazing!! She was very kind and helpful. However, I did feel bad for her. She was the only person managing irock. The other girl, Abby was the opposite. She sat on her phone the majority of the time she was in there, she also left Nately alone to manage irock. We have come here many times but this experience was disappointing.

The staff was very nice and very helpful. There was only one wall to climb on. It was very small. There was also a small bouldering area. Emphasis on small. It was lots of fun but not a lot of options. It also smells strongly of chlorine because it's next door to the wave rider. It's also pretty warm in there for the same reason. I probably wouldn't go there again, but I'm an intermediate climber. For beginners it's probably an acceptable option. And for what you get, it's reasonably affordable.

This is the third time I have brought a youth group to iRock. It is a favorite activity every year. This was the first time we rented the facility for just our group and it was definitely worth it. The staff was extremely helpful and interacted in a fun way with our youth. There is a good variety in the difficulty of climbs and the free climb boulder is nice for when people need a break.

Lots of walls to climb. You should go with a friend so that they can feed your rope - though there is one wall that does not require any additional assistance. This was fun! Lots of different levels to choose from - some easy, and some challenging. Would definitely recommend going - pair it with IFly and Florider and you will have a great night ahead of you!

I am sincerely appalled at the lack of safety in this gym. I am an experienced climber, and so was shocked to see the employee simply show me the ropes, and then the harnesses, then walk out. There should always be a certification test before youβre allowed to belay someone. So we opted just to boulder instead. You canβt use chalk, the safety mats didnβt even cover all the crucial areas where you could fall, and all the holds were very slippery. This place is a joke, just pay the money to go two blocks over to The Front, where youβll climb real walls safely.

***DANGEROUS AND OUT OF DATE ***
**CLIMB AT YOUR OWN RISK**
If I could give negative stars I would. I am an experienced belay/top rope certified climber and was APPALLED at the level of risk apparent at this facility, especially considering this is a beginner level site for FAMILIES. Here are the main things you NEED to know before going here:
-There were no attendants or supervisors on-site during our time at this facility. At all. (While children were on top of the boulders unsupervised trying to jump from one on to the other, 12 ft off the ground)
- The gates (closures) on their carabiners for the Belay ropes did not close properly and were obviously not serviced for some time.
-The "Auto-Lock" Belay devices that they EXCLUSIVELY USE did not lock into place, then would not open fully for release. Again, out of date and EXTREMELY UNSAFE.
-Customers were not given any instruction of how to use the devices when we were on-site, kids and adults alike did not have their harnesses secured properly, nor were they using the belay devices safely.
As an experienced climber I was APPALLED at the lack of instruction or supervision. While Belaying my spouse, who had reached the top of the wall (also an experienced climber), my Bleay device failed and I had to SHOUT to get a lacksidasicle TEENAGER to come out of the other room to help release the jammed belay device...which should not take two people to release.
I would rather climb outside without gear 1000ft off the ground than ever visit this facility again.
If you want to go rock climbing and take your family, go to a gym, Momentum Climbing, or The Mine, or any other gym, there are a number of safe and affordable gyms in the area. Trust me, this is not worth the jacked up prices to sign over your literal life on an iPad wavier. You would get a better deal and much safer, more educational experience at an indoor gym where you can actually be certified to know what you're doing.

Definitely a place for beginners. We paid almost $30 to use a mediocre wall, none of the routes were marked, there was maybe 4 places to top rope from, it offers no lead climbing routes, you HAVE to use their safety equipment, and you HAVE to belay the way they want you to. I went there expecting a completely different experience, but if you are looking for a good place to climb small, easy routes, this is the place.
